FelixCartoons' half of an art trade with me, featuring my character Asante.
I absolutely love the way this turned out! The joy and wonder of Asante's expression, and the layers of lighting are absolutely *chef's kiss*

My relationship with The Lion Guard is that I don't think that it's good but I do think it's fun and interesting.
Like from a writing perspective I think the show is very lacking in some areas and it just goes completely bonkers introducing actual magic powers and deeper lore to the Lion King world. Not to mention Bunga who is a mortal sin in and of himself just by existing.
But there's also so much fun stuff to engage with. The new characters. The expansion of the lore. Traveling beyond the Pride Lands. Seeing Scar return. Good hyenas, for the first time (Asante doesn't count she's not canon). Canon Scar backstory. New species we never saw before in the actual TLK movies. Some good songs and impressive puppet animation. Getting to know more stuff about TLK characters we already knew.
So yeah while I think this objectively is not a very good show I still have fun with it.

My "Take" on Kopa's Death + HC
Am I the only one who thinks the whole "Zira killed Kopa" theory makes no sense when you look into it? Because to me, there are a lot of holes that this theory brings.
Simba was ready to kick Scar's ass when he saw him put his hands on his mother, and Nala was the first to jump at Scar when finding out he was a murdering piece of shit.
If they found out that Zira killed Kopa as retaliation for an act that he was innocent of, there would've been nothing stopping either of them from icing the bitch. And I believe that they definitely would've done more to keep Kiara safe than sending a meerkat and a warthog after her (that's not even going into how Simba would never send his young son to defend the country if he had lost his first-born to violence).
To put it simply, the way I see it, if Simba and Nala lost their son to any sort of violence or major Shakespearian-like tragedy it would've had a horrible effect on them later on.
So here's my HC on Kopa's story and his absence from the second film that I personally believe would make more sense in my timeline:
Going by human years (because I think it would be more interesting and complex for them to age like humans, and to make guessing characters' ages easier), Kopa/Fluffy would be a year older than Kiara and Kion.
Kopa was presented as the future King of the Pridelands, meanwhile Kiara was presented as the second-in-line for the throne if something happened to Kopa (girls wouldn't be allowed on the Lion Guard until Kion's leadership, but I can see Simba making an exception to present Kiara to the Pridelands).
Kion wouldn't be born until a year after that. So all 3 cubs have a one-year gap between one another:
[Events in my HC that follow come after the presentations of the two cubs we see in the films + Kion's off-screen birth, but before Kiara's first scene as a cub in TLK II]
Simba and Nala spent most of their time teaching Kopa the ways of monarchy and how to become a good King, to which Kopa was very excited to become. When Kopa was 6, he met the hyena cub, Asante, who turned out to be the daughter of Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed, the 3 hyenas who aided Scar in taking over the Pridelands.
Kiara, as next-in-line for the throne, and Kion, who would become leader of the Lion Guard despite not yet knowing it, would try and tag along with Kopa, but he'd often be too busy hanging out with his other friends, or being mentored by his parents + grandparents: So whilst they loved him and supported him, they were never the closest to him.
Things were relatively stable up until Kopa's 9th birthday: Kopa caught an infection (be it the flu or whatever you may). Everyone at first worked to heal him, but eventually learned that Kopa would not survive:
So ultimately, the pride had to say goodbye to Kopa and accept his loss. Obviously it wasn't easy for any of them, but they were able to slowly get over the loss, including Kopa's siblings:
No violent or sudden death. Just the Circle of Life, (at its cruelest).
Kopa and Kiara were 8 and 6 by then. Kiara would meet Kovu when she was 9 and Kion was 8. By the time Kiara and Kion were both in double-digits is when the events of TLG come up.

I’ve been seeing some other artists on DeviantArt do this TLK meme made by MalisTLK and I decided to give it a whirl! Thought it would be fun to share my take on some of the semi-canon TLK characters. Uru: King Ahadi’s second mate, Uru was born to a rogue lioness who abandoned her near the Pridelands’ border when she was just a toddler. After the death of her first cub, Ahadi allows her to be a wetnurse for his son Mufasa after his own mother passed away suddenly when he was just a week old. The two of them gradually began to develop feelings for each other and eventually became mates, with Uru later having a son named Taka. Ahadi: The long awaited firstborn of King Mohatu and Queen-Consort Furaha, as well as the littermate of Uaminifu and Hazina. Ahadi is very patient, and believes to value his subjects above all else and will go wherever duty leads him. While he loves both of his sons equally he ends up showing a bit of favoritism towards his oldest Mufasa, which just adds to his younger son’s jealousy towards his brother. Ahadi lives long enough to see his son Taka, now going by the name “Scar”, seize control of the Pridelands and run it into ruin. Mheetu: Son of Sarafina and Chenza, as well as the littermate of Nala. His real name is actually Mwitu, but his eagerness to join others in playing ended up earning him the nickname “Mheetu” from his peers. Mwitu ends up being exiled after he and some other male lions were caught plotting to overthrow Scar. He ends up returning home after Scar is overthown and fathers Zuri with a cubhood friend named Adia. Kopa: The illegitemate son of Nala and Chumvi, as well as the littermate of Kiara. Kopa was conceived when Nala sought comfort from Chumvi after the “death” of her and Simba’s daughter, Aisha. Not wanting Simba to know about her infidelity, Nala has Kopa smuggled out of the Pridelands shortly after his birth and is given to his father to raise, who ends up naming him after his deceased brother Makopa. Kopa grows up healthy and happy in the pride his father lives in and makes plenty of friends, one of which is a hyena named Asante. She and Kopa end up developing feelings towards each other when they’re older, which their respective loved ones don’t exactly approve of. Afua: Son of Ni and Kula, as well as Kopa’s cousin. He is Kopa’s closest friend out of all the other cubs in the Msingi Pride and is the only one who knows about his secret friendship with the hyena cub Asante. He later becomes mates with King Malka’s daughter, Banou. Amani: Son of Queen Kiara and Prince-Consort Kovu, as well as the older brother of Upendi and Atile. He really admires his grandfather Simba and aspires to be just like him someday.

October 23, 2019: 6:30 pm:
I just returned from running errands in socio-terrfic Dystopia,, Grants Pass Oregon.
No help has come.
There is no sign of helpful people anywhere.
I was followed around by the same individuals as always follow me around.
Two-tone blue and white Chevrolet four wheel drive long bed 1975-ish model, all beat up, big wheels and beautiful old truck, follows me around.
Oregon Licence: (TLK)? 888
Orange Volkswagen cabriolet, with sign on door “Pet Services and Sitting” Oregon License: LDY BUG
Orange Dodge Challenger, newer model at Abby’s Pizza, always pulls in there when I go to that parking lot.
I saw “Will” “William” Former employee at Long Board Lumber, Merlin Oregon (out of business, LB Lumber is no linger there) Paul Birch, Owner.
Paul Birch is an SDA terror cell leader, also has business and property in Newport Oregon.
“Will” was one of the people who built “Bomb Carts” at the lumber yard. The Bombs were said to be aerial ordinance, the carts were capable of carrying 1,000 lb’s or more, made of dimensional lumber, plywood, and heavy caster wheels. Bombs were located (may still be) near Three Rivers Medical Center at a cabinet shop near a place called “C&K’s Shop small engine repair”. Also, bombs are at the nearby “Maternity Shop”, (I don’t remember the names of the cabinet shop or the maternity shop.)
Will made the “bomb carts” for Paul Birch owner of Long Board Lumber company.
Will was at the Walgreens, pretending to be me.
Will has long hair, pony tail, is thin and tall, is about 42 years old, white, has a tattoo on  his right calf, on the back, it’s a circle, about four inches in diameter, with some tribal designs within. I did not get close enough to make out any more of it. It has some color, but is mostly lines. Will had a small dog today, a Dachshund at the Walgreens. He said “I’ve been made” when he heard me talking about him, and he left the store in a hurry.
One more time: William made about 500 “bomb carts” for Paul Birch. Each cart capable of carrying 1,000 lbs easily, with wheels suitable for a concrete floor, not an offroad capable cart. Carts were approximately four feet square at the base, and had one side that stood tall, like a backstop, also about four feet tall. The carts were made between 2004, and 2006. Bombs were said to be at the caninet shop mentioned, and the maternity shop nearby C&K’s Lawnmower Shop on Ramsey Avenue near the Asante hospital.
I never saw the bombs, however. I was close to the cart making for three years.
The area around Asante TRMC has a network of tunnels and underground rooms and chambers. It has been said that you van get from the Walmart, and the Sheriff’s office behind the Walmart, and go underground through tunnels, all the way to the Asante TRMC hospital.
I know for a fact that you can get from the Sheriff’s office to the Walmart and the Fred Meyer and the DMV by using a system if underground tunnels. I saw the tunnels being bored, in about 2009, near the Sherriff’s office, and at the Greyhound bus station. I observed as an Elon Musk style tunnel boring machine surface at the Grey Hound Bus station. A giant hole drilling machine that is exactly like the ones that you can see on You Tube Videos.
Later, at the Burger King, I saw the same people and circumstances that are always there. A lap top computer on one of the tables is always thete with no one around who seems to own it. Also, a black bag that the computer could go into, and some small items. No one is around that computer, opened, and on teh table, and, it’s been there for at least six months.
I saw the SDA terror soldier, who has four kidnapped children he is training to do terror activities. He also has an attractive young women, who appears to mother of one of the children. The SDA man, always seats the group in the same place, and the small children are always instructed to come hang around near me on the other side of the dining area, They just sort of hover around, and move from table to table, then go back to the SDA terror soldier that controls them.
The young women is dressed in the kind of clothing that is like a graphic puzzle that you can read. Tight pants, teal colored cowboy boots, and long blonde hair. She is a “rider” and she is controlled by that SDA man, who was wearing a blue tee-shirt today. That man also follows me to Walmart sometimes. I am going to have to take him out next time I see him. He is bad news. Short hair, balding, about 50 years old, 200 lbs, and a candy ass terror bastard who uses children and women. The woman cannot go anywhere or run away, because there are fifty thousand terror soldiers in Josephine county who are all connected via Blu-Tooth comm.
There was a lot more that happened, I could write for hours about just this one trip. and explain much about terror take-over, but there are no helpful people and writing just makes it more difficult to survive.
No one is reading these posts. No one responds to them.
The baby is on fire, and there is no one watching the baby.
StoneMan unscathed.

Who is Kopa? by Panther85
I have noticed there's a lot of confusion about this character for many people, especially those new in the fandom. Many times you'll see new fans asking who Kopa is, and the older fans instead of being objective and tell them the truth about him (that he's from the books, etc…), they lie to them (intentionally or not) and start talking about how he was killed by Zira and many other things that were made by fans and were never in any official material published by Disney. So I made this pic along with this description with the purpose of providing with accurate information about Kopa so new fans would not get confused.
Ok first thing first, who is Kopa?
Kopa is Simba and Nala's son, he appeared is a collection of books called “The Lion King: Six New Adventures” and in two German audio books called “Friends for Life” and “Fight for the Throne”. These books were published by Disney sometime in 1994 just after the original film was released in theaters. In these stories Kopa was the only royal cub, he looked just like Simba when he was young except for a little mane tuff similar to Kovu's. His personality was pretty much like that of his father too and he loved to hear stories.
How was Kopa's life in these books?
Most of the time he was listening to stories told by his parents and other characters from the film, he had a friend called Afua, in one of the audio books he befriends a female hyena named Asante (yeah, very similar to Kion and Jasiri). One time he got lost and meet some vultures and had a few misadventures, but in the end he came home safe with his family. In short, all these stories had a happy ending for him (they were children books after all).
Now, before we continue with Kopa…
When it comes to fiction, there are these words I’m going to use that you need to know to understand what I’m going to explain next. These words are: canon, semi-canon and fanon (or fan made). I’m going to use them specifically within The Lion King franchise.
Canon: It means the characters, places and stories are official. This is the definitive version in any work of fiction. For The Lion King that is, the original movie, Simba's Pride and, as far as I know, The Lion Guard. Not sure about the status of TLK 1 ½, though.
Semi-canon: It means the characters, places and stories appeared in merchandise published by Disney but they are not considered official. That is, the books, the comics, magazines, toys, video games, the Timon and Pumbaa series, etc. Deleted scenes and characters that were going to appear in the films but never made it, fall in this category as well.
Fanon or fan made: Anything that was created by fans; fan art, fan fiction, fan comics, etc. These are NOT considered official by any means.
The company who owns the work of fiction, in this case Disney, has the final word regarding what's considered canon and what's semi-canon.
Back to Kopa…
As I mentioned, he only appeared in the books, hence he is considered semi-canon along with those stories. You can think of TLK timeline as separate universes; they all start with the first film, then after the ending it splits into different continuities. One of them leads to Simba’s Pride/The Lion Guard in which Kiara and Kion exists, and another leads to the books in which Kopa exist.
The films and the books/audio books DO NOT belong in the same continuity. That means the Outsiders like Zira, Nuka, Vitani and Kovu never meet nor interacted with Kopa in any way. So no, Kopa was NOT, I repeat, NOT killed by Zira nor he ran far away from home and was certainly NOT in love with Vitani. The Outsiders simply did not exist or were even mentioned in any of the books. Likewise, Kopa does not exist in the Simba's Pride/The Lion Guard continuity. Every time you see artwork, read a story, a comic or anything that have Kopa in love with Vitani or was murdered by Zira, is entirely FAN MADE. Mind you, that’s not to say they are bad, many artist/writers have made amazing stories with those themes, but you need to remember they are made by fans like you and none of those character interactions and events appears in any material published by Disney, neither canon nor semi-canon.
The cub at the end of the original film:
Another common debate in the fandom is about the identity of the cub at the end of the first movie. Let me explain, when TLK was released in 1994 they didn't have any plans for a sequel, for a short time according to some deleted scene, the cub was going to be a boy during production, but it was scrapped and at the end Rafiki just presented a genderless cub who was jokingly nicknamed “Fluffy” by the producers. When production of Simba's Pride began they planned (again) for the cub to be male and be named “Chaka” who was going to be Kiara’s brother. Sometime later they dropped Chaka and decided they only wanted one cub; of course in order to make it unique they had to redesign “Fluffy” and gave it an official gender and name and became Kiara.
The people who worked on Simba's Pride and the people who worked on “The Lion King: Six New Adventures” were two completely different teams. The SP producers had no idea those books with Kopa existed, and the writers/illustrators who made the books didn't know anything about the script for the sequel movie.
As I said before, the movies and the books are different continuities, so if you follow the canon/TLK/SP/TLG continuity Fluffy became Kiara. In contrast, If you follow the books continuity then Fluffy became Kopa, as simple as that. _________________________________________________________
If you didn't want to read this huge post, here's a TL;DR of it:
1- Kopa is Simba and Nala's son in “The Lion King: Six New Adventures” books and in two German audio books called “Friends for Life” and “Fight for the Throne”. 2- These book falls under the semi-canon category and are a different continuity from Simba's Pride/The Lion Guard. 3- The cub at the end of TLK was a genderless cub nicknamed “Fluffy” by the producers who later became Kiara in the Simba's Pride continuity, and Kopa in the books continuity. 4- The Outsiders/Outlanders do not exist in the books and Kopa do not exist in the movies. 5- Kopa DID NOT DIE in any material published under the Disney label, neither canon nor semi-canon.
6- All those stories with Kopa falling in love with Vitani and being murdered by Zira are entirely FAN MADE.
I hope this made some things clear for new and old Lion King fans alike.
_________________________________________________________
About the art itself, I went with the books style for Kopa, or “Simba Jr” as I’ve been calling him lately XD, as that's the way you're going to see him in the illustrations in those books. I came up with this nickname as he reminds me about those characters from classic cartoons in which the son is a mini version of the father and is called “name of the father” plus Junior. This is not intended to be offensive to Kopa or his fans, ok? Just to clear that out. It's just a little joke.
