I really don't wanna be mean, but I am just flabbergasted. Like how, as an adult person, who isn't cut off from society, can you not know that you can just pick fruit from plants and eat them??? Like what does she think is being done to fruits before they're in stores? What does she think gardening and farming and foraging is?
I genuinely can't wrap my head around this. Maybe it's because I've had countless fruits and vegetables from my parents', my grandparents', my aunts' and friends' gardens but are there actually more people who don't know that you can just harvest fruits/vegetables from their plants and eat them?
I'm gonna put a poll here because if it's anonymous I think people might answer if they didn't know.

'I'm just pickin' things up off the ground and, quite literally, sometimes putting them straight into my face' — Here's how this TikToker is teaching people about foraging to create more sustainable consumption patterns 🌱

hi my flight landed a while back but my wifi is choppy as fuck </3 all i wanted to say is mcyt antis have some of the worst reading comprehension i’ve ever seen thank u for coming to my ted talk
no but isnt the whole point of the "why did the chicken cross the road" joke like anti-humor? like i keep seeing things that are like saying the Other Side but i thought that it was funny because people would expect something funny but by being given just the basic answer of "to get to the other side" because oh yeah thats obvious, which makes it funny in the bluntness of it. Like the original telling of the joke also seemed like anti-humor but everybody keeps saying its a suicide joke.
I feel like if humans swallowed rocks like birds do to help grind up food we'd have so much fun with it.
Can just imagine all the girlies on tiktok going "I know this is a bit controversial but I honestly love using limestone as a gastrolith. Not only can you readily forage it but they are just so pretty when smoothed out after regurgitating them"
and then all the comments would be like " girl 😭 😭 calcite dissolves in stomach acid!! Just use quartz if you want a pretty gastrolith like 💀"
I have an article due in 3 days and I'm not even close to being done UGH!!! Does anyone have any ideas about how I can tie in local agriculture and teen/young adult culture?
