A new trailer has been released for the second season of The Newsreader. No release date was specified.

The Newsreader season two travels from election night 1987, through the shocks of the Hoddle Street shootings and the Stock Market Crash, the complexity of the heroin crisis, towards the protest and pageantry of the 1988 Bicentenary. As a nation grapples with its identity, its past and future, Helen and Dale reach a crossroads, and must settle on who they want to be, to each other, and to the world.

Ok, I just binged #TheNewsreader today, and my question is, how in the hell is Sam Reid going to continue playing sad and confused closet case Dale Jennings and the beautiful, homicidal, maniac, obsessively in love with Louis, vampire Lestat on #iwtv? I need closure on The Newsreader, but he can't do both. Or, can he?

First look at The Newsreader

A new trailer has been released for The Newsreader, which is set to release March 18, 2022.

Set in 1986 and centered around the frantic world of broadcast news, The Newsreader follows the unconventional relationship between an ambitious young TV reporter, Dale Jennings (Sam Reid), and star female news anchor, Helen Norville (Anna Torv).

Helen is being a good host to Dale's foreign friends.
