RadioHusk Week 2023 Day 4: Possessive/First Kiss

After about one month of trying to draw these two as accurate as possible,I'm finally presenting my contribution to the RadioHusk Week.

This is not how I envision an actual first kiss between them (I imagine it would be more emotional),but it marks a few firsts for me:

•First year as a RadioHusk shipper

•First time I participate in the RadioHusk Week (or any event)

•First time drawing a proper Hazbin Hotel fanart

(Andrealphus doesn't count since he is part of Helluva Boss)

Now let's move on to my experience with this ship and the drawing itself:

One day I decided to check the Hazbin Hotel pilot because I was curious why the franchise is so popular and it didn't really pique my interest. However,I liked the interactions between Husk and Alastor even though I didn't ship them at the time.

I immediately loved Husk for his design and the fact he was the most chill one,but Alastor took a little longer to become my second favorite HH character and one of my absolute favorite characters overall.

Then the more fanarts and fanfictions I've seen of them,the more I realized how adorable they are together and this is how it ended up being one of my OTPs.

"Why Alastor's antlers are bigger here than how they usually are?"

The answer is simple:I've heard about a theory of Charlie growing her horns when she is in love or experiencing any intense emotion and I was like "why can't it also be the case for other characters who can change the size of their horns/antlers?". And since it's been long confirmed that Alastor possesses this ability himself,it seemed like a fitting situation.

I had a bit of a hard time figuring out which prompt I wanted to do since I'm not ready to take on the full week yet despite having ideas for all the prompts,but maybe I will eventually try to complete the others and also the RadioHusk Week prompts from the previous years (and future ones).

I spent like a shit long time on this sweet sweet art of my wonderful garbage men couple but art-block and depression burn out decided to make me stop in my tracks to remind me that I dont know what im doing so have a work in progress Chiwdren

Not gonna lie, a Cuddly Alastor is best Al (bastard cant leave my poor cat man alone xD) and im convinced that Al is a Cat person and Husk is the only one who gets to shit on Alastor for being a greedy bastard xD

Im also down for a possessive husk getting ready to go “hulk smash” on anyone who pissed him off, with a smug Alastor

“My cat boyfriend is gonna kick your butt you pathetic shmuck!” smile is my favorite one so far xD

Guys, Have ‘yall seen Alastor’s nails?! dude is not down for blow jobs but gives great head sc-waches

Husk should sleep forever but its that scenario when Al doesnt wanna get up cause Husk is asweep in his lap and how heartbreaking would it be for husk to leave if alastor moves? xD

Im not finished with it but im pleased with how this turned out so fuck u depression I win!!!

FunFact: Whenever I draw Al being smooched i never really draw his eyes, and he’s usually SHOOK and internally screeching like an ELK cause who wants to kiss that nasty-ass mouth?!

Ya’ll want my honest opinion? Headcanon opinion is

The only time Al would EVER smooch Husk (God forbid, anyone else) would be intended as a way of teasing or joke about dying.

Im just imagining Al doing this every time the annual Exterminations start before he joins into the blood shed xD And this pic is actually from a comic im working on.

💍 Rings 💍

--Personal RadioHusk Headcanon--

I always had this little prompt/idea that they knew each other when they were alive, and were secretly in a relationship. When Husk was called into war, they both promised to meet again and live their lives together. Although, during Husk's serving was when Alastor was murdered and of course the news affected Husk personally and scarred him. He was release shortly after and that's when his gambling and alcohol addiction became an actual problem, adding PTSD, depression, and grieving into the mix wasn't helping either.

I've seen people headcanon that Husk may have died from either a bar fight, alcohol poisoning, or other... For me, I believed he, to put this lightly, ended his life due to the grieving and the PTSD became overbearing for him to handle.

Of course, I do think that the demons in Hell remember their life on earth. In Husk's case though, he chooses to forget it and become cold and distant.

Alastor POV, while he doesn't like the way he died for a few reasons other than him being murdered by dogs, but because he'd may never get to see Husk. (Unbeknownst to him, that the two will meet up in Hell again) Alastor believes it's best to forget the past, as there's nothing else he can do now.

Fast forward the two becoming partners/associates, now this is where the two demons begin to slowly piece together a picture. Alastor would compare Husk's behavior to that of his past lover (being his sarcastic and careless attitude). While Husk would get flashbacks of his past life whenever Alastor was present and something would click (such as Alastor jokes whenever he would try to make Husk smile, and of course his own smile reminded the cat demon of his deceased lover).

Bunch of slow burn/romance later, they both soon came to the conclusion that they knew each other when they were alive and eventually were in a relationship.

Now as for the rings in the picture...

Alastor would wear his ring like any usual person, although I do imagine he would phase the ring to be on his mic stand as well.

Husk doesn't trust his claws to keep the ring in place, so he got himself a dog tag and have the ring be attached to it.
