There are a few things: a block of text (formatting!!), excessive crying or sappiness, excessive fluff (unless it's like, animal fluff and the fic is about an explosion of fluff and the hilarious attempts to deal with that or something). Also, terrible grammar (not an odd thing here or there, but consistently bad grammar and also, spelling).

There are a bunch of tags that will make me not click on a fic in the first place, so this is all assuming that said tags aren't there!

Maybe...this is a b-team fic, with the addition of clone!Carson. Lorne, Parrish, clone!Carson, and glasses!Marine head off to the mainland, to do some real science! Lorne gets his geology hat back on, Parrish is looking at flowers, glasses!Marine has a minor in zoology, and Carson is just along for the ride. Well, he wants to talk to Parrish about botany, because he started thinking a bit about that while he was Michael's prisoner, because hey, a man needs to kill time when he's locked in a cell, lonely and sad.

Then they stumble upon a small, sheep-like creature that...climbs trees?

"How do they even do that with little hooves?" clone!Carson asks glasses!Marine as they watch, astonished by the nimble hooves of smallish almost-sheep.

Surprise! The smallish almost-sheep also shed a hallucinogenic compound from their not-quite-wool covered bodies.

Cue shenanigans, confusion, Parrish still looking at flowers, but this time dreamily, and a fierce, incoherent argument between Lorne, clone!Carson, and glasses!Marine about the scientific method.

When they all finally sober up, the small almost-sheep are nowhere to be found. This leaves questions - Were they really that small? Where did they go? And did they really climb trees on tiny hooves? Or was that the first set of hallucinations?

(And later, back on Atlantis, Parrish wonders if the sheep had actually been there in the first place, and if they'd inhaled a hallucinogenic compound from something else and then hallucinated the sheep, because, naturally, it would make more sense for a hallucinogenic compound to come from flora rather than fauna)

This is Kaylee Frye POV fic about how she went and got her job on Serenity.

Summary: You know those days where you meet someone who's gonna change your life in some way, but you don't know it, because mostly you were watching him watching you with a real speculative look in his eye? And then he asks if you want to see his place, and you figure why not, but then that place is both nicer than you'd expect, but also, he don't take care of it none? Kaylee figured she was having one of those days, and in her book, those days had always ended up real shiny.

Oooh! I feel like this is a Cam Mitchell POV fic, and he's just like, "Dang it," and "I should have known," after SG1 finds themselves in a ridiculous (but serious) jam. Maybe they've been captured, and they're in the midst of being fought over by some Goa'uld (Ba'al clones?) and a couple other Bad Guys.

They're all at each others' throats about who's gonna get the prize of SG1 of the Taur'i, and it's kind of nerve-wracking, but also full on posturing nonsense, and Cam is muttering things like "there'd be days like this, mama said," and Teal'c looks at him, and asks, "Did your mother possess prescient abilities, Colonel Mitchell?" and Cam can't tell if Teal'c is shitting him right now or if he's serious (Sam absolutely knows, but she's not telling).

"And if so, could we not have anticipated this turn of events?" Teal'c continues, because he is bored with watching this Bad Guy power play.

(Eventually they get out of the bind, but not before Teal'c asks more Questions, and Cam figures out that the day is just going to continue to be nonsense).

Summary: When Evan transferred to Atlantis, he hadn't expected this. (AKA, Colonel Sheppard sometimes needs to get his head back together, and Evan's got what he needs). (2500 words, E-rated)

2- Title: A Kind of Freedom

Summary: On those days, John hates the Air Force, he hates Stargate Command, and he hates the fucking ATA gene. (An AU where John leaves the Air Force, but is forced to re-enlist due to the ATA gene). (3060 words, M-rated)

For reference mine was I was so mad at the canon ending for my favourite character in an otome game that I wrote fanfic to fix it
