Vi has a new look, baby! And I finally have a concrete timeline for her after Coruscant. (Click for better quality)

After spending many painful years on Coruscant, Vi finally finds a way off the planet with the help of a few friends. She leaves her old life behind and embarks on several adventures. She connects with a rebel faction and helps them with the odd job here and there. However, she is very aware of the fact that she is one of the few remaining force-sensitive people alive with Jedi training. This fact weighs heavily on her and she tries her best to conform into the Jedi standard, but she feels like a fraud. She had been a terrible student, and it didn’t seem fair that the Jedi who were more skilled, confident, and powerful were the ones that died during the purge.

When she was young, it hadn’t been her choice to go to the temple and follow the Jedi path. Her parents had lived in poverty. When they discovered that Vi was force-sensitive, they sent her to the temple in hopes of providing her with a better life, but she never really fit in. Now, she’s faced with a choice: abandon the Jedi path even though she’s one of the few survivors, or follow her own path.

To help her on this self-discovery journey, she travels to Glee Anslem and reconnects with her family. She finds her brother, Sookin, on Glee Anslem. He was the leader of a small rebel faction on the planet. Their father had been the leader of this group initially, but he was captured and publicly executed by the Imperials. Their mother was captured too and she was transported to a work camp on the planet, filled with other native nautolans to do back breaking work. Sookin stepped up in his father’s place to lead the rebels, but their morale was low. They had endured many losses. When Vi arrived, it sparked hope within the group. Sookin knew of the Jedi’s skill and he knew Vi would be the one to change the tide of the conflict. Sookin devised a plan to infiltrate and free the prisoners in the work camp. Vi was hesitant at first because she had come to this planet to discover who she was outside of being a Jedi, but she quickly realized there wasn’t a choice. She agreed and the siege began. They were successful in freeing many prisoners, including their mother, but there were casualties too. Despite this, the nautolan rebels knew their luck was changing and turned to Vi with hope. Vi was unsure about this and believed their faith was unfounded. She still felt extremely uncertain about her abilities, and her mother could tell.

Vi’s mother was force sensitive too, but she was a healer. Nautolans don’t necessarily believe in the force, but they believe in something known as Ocean Spirit, which controls the balance of the ocean and the land. The ocean is neither good nor evil, and the nautolan people don’t believe in a defined line between the two, unlike the Jedi and Sith. Instead, they value a belief that is very similar to karma- if you are good, good things will come. Nautolans are a peaceful race and force sensitive people on Glee Anslem are revered and respected healers. They are seen as spiritual leaders that have a special connection to the Ocean Spirit and hold a very regarded place in the culture. Vi’s mother began to teach her daughter about the Ocean Spirit, and Vi quickly accepted the teaching. She could feel the Ocean Spirit around her and it reinvigorated her. Even though Vi wasn’t a traditional nautolan healer, the other rebels greatly respected her. With her influence, their missions were becoming more successful. They saw her as a warrior for their people and regarded her as their champion. Vi embraced this and after time, she became more confident in herself and who she was. She realized she was capable of protecting the people that needed her, and that meant the world to her. She still fights like a Jedi and regards many of their teachings, but she embraced the Ocean Spirit to guide her through the current of existence. After time, Vi’s mother gifted her with the shells of the Healers, which is a greatly respected and earned trinket to be worn through her tendrils to signify her connection with the Ocean Spirit. Now, Vi is a much more confident person who, for once in her life, is proud of who she is and her connection to the force.

The Path Begins. — So this drawing isn’t canon in Vi’s timeline… yet.

For the past year, I’ve been playing Vi in a ttrpg that is based off Dungeons and Dragons, but rewritten for Star Wars. Vi has really grown into herself within the campaign.

She has strayed from her dance career and began to train as a Jedi again with the help of a close friend. She tries to make decisions that serve the greater good, not just herself or her friends. She is still very unconfident in herself as a Jedi, and wouldn’t consider herself as one, but she is beginning to realize that the legacy of the Jedi rests on her shoulders. Her path is still very unsteady, but it has begun.

She realized how valuable the teachings of her Master were and looks back on her memories of Master Allegra fondly. She painted a yellow band on her prosthetic wrist to honour Allegra’s memory because it was the colour of her lightsaber. It is also fitting that Vi chose to keep a yellow lightsaber.

Vi is far from becoming the Jedi her Master once was, and there are often times when her faith falters. She has also had a close encounter with the dark side which could prove to be her undoing. Only time will tell…

Although these series of events are technically taking place in an AU, I am going to change a few things and add this story to Vi’s canon timeline. She will be older, however, before she commits herself to the redemption of being a Jedi again. Stay tuned for an updated verse!

Ki Vez, now known as Vi Kaseo, the exotic dancer.

It was the perfect cover for her after Order 66. Nobody asks the exotic dancers what their story is. They dance and people watch, but they never listen.

She was unable to escape Coruscant after Order 66 and hid away in the low and crime ridden levels of the city. She realized she would need a job if she were to survive, and she found the Zillo Beast cantina. The staff accepted her with open arms without asking too many questions and she was hired as a dancer. She uses flirtation to her advantage, but she is still a brash and outspoken person. If anyone causes trouble with the fellow dancers, she comes to her friend’s aid with her teeth bared and ready for a fight.

After years working at the Zillo Beast with only survival driving her, Vi meets a twi'lek dancer named Iaera. Vi learns that the twi’lek is an undercover spy working with a rebel faction and Vi decides to join the cause. She still stays on Coruscant most of the time, but she is now granted the freedom to visit different parts of the planet. She works in espionage undercover as a dancer for all sorts of events ranging from political galas to underground crime factions. 

She may look sweet, but be careful. She bites.

Boba is trying to ignore the height difference, but Vi refuses to let him forget it. And yes, her tongue is purple. 

VI AND PHANTOM LIMB PAIN

Vi experiences phantom limb pain, and the severity of the pain varies on the trigger. Small physical triggers like pouring a drink into a glass with her non-dominant hand creates a tingle in her phantom limb. These kind of tingles go away with time as she gets used to missing her right arm.

However, major physical sensations can trigger PLP for Vi. Changes in barometric pressure, exposure to cold, and chest pains can trigger a painful PLP attack. A PTSD attack and sexual Intercourse may also trigger the pain.

She deals with the pain in different ways. The most common and unhealthiest way she deals with it is with alcohol, because it numbs the sensation. Massaging the scars where her shoulder ends helps too, especially when she listens to music. She prefers to have someone sit next to her against her shoulder, with an arm wrapped around her. She focuses on the emotions of the other person who is not experiencing the pain.

Hey, thanks for asking! As a dancer, everything Vi wears is flashy and bright. Her prosthetic arm is a silvery white, decorated with fake jewels so it catches the light on stage. Some rude patrons call her the “discount dancer” due to the fact that she’s missing an arm, but the staff at the club doesn’t tolerate that language and has thrown people out for calling her names.

Padawan

Republic army (tag: too stubborn too brash | republic verse) 

Ki Vez is a brash and stubborn padawan who often fights with her Master. The relationship between Master Allegra and Ki is strained due to the nautolan’s constant criticisms of the Jedi’s teachings, and Allegra’s hesitation to answer the difficult questions.

Ki grew up on Glee Anselm, where nautolans express their emotions freely and encourage strong familial bonds. Ki struggles to distance herself from personal relationships, especially when the Clone Wars begin. She has to walk the line between loyalty and duty when she is Commander.

Survivor

Order 66 (tag: v:order66) 

Cold wet feet trudge against the ground. Tears stain the nautolan’s cheeks and she clutches her shoulder stump. She had tried, and failed, to save her Master in the chaos of Order 66. They had been on a mission in the lower levels of Coruscant when the purge began. A clone trooper wielding her fallen Master’s lightsaber took her arm and she felt the brutal slaughter of hundreds in the force. In a frantic attempt to escape, she dived off the bridge and swam to the bottom of the canal. As an aquatic species, she lived under the water in terror and only came to the surface at night for food. She was trapped on Coruscant and tried to find an escape from the planet. Due to her Master’s skills in stealth, she learned the ability to mask her force signature and survive on the streets and in the sewers.

Dancer

Imperial era (tag: dancing on glass shards | imperial verse) 

Nobody asks the exotic dancers what their story is. They dance, and people watch, but they never listen. It was the perfect cover for Ki. She was unable to escape Coruscant and instead became a dancer at one of the underground clubs called The Zillo Beast. Located in the lower and crime ridden levels of the city, the bar staff is a rag tag group of individuals with a past. They look out for one another and they happily accepted Ki without asking her where she came from. She changed her name to Vi Kaseo and survived by entertaining patrons and subduing her force abilities. She and her fellow employees aren’t supporters of the Imperial Empire, and they often shield run-aways for a short time. The bar has been searched by Stormtroopers many times, but they haven’t found anything illegal. Yet.

Warrior

Late Imperial Era | Post Imperial Era

After spending years on Coruscant, Vi finds a way off the planet with the help of a few friends. She decides to embark to Glee Anslem in search of her family. Once there, she finds her brother, Sookin, leading a group of freedom fighters. She helps the reblels storm an Imperial prison camp on the planet, where she uses her skills in the force to turn the tide of battle. During this mission, they are able to free their mother. Vi’s mother later teaches Vi about the Ocean Spirit, the nautolan’s version of the force, and Vi readily accepts these teachings. Although she doesn’t follow the Jedi code, she still uses her skills in combat, espionage, and the force to help the nautolan freedom fighters. The skills she learned as a dancer allow her to slip into many places under cover. She fights with a white bladed lightsaber.

After the Empire falls, Vi dedicates herself to helping the nautolan people and rebuilding their homes and society. She provides refuge for those who are fleeing from war-torn places and establishes a school to help force-sensitive nautolans better understand their abilities. She also provides a safe space for exotic dancers that were forcibly sold into the trade and provides them with assistance to escape and rebuild their lives. She is often out on missions across the galaxy, establishing alliances or securing resources and supplies for her people. Her brother often stays behind to help lead the people, and he seeks his sister’s council frequently.

When the First Order rises to power, Vi is now an old woman. She reluctantly picks up her lightsaber again to fight for freedom.
