I've got one for lone star and another one for the og show !! they're separate aus for now but I might consider combining them for funsies <333 something about me is that I also love to fuck w worldbuilding a bit. so I see the concept for pacific rim and I raise you some more batshit concepts <3333 mostly I'm messing around with the worldbuilding surrounding the Drift+everything about that, as well as some of the mechanics of Shatterdomes and how they function at top efficiency and shit like that <33

911 lone star

TK grew up on the Shatterdome because both his parents were Jaeger pilots. Owen died in a battle when TK was pretty little (<3) and when TK got old enough, he became Gwyn's new copilot until she gets killed during a mission and TK has to kill the Kaiju and finish the op by himself. he wakes up in the medbay a few weeks later, and tries to stay on as a pilot but he has his mother's eyes and everyone who looks at him only sees her. and he fucking misses his mom. so he leaves and joins the construction teams.

Judd and Mateo are copilots (brothers <3333) and Grace is the chief technician at LOCCENT (Tendo Choi's position in the movie btw). Paul and Marjan are copilots, and Nancy, Tim, and Tommy were copilots in a 3-armed Jaeger, but all three are injured during a battle gone wrong and Tim dies in the medbay. their Jaeger is taken apart and rebuilt as a 2-pilot Jaeger, and Nancy and Tommy become a 2-person crew instead. Tommy's girls (and Charlie, when she's born) live at the Shatterdome with their parents, and all 3 crews (4, when TK comes back) share a communal living space (individual sleeping spaces + communal bathrooms/living areas/dining areas) above the launch bay that holds all their Jaegers. the entire Shatterdome is organized like this, with squadrons made up of several Jaeger teams all living/fighting together as a unit. <33

Carlos is one of the candidates for piloting a Jaeger (ofc.) he joined the PPDC after his dad was killed inside a Jaeger (and I will be getting into Carlos perpetuating the narrative cycle <333) and when they reactivate TK's old Jaeger, Judd volunteers to be the one to go get him (because they're BROTHERS <33) and so that's how tarlos end up as copilots <3333

I don't really have anything else after this other than vibes but there WILL be a scene where after winning their first battle, TK loses consciousness and goes into a coma because the ptsd and physical toll was a little Too Much. and since he was In The Drift when he lost consciousness he's kinda!! trapped in there!!! and Gwyn is there because she's become the Drift. she died in the Drift and now she's part of it. so TK's in the Drift Mindscape talking to his mom (baking cookies!!!!!!) while his body is fighting to survive. and since he's trapped in the Drift, the only thing they can do to save him is send Carlos in after him!!! so Carlos also gets to be part of the mindscape vision <333333333333333

another scene I have is Tommy and Nancy both going down in a fight and the remnants of Tim's essence still contained inside their Drift takes over the Jaeger and pilots them to safety because I will write about the Drift blurring the lines between life and death if it kills me !!!

now for Jaeger names!!!!

TK and Gwyn: Harmony Echo

TK and Carlos: Glory Echo (get it because it's an ECHO of the last Jaeger yet something entirely new??? Jaeger names are the PERFECT opportunity to make some symbolism so by god I will do that)

Judd and Mateo: Outlaw Hustler (I couldn't resist giving Judd a cowboy Jaeger name. I'm right about that <33)

Paul and Marjan: Cobalt Stalker

Nancy, Tommy, and Tim: Paragon Jigsaw

Nancy and Tommy: Paragon Rebel

kinda similar vibes with the Jaeger squadrons all living together because that's a fuckin good trope and I'm a sap <333

Hen and Chim are copilots, obviously. they deserve it <333 Karen is the chief Jaeger mechanic, so she designs the Jaegers and heads up the construction crews, and also is in charge of repairs/maintenance. Maddie is one of the LOCCENT technicians, along with Josh and Linda, with Sue being the chief tech <3

Athena and Michael used to be copilots, but their connection was damaged in a battle that put them both in the hospital and prevented them from being able to Drift again. so May became Athena's new copilot, and Michael becomes one of the mechanics (Michael and Karen bestie-ship is what I'm saying <33) and also. mothers and their daughters. that is all <3

Bobby is the Marshal, and his whole family was killed in one of The Very First Kaiju Attacks. thus, his whole mission to protect the world from them because by god he has a lot of penance to pay

Buck and Daniel were copilots, and even with his cancer, Daniel fought as long and hard as he could. but eventually he couldn't fight anymore, and because Buck's DNA wasn't a match, they couldn't save him from the illness. and Buck's parents were so distraught over their (favorite) son dying that Buck Drifted with Daniel as he died to try and save him, or at least give some comfort. and Daniel tried to stop him because he didn't want that for his little brother but you know how little brothers are. they don't listen. so Buck got to feel Daniel grow weaker and weaker and finally just. die. and after that he threw himself into training with the Drift because surely his mind could be good for something!!! but he isn't compatible with anyone else!!! and he keeps lobbying Bobby to give him a chance but there isn't anything Bobby can do about it!!! and Buck knows that but he also wants to get out there and do something because he can't escape his parents' contempt and maybe if he kills some Kaiju that can change!!!!

Eddie and Shannon were copilots until Shannon is killed during battle, and Eddie finishes the fight alone. he takes Christopher inland for a few years to grieve and try to move on, but then they recommission Eddie's old Jaeger and they need him back. and predictably, Eddie and Buck become copilots <333

and ik these descriptions are focusing specifically on a certain relationship dynamic but just know that I FULLY intend on expanding on all of them equally because this is a FOUND FAMILY soulmate au more than anything else <333 I believe in equal treatment in the workplace <333

My ideal future would be to be a mortuary house director who kind of dips her paw into all parts of the process (helping grieving families, coffin design and pricing, cosmetic and embalming procedures) which would both provide the income AND the challenge of asserting kindness, driving community, and working towards a death positive future. And. most importantly. It gets me one step closer to somehow getting family permission to take a part of someone’s body and just fuck around and find out and make some REALLY weird art.

chaps 500-501 sorry im late guys

okay so first thing even though it might be obvious i feel like vin and taejin have had such a parallel life if that makes sense? like obviously taejin was bought up with everything and anything that he wanted (and taught that everything was his) and we did see at the start that he was decently kind(?) to vin as a child, but only bc he viewed vin as his property. we do see this like attitude start changing as he grows up tho, where he doesnt see the need to treat his 'property' aka other ppl well anymore (rip sujin) and really just takes what he wants from them. he also really just wants everything to be his at this point, as seen when he's like excited at his father's death bc it means that he has more power. so vin has obviously had like a very traumatic childhood, but somehow vin and taejins lives still seem very in parallel

especially in that scene bc its like showing their attachment(idk how else to describe it) to cheonliang, but for starkly different reasons. wait more like how they're both fighting for cheonliang, but while vin(and the other ppl sry idk what theyre called) are fighting purely for the memory of sujin and seongji(rip), taejin is fighting so that he can claim it as his AS SEEN WHEN THE LITTLE BITCH SHOWS UP WHEN THEYRE DECIDING THE LEADER.

OMG THE DISRESPECT I CANT. I WANT TO PUT HIM INTO A FUCKING MEAT GRINDER. (writing this i have to keep reminding myself that the way he acts is a result of his upbringing BUT STILL DOES NOT JUSTIFY HIS ACTIONS RIUGSDFHJKNXMCSDFJKX)

This might be a bit of an intrusive question, so zero pressure to answer, but what’s your favourite tropes and why? (Feel free to reply to only the first part, I recognise the second is somewhat often private and personal) (P.S it’s FragileWriter - functioning technology is brilliant!! I can go on apps again! Whoo!)

In the name of fairness, one of my all time favourite tropes is the comfort element of character A fiercely protecting and defending B in their abscence; bonus points if they scheme and plot to bring B’s enemy down - but the icing on the cake is if B walks in and is left stunned at being sided with. Undying loyalty all the way, but also I just love the comrade of people being so loyal to one another that they’ll defend each other no matter what.

It’s kind of healing to write tbh 😅

Characters bonding around a warm, cosy fire via trauma stories and deep personal conversations complete with humorous exchanges is another favourite. Again, I love the unity aspect and I’m not one for small talk so I love getting into the nitty gritty.

Plus, there’s something almost symbolic about characters being in a secluded or isolated place, left to fend for themselves in the elements and forced to be in the dark, but surrounded by the light and warmth of friends or begrudging company. I like when characters are forced to be vulnerable with themselves and one another, or rather, when they choose to be.

And on that note, I shall end with long ramble with; I hope you’re having a brilliant day/night 💗

AH IM SO EXCITED TO ANSWER THIS ASK!!!!

so in response to my fav trope (i have several but ill just pick a few). i LOVE genre clashes!! i love throwing a tragedy-built character into a romance, or a childrens-comedy-built character into a murder mystery thriller!!! i think exploring how two opposing things mesh and fill in each others cracks can be so fun!!!! (like when the childrens comedy character escapes murder by the culprit bc their looney toons physics defies mortality)

i ALSO love whump where one character just has the everloving SHIT beat out of them!! i find it so satisfying to write and read for some reason <3 soooo good every time. satisfies my little lizard brain hehehehehe

another is when character a is just so down bad and stupid abt it for character b, and even better when its mutual. idiots in love <33333333

weird one for the last one: i love when character a has been kidnapped, all their loved ones plan a rescue op, and then character a manages to unkidnap themselves-- ITS SO FUNNY EVERY TIME!!!! (best example i can think of is suicide squad remake where harley quinn rescues herself and encounters the rest of the squad mid-rescue, but ive written several of my own before that too)

I LOVE UR FAV TROPES AS WELL!!!! those r all so sweet!!!! i love characters scheming together heheheeh <33333 undying loyalty i am SUCH a sucker for ughhh <3333333 and the sharing of trauma is fun as well hehehe

Okay i know i already sent an ask about it but im FINALLY caught up and i -

The timing of this sucks bc my main rbs on @/choism you wont get the notofs for bc i just got SHADOWBANNED and ive been rbing this wntire time and i sont think you were able to see any of it 💀

I try to leave annotations when i can and i rly want to go through and properly annotate the latter half of part 6 and ch 49 for part 7 so im gonna draft those soon but sibdidksncdijsnd

When i tell you i was kicking and screaming like a luttle girl for EVERY TWIST especially that last convo reader had with seonghwa. I think as a reader i could tell what was being implied during th threesome esp given the way hwa has acted in bed in the past and this time san seemed to be more present than hwa did so when hwa FINALLY admitted that to reader i was like "well shit, i knew this was coming but like i didnt think it would actually happen." AND THEN THE SCENE WITH SAN TOWARDS THE ENS

Its giving intrusive thoughts on a whole other level. Not impulsive but fully intrusive (except ir seems like reader wants to act on those thoughts and is more or less coming to terms with it)

Imo reader should just go to minho about ir bc an intrusive thought isnt mwant to be acted upon, its a bad thought and yet san calling her "my treasure" and her finishing is like girl.......come on......

Not that i would be opposed to a hongjoong scene but lets not talk about that yet

I am just always in complete awe in the way you write. I thinm if this was a book it would totally be made into a series of movies in a similar fashion to star wars but 10x darker

it's probably SOOOO obvious that i had the time of my life writing that convo mc had with seonghwa i love writing conflict so much it makes me giggle like a schoolgirl! i feel good about the amount of people who clocked that something was up with seonghwa too bc i tried really hard for there to be this distinct difference between how he behaved with her in the past and how he was right then, and then the nail in the coffin being him bringing up hongjoong and him bringing up a time when mc wasn't even part of the crew - just this moment of this fucker isn't thinking about what's happening in the moment at ALLLL!!!!

you hit the nail on the head fr saying that it's giving intrusive thoughts and this is something that will come back around but we'll see mc wrestling with this idea of not consciously having these thoughts and not necessarily wanting to have these thoughts but they keep coming back around, and we see her dipping into obsession already but how she acts upon those obsessions will really be a turning point for her fr!

but really thank youuuu so much like AHH i'm still so terrible at receiving compliments but thank you! it means the world and more to me! i'm excited for what's to come there's gonna be so many twists and turns that i think are so fun and i'm just so!!! excited to share it all!

I have to say, what made this Daenerys event so exciting and special to me in particular was the abundance of wonderful content made by book!Dany fans for book!Dany fans.

We received three gorgeous edits of Dany's book outfits!!!!!

We received four GLORIOUS gifsets (ALL of them!!!) of Dany's battle plans in Yunkai and Meereen!!!!! (As far as I can tell, there wasn't any for the Meereen strategy aside from a crappy one that I'd made, while the Yunkai plan was quoted before in captions, but was never the focus of the edit.)

We received three gifsets featuring the scene in which Dany visits and looks after the Astapori refugees!!!!! (I’m particularly happy about this one because, as far as I know, there was only one edit featuring this scene until this year. But then I used it for three crappy gifsets and commissioned an amazing fanart of it AND THEN Dany month happened)

We received five gifsets showing the moment in which Dany refuses to wash Hizdahr's feet if he doesn't wash hers first!!!!! (I think there was only one until this event)

We received the best Dany/Mirri Maz Duur edit of all time!!!!!

We received Dany/Daario edits that highlight how their relationship brings out Dany’s romantic and sweet side, as well as her dreams of home and love!!!!! I don't remember any similar one until now.

idk whether the amount of participation in this event was high or low because I'd never joined one before, but this one was a success for me regardless of that. The love, care and attention to book!Dany's character and storyline was really, really evident in every single day!

Ahhhh, I love Daenerys Targaryen!!!!! I love the Dany fandom!!!!! I love my fandom friends (this month was even more special to me because I talk to five of the people who regularly posted content, so I know how clever, talented and kind they are)!!!!! I can’t stop gushing about this event and all the content we got, I feel so incredibly grateful for it. <33333

Killua kinda has a resting grumpy face himself and so you two are literally just walking around both with grumpy faces

KINDA DIFFICULT to approach you guys when you two are standing beside each other,, it’s just the threatening aura that you two give off

And lowkey this is the reason why a lot of people think that you two hate each other asdhfjhs because you two look so unamused and upset when you’re together

BUT dw Killua knows what’s up and he gets that your natural expressions are just different from what people have seen

He laughs VERY hard whenever people ask you if you’re feeling okay or why you’re down and you have to let them know that it’s just your normal face

Shalnark:

Shalnark does not have a resting grumpy face though like Killua, so seeing his smiley expression in comparison to yours is quite amusing

He’s the one that always greets people with a smile and people are very excited to say hi back to him -- but when you do the same thing people often wonder how your mood was able to change so quickly when really it was just your expression

Shalnark honestly doesn’t even realize that you have a resting grumpy face

People will be like ‘are you upset about something?’ to you and Shalnark will be like ‘what do you mean? why are you asking them that? they don’t seem upset to me idk what you’re talking about’

Itadori:

Itadori has literally the softest smile I have ever seen in my entire life and people LOVE that about him -- very easy to approach and talk to

But then Itadori’s resting face compared to yours is also a big contrast like with Shalnark

Itadori definitely realizes that you have a resting grumpy face so he’s not clueless like Shal though, but honestly he doesn’t see the big deal about it so when people act like your face is soooo intimidating and all that Itadori is just like ‘what y’all talking about ??’

He also thinks that your resting grumpy face be kinda cute hehe just your expression and how it reminds him of when you do that cute pout
