I realized that the tagline for Mortal Kombat 1 might mean that no matter what happens or any changes to one’s fate, what makes them will always be in their blood in every era. Maybe that’s why Liu Kang’s new era seems shifty. Perhaps Johnny Cage was always meant to be a washed up actor then a great father.

okay am I the only one who interpret WKX-ZZS dynamic as the sweetest, (purest?) most innocent of all relationships of all time where their entire dynamic and every action revolves around the questions "what can I do for you, my soulmate? how can I make you happy, make you you?" where they constantly do their best to achieve what they THINK is the best for the another one, how both of them dig deep inside themselves, beyond all the things they've done, all the things they have been, all the things about themselves they consider vile, and find a part of them that was as untouched as their childhood self and think from that part for the other one, support and believe and love the other, simultaneously bringing out the worst in themselves, the worst they had abandoned or chose to abandon, the worst to protect the other, be ruthless, cutting and and absolutely destroy anyone who's trying to hurt their soulmate. never the soulmate though. can't ever hurt them knowingly. How they can never lie to the other. From the very fucking beginning even before any relationship had formed between them. The surety that 'this one will understand, this one is more than just a stranger' from the MOMENT they laid eyes on each other (I can't, for the life of me forget the line "in this sea of strangers and he found a one who understood") And it's crazy, I can't believe this shit and it's the most romantic thing I have seen.

Idk if you've done something like this yet (in fact, I'd be surprised if you haven't) but what pet names do you think the mk1 men would use for their s/o? Not sure why I just now thought of this, but it seems wholesome :)

Reiko isn't a fan of romantic pet names and would, instead, refer to his partner by their name or by something strong and intimidating such as "my blade"

Kenshi can be very romantic with his partner. He would most likely use the pet name in private with you. He would call you "honey"

Syzoth really loves his partner. They are his entire world and he wishes to convey that to you. He would use the Zaterran word for "destiny" or "soul" when referring to you

Havik takes the phrase "pet name" a bit too literally. He is not one to be affectionately romantic with his partner. Love is not part of him. He calls you his "little pet"

Quite conventional in what he calls you but it is not often Rain will use pet names. He prefers to just use your name. He will, at times, call you "little cloud"

Shang Tsung quite likes using pet names with his partner. He enjoys the added flare they bring. He calls you his "treasure"

Quan Chi loves using pet names with his lover. He finds them fun to use when taunting others. He shall call you his "precious elixir"
