Happy birthday deng ♡
21.11.1979 💕 our 39 (!! International age :P) years old idol
Montydeng (current musical) ; our forever TMT (new nickname from lifebar) ; our shcj president ; padakdeng ; oppayam ; Mr. Kim ; Netizen Kim ; 脸王 (visual king if i translate into english?)
His recent haircut really makes me feel like he is aging backwards. Though he has wrinkles, but that makes him more charismatic (maybe because i'm deng bias LOL) 😍
Wish him happiness and healthy all the way! Hope he found his happiness (or being alone can be happy for him.. perhaps? Well, just as long as he's happy~ 😊)

Hii I am a new schj. I wanted to know your thoughts on a few things, I was wondering why is it difficult for to shinhwa achieve all kill & million mv views like other idol groups? Coz shinhwa's popularity is decreasing..? that can't b the case right coz the reason y they hve survived this long is because many love them + shinhwa is already 40 hw long do u think they wil be n the music industry? As a new schj i feel lyk i've missed their best years & now I'll jst see them fr the next 3,4 yrs :/
First of all, welcome to our orange fandom~!!
I think there are many shcjs out there with the same concern as you. This is just my point of view after going through many of their comebacks. Actually there are many reasons as to why it’s hard for Shinhwa to achieve all-kill on music charts and getting millions of mv views in a short period of time, but the biggest factor I believe is manpower. If you’re comparing with groups that are in the current trend with massive fandoms, Shinhwa doesn’t appeal as much to the current kpop fans generation as to the newer and younger groups in general. That’s why we have a small fandom as compared to those groups. With lesser manpower on our hands, we always had to work extra hard to maintain the charting and views, which a lot of times don’t turn out the way we hoped or expected them to be. Like for Sniper, good digital charts, poor mv views, for Touch, poor digital charts, good mv views, even though we worked our asses off for every comeback. And one more thing about digital charting is the general public appeal. Without the general public appeal, it’s a lot harder to get on the top spot of the charts. As for mv views, I think international popularity plays a big part in this, not just in Korea. Again, comparing to the current popular idol groups, Shinhwa isn’t as popular internationally as them. Hence, mv views are much lower. All of the comeback supporting stuff, winning on music shows, they were difficult from the beginning because of a lot of factors including these.
I wouldn’t really say it’s because Shinhwa’s popularity is decreasing, it’s more like fans are getting to know Shinhwa/ coming in at a slower rate. I mean yeah, fans come and go, but a lot still remained, like you said, one of the reasons why they can go on for a long time is because we, shcjs, are still around, still loving and supporting them. Not sure if you have heard of this saying: The members exists because Shinhwa exists, Shinhwa exists because Shinhwa Changjo exists, Shinhwa Changjo exists because Shinhwa exists.
“Shinhwa Changjo doesn’t exist because Shinhwa does, Shinhwa exist because Shinhwa Changjo does. Shinhwa isn’t forgotten and can continue on because there are fans. The nickname of the ‘longest-running idol’ is ultimately made by the fans.” (Shin Hyesung)[Cr: malpabo.tumblr]
You asked how long I think they’ll be in the music industry, for sure Shinhwa will keep going for as long as they can and for as long as shcjs are around. Number of years wise I don’t know, but for the fact that they are Shinhwa, you can trust that they’d still be around for quite some time. Don’t worry too much, it’s better now than later to have joined this fandom ^^

Actor MOON Jung-Hyuk vs. Shinhwa Leader Eric MUN.
There is no doubt that the Superstar Power of Actor MOON Jung-Hyuk (through one or more of his leading roles in Korean dramas) played a big part in reeling in and converting many international KDrama Fans into Followers of the SHINHWA Brand of Kpop. Like me, I’m sure for many of these “Converts”, it probably was a shocking experience to have been exposed for the very first time, to Kpop and the fast-paced Korean style of TV Variety Shows and Entertainment. [In fact, it took me a while to realise that Shinhwa was not a News Agency and that Shinhwa Broadcast was not a Show produced by them!]
After the initial Culture Shock, and Language Deficit, there was the REALITY CHECK ~that the suave, charming, handsome, reticent Man often portrayed in the Dramas is NOT the same as the one fooling around with his band of boisterous boys. So for awhile, I was sitting on the fence trying to make out who or what these “Aliens” were. It didn’t help either that there was a time lapse before the English Subs came out.
QUESTION: Who is better and more popular~ Actor MOON or Shinhwa Leader/Rapper Eric MUN?
From the way new and dormant KDrama Fans came out of the woodwork to invade the Shinhwa Tag on Tumblr with gifs and swoony posts each time Eric appeared on a Drama or Reality series, I would think it was Actor MOON that has outshined his Other Half ~which is really sad. While not taking anything away from Eric (who has been an inspiration as a Leader these past 19 years), I wonder how many of these KDrama Addicts are really “Shinhwa Changjos” who buy their Albums, know all their songs by heart and root equally for all 6 Shinhwa members as a Group?
For me, it will always be SHINHWA ERIC first. Call me Hardline or Radical but I’ve given up watching Actor MOON, and have not and will not watch him on “Oh Hae Young Again” nor that “Fishing Village” Reality Show, nor do I have any interest in catching up on his old Dramas. The same goes with the Dramas of the other members too, including Kim Dongwan. It’s SHINHWA all the way (Yes, SHCJs, let’s do all we can to keep them as a Group as long as possible).
Anyway, HAPPY BIRTHDAY ERIC. 💕🎂🎈

Now i’m so scared to go into news site… i still cant believe jjong has leave this world… this makes me thought of going to see them in real life. As an international fan, we have limited chances to see them real life… i saw some comments that they cried and regret themselves that they wait for a good chance to watch a concert of all OT5… but… 🙁🙁😔
Those people who leave hateful comments to the news article (not alot, but i’m shocked to see there are still some of them.. wtf) should really think for themselves if they still have heart anot.
As shcj, I was waiting for next year’s 20th anniversary and this really make me think whether should i wait again (as it was on march, i will be in school since i have midterms on that month 😣 plus nearing to finals) or just go for it…
Also, this make me worried about all idol’s mental health and as oppayam’s fan (bias), some of his actions/expression make me recall back how he feel so sad and depressed sometimes.
Also to rest of the members, eric who is under alot of stress and critism from those idiotic netizens/anti (no idea why they want to waste their time on hating ppl), minwoo, andy, jinnie, hyesung (from their scandals etc… )
I hope all celebrities (not only singers, but actor/actresses etc) open up about seeking help and society can accept that this is a normal illness (not becoming a stigma). As someone who gotten mild depression before, i know how it feels when the whole world feels shitty and nobody could understand you... and sometimes even when you know u did well, the sad emotion is still there and you dont know why... ) but i'm not in a position that really can talk about depression in deep..
In jjong's case.. there are alot of 'what if' as to what if he's just a normal person, what if there was someone who can understand him and give him a positive energy to tell him one reason for him to live everyday... He may not meet this person in this life, but i hope in heaven, he can let go of this life's tiredness and watch over his lovely fans, those real fans who really supported him throughout his life. As well his 4 brothers, sisters, mother and his close friends. Or maybe next life, if he were to reincarinate, he can live his life happily, not passing away with sorrow feelings.
Sorry jonghyun, that we have failed you, but please remember in this life, there are many people who still love you.
Just a heartfelt thoughts when i try to read his articles... honestly, it still break my heart and i try to hold back my tears (since i'm in hostel, i cant be crying since there are other ppl around)...
