Aside from what I find to be annoying and inaccurate "R&B is dead" claims, I appreciated this piece on superstar @Usher - especially since I'm still on a high from experiencing his electrifying #MyWay Las Vegas residency performance this week!! #Usher #RnBIsAlive #LibraSeason

Usher is Vogue's Winter 2024 Digital Issue Cover Star! Usher Raymond IV, known to the world simply as Usher, has a lot on his mind. Hot off of a so-sold-out-they-extended-it-twice Las Vegas residency, he’s recording his ninth studio album, “Coming Home”; planning the 2024 Super Bowl halftime show; and meditating daily, working out, and helping to raise two children under the age of four. Needless to say, he isn’t sleeping much. “I was the kid who never wanted to stop,” he says. “I still am.”
For Vogue’s Winter 2024 Digital issue, Usher discusses his 30-year career, his lifelong love of fashion, and what fans can expect at halftime next month. “This night was specifically curated in my mind to have R&B take the main stage,” he says. “Not just R&B music, but R&B performance, R&B connection, R&B spirit.”

Internationally famous illusionist Eddie who lands a residency in Vegas.
Robin is a massive fan who watches him every time he appears on late night TV but hasn’t seen him live yet because tickets are too expensive and he’s never close by.
Steve doesn’t really understand all the hype around the guy, but he’d do anything to make his best friend happy so he decides to surprise Robin with tickets for the both of them.
They’re seats are great. A few rows from the front, dead center. Robin is captivated the whole night and even Steve gets into it. The illusions are whatever but he’s enamored with Eddie’s stage presence. Smooth and confident albeit a bit nerdy and theatrical at times.
Towards the end of the show, Eddie calls for a volunteer from the audience. Hands shoot up all around, including Robin’s, but Eddie ignores them all. He zones in on Steve sitting blissfully unaware in his seat.
“How would you like to come up here?” Eddie asks, holding a mic out to Steve
Steve tries to get out of it. Tries to shove Robin up instead, telling Eddie it’s her birthday and she’s his biggest fan. Robin’s not having it though. She hisses at Steve, threatening to end their friendship if he doesn’t get his ass up there. “You don’t say no to Eddie the Mage!”
So Steve scurries up onto the stage. Eddie announces the trick to the audience, and everyone is on the edge of their seat because he’s never done it before.
The trick? Making then switch clothes before their eyes.
And he does.
The lights flash and the fog machines kick in and the next thing Steve knows he’s standing on stage in Eddie’s silk, ripped black shirt and tight ass pleather pants while Eddie smiles in Steve’s button up and jeans.
The audience applauds, Robin wolf whistles and then Eddie struts over to Steve. “You can get your clothes back after the show,” he whispers, just for Steve to hear. He seals it with a wink and ushers Steve back to his seat.
Eddie does a few more tricks in Steve’s stupid clothes and the show ends. Robin and Steve don’t have time to stand up and stretch before a menacing looking bodyguard is in front of them, ushering them to a back room.
Robin can’t control her excitement when they’re escorted into a green room where Eddie is hanging out. He showers her in attention, sings her happy birthday, signs an autograph, does a silly magic trick for her, and takes a million and one pictures. Steve stands back and let’s her have the moment.
He’s mostly having fun observing until Eddie leans in to whisper something into Robin’s ear. He watches and waits for Robin to signal him to interrupt. Wouldn’t be the first time he’s had to save her from dudes who don’t know how to take a hint. But the signal never comes. Instead she boisterously laughs and shoots Steve a devilish grin.
“I’ll see you back at the room later,” she says to him as she walks out.
Before Steve can process why Robin is leaving him when they came together Eddie materializes in front of him. Standing toe to toe, eyes wild with hunger.
“So, what do you say we switch clothes, big boy.”
Oh.
Oh.
That’s why Robin left.
