thoughts about episode 3 (and i have a LOT of thoughts)

- first of all: BLOODY. HELL. doctor who already had me at like 5 out of 10 stressed, and then i switched over to endeavour and was at 11 out of 10 from the off and im currently resting at a solid 990/10

- I was shaking from the opening scene and i swear to god i still havent stopped.

- that ARGUMENT. That was so stressful, and max getting his little moment to put those assholes in their places was Poetic Cinema (as was morse calling him max)

- asdjdjjdakjsajskdkdj

- there was so much backwards and forwards with whether or not carl sturgess was the killer and every single time i was just like,, thursday and morse are going to go absolutely spare, probably at each other (i was right)

- thursday whistling at the birds was a minor moment of stress i really didn’t need.

- my mum, after 7 series, still doesn’t know jim’s name. He’s just ‘sideburns man’

- i was close to tears throughout (wow, sure is nice to feel an emotion) but I actually cried at: 1) bright’s reaction to hearing about his wife (amazing acting but also just...... jesus christ mr bright i want to give u a hug even though i KNEW it was coming). and 2) win/fred reading the letter from Morse Holy Shit

- also as soon as i saw dorothea looking stressed in that phone box i KNEW what she was going to say and ughhhh.

(- on a completely separate note this series has yet again reminded me how much i adore miss frazil, especially how she’s moved from just a reporter to a genuine friend to all of them, and i’m glad she got her way with investigating into these bloody freak accidents. And she’s an icon in general)

- that bit where thursday tells morse off about the freak accident investigation and then as soon as he leaves and strange is like... bro spill the beans. I love this duo.

- it took me an embarrassingly long time to realise this entire series has taken place over a year. I literally thought it was mid feb at most and then mrs bright was getting the christmas tree out??? i was so confused (although it Did explain how morse had suddenly managed to decorate his house - i’m loving the moody grey walls).

- JIM. NO. VERY STRESSFUL.

- im sad the rat theme wasn’t as prominent as in episode 1 - although now i think about it, if the ‘rat man’ was carl sturgess, i suppose jim getting bitten by the rat in ep1 was foreshadowing???? im really clutching at straws here.

- i find it very rude and unsexy that they included that clip in the trailer of morse covered in blood in an italian police cell and it WASN’T EVEN IN THE SERIES. like i get it forshadowed and that it will probs be in series 8?? (it better be). but that is SO MUCH STRESS NO THANK U

- i was kinda right about the whole ludo/violetta thing? i just knew that ludo was the real bad guy and violetta was kinda trapped idk. in fairness it was my slightly-gay-for-violetta brain biasing me, but it’s nice to think i can also put it down to some level of logic.

- im glad thursday went over to venice because i like people making up & i hate conflict, but i’m worried things are too far gone? like they seemed to end the episode on the same page but morse has already put in for that transfer to mcnutt??? i think next series he’ll be working for mcnutt but thursday and him will cross paths, as well as with the rest of the cowley boys, and somehow they’ll still end up solving crimes together?? (but that’s optimistic iguess.)

- morse u were a bit of an asshole but also can i give u a hug

- oh, and ludo’s not dead. i don’t even trust that man to die

- im 100% not going to be able to sleep tonight

- WE HAVE TO WAIT A WHOLE YEAR TO FIND OUT HOW THIS GOT TIED UP SURELY THAT’S A CRIME

Overall + Preview

Overall I really liked it! They weren’t as cutesy as I thought it would be but of course that’s because despite Type finally realizing his feelings and accepting them, there’s still one underlying issue: he is not accepting of the fact that it’s a gay relationship and thus only wants to keep it a secret even though Tharn doesn’t want to. I think once this issue is solved we’ll get a lot more cutesty tharntype!!

The preview: HOOOOH BOI this next episode will be spicy!!!! A jealous type is what I’ve been wanting and hopefully it will help him in finally fully accepting his relationship with Tharn and actually being okay to showcase their relationship! Since type is a very easily angered person, I think this friend of Tharn’s will anger Type to the point of like kissing Tharn in public or something!! I guess we’ll find out next week!!
