so like out of all of the episodes of sga, the deadalus variations got me the most fucked up? because of this team? because of what it means?
like? did ronon and john go first? to give teyla and rodney more time? what happens then? bc teyla might have torren and then if she does what does rodney do? does he still try or does he just look at his dead family and just...give up?!?! or does he keep fighting to try and bring them back for closure until the food runs out, and he cna feel the hypoglycemica kick in and he goes and lays down with his team?!!?
or maybe, rodney and teyla take their weapons before they know what their teammates are like and its all or nothing, but they keep giving rodney their food to try and make him work and time keeps passing.
how many universes did they jump through before they ran out of time?
how many times did they call out to other atlantis's "hey, don't come on the ship its dangerous?"
how many times did one or more of them have to go and rage as they got further and further from their own world?
did they cry for what was lost? debate if they want to get off if only they get the chance to live?
was there an atlantis that told them to come, it was okay, they'd be safe there?
did they run into an atlantis that never had an expedition and so the city wasn't there at all because it had never been moved?
was there a point where they gave up? are these people capable of giving up, especially when they can look at their teammates and think to themselves "if I give up they might die so I can't give up"
who died first? did one of them go and the others just went...i can't do this anymore and they joined the first?
how did they go gently into the good night knowing they'd never be able to go home? how did john feel knowing he'd failed his team? failed atlantis by not getting back? how does teyla deal with another loss for the athosians? or knowing torren would grow up without her? or maybe she's comforted with the fact that in pegasus the wraith have made it common and so she knows torren will be raised on stories of her? how does ronon lay down and go to sleep knowing he's one of the last member of sateda and the already dying world has lost one more warrior?
how does rodney lay down knowing he failed everyone?

"I think when i originally pitched this story they were like insect-like aliens but everyone sorta decided 1) that’s a lot more expensive 2) it never really works quite as well considering the amount of like physical interaction we were going to have with them. So we decided on humanoid aliens but i just love the way these guys look."
"And i think people really enjoyed the aliens too because i think i remember reading a lot about uh, 'hey are we going to see those guys again?'
"I know. I wish we had. By that point in the season, you know, we already knew what our ten and eleven were going to be and so obviously there is a new alien race that's introduced in ten and eleven or new to the Pegasus Galaxy. So we were like well do we bring them back? Or if we're going to bring another alien race back we should probably bring the ones that are introduced in First Contact. And we ended up not bringing them back either because by that point in time i think we had developed up to fourteen or fifteen and we had five more episodes left and we knew the show was coming to an end so we had to wrap up storylines and we had things to deal with Todd and the Wraith."

cw for some mild body horror/gore
nosferatu adam concept i was plucking away at today, realized that with portraits i'm missing half the customization fun w nossie limbs so couldn't go too ham with variation. wanted to try and base off of lineage and have an appearance that looks mary-esque, one that's casimir-esque, elaine-esque, and then inspiration struck with me trying out a kindred the embraced daedalus look for funsies that went full cenobite that i'm actually really into and sort of fits the v5 nosferatu redux
basically his skin keeps growing over his mouth so every time he wants to feed he's gotta rip it open and talking is difficult
i feel like it's a fun modern mix of mary's curse inflicted pain with her spikes, casimir and athanasia's fucked up jaw situation, and elaine's body falling apart

SGA fic: An inevitability (Sheppard/other; E; ~3800 words)
Summary: John knows what's going to happen from the first time they really touch.
Notes: This was supposed to be a short, smutty pwp John/AU space battle orcs (an AU version of the parallel universe aliens from the Daedalus Variations...) but instead it went in a different direction that I did not expect when I started writing it.
Snippet: John knows what's going to happen from the first time they really touch. He knows it as soon as something clicks in his head, telling him that the aliens are flesh-and-blood but not, that they're Ancient technology at their core, but different from the city; that they're more and less.
He clamps down on the thoughts, ignores them as Rodney, Zelenka, and Kusanagi talk excitedly about the merging of technology and biology and Carson sits, calmly answering questions about surgery and what he'd need to get at the core components that John can feel are wrong, malfunctioning and slowing everything down. He looks over to where their guest – as much as someone can be a guest when he'd walked right through the gate shield like it wasn't even there - is standing, next to a doorway he'd barely fit under.
