4 reasons to get the 2024 Toyota GR86 TRUENO Edition
Toyota is revving its engines for the 2024 Toyota GR lineup - and a new trim is being added to the 2024 Orlando Toyota GR86 lineup: the TRUENO Edition (it means ‘thunder’ in Spanish). Many Toyota fans are excited about this trim because it celebrates its throwback design - the Toyota AE86 from the 1980s. But, what does this trim have that makes it so special? We’re going to make it simple for you.
Tumblr media
What we love about the 2024 Toyota GR86 Trueno Edition
#1: The design – and its throwback features
The Toyota GR86 TRUENO Edition features retro two-toned paint and ‘TRUENO Edition’ badging. As said earlier, it is styled like the Toyota AE86 as an homage to its 40th anniversary. The Toyota AE86 was a part of the 5th generation of Toyota Corollas from 1984 to 1987 and showcased sporty liftback styling, pop-up headlights, and an angular hood.  But, it also has a modern look with its 10-spoke 18-inch black metallic wheels, a black duckbill spoiler, the black TRUENO graphics on the side panels, and two paint colors to choose from - Halo or Track bRed.
Tumblr media
#2 - See what’s inside
We talked about the exterior – now it’s time to go inside this Orlando Toyota’s cockpit. When you go inside you’ll see that it is extremely comfortable and easy to manage with the low-slung, driver-centric layout with the push-start button, 8-inch touchscreen audio system with 8 premium speakers. You’re going to be sitting in Ultrasuede sport seats with red leather, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, special all-weather floor mats with ‘TRUENO’ badging, and red-stitched shift gear.
Since the beginning of time, Toyota has been all about safety – and it doesn’t stop at this Orlando Toyota sportscar. It comes standard with Active Safety Suite with Pre-Collision Braking System, Pre-Collision Throttle Management, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lead Vehicle Start Alert, Lane Departure Warning with Sway Warning, and Automatic High Beams.
Tumblr media
#3 - The speed.
Toyota has never failed when it comes to reliability - and if you want to go 0-60 mph in just 6.6 seconds? You’ll be able to with the 2024 Toyota GR86 TRUENO Edition. This Orlando Toyota sportscar can do this with its naturally aspirated 2.4L FA-24 engine – the horsepower is 228 and the torque is at 184 lb.-ft. It also has rear-wheel drive and comes in both a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission.
The 2024 Toyota GR86 TRUENO Edition has special perks – and even if you aren’t able to get it on your hands, you can add it to any GR86 year and/or trim. The special performance package includes ZF SACHS Dampers and Brembo brakes that offer maximized performance. This new package ensures firm and stable steering, maximized ground contact, and a quieter cabin.
Tumblr media
#4 - The NASA membership
The 2024 Toyota GR86 TRUENO Edition comes with a complimentary one-year membership to the National Auto Sport Association – which makes your experience even better. With this membership, the 860 GR86 TRUENO Edition owners (yes we said 860) will be able to receive discounts on NASA-sanctioned events and other benefits – like one free High-Performance Driving Event.
Channel the Initial D car in this new Toyota special edition
Not only Toyota sportscar fans are excited about this trim being added to the Orlando Toyota GR86 lineup - but also anime fans. Initial D is a manga-turned-anime that focuses on the evolution of Takumi Fujiwara where he becomes a downhill racing hero in a Toyota AE86 – which the 2024 Toyota GR86 TRUENO Edition takes stylistic cues from. So, the car has been coined the name ‘initial D car’.

What is a mild hybrid? Is it better than a full hybrid?
Are you ready to switch to hybrid – but realize there are so many types of hybrids that it’s hard to choose? While doing your, including mild hybrids? You may be wondering ‘What is a mild hybrid?’, but don’t worry because Toyota of Orlando is Making it Simple™ for you. Let’s get into it.
Tumblr media
What is a mild hybrid?
Let’s answer the big question ‘What is a mild hybrid?’. (Spoiler alert: it’s not that different from an Orlando Toyota full hybrid). Mild hybrids use a small electric battery and electric motor to help reduce your gas consumption. They also use regenerative braking to help charge the electric battery.
Mild hybrid vs full hybrid: How do they differ?
Okay – so what does the mild hybrid vs full hybrid comparison look like? They both are electrified cars. But one will save you more money in the end.
Full hybrids have a larger battery and electric motor than mild hybrids.
Full hybrids are capable of powering your vehicle for short distances at very low speeds, using their electrified abilities, which mild hybrids can’t do.
Full hybrids cut down on emissions more than mild hybrids – the electric motor can sometimes power the vehicle by itself.
If you’re looking to save more money, full hybrids are definitely the way to go because they give you a lot more savings on gas. While mild hybrids will cut your gas costs,  it’s not nearly as much as a full hybrid, like a 2024 Toyota Prius.
Test drive a full hybrid today at Toyota of Orlando
Thinking about getting an Orlando Toyota hybrid? We want you to step into one soon. Come see us at Toyota of Orlando with questions and take a full hybrid for a test drive to see how you like it. We’re open until 10 pm every night at 3575 Vineland Road, just off I-4 near the Mall at Millenia!

2024 Subaru Forester vs Toyota RAV4: Which is better?
There are so many options on the market and it can get convoluted -everything starts to sound the same. We’re here to make it simple by comparing two great options – the 2024 Subaru Forester vs Toyota RAV4. Let’s get into the details.
Tumblr media
2024 Subaru Forester vs Toyota RAV4: The cost
When deciding which car you want, you want to stay within your budget but also get your money’s worth.
Between the 2024 Subaru Forester vs Toyota RAV4, you’re going to see that the Forester’s starting price is a little cheaper at $27,095, while the Toyota RAV4’s starting MSRP is $28,675. But which one is more bang for your buck?
This Orlando Toyota has lower ownership and operating costs. Maintenance on average costs $63 less, while typical repairs are also cheaper. Here are a few examples: :
$79 less for a starter
$253 less for a fuel injector
$216 less for front struts
$140 less for a water pump
$110 less for a muffler
Also, when you purchase any new 2024 Toyota, including the RAV4, you’ll get 2 years or 25,000 miles (whichever comes first) of complimentary scheduled maintenance. This saves you a lot of money on oil changes, tire rotations, and more. Subaru doesn’t offer any complimentary scheduled maintenance for its new cars.
It also might be easier to simply purchase a Toyota as there are twice as many Toyota dealerships than Subaru dealerships in the country. This also means it’s that much easier to find a Toyota service center for repairs and auto service.
Many reports show that Toyota is more reliable than  Subaru.
For reliability, Consumer Reports ranks Toyota first, while Subaru is ranked seventh.
For long-term dependability, J.D. Power ranks Toyota above average, while Subaru is ranked below average.
Finally, you get fewer choices when you opt for the 2024 Subaru Forester vs Toyota RAV4.
If you’re looking for a hybrid, the Forester doesn’t offer any and it only comes in six models. Even though there is a rumor going around that the Subaru Forester might come in a hybrid, there is nothing confirmed as of right now.
The 2024 Toyota RAV4 comes in 13 models, including seven hybrid options.
And if you’re looking for a plug-in hybrid, the RAV4 offers an option: the RAV4 Prime. We have options here.
When you first see the price of a Toyota, you may have doubts as the difference is $1,580.ut if you want something that’ll last longer and  save you money on car care - you’ll end up saving more purchasing the 2024 Orlando Toyota RAV4.
Tumblr media
Forester vs RAV4: The performance
If you’re looking for an SUV with speed, here are some things to consider when looking at the 2024 Subaru Forester vs Toyota RAV4:
The 2024 Toyota RAV4 offers both all-wheel drive and front-wheel drive, while the Forester only comes in all-wheel drive – which isn’t bad, but just something to consider.
Both of these SUVs sport 2.5L 4-cylinder engines under the hood. However, the performance is a little different.
The Toyota RAV4 gets 21 more horsepower than the Subaru Forester.
The RAV4 produces 8 more lbs.-ft. of torque.
Which is faster – the Forester or RAV4?
Well, the RAV4 is faster – it goes 0-30 mph in 2.8 seconds, 0-60 mph in 8 seconds, and 0-80 mph in 13.5 seconds, which beats the Forester in all three categories by a couple of seconds.
Something to definitely consider is fuel efficiency, so here’s the 2024 Subaru Forester vs Toyota RAV4 fuel efficiency breakdown.
The 2024 Toyota RAV4 gets 27/35 mpg.
The 2024 Subaru Forester gets 26/33 mpg, so you’re going to pump gas a little more often.
And don’t forget about the RAV4 hybrid – it gets 41/38 mpg, which drives up your fuel efficiency.
The RAV4 offers a wider suspension by inches, has better cornering capabilities, and has a quieter cabin thanks to its new chassis.
This new Toyota SUV has larger tire options than its Subaru competitor for better traction, as well as larger wheels for better handling and brake cooling.
If you’re looking to tow heavy, you’ll be able to with this Orlando Toyota SUV – 3,500 lbs. This Subaru SUV maxes out at 3,000 lbs.
Last but certainly not least, this Orlando Toyota has more stopping power. It has larger brake rotors and a stopping distance of 161 feet at a speed of 70 mpg – the Forester takes 181 feet to come to a stop at the same speed. That 20 feet difference can save you in a rush.
Tumblr media
Forester vs RAV4: Which cabin suits you better?
For cabin space, both SUVs can seat up to five people comfortably and have an easily accessible cargo area. You can also opt for different colors and multiple trim options. But, which cabin space is bigger – the Forester or RAV4?
The Orlando Toyota easily wins when it comes to a larger cargo area – it offers 37.6 cubic feet of space, while its Subaru competition falls short with just 28.9 cubic feet of space.
The RAV4 also offers the option of a hands-free liftgate with foot activation, a feature that is not offered on the Forester.
Forester vs RAV4, which offers more features?
The RAV4 takes the win, again, by offering power windows that auto open and close with one touch of a switch, automatically adjusting windshield wipers, optional air-conditioned seats, Qi wireless charging, and a 115-volt a/c outlet. The Subaru Forester doesn’t offer any of these features.
The RAV4 offers you more creature comforts and efficiency features when you’re out on the open road.
Tumblr media
2024 Subaru Forester vs Toyota RAV4: The safety aspects
Safety is certainly something to consider when purchasing a Orlando SUV. Here’s the breakdown when it comes to the 2024 Subaru Forester vs Toyota RAV4:
The Subaru Forester only comes with the standard backup camera, which is good. But the new Toyota RAV4 offers a birds-eye view of the car and the standard backup camera. Why have one when you can have both? The more safety, the better.
This new Toyota in Orlando has a secondary collision brake, which automatically applies the brakes in the event of a collision to reduce further damage. You won’t find this feature in the Forester.
Rear cross-traffic alert is found in both SUVs, which is amazing, but the RAV4 takes safety to another level with the Parking Support Brake to help prevent a crash when you’re reversing near traffic.
Toyota is known to top the safety charts and it does not disappoint when it comes to the safety ratings between the Forester vs Toyota RAV4.
The RAV4 has a higher NHTSA safety rating for frontal crashes and side-impact crashes
The IIHS rated the RAV4 safer for its side impact test
Stop by Toyota of Orlando to see the RAV4 in person!
When it comes to the 2024 Subaru Forester vs Toyota RAV4, which one will you choose for your needs? If you want to test drive a 2024 Toyota RAV4, come on down to Toyota of Orlando! We’re open seven days a week at 3575 Vineland Road, just off I-4 across from the Mall at Millenia. Call us to schedule your test drive at (407) 298-4500!

You should always have your car brake pads changed every 40,000-50,000 miles. Your car brakes are a crucial part of your Orlando Toyota car. Keeping up with your car brake pads can help you stay safe while you’re driving in Orlando.
Tumblr media
Unsettling sounds from your brakes
Sign #1 Screeching sound.
If you’re coming to a complete stop and notice a loud screeching sound coming from your car brakes, then this means that your car pads are beginning to wear out. If you ignore this sound for too long it can destroy your car brake rotors.
Sign #2 Grinding sound.
Another gut-wrenching sound that can come from your brakes is a grinding sound. This is the last warning you’ll get before your car brake rotors completely give out.
Sign #3 Strong vibrations.
If you feel a vibration sensation while driving, then this is a sign that you have warped car brake rotors.
Sign #4 Thin or thick car pads.
When inspecting your Toyota car during the weekly car maintenance check, don’t forget the brakes! Your Orlando Toyota car brake pads should always have more than 1/4-inch of padding on them. If you have any less than that, then it can cause big problems soon.

Community Spotlight: In Harmony with Nature
Toyota of Orlando has been the source of many car tips, advice, and insight throughout the years. We’re glad to have been able to be a guide in the journey of your vehicle purchase in the Orlando area. Nevertheless, even though we’re a car dealership, we still like to go the extra mile and use our influence to serve our community. For our community spotlight this season, we will be contributing to a local Orlando organization—In Harmony with Nature Animal Haven. As advocates for wildlife preservation, IHWN Inc.’s mission is to offer a safe haven for neglected, abused, and problem animals.
Tumblr media
IHWN Inc. originally started as a bird and reptile refuge; however, other animals began to find their way and made themselves at home in this very sanctuary. Today, you may see animals as small as birds to as big as wolves and this organization makes sure to preserve their existence in the community. Besides being a reservation for rescued animals, IHWN Inc.’s duty is also to educate the community about the importance of wildlife preservation. There are often times that nature is taken for granted not just by the Orlando community, but by places around the U.S. With just a little contribution from every individual—starting with the Orlando area, IHWN Inc.’s message will be able to get across and make a difference in the environmental community.
Take a look at www.ihwn.org for more information on how you could help make a difference in the Orlando community. There are opportunities to volunteer, donate, become a sponsor, and you could even see pictures of the cute wolves! Here at Toyota of Orlando, we are proud to be able to say that we are using our recognition to motivate others to make a difference in the community!

5 reasons why you need that oil change
That pesky maintenance light comes on and makes you start thinking if you need to actually change your oil. I’m sure everyone has thought they can ignore it and go on about their day, but we’re here to tell you that you really shouldn’t ignore it. Major problems can occur in your car if you don’t get an oil change regularly.
Tumblr media
Bruh… but why?
#1 Maintains engine lubrication.
If you regularly get an oil change at Toyota of Orlando, it can help maintain lubrication on your car’s pistons, valves, and all other very important engine parts. Your manual will let you know how many miles you can go before your next visit to Toyota of Orlando.
#2 Improves gas mileage.
By not having proper lubrication in your engine, can make you burn through more gas… which also means more money! Save your money, ya’ll!
#3 Cools down your engine.
If your engine lacks lubrication, then it will create more friction, which will cause more heat to occur. We all know that an overheated engine is bad news! This can cause you to spend even more money on your car when you could’ve avoided that.
#4 Promotes car longevity.
If you avoid getting an oil change, then your engine will just have to work harder and by working harder, it’ll mean fewer years on your car.
#5 Remove particles and sludge.
Dirt can ruin a car at a rapid rate. If you’re not getting an oil change regularly, then harmful sludge will form. You’ll get a disgusting engine and it will cease to exist at some point.
