To all older & experienced Sky players, remember to always help new players if they get in a pickle. They will very much appreciate it & who knows, you might just make a new friend out of it too. We were in their shoes once & know it’s time we lead a helping hand for the new generation of skykids.

This yellow caped skykid is Melody, a new friend I made while helping her open the four player door in vault. After vault she followed me to treasure reef where I learned that she had never been there. I showed her the spirit locations, winged light & map shrine. It’s always nice to teach people in this game.

Got around to visiting the Treasure Reef after a while so here’s my two cents on the murals

Yes, they are mining the dark stones. We actually see carts full of unprocessed dark stones underwater:

After the stones have been collected they are taken to the large tower where they will be processed and filled with light

The light comes from the mantas that are in captivity (I don’t have pictures of them in those two large tube things but y’all know what I’m talking about). The mural shows that the bigger and the more wings a creature has, the more stones that can be powered.

The ancestor spirits have been using light from the creatures as a source of power for a long time. You can even see them collecting light from the birds in Laughing Light Catcher’s memory

Since light is used to power everything, this explains why we need to use our candles to light the various mechanisms in the realms (open doors, activate platforms, etc)

There's stuff like this in the concept art from before the game's release as well but I won't talk about that unless someone asks me to

so i was exploring in treasure reef and i found something underwater that looks like it could be a winged light?? but whenever i try to swim towards it i get pushed back 😭 does anyone know what it could be??
