For the Star Days ahead

I know what I said about not being super satisfied with how Ticker is handled in-game before but. That Star Days dialogue. MAN that Star Days dialogue made me cry a little.

"Star Days are all about the things that keep these planets spinning. Love, Stardust. Love in all its forms. The love of a planet for a stranger who turned their fortunes around. That would be you, Stardust. Give love away, and it multiplies. We rarely know what we mean to others. Ticker means to change that."

"We've got two families: biological and logical. Roky taught me that one. Star Day is for both those families… and anyone else besides."

"Love isn't just for lovers, Stardust. It's for friends, family, your bestest Kavat. Love is an act of forgiveness, a tender look, a silent understanding. Today is about all of us and knowing that we have more binding us together than. Pushing. Us. Apart."

This game really knows how to hit me right in the heart.

Ticker & Star Days

I'm once again going to use the new land to store my MANY thoughts on things.

My favorite event in Warframe has to be Star Days. not because of its rewards or how you go about getting them, but entirely because of Ticker. She has, with ought a doubt, some of the best lines and writing in warframe (in my opinion of course). I usually don't like valentines events in games for a few reasons, but the biggest is that they tend not to focus on love as a concept. Ticker however, she understands!

the whole idea of Star Days, in Tickers own words, is it help people understand what they mean to others. Warframe takes place in a DEEPLY dark and oppressive universe rich with conflict and danger. EVERYONE is suffering in some way, even the factions we the players fight are often cruel to their own members. Ticker understands this for obvious reasons and seeks to make her own small little celebration to try and show others the good that still exists in the world. 

She has so many Star Days quotes that have really stuck with me and I'm sometimes taken aback by this being a merchant NPC in a free to play game LOL. She is a woman who has suffered through the same hellish conditions as anyone else in Fortuna so she KNOWS how bad it can get, and so not only does she help people pay off their debt, she takes time to set up this little community event all to help people understand they are loved. It didn't start as a community thing either, it was originally just for one person, but she later went on to share it with all of us. Love is an important and beautiful thing that takes so many forms. The love you have for your partner, the love for a pet, the love you share with your best friend, or maybe your love for a specific location. its a wonderful feeling that keeps us afloat during hard times and reminds us that things can always get better, and Ticker understands that.

*sigh* another star days I can't buy stuff for because my switch is a bitch. on the plus side I can see all the cool dialogue on pc and hang out with my girl and isn't that what love is all about?
