Elegimos este tema porque creemos que las industrias son el factor más importante para desarrollar una producción responsable y además son factor importante en decisiones y efectos del Estado. Como sabemos la industria es  la actividad económica fundamental que se encarga de transformar las materias primas en otros productos elaborados y semi-elaborados. Es por ello que si se hace un correcto uso de recursos,más una demanda equilibrada (consumo responsable) se podría desarrollar un sistema más sostenible.Hace muchos años, la transición hacia una economía verde, históricamente solo se hacía por mostrar conciencia social. Es decir, eran motivados por la necesidad de cumplir con la normativa, impulsada por un número creciente de accidentes en su economía. Actualmente, las empresas se están tomando en cuenta cada vez más de los beneficios que pueden ganar al aumentar la eficiencia de los recursos que usan. Una producción más limpia y segura para la humanidad junto a la transparencia y responsabilidad corporativa en general pueden hacer grandes cambios para ellos y el futuro en sí.
Para mejorar las tendencias hacia negocios más sostenibles, es necesario que las organizaciones públicas(entes reguladores) sean involucradas para actuar sobre las oportunidades que ofrecen las industrias que usan recursos eficientes. Las organizaciones públicas necesitan diseñar  políticas reguladoras que no afecten el crecimiento económico de las industrias. Por ejemplo, políticas amigables y más estratégicas para abrir mayor espacio en el mercado a industrias más ecológicas que fomenten la conservación del ambiente. Estas soluciones deben hacer que las industrias cumplan legalmente,pero también satisfacer los estándares de la industria para no exponerse a riesgos y accidentes y  que eviten mayores costos de insumos de sistemas de producción excesivos. No diseñando políticas que prometen detener el daño ambiental; pero terminan afectando a la economía de la empresa y también a la del país. Claro ejemplo en Perú cuando el gobierno cedió a los reclamos de los inversionistas, en 2014 , al reducir los plazos para la aprobación de los estudios de impacto ambiental (EIA) y así destrabar las inversiones a industrias peruanas.Sin embargo; el problema es que se han reducido los plazos, pero no se han solucionado los problemas que causaban la demora, como la falta de personal o la insuficiente capacitación en los ministerios involucrados. Siendo esta la situación, es de esperar que la reducción de plazos solo lleve a la aprobación de EIA deficientes, que aumentan el riesgo de conflictos y de daños ambientales irreversibles.
En el  cambio es necesario involucrar a todos los agentes implicados, desde la producción de un producto hasta el consumidor final, por ello también debemos promover el consumo responsable  a lo largo de toda la cadena  de suministros. Debemos ingresar conciencia social desde industrias y consumidores hasta encargados de la formulación de políticas, investigadores, científicos, o minoristas. Es necesario instar a las industrias, los negocios y los consumidores a reciclar y reducir los desechos, así como a apoyar a los países en desarrollo. Esto requiere de estrategias e innovadoras soluciones dispuestas a mejorar y  dejar atrás a los patrones de consumo y producción de la explotación de los ecosistemas, buscando preservar  su bienestar y mejorando su calidad.
