Do you ever start an anime with extremely low expectations and come out really enjoying the journey it took you on? Today I have been on that adventure. Normally I have a very set list that I use to help me figure out which anime I’m writing about, but today I was so surprised by Kongming, I watched the whole 12 episodes and had a swell time. This isn’t the kind of anime that grabs you with the first episode. It took me the first two episodes to really start getting into it, and the third episode really hooked me. Nevertheless, here is the story: 

Kongming is considered one of the greatest strategists for the Three Kingdoms period in China. After securing many victories, Kongming passes away. His final wish: be reborn in a more peaceful time. However, he wakes up on Halloween in a nightclub. His first thought: I am in hell. But after watching a captivating performance by Eiko, a young artist, Kongming is awestruck. With his passion in contemporary music secured, Kongming soon vows to help Eiko achieve her goals as her personal tactician. 

Anime of the day:  Akiba Meido Sensou

This anime was such an unexpected sleeper. I enjoyed every moment. It was lit.

This anime focuses on Nagomi. She has always dreamed of being a cute maid cafe girl. So, she moves to Akihabara to join the Ton Tokoton maid cafe. However, she knows little about the true world of being a maid. Though, after running an errand with fellow maid Ranko, Nagomi will learn the true darkness of being a maid and it will shake her to her core.

Magic girls can go shove off, because we have magical boys! And it’s not like the boys turn into girls, no they wear their adorable magic with pride! A magical pink wombat gives a group of five boys magic powers and now they must defend the world from lovelessness. They fight against a green hedgehog and his cronies. And they fight some super strange enemies. If you’re looking for something serious you should do it elsewhere because this anime is nothing but a fun blast of 12 episodes. BUT WAIT there’s more. The sequel includes 12 more episodes of these defenders, defending the world with love. I really liked this show. It’s sad that I didn’t find it till after it aired. The characters would also make an adorable cosplay so like there is that. To find all the music from this anime is super easy, just look up “Earth Defence Club” on Spotify. The opening, “絶対無敵☆Fallin’ LOVE☆” is on my playlist. It’s a bop. Everything is a bop with this anime.

After a little tinkering, Yukiai is up and broadcasting, but she reaches an audience she never would have expected.

You’ll never guess what I just finished. Well actually it’s in the title, so I guess you guessed it… The Masterful Cat quickly wormed its way into my slice of life loving heart. I’m even up to date on the manga…. It is about Yukichi, a large Maine Coon, who takes care of his inept owner, Saku. To tell you anything else would kinda ruin it.

Kurosawa has a crush on Adachi, so naturally, Kurosawa thinks some questionable thoughts. So now, Adachi must figure out what to do with coworkers' feelings.

So, she is very quickly found by Jinshi, an imperial manager, and sent to work with Gyokuyou, the emperor’s favorite concubine.

I liked this one. Rentt is 25. He’s a great guy. You can rely on him for even the most menial task. He helps new adventures. However, he has no specific talent that makes him more than a level two adventurer. Honestly, he should probably quit. But, he has a dream and that dream is what caused him to be eaten by a dragon and spat out as an undead. That’s right, our Rentt is now a bag of bones. And after, barely, killing a couple fellow skeletons, Rentt notices his strength increasing, so he hopes that by killing things he will one day return to humanity.
