Ini Alasan Utama FIFA Indonesia ditunjuk Jadi Tuan Rumah Piala Dunia U17

Pewarta Nusantara, Jakarta – FIFA resmi mengumumkan Indonesia sebagai tuan rumah Piala Dunia U17 2023 melalui akun Twitter resmi mereka. Keputusan ini diambil dalam sidang FIFA Council yang berlangsung di Zurich, Swiss.

Erick Thohir, Ketua Umum PSSI, mengungkapkan rasa syukur dan kebanggaannya atas penunjukan Indonesia sebagai tuan rumah. Menurutnya, hal ini adalah bentuk kepercayaan dunia terhadap Indonesia di bawah kepemimpinan Presiden Joko Widodo.

Meskipun belum menerima surat pemberitahuan resmi, Erick Thohir menganggap pengumuman dari FIFA sebagai awal yang penting untuk mempersiapkan diri menjadi tuan rumah yang baik.

Alasan utama penunjukan Indonesia sebagai tuan rumah Piala Dunia U17 tidak dijelaskan secara detail dalam situs resmi FIFA. Pengumuman tersebut menjelaskan bahwa turnamen Piala Dunia U17 akan diselenggarakan di Indonesia pada tahun ini. Edisi ke-19 dari turnamen sepak bola pemuda internasional ini akan diadakan mulai tanggal 10 November hingga 2 Desember 2023.

Setelah absen selama 4 tahun karena pandemi COVID-19, turnamen ini kembali digelar. Brasil akan berkompetisi sebagai juara bertahan setelah memenangkan gelar pada tahun 2019.

Awalnya, Peru telah ditetapkan sebagai tuan rumah Piala Dunia U17 pada tahun 2021. Namun, Peru kemudian mengundurkan diri sebagai tuan rumah karena masalah kerusakan infrastruktur.

Sebagai akibatnya, FIFA mengumumkan pembukaan tender untuk mencari tuan rumah pengganti. Akhirnya, Indonesia dipilih sebagai pengganti Peru dan diumumkan sebagai tuan rumah Piala Dunia U17 2023.

Rai, as part of the agreement between FIFA and the EBU, representing the European public televisions, has acquired the multiplatform broadcasting rights, exclusively free-to-air for Italy, of the 2023 Women's Soccer World Cup, in schedule from 20 July to 20 August 2023 in Australia and New Zealand. The broadcasting rights concern 15 matches of the world championship event, including all the matches of the Italian national team, the opening match, the two semi-finals and the final. In addition to those on the 2023 Women's World Cup, the agreement with FIFA also provides for the broadcasting rights of the "FIFA Other Events 2024/2027" package, i.e. the U20 and U17 Youth World Cups, both for men and women, and some documentaries produced by FIFA and dedicated to the Women's World Cup.
