this isn’t for anyone in particular, but just so you guys know, if you take any inspiration from my stuff in any way (whether it be my characters, my layout/theme, or my works themelves) please please please give credit for it, especially if there are very obvious similarities. i don’t mind if it’s in your post itself or in the tags, but please just make sure it’s there, bc i rlly do work hard on everything that i put out on my blogs, and so having that acknowledgement of you’ve taken ideas of mine to use in your work is rlly important. i’ve never been shy about the fact that my entire blog was inspired by free (aka @/laladellakang) for this reason.
so yeah, similarities are okay bc it does happen sometimes, but if it’s very obvious that you have been taking inspo from someone else’s signature style, then don’t forget to mention the person to avoid misunderstandings. but anyway. trust me when i say, authors can tell when their work is being used as a template for someone else’s. they recognise these things bc they spend a lot of time figuring them out when they’re making their content and become so familiar with it that it becomes almost like muscle memory.
and that being said, remember that taking inspiration is not the same as plagiarism or copying. i have found a blog (I won’t be mentioning names) that did list me as an inspiration, and then found that they basically copied and pasted the text formatting of my old navi (which is part for he reason i changed my theme) as well as my masterlist. and i didn’t want to be dramatic bc it wasn’t like anyone stole my works or smth like that… but just know that even something as seemingly simple as a theme takes a lot of effort to make.
but yeah sorry to rant here to you guys, but it was something i wanted to put out here bc it happens a lot. don’t take this too seriously and try to find out names and stuff, bc the person I mentioned for the theme has alredy been blocked, so there's no need to cause any ruckus about it. just keep it in mind for if you find yourself in the situation where it’s relevant!! love you all and hope you’re doing well 💖💖

Price // would double take, definitely makes an old man comment in comparing the look to something extraterrestrial, but he's so game for it. Genuinely looks forward to seeing what new looks you put together, because he can't for the life of him predict what you'll do next. Keeps you in front of him for a good five minutes going "How'd you make it do the...like this?" gesturing wildly to your face and his own.
Gaz // Really enjoys watching you do your makeup, and would be so willing to let you do his. Strong hc that he's more openly queer in his personal life, and would really take comfort sharing that with you. Lipstick is his favorite part, and when he tells you that you ask if he'd like to try putting it on for you. He'd take his time gently painting along the border of your lips, filling it in. Begs for a kiss afterwards, and you indulge painting it right back on him.
Soap // wouldn't be able to take his eyes off of you, his attention all over your hard work. He's also an artist and has a really strong appreciation for any medium. You can always trust him to swipe the gentlest finger under your eye to fix where a bit of mascara smudged, enamored with every detail. Would reach out to pet at your face and stop himself short. "I can't bear to ruin it," but you can forfeit the beat for him, you really don't mind.
Ghost // takes a good look at you, nods his head and says you look fucking dangerous. Based on his (lame ass) tats he's impressed by anything, and so the more intricate or editorial your looks go, the more he into it he gets. Sweetly bonds with you about it by showing you what he uses on his eyes, and hands over this little bullet of face paint that looked like it was made during one of the world wars.. It feels like a vulnerable thing to share so you hold back your screaming, but that little swatch test you did with it doesn't rub off until Simon puts gasoline on it.
When they're away you send pictures of your makeup to the group chat and they all go out of their way to hype it up. Sometimes it's a big text message through only one persons phone, or a bunch of sporadic ones spanning over a week.

In a few hours I'm going to stain the new wood floor we just put in the living room & then we'll have achieved my summer goal of gutting & rebuilding that room. We did it in ~3 weeks, which seems pretty quick to me & is definitely faster than it would've been done by the calvacade of different tradesmen needed to complete the diverse tasks involved. Doing it ourselves also saved me the inevitable stress & strife of watching those tradesmen do a bad job & leave a huge mess in the process, and then hectoring them to do better on both counts.
