Villainess anime reviews
went on a bit of a binge, so here's a compilation:
I'm the Villainess, So I'm Taming the Final Boss
rating: lots of fun
one of the funnier entries on this list in my opinion, i actually laughed out loud multiple times
the protagonist is a capable and determined lady, as well as slightly unhinged which i always enjoy, i love weird women
breakneck pace, speedrunning like 3 games in the 12 episode, so it is the opposite of boring
this anime has everything: ducks, crows in bowties, crossdressing, ducks, video game brain rot, and ducks
Villainess Level 99: I May Be the Hidden Boss but I'm Not the Demon Lord
rating: at east somewhat interesting (still ongoing, episodes watched: 5)
aside from the gimmick a pretty standard isekai with pretty eh animation
a lot of this show is kinda boring, but there are still interesting and enjoyable moments
the protagonist is charming and probably the strongest part
i will probably be continuing to see what happens next so depending on that my opinion may change
The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen: From Villainess to Savior
rating: charming
one of the series from this list that i enjoyed most, even if the story and the world are a bit simple, the characters and their struggles still work and aren't too difficult to get invested in
a bit more drama in this one, with tragic flashbacks (or whatever they're called if its abt an alternate plotline) that i found maybe a little too frequent
here the protagonist is also capable, driven, and quite traumatized, i wanna hold her in my hands like a baby bird
My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!
rating: cute!
the bisexual harem is a breath of fresh air
bakarina's dumbassery is a great source of comedy, she's also pretty lovable so the harem around her is believable. and i love a gal with a hobby
I'm in Love with the Villainess
rating: eh
kinda disappointed with this one, i was hoping for some fun gl story, but it could barely watch the first episode and had to force myself to try a few more in hopes it got better (it didnt)
the romance part felt more like harassment in those first episodes, and sure, ive read that it progresses further, but the protagonist didnt really endear herself to me with that
given the comedy tag on mal there were probably some jokes in it, i just couldn't identify many good ones
7th Time Loop: The Villainess Enjoys a Carefree Life Married to Her Worst Enemy!
rating: hell yeah! (still ongoing, episodes watched: 6)
the best one of all shows listed and the only one that's not an isekai
much more grounded, with good worldbuilding and another capable lady as the protagonist, but this one even more so, as well as much more mature
very pretty, even if i find some character designs questionable :v
definitely got me hooked and i will be watching more

Queen Rosa: I had a terrible premonition about our daughter, Pride. She's going to become a hideous, cruel, abusive tyrant as a queen.
What should she do: I'll spend more time with her, making sure to teach her the proper way to behave as a future queen and cut all selfish, entitled or sadistic behaviour at the root.
What she did instead: I'll completely avoid Pride and leave her in my husband's and her servants' care instead. I won't react or comment on any of her bad behaviour either. I probably should shield the second princess Tiara from her too, to make sure Tiara will grow into a proper princess.

My Happy Marriage Episode 9
Kiyoka always ready to run to Miyo whenever she needs it. Damn when is it my turn?
Love the Kudo family just taking Miyo without hesitation into their lives and hoping the best for her.
It was clear to Kiyoka that Miyo was working too hard. And Miyo wanted to be the best for him.
With Kiyoka knowing her family's treatment he wanted to take a calm, trusting route with her. And because of that family's treatment, it was understandable that Miyo was doing her best. She's been praised for the first time so she wants to keep the praises and happy looks. The uncertainties, though Kiyoka will never be uncertain or hesitate with her, is without her knowing harming her instead.
She's just adorable.
Hazuki deserves love too. Someone said that the author may consider her remarriage since she and her ex-husband still love each other and I hope it's true.
I hope she finds her own reason
Love him for this
She still thinks she needs to work for someone's love and i hate that. Now more than ever I find Sengoku's words to Law about Cora-san needed more saying

Like I can't sense any ill harm yet. Not sure what vibes I'm picking up from him. I know he wants to use Miyo but at the same time, he's valuing her. Not as a person but rather as a rare product. So, not sure about how to hate him. But I do hate him. Don't get me wrong on that.
Would have changed my numbers and have someone screen my messages.
This hurt me physically, emotionally, mentally and it will be a while until I recover.

2023 Summer Three-Episode Check-In
Deeper themes are a little thin on the ground this season, but there’s still some very fun adventures to be had.
The team split up the three-episode reviews between staff volunteers, with one person putting together a short(ish) review on each series. Like we do with our check-in podcasts, we started from the bottom of our Premiere Digest list and worked our way up.
If we didn’t watch a show for at least three episodes, we skipped it, and we’ve used nice bold headers to help you quickly jump to the shows you’re interested in. Man the final lastame Thursday 😢 😢 can’t believe we are really at the end here.
Very sweet that Pride made Kemet and Sefec the official royal carriers. Very well deserved after everything they’ve been through.
This mf Val was really getting into the Pride feet licking 😂 that wasn’t just a sign of respect lmao he so real for that.
Extremely rare Pouting Pride 😍
“Arthur is the perfect knight I’m delighted to have him next to me” omg pride be careful you’re gonna make my boy Arthur faint. I’m sure that one comment right there made all the training Arthur went through worth it.
Entire first half of the episode had me dying man. Between Val trying to rile up Arthur and Stale, to their duel to Val grabbing Pride’s hand, the fan-service and banter were great. Even a blushing Val! After the stressful last few episodes, it’s great to just see everyone getting praised and having fun.
Working together Arthur and Stale were able to take down Gilbert. They always work better together. A perfect duo.
“I’m genuinely happy we met. I’m glad you two are by my side” 😭 😭 I need a second season. I have all the books and will start reading ASAP, but I want more of the anime as well. Such a great character story and one of my fave female MCs.
The “real” story only really got going at the end. I was surprised they didn’t bring up the “order” who were behind the cave incident. But a great finale nonetheless, teared up during that last montage. I’ll miss this show so much.
