Plush Dolls and Scaled Shopkeeps
Date: October 17th 2131
So... Needless to say I was shaken after the Dorothy fight. I... I'm still shaken now, even after all is said and done. It was... It was an experience? ... Even after telling Kris about some of what happened, I still can't shake the feeling.
After the fight, we headed back to the elevator we came from when CK finally spoke up. "SO UM… WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?"
"Hmm? What do you mean, CK?" Remie responded.
"THAT FIGHT. WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT? THAT DOLL WAS LIKE, SUPER STRONG AND IT FELT LIKE SHE WAS GONNA KILL US! I... AND THE "TRUTH" SHE WAS GOING ON ABOUT, I... IT REMINDED ME OF JE-" Before CK could continue, Remie cut him off. She looked nervous talking about this.
"I really wouldn't dwell on it CK. She was just, a crazy and insane Darkner. Probably why she was locked up. You know?"
"... DO YOU WONDER IF ITS A BAD THING WE LET HER OUT THEN?" Part of me was wondering the same thing... Yet another part knew she'd only get worse if she stayed in that prison.
"Well, I, um, ultimately she's our ally now so, um, everything's fine! Right Chicago?" Remie turned to me, however I... wasn't fully there. I was staring into space. My mind buzzing with questions upon questions. I wanted to scream.
"CHICAGO? YOU GOOD?" I heard CK ask, reaching out a claw towards me before I turned around to them. My face probably looked horrified. When I opened my mouth to speak... I wasn't able to. Not without... The choice of the askers and that Soul.
I'm not sure what would have happened if they chose to say I was fine. I wasn't. I could see it. The askers could see it. Even CK and Remie could see it. As soon as they chose no, I felt the word burst out of my mouth. I didn't speak it, I screamed it. I wasn't okay. None of this was okay. This was so messed up! It still is messed up! Why is this happening!? Why me!?! What the hell did I do, I- I- ... Hang on I need a minute...
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Date: October 18th, 2131
Rest of yesterday was okay. We finished settling the Darkners from the attic world in. Dorothy still hadn't woken up by the time we left, so we left her with Remie. Remie said she could get started on making some new rooms in the Castle for Dorothy and the other secret bosses as soon as possible, so I'm feeling a little better on that front.
Back to... The story. After my outburst, Remie suggested we leave the basement of the Choral Chapel. "The less time spent here, the better." She said. We headed back up to the Soprano floor, the askers deciding to visit the Magician's shop again before heading to the Knave to face the Priestess. We... they? asked him about the Basement.
"What? Basement!? This Chapel doesn't have a basement unless you count the dungeon. What are you kids talking about?"
They asked about the Doll.
"D-doll!? I-i don't know anything about a doll! E-even if I did, we don't talk about d-dolls or anything of the sort around here!"
He seemed nervous. ... Or scared. They asked about Dorothy.
"N-no!! Don't you dare utter her name! I-" The Magician looked mortified before trying to shake it off "Look. If you want answers then go ask the snake in the Dusty Plains. She can give you the knowledge you seek but I know nothing, I tell you, nothing!" I severely doubted that, but the askers decided to leave and head back to the Dusty Plains. Hopefully Jeanie would give us more answers than the Magician.
After heading through one of the warp doors, it didn't take long to find way back to Jeanie's tent. The askers immediately asked about Dorothy and the snake teller pulled out a set of three cards.
"Judgment, Reversed six of wands, and The Chariot.," The snake started, laying the cards out on the table as she begun to spin the tale, "I may not have known that doll for long, but I knew her cards, her fate, the path the stars laid out for her. Or perhaps the path she forged herself…"
"Once she was nothing more than a blank doll. No face, no name, no path. She was a fool just as you are," Jeanie continued. "Yet one day, she came across a strange someone and it seemed her stars had finally aligned. She had been gifted an identity and purpose from some higher power, she said. To this day, I still don't quite understand what she meant by that. Rambling on about the Truth, or our purpose, or creating our own stars… Yet I didn't NOT understand at the same time…" ... Gyeh heh. Sounds like what Seam told us when talking about Jevil now that I'm able to think a bit more clearly about it. Gyeh heh heh...
"At some point she was let into the Upper Choir, but even they eventually grew annoyed with her ramblings. And so they cast her out. Exiled her back to these dust ridden plains." ... Sorta reminds me of Spamton's situation. Rose to stardom from nothing before falling from grace... "She grew enraged, filled with an anger and hatred for all that betrayed her. She had to be locked away before she could hurt anyone else. It shames me that I had to be the one to call the guard…" ... Did anyone think to help her? Even if she was a danger to herself and others, you didn't have to abandon her completely. Someone could have helped her. Someone SHOULD have helped her.
"Ever since, I've mulled over the cards and stars, seeking answers to what she said. Yet the skies shone dark and the cards even darker. The only thing I've come back with are more questions than when I started. It makes one wonder… How much of the universe and fate can be understood and predicated…
And how much can only be navigated by the blind?"
... I think this whole situation has left me with more questions than answers too. This ENTIRE situation. It's just questions upon questions, and I don't know if I'll ever even GET answers. Who the hell is this "mysterious someone"? What do they want with all these Darkners? Why show them this "truth"? It's clearly breaking them to the point of madness. I don't know if this person is truly trying to help them, or if they're purposely harming them. ... What are their plans? With the secret bosses. With the Dark Worlds themselves. ... With me?
... Maybe I don't want to know the answers to these questions.
When the askers then told Jeanie we defeated Dorothy, she pulled out another set of three cards and spread them out. "The six of wands, the Tower, and the Devil. So, it is true? You really defeated her? Then you three truly must be the heroes of legend after all However be warned, DOROTHY is merely the first step in your fool's journey. There is still a long way to go, and many more obstacles to face." That's exactly what I WASN'T hoping for... "And one day soon… even the most darkest evil of all. Ha ha ha…" Jeanie laughed before turning back to us. "Well, I can only wish you luck. Perhaps once you reach that point… You can come back here and I shall read your scattered destiny once more."
After that (and the askers trying to hand Jeanie the Patch Crown, which the snake refused to take), we left. The askers equipped the crown to CK, and we headed back towards the Chapel to face off against the Priestess.
. . .
I think I'm gonna need a big break before the next Dark World adventure. I don't think I'd survive if I had to do this everyday for a week like Kris did. Especially with that... Soul, controlling my every move.
... I should move that jar some place I can't see it. (It feels like that thing is... staring at me. Is that even possible?)

Darkness up in the Attic
Date: October 16th, 2131
Vile, violated, disgusted. I don't even know where to start with describing what happened. The only thing I can focus on is how... invaded I feel.
Do any of you know what it feels like to hold a human soul? No? I really REALLY wish I didn't know the feeling. Even staring at the so- at that THING in the jar I shoved it in, it makes me uncomfortable.
Okay okay, back tracking. Focus. Gotta give context. Okay so Kris, CK, and Jevil came over today. Puncle Sans was gonna come too, but he was apparently busy napping. They came over so Papa and Kris could better sort out how to help Spam and Jev. So while they talked about that and other adult stuff, CK, Jevil, Spamton and I got out some legos to play with.
The day seemed to be going well, even with Jevil pranking and antagonizing Spamton. However I found something... interesting when I took Spamton to the other room to cool down and hopefully prevent him from strangling Jevil. The door to the attic. It was like... pulsing darkness. Just like the door to the school storage closet was when CK and I first stumbled into Castle Town. Someone had opened a Dark World in the attic.
Obviously I remembered what Kris and Seam had said with the Roaring and how multiple Dark Worlds were bad, but I also knew that my sister, Broadway was up there, and I hadn't seen glam come down yet this morning. Glee must've still been up there. I thought about telling Kris but... what if Broadway got stuck up there in the Dark World when Kris closed it. What would happen? ... So I tried calling CK over instead.
After convincing CK we should at least scope this out before grabbing the adults (gyeh, funny how usually HE'S the one convincing ME to do reckless and stupid stuff like this), CK mentioned how we probably need someone to distract Papa and Kris so they don't get too suspicious. Which is where I suggested Spamton and Jevil distract them. CK was the one who suggested they distract the adults by misusing Papa's kind heart and desire to help people, for the record. While Spamton seemed apprehensive to the idea, Jevil ended up dragging it off before it had much chance to object. I presume the plan worked, even if I seemed like Jevil mostly just ended up annoying Kris and Papa focused on talking to Spamton (which I guess is a good thing?) by the time we got back, and no one ended up following us (though know I sorta wish Kris did...)
We landed in a rocky, cliffy place filled with cobwebs and dust, and at first I was separated from CK. Wasn't too long until I found him though, as i could hear him sneezing from like, a mile away. As we were thinking how a Dark Fountain could have possibly been opened up here and just what exactly Broadway was doing in the attic, we were suddenly attacked from above. Someone was flinging a bunch of rain drop and frog shaped bullets our way, meaning we had to run as fast as our legs could carry us. That was until we came to a dead end...
It was okay though! The attacker turned out to be an old frog plush I used to take everywhere and have had since I was like, a baby. Remienotta, aka Remie. (I always wonder where I'd misplaced her, guess she was up here all along.) Turns out Remie thought we were working with some dude called The Magician (who we encountered not long after) and that's why they attacked us. After that was cleared up, Remie offered to help us find Broadway before jumping off the nearby cliff, using her umbrella to float down Mary Poppins style, and lead us to her fort.
At Remie's Fort, we ended up running into Broadway, who looks even more like a teen idol pop star in the Dark World and was VERY excited once glee realized that THIS was a Dark World like the ones I'd been talking about all week. Also at the Fort is where we encountered The Magnificent Magico, aka The Magician for the first time. A tall blue Darkner with ana 8-ball for a head, a somewhat unsettling grin, floating hands, and wearing a stage magician's get up. He crashed through Remie's barricade before declaring he was sent by the High Priestess to stop us from closing the Dark Fountain. Aaaaaas well as informed us that the only way to leave was by closing the Fountain. (Gyeh. Great. Just our luck right? It gets worse later.) After that Magician had some Halographic Ruddins attack us before capturing and making off with Broadway.
And thus our new party consisting of myself, CK, and Remie continued forward through this new Dark World and entered the Dusty Plains...
To be continued in next entry, I need to at least TRY to sleep. (Considering how today went however, I'm not sure how successful I'll be in that.)

Ask Box Open?
Date: October 19th, 2131
Gyeh! Oh gee, I didn't even realize it took me like, 2 - 3ish days to explain what happened on the 16th? (And I still didn't say anything about the battle against the High Priestess and the Magician... Might do that some other time?) Needless to say, that day was hectic. The days since have been... an emotional rollercoaster as I've been... dealing with the aftermath? I... gyeeeh...
Ahem! Anyways, it seems I have... a few followers here. (Didn't expect really any since ya know, personal diary blog) But uuh, I guess I've had a few, very creepy, cryptic, asks, but asks none the less so um... Any asks? About me, my life, Spamton? I... I think I really need a distraction right now, from like, ... everything that's happened. And what better distraction than answering asks from strangers on the internet?
(Please don't make me regret this, please, please, please, plea-)

Ragdoll's Revenge
Date: October 17th, 2131
Okay. We're at Castle Town now. Look's like everyone's getting settled in alright. CK did have Dorothy, er, well, the Patch Crown. I think she's still asleep. Like the other secret bosses from Kris's journey. ... I should sort out some better accommodations than the inventory. Spamton didn't seem to like it, so I doubt the others do either, even if they're dormant at the moment. Maybe I can get Remie to set something up? She seems eager to help and stuff. First though we should wait for Kris to show up. I think CK said they were still helping Auntie Tori with something.
While we wait though, I should tell you about the battle.
The inside of the cell was padded, with some fabric patches sewn on the walls and floor. At the end of the room, kneeled a ragdoll Darkner. Chained up by her wrists as needles were stuck into her back. She seemed to be breathing heavily as we approached.
"Hah haha!//Finally, some//NO ONE WILL//to see the world as// Moment of truth.//And as//FREEDOM.//one step at a time.//After I Enslave//tell you the truth//I can show up//Why Everyone Else Is So//The truth...//!!!" I wonder if there's something with the... whoever Darkners like Spamton, Jevil, and Dorothy meet that causes these weird speech patterns. Talking in round about riddles and rhymes, broken ads, stitched together dialogue. Is it some form of punishment? Just a side effect of meeting him? ... A method of control?
"So um, what is this 'truth', ribatti, ribatti?" Remie asked. I was wondering that too. I've been wondering it since I met Jevil and Spamton. What do they mean when they talk of Light? Of Freedom? Of games or deals or communion? Spamton keeps randomly screaming about burning, I don't know if it was acid or seeing too far. What does it mean? What does it mean!?
"Ha ha ha!!!//The truth...//OH, IT'S JUST A SIMPLE//truth or dare" Dorothy managed to break free of her chains as she rained a row of needles just past our faces. "The truth is,//in this world..." She stood up, flexing her back to send the pins and needles stuck into her to go flying before she pulled out one needled that transformed into a giant mallet. "It's KILL or BE killed."
"MWEH HEH! SO THAT'S HOW IT'S GONNA BE?" CK exclaimed excitedly as we all drew our weapons as well, "THEN BRING IT!!!"
"you wanna fight//the truth?//YOU KIDS ARE//couldn't stand.//Addicting Game of Chance//!!!"
And thus the battle began.
Flying needles, stitching thread, pounding hammers. The fight was absolutely terrifying, yet there was still a part of me that found it... fun? No, maybe not fun. Maybe that was just the adrenaline talking. I knew that no matter what, I had to help. I couldn't just leave her like this. Luckily the Askers seemed to agree. Continuing to try and refusing to give up until we spared Dorothy. Still doesn't mean it didn't hurt. We died. I died. Like four times. I literally felt my soul (the soul? Was it my actual one or that... thing?) shatter like, at least four times! I experienced death! It was nothing but an empty void with... someone calling out faintly. To me? To the Askers? I don't know. To me it was a whisper. Most of what I heard was Papa. Encouraging me to get up and keep going. And so we did. We got up and tried again... and then died again!
At least now I know what the glowing stars were for.
Okay, okay. Calm down. Point is you're still alive now and hopefully you won't have to go through anything like that again anytime soon. Where was I?
Yeah, the battle. Sparing Dorothy was... difficult. Not only did we die alot, but it took a long while. I feel like... At least 4 stages? And I think that's just because we managed to spare her before a 5th. There were two ACTs, but we only used Patch like, once. Probably as it seemed to make her attacks hit harder. I remember for Calm, Remie sung a song, and CK tried his best to speak softer, but I just kept trying to whisper and communicate to Dorothy in whatever ways I could.
"I'm sorry." "You must be in so much pain." "I'm trying to help." "I want to help." "What happened to you?" "Who did this?" "It'll be okay." "I'm going to get you out of this." "Please let me get you out of this." "I'd be angry too."
With every Calm, Dorothy seemed to get a little more tired. Bit by bit, turn by turn. She was still angry though. Very, VERY, angry.
"The gash weaves//past this//!!" "Cotton heart and button eye//Now//It's time to//DIE! DIE! DIE!" "Stab The Earth//with//saws and needles"
After many attempts and four long phases, we finally managed to wear her down. We got her tired enough for Remie to cast Pacify.
"HUFF//Huff… puff…!//this isn't another trick, is it//?" As Dorothy lowered her hammer and stopped attacking, she was breathing heavily. Clearly the battle had taken a lot out of all of us. "You kids//you won’t fight.)//I will KILL you.////Yet…//You//calmly whispered something to DOROTHY." (Was she able to hear the flavor text? ... Where did the flavor text even come from???)
"…//Why was I//FIGHT until you almost defeat them…)//I FEEL SO//ANGRY and STRESSED OUT!!!" At that point, she seemed to almost break down. The weight of her exhaustion getting to her. "I'm so tired of this,//Yet… strangely…//Only the first//through the start.)" Dorothy looked up to us as she seemed to give us some sort of warning. "The Knight//RETURNS, AND//Supreme Empire//will fall down//Lightners//are you ready?//For what?//UNTIL NEXT TIME, DARLINGS…!!!"
"Urah ha ha ha…//Maybe you can//maybe you can't use that. H… How should//I know what you really want to say. Lightner's//you continue to be yourself.//THE ONE IN CONTROL?" After that, Dorothy kneeled down took off the crown on her head, presenting it to us. "Let me give you my//Grant me strength!" After that she turned into the crown? I think? I'm still confused...
*(You got ShadowCrystal.)
*You got PatchCrown
... We headed back upstairs after that before back tracking to the Dusty Plains. It seems we had someone to talk to.

Puppets and Dolls
Date: October 17th, 2131
The most jarring thing about that whole adventure had to be Dorothy.
I... I can't pin what exactly it was but... she felt like Spamton or Jevil. Her speech fragmented and hard to understand. The talk of revenge, or of the "Truth". The odd cadences in her voice, the glint in her button eyes. ... The shadowy crystal she gave me. She also felt like how I felt in the moment. Trapped. Alone. Angry. So so SO angry... I- I can't imagine what could have happened to her. And based on what I can gather about what happened to Jevil and Spamton, I not sure I want to know.
I... Let me start from the beginning though. As I (and by that I mean a mysterious soul entity) was walking through the Feathered Forest with Broadway after the party got split up after the 2nd mini boss, we came across a something. In the room after the 3rd mini boss, a collection of Ssnekmers tied together into a Ssneking, there was a hidden path down through some of the bushes and trees. It led down a twisting hall before leading to a locked gate and a puzzle. The puzzle read something like...
"In land far away, lies a Castle o Cards. The answer you seek, lies suit order esrever" Beside the sign, there's a card suit puzzle like might've been found in the old classroom Dark World."
"Rather impossible if you've never seen it, which most in this land haven't! Oh ho ho!!"
(Looking back on it now, Magico likely wrote that, huh?) Anyways, I didn't know how to solve the puzzle since well, I'd never been to Card Castle, and I'll never be able to since Kris closed that Dark World years ago. It was the first one they journeyed to that they told me about. Even still, the Askers controlling the Soul did know. And they were able to get the door open.
On the other side of the gate was a chest, and inside the chest was a key. A rusty key with a button head. The RustedKey. After putting it in our KEY ITEMS, we left the room and I forgot about it until later. All the way until we reached the Chapel.
After more Magico encounters, receiving an existential crisis inducing egg (which I still have???) from a man I swear I've seen in my dreams before, and finally catching up with CK and Remie again, we eventually reached the Choral Chapel, where we'd have to fight the High Priestess, the ruler of this Dark World who both wanted to stop us from closing the fountain, but also wished to harness the potential of one of us for something. Before we fought her though, the Askers seemed to have other plans.
Using the elevator on the top floor, the one by Magico’s Shop, we were able to drop down into some sort of basement. A floor even deeper down than the dungeon. It was quiet. Echoing only with our footsteps and lit only with a few torches. How did the Askers even know to come here?
At the end of a long corrider, there was a large, rusty cell door. Lot less elegant than the ones we saw in the dungeon previously. I could just barely see someone inside as the faint light shone through the gaps in the bars. A raggedy looking doll Darkner, chained up with her head down. She was muttering to herself.
"Aha ha ha ha...//Thoust fools,//YOU'RE ALL BEING//truly are the Fool!" She spoke in a fragmented voice, as though it was stitched together from other bits of dialog she'd heard.
"??? ARE THEY TALKING TO US?" CK asked as he tried to peer in front of me. I couldn't say anything or move at all. Only stare. Stare at this poor Darkner, trapped and isolated as her head shot up and she stared back.
"!!//Who's goes there?//REVEAL YOUR//secret identities!?"
"Oh um, well I'm Remie, this is Chicago and CK-" Remie introduced us before CK cut them off.
"THERE A REASON YOU'RE IN THERE?"
"The Choir//The rest of the choir//made up of//You IDIOTS.//I was simply//You're telling the truth?//and they ran//me//out of//the KINGDOM OF-//FOOLS!//blinded by darkness//HOW CAN YOU REFUSE,//Can you see the//The light only you can see." The truth. Darkness. Light. Freedom. Gyeh heh. Where have before? This is when I knew something was up. I could feel my body start to tense as CK continued talking.
"WHY WOULD THEY LOCK YOU UP FOR TELLING THE TRUTH?"
"FOOLS!//All of you are filled with//the side... OF IGNORANCE!!!//Then they will//finally pay off//What's the price.//I WILL USE THAT SPECIAL ATTACK//fix all of them//Manipulating people to make them//FREEDOM."
"SO UH... DO YOU NEED US TO LET YOU OUT?"
This is when Remie whispered something that was a pretty good point. "(Is it a good idea for us to let her out, ribatti, ribatti? She seems a bit unstable...)"
She was unstable, but so were/are Jevil and Spamton. Should they have remained trapped too? N-no! Its like Papa said. Criminalizing the mentally unwell doesn't help them and does nothing but satiate the majority and make it acceptable to demonize the unfortunate! E-even if Dorothy deserved to be in here, she's clearly been completely isolated, which doesn't help her a bit besides help her go more insane! It's no wonder she's mad!
"ARE YOU AFRAID//to see the world as//Moment of truth." Dorothy asked "Are you gonna be//closed the blinds...//You're just like//Studying with THEM??//if you can just free me//I'll show you what REAL//When the LIGHT is//I Will Free You//if you can help me..."
After that we were given a choice.
See the light ❤️ Do not see
At first the Askers chose not to see, but that only made Dorothy upset before we were presented the option again.
"❤️See the light"
"THE KEY//Delicious Platters Has The Key//Hidden in the depths//Alt+Tab away from//lost sight of what was important.//the court magician//a snake-charming song//YOU TRAITOR...!//someone who knows.//Don't they know"
After that we pulled out the Rusted Key from the Key Items and used it to unlock the door before stepping inside.

Chicago the Puppet
He/Him
Voice Headcanon: John Mullaney
Full name: Chicago Ghost Garamond Blook
B-Day: September 7th, 2022
Even though Chicago may seem he's named after the city in Illinois, Chicago's actually named after the font, Chicago FLF. ... which is admittedly named after the city.
As you may have guessed, Chicago speaks in Chicago FLF.
Rather quiet and soft spoken compared to the rest of his family. This is likely due too his autism and/or anxiety.
Despite his shy personality, he's veeeeery chatty and enthusiastic if you get him started on his interests.
His soul trait is Determination
Though his primary magic is string magic, he doesn't really like using it that often.
Even though Chicago is a puppet, ventriloquist dummies, marionettes and other wood/porcelain/plastic puppets make him uncomfortable
He's perfectly fine with felt, fabric, or sock puppets like hand puppets or muppets.
He likes making little gadgets and gizmos
His ball joints and segmented limbs.
His body also seems to be make of some sort of bone or plastic material.
His Dark World weapon class is dual blades, forming a pair of scissors. His starting weapon are yellow and pink bi-colored dual blades.
His Dark World appearance looks similar to a knight or Artificer. It's colors are similar to Spamton Neo.
He's puppet pals with Spamton! Even if the salesman makes him uncomfortable
Asides from Spamton, he's BFFs with his cousin, CK.
He also has another group of friends who call themselves The Hotspots. They're influencers.
He often feels like there's a lot of pressure on him to succeed as the kid of a celebrity. It makes him nervous.
He likes to rollerskate
His favorite childhood show is The Muppets, and he used to have a frog hand puppet he adored named Remie (short for Remienotta)

How do you imagine Bailette and Magico’s dynamic/thoughts on eachother? What do they like to do?
Since I convinced them and their dynamic just last night, they've been loud and outgoing x quiet and reserved. Aka one of my favorite character dynamics.
Magico would be encountered by Chicago and his party first, and be very eccentric, loud, and boisterous, which Bailette isn't met until the end and final battle. Magico mentions her a lot however, and idolizes her like most of the rest of the Attic Dark World inhabitants. Bailette's influence is felt in the background throughout much of the "chapter".
Together, I imagine them as a couple. Magico might technically be a servant/minion for Bailette, however Magico sees her as his mistress. His lady, his princess, his high priestess he'd give the world for. I think before Bailette was put into power by whoever's opening more Dark Worlds now, be that the old Knight or a new one, Magico and Bailette were close friends. You may think a music box and a magic set have little in common, but I beg to differ. I imagine they're both items that likely belonged to Broadway and Chicago at some point, before getting stuffed into the attic.
Perhaps they could mirror the sibling's relationship a bit as Chicago would be going through this Dark World with Broadway. Whether glee's in more of a Noelle/Berdy position or more of a Susie position is undecided. Likely Noelle since glare class would overlap with Remienotta, and CK is already one of Chicago's main party members
