ok, so backstory time since I couldn't stop thinking about it. the brainrot has gotten to me lol
the day Pomni and Gummigoo met in the Digital Kingdom
Tumblr media
Ten years prior to the events in the AU, Gummigoo had been traversing the streets as a visiting noble from the Candy Kingdom. I'm not certain of his age but I like to headcanon him as a couple of years younger than Pomni, so he's about 13 here while Pomni is 15. At this point in time, Pomni was somewhat of a poor street urchin. She happened upon a group of thugs ganging up on Gummi trying to rob him of any valuables, and being the scrappy street rat she is, she beat the crap out of them in the most slapstick of ways. Gummigoo was very grateful and felt in debt to her ever since, they formed a very fast friendship from this moment forward (and maaayybe some unrequited feelings)
Now Caine had witnessed the whole kerfuffle and was quite amused by her antics and impressed by her quick wit in a fight, and being Royal Advisor he saw fit to make her the Court Jester immediately. And so she's been living at the castle ever since. Gummi would visit the kingdom every once in awhile, but one day he stopped showing up and they haven't seen each other in years, which brings us to the present day. How did a sweet noble boy become the most notorious criminal in all the neighboring kingdoms? ...not sure yet still getting there lmao
also apologies if this looks awful, I'm not much of a scene illustrator, I'd love to make comics in general some day but I'm a total comic making noob, so this is the best I can do for now 😭

any more headcanons to share? ik you just fed us today but im always starving for some more carnival content🙏
Non-sentient Pomni and Non-sentient Kaufmo got along pretty well
Since Non-sentient Pomni's objective was to mentor and teach the player new tricks, she gave "big sister" energy when she was performing
Non-sentient Pomni was respected and got along with pretty much everyone
Non-sentient Pomni was very talented in artistic abilities... She uh.. lost all that after being sentient
In the story of Carnival, Non-sentient Pomni was a circus performer before being given the position for Jester, (some jesters were actually clowns who work in travelling circuses in mideival times, and just work when theyre called by the king)
You can tell that Gangle and Pomni are part of the royal court cuz they both dawned gold (Gangles golden linings + bells, Pomni's golden hoops + bells/poms )

DIGITAL CIRCUS THEORIES & THOUGHTS PT 2
SPOILERS BE WARNED ! ! ! !
link to part 1 : https://www.tumblr.com/ruizpizzaria/731120968635940864/digital-circus-theories-thoughts-o-part-1
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kinger might've been scared of gangle breaking her face because it reminds him of someone abstracting / getting deformed / reaching their breaking point
if Kinger has been in the digital circus the longest he has encountered the most abstractions hence why he's so paranoid and gets frightened by gangle too (?)
Tumblr media
Kinger wife?? Queener?? did she have a connection to him in some way
She's the only one to have a consistent avatar design I wonder why?
I'm 99% confident all the crossed out character doors are for those who got abstracted
Maybe her death or abstraction was most impactful on Kinger fueling his paranoia
ive also seen people point out how the flooring of the digital cirucus looks like a chess board soo coincidence????????/
Tumblr media
Both Kinger and Queener ( you cant convince me otherwise it wouldnt be ) are both regal characters and there are notable castle walls within the tent
Pomni resembles a jester which could also tie into this royal theme
theres also a dragon queen / gloink queen but that might have been a one off thing
Tumblr media
The exit maze labyrinth thing is an office but why?
I feel like making an exit or escape look like an office is ironic seeing how work and generally office work is seen as very enslaving or repressing
youd think an exit or freedom would be something like blue skies
in general the internet or virtual realities are seen as forms of escapisms from reality ( an escape from work school etc etc ) but here its basically switched and I find that rlly interesting
I already said this in my pt 1 theory post but the office might resemble the company building for C&A
The painting in the back of this shot almost looks like the ones from the hallway jax, pomni and ragatha were walking through making this the only asset caine reuses from the digital circus maybe?
( edit : i said formerly it mightve been bc it the office had a tie to the game but also i mean no duh caine made it ; but then again if thinking this is a direct replica of an office that exists in the narrative reality outside of the digital circus then tied to the game company yes )
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Most likely the computer Pomni used to enter the digital world
could it be she was a worker or beta tester for this company? and maybe everyone else was too
we also see the headset she used here
Tumblr media
in the previous photo/scene it looks as though Pomni recognizes the computer in the distance and at the beginning pomni is aware she is wearing a head set ; this begs the question : how much can be remembered before entering the digital circus? what can be remembered and what is forgotten?
It's made clear general information like their identities are forgotten
Ive noticed that the longer they stay the more they forget about themselves and ease up to their character roles -> Pomni is the least concerned with being a jester while someone like Kinger who's been there the longest refers to himself as royalty and plays into his character
foreshadowing when jax says to kinger "since when are you an expert on the digital world" hinting that they might be devs or beta testers for the game

…Can I have the digital circus gang with an s/o who kicks Jax’s a$$ when he goes too far in his ‘pranks’. So like, they’ll let a few remarks, jabs and ‘lighter’ pranks through if they don’t actually hurt anyone. But things like infesting Ragatha’s room with bugs, tormenting Pomni about her situation/mental state, breaking Gangle’s mask, stealing and hiding Zooble’s parts, demolishing Kinger’s impenetrable fortress or even royally messing up Caine’s adventures or shows for a laugh will get him in all sorts of trouble.
Sorry for the long request, rewatched TADC after Helluva Boss’s newest episode (omg so gooooood) and wanted some revenge for how much of a prick Jax is to everyone.
A well deserved A&% kicking
FINALLY! I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS REQUEST! I HAVE WANTED TO KICK JAX'S TEETH IN SINCE HE TRIPPED RAGATHA AND PUSHED GANGLE IN THE MEET THE CHARACTERS TEASER! Don't take that as I don't want fluffy requests for him. Cause I do. I've just waiting for enough reason to write about this concept for a little while. Jax x Reader who fights back
Jax hated you. Well more then the others at least cause you were the only one who wouldn't just let him get away with any and everything. And he despised you for that. Because of his track record you don't trust him, and can come across as a little protective over the others when it comes to him. You all are literally trapped in a digital circus. You don't need more problems. And Jax is just a walking problem. One time he found a pair of scissors and cut up Gangle and hid her in a box that he buried outside. When you found out about it you comforted Gangle and helped her get Caine so she could be in one piece again. You kicked the absolute s&@# out of him once you were sure Gangle was at least kind of ok. You wish you could do some actual damage but sadly that isn't possible in the circus. So you left him tied up and with tape over his mouth quiet corner that no one visits. He deserves it. And the week and a half he was gone was really calm and enjoyable only reinforcing the fact that he makes living here so much harder then it needs to be. In the time he was gone you broke into his room to make sure he didn't have anything else he could use to hurt others. You took everything that could be a problem as well as all his keys, so he couldn't get into everywhere anymore. But good news is you have made the circus a much safer and calmer place. And Jax's "pranks" have slowed a ton cause he can't just do anything whenever he wants anymore. He actually has to think about it and be careful not to get caught. Bad news is because of you his more sadistic tendencies have spiked since he can't constantly vent them. So the "pranks" he does do are much more messed up. His "pranks" can be awful at the best of times, and with you he actually has a reason and want to cause problems and pain. So watch your back. Cause you've made enemies with the most sadistic person there. (I wrote this in like a minute. I get it's kind of short but I thoroughly enjoyed writing this. Thank you for the request! And I hope you enjoyed!)
(Little heads up I updated my request rules so please check back before you request something. Thank you again!) xoxo, Jester
Edit: I'm so sorry. I didn't see TADC crew's S/O. I thought you wanted just like my ideas. I can re write this if you want.

The Amazing Digital adventure!
Tumblr media
Pomni is the court jester, she usually just has mental breakdowns but the royal npc´s think its hillarious. on adventures shes the bard of the group.
Ragatha works as the royal wizard, aswell as a cleric for when the party is out on adventures. Also the lawfull good backbone of the group.
Jax realy just fucks around and steals gold from the villager npc´s and plays pranks on the guards. He was a bit of a dnd nerd irl so knows the rules of the game and how to exploit them. He is the opposite alligment of ragatha and just pure chaotic neutral.
Tumblr media
Kinger is the ruler of the kingdom of generica. (caine couldnt think of a creative name). Before abstracting, queenie did the the ruling part and kinger the public apperances. However with her gone he is completley overwhelmed with being a king. He rarley goes out on adventures, and when he does he is too busy collecting interesting insects.
Caine is the game master and all powerfull grand wizard of the lands. He creates the adventures the party goes on. However he only appears for combat encounters to narrate them (even tho everyone can just see whats going on) Nat-b is the dice he rolls whenever anyone attacks.
Tumblr media
Gangle is a barbarian who cant get angry anymore since her fighting mask broke. She still knows how to use an axe, but is too scared to actually use it and so is mostly defensive during encounters. Due to her high strength stat she also carrys the parties stuff.
Zooble is a reanimated armor cobbled togheter from a bunch of random pieces of armor. Due to them all having diffrent stats they would be op, problem is they are barley holding themselves togheter and so just fall apart when even hit once.
gonna post more about this au in the future :D

Hi! Mod Nash here, this is my first time posting on tumblr, so please be patient with me if I don't understand all of the mechanics but I thought I thought I should make an intro of myself and the cast of the circus as agere users.
First off, I go by he/They pronouns, and I'm a flip, so I both regress and am a caregiver.
Tumblr media
Pomni is a regressor, her regressed age is around 2-5 years old. She goes by the names of pomni, pom pom, little one, little jester, ect She usually regresses when under a lot of stress, and is usually a very sleepy little. Pomni's actions and words will be blue and anything referring to her will be red
Tumblr media
Jax is a regressor and babysitter, his regressed age is around 4-6. his nicknames are bun bun, jackrabbit, little bunny, and baby. He has no set names for his little atm. As a babysitter he's very protective, and love to make littles laugh, especially by playing pranks on other circus members. as a regressor, he's always either sleepy, or energetic and there's no in-between. He loves playing pranks. and he's very bratty when he doesn't get what he wants. but when he's sleepy he's very sweet and will cuddle with whoever is caring for him at the time. Jax's Actions and words will be red and anything referring to him will be purple
Tumblr media
Caine isn't entirely sure about age regression, but he tries his best to care for the littles of the circus when they need it, making sure they don't get hurt. He'll give them toys and spoil them to keep them happy. And he has a hard time saying no when given the puppy eyes. his nickname for his regressors is superstar. Caine's words/actions will be red, and anything referring to him will be white/black
Tumblr media
Ragatha, whether she wants to admit it or not, is a flip, cg lean. As a caregiver, she loves to play dress-up with her littles, she doesn't like to say no but will if what the little wants to do is unsafe, She can be strict when she needs to be. As a little, she regresses around the ages of 3-5. She's not very bratty but does require a lot of attention, mainly in the form of comfort. Her nicknames for her regressors are dolly, baby doll, and sweetheart. Ragatha's actions and words will be purple, and anything referring to her will be red
Tumblr media
Kinger is a flip, regressor lean. He has no set age when he's little, but he loves to talk about bugs. hes usually very hyper and clumsy when regressed, and most of his toys are bug themed. As a caregiver, he's very forgetful, but loves his littles regardless. He doesn't mind turning a blind eye to an extra sweet or two, even when they're supposed to be sleeping. his nickname for when hes little is usually prince/little prince. His nicknames for his regressors are prince/princess/little royal, your highness. Kinger's actions and words will be orange, and anything referring to him will be purple
Tumblr media
Gangle is a regressor, around the ages of 5-8. she loves to play dress-up and pretend, she takes a lot of comforting to get her to sleep, but she's very sweet and lovey. Gangle's nicknames are sweetie, ribbons, honey. Gangle's words and actions will be red, and anything referring to her will be white/black
Tumblr media
Zooble Is a caregiver, they love to play games with their little, they're pretty strict when it comes to following the rules, but they still let their little get away with a later bedtime every now and then. They love to tease and tickle their little. Their nicknames for their littles are usually animal based, eg tiger, puppy, kitty, honey bee. Zooble's actions and words will be orange, and their name will be pink
(Edit, i completely forgot to add the color tags, and bubble, but ill be making a new post for bubble.)

I’m looking for an artist to collab with for an AU
Hello! If you don’t know me already, my name is Dragon, the author of the TADC fics 5+1 and Royally Screwed (and also a funnybunny shipper). However, I am coming up with a totally new AU, something similar to the carnival and freakshow au as well as inspiration from Bendy and the Ink Machine, Poppy Playtime and Amanda the Adventurer.
I call it ‘The Amazing Digital REDACTED’ au.
In this au, you ‘the player’ play as Jax, an ex-employee of C&A returning to the abandoned building in order to find the rest of your work employees after a mysterious incident years ago. With hidden knowledge that he must enter the game in order to find them, Jax does just that while managing to retain his memories. Along with his accomplice Bubble (a helpful AI who wants to free the rest of the trapped souls) and some help from his friend Winter (yes Winter from 5+1 will be in this but that fic isn’t canon to this au) on the outside, Jax tries to fix his past mistakes and save everyone – especially a particular jester he loved and lost long ago.
Yup that’s right, Jax will be the main character of this au and you will be playing as him. Let me explain, there is a feature on AO3 that allows you to make multiple choices on how you want the story to play out, like a telltale video game if you understand what I’m saying. You will get to pick and choose how Jax goes about his adventure and receive more than one ending (with a canon ending as well). And yes, this au’s main ship is funnybunny as I believe that it deserves more recognition and I find that these two in this au are very interesting to explore (especially with their past).
However, this fic is going to take quite a long time to make and is going to be bigger than anything else that I have written in the past. That is why I want to team up with a fellow TADC/funnybunny artist (since I am not an artist and do better with writing and characters) and create a separate blog for this au to come up with comics and art together. If you’ve seen the blogs for the Carnival and Freakshow au’s, you know that with their comics and art they explore more of the world, drop some lore, do character sheets and explain the pasts of the characters. This is what I’m hoping for if I team up with an artist. This au will mostly be on tumblr however if it does well I might add it to twitter as well since I’m putting this post on twitter as well.
Here are what I have pictured for the characters so far.
Jax: Past name; Jack. Ex employee of C&A, main character and who you the player will be playing as. Before the ‘incident’, Jax used to work at C&A as part of a coding team, to make sure that there were no bugs before any games were released. While C&A wasn’t on his list of jobs to pick, it was the only one that seemed best due to the pay and the fact that they could pay for schooling for those with children. Since Jax has a little sister named Jane, and has no parental figures in his life, he takes the job in order to help pay for the both of them and to make sure that Jane gets a good education. Unlike his canon TADC counterpart, Jax is more quiet, tired and while sarcastic, isn’t all out cruel to everyone unless they are bad people (think Mike from the FNAF movie especially with his relationship with his younger sister). He becomes quite close with his boss’s daughter however, Penny (Pomni) with him starting to develop feelings for the shy girl. However, after the day of the ‘incident’ Jax is left with nothing but guilt since he knew things that contributed to that day. Now he has a chance to make things right and save everyone, and Pomni.
Pomni: Past name; Penny. Ex employee of C&A and daughter of the CEO Abel, Pomni is an extremely introverted and socially awkward person, due to being traumatised by her mother’s death. She and her father don’t have a good relationship, with reasons that will become clearer later. She was quite close to the past version of Ragatha, but other than her father, she doesn’t really have a relationship with anyone. She likes to work alone to focus on the numbers and accounting part of her job (she understands numbers more than people) until she meets Jack. Though Jack is usually a bit standoffish, he is sweet to Penny due to her shy nature and helps keep an eye on her throughout their jobs so that she doesn’t feel too overwhelmed. Overcome by his sudden kindness and protectiveness, Penny starts to develop feelings for Jax. However, after the day of the ‘incident’ she is now trapped in the game, forever a jester trapped in a box…until Jax shows up.
If you’d like to be an artist for this au and collab with me, you can send me a DM or @ me. Do either of these and a sketch of the characters and I will reach out to you and confirm that you can be my partner for this project.
Here are some visuals on how I envision the characters.
Jax:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sans the goggles, think of Jax wearing this over his grey and dirty overalls, he could also be holding a makeshift weapon like a bat or a stick so that he can fight off enemies. This version of Jax is much more serious and he is ready to fight in order to get the job done.
Pomni:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(on the last pic, focus on the makeup rather than the outfit)
Overly baggy and childish, with blue and black instead of blue and red. This design is a reminder of her past trauma and as so, is implemented into her circus features. Due to it being too big for her, it makes it hard for her to run and escape, and the ridiculousness of it all is a huge slap in the face that this is her new life now and is fully erased of her past.  Even the makeup covers up any kind of normalcy on her face.
Well that’s it for now, I hope you guys take this into consideration and I hope you all have a lovely day/afternoon/night.

Here's a writing idea for you, but you don't have to do it
Kinger of Hearts hosts a big ass party celebrating his birthday, gets drunk from the wine and tried to get ✨frisky✨ with Mad Caine(whether he succeeds or not it's up to you)
HEY WHAT'S UP GUYS I'M BACK
Y'know I kinda feel like my works have been getting less and less family friendly over time-
ANYWAY this is set after Queenie's takeover attempt, so Caine and Kinger are together. (I can't be bothered to explain any unknown lore so. Just go with it for my sake)
Oh and wonderland au by @obamerzslop
It had been nearly a month since Queenie's defeat. Everyone was still admittedly shaken, although also more at ease, knowing that they were now truly safe. It was Kinger of Hearts' birthday, meaning there was a large celebration held. Most of the people there were acquaintances and colleagues more than anything, considering the party wasn't even the king's idea, but rather something viewed as a necessity. The only person there that he actually liked was Mad Caine, due to his connection as the jester, along with his advisor, Rabbit Ragatha. Kinger had insisted none of his other friends go, as they wouldn't enjoy it. It didn't feel like it was actually for him, anyway. Pomni, however, had suggested they should still do something separate to celebrate later, which the king was very much looking forward to.
Caine stood near the wall, somewhat unsure around all of the people he failed to recognise. The odd dodo or flower person he'd seen once or twice before at other royal events, but nothing more than that. He had already done his performance at this point, which had been relatively well received, if only because everyone there knew how much Kinger of Hearts valued the jester. They were all far too uptight to truly enjoy Mad Caine's routines, as amusing as they were. He was believed to have a lower class role, making him unworthy of being as close to the king as he was. There was power in the role of jester. Power that they could never achieve.
While better acquainted with the guests, Ragatha was just as uncomfortable. Seeing Caine in the distance, she approached, a genuine smile on her face, which was a rare sight at such events.
"Mad Caine!" She called out as she went to stand beside him. "Your performance was rather good. How are you doing?"
His features relaxed. "Thank you, my friend! I'm not doing too bad myself! How about you?"
Rabbit Ragatha let out a loud sigh. "These events are so very tedious. I know it's already been a month since... everything, but I still feel like I'm in desperate need of a nap." She chuckled quietly. "I wish Kinger of Hearts would realise that he doesn't need to put up this facade anymore, if he ever even needed to in the first place. I think it's still instinct for him to put up this mask for his own safety."
Caine crossed his arms and looked down, concerned. He couldn't bear the thought of Kinger thinking he needs to pretend to be someone he's not. He loved the real Kinger with all his heart, and he wanted to see him happy as well. Assessing his worried posture, Ragatha's eyes softened.
"Maybe you could convince him not to lie so much anymore. While I am his advisor, with something like this, he's a bit more likely to listen to his boyfriend." She gave Caine a friendly nudge as he blushed lightly.
"Haha! Maybe..." He thought about it further. Even if Kinger didn't listen, it was worth a try. He could find a way to convince him regardless. "I'll see what I can do, Raggy!"
Ragatha looked embarrassed by the nickname, as while it was sweet, it wasn't something she necessarily wanted to be called in such a professional environment. Caine looked away and saw Kinger talking with someone he hadn't seen before, and it didn't look like a conversation the royal was particularly enjoying. After quickly informing Ragatha that he would be 'back in a jiffy', he set off towards Kinger, determined to save him from the annoying situation. It was his birthday, after all!
When he reached the king, Mad Caine lightly touched his hand. His liking for physical touch was well known, so it wasn't nearly enough physical affection to raise questions, although it was still the king he was touching.
"Happy birthday, Your Majesty! Are you enjoying yourself?" With a clear look of disdain, the other person left. Kinger of Hearts relaxed significantly and his voice lowered in volume.
"Far more now that you're here." Seeing Ragatha, he glanced around before fully grasping Caine's hand and walking over. "You know, I believe that's the seventh time today you've said 'happy birthday' to me."
"And I'll say it again, my love!" Kinger's eyes widened, worrying greatly about anyone else hearing. For his sake, Caine became quieter, but that didn't mean he liked it. "My dear, Queenie is dead. You don't need to fear her overthrowing you again. You can be yourself now. And if anyone goes against you, then I say that gives you plenty of reason to execute them!"
Kinger smiled, although there was still doubt in his eyes. "You're probably right, but it still feels... wrong. I've been like this for so long, I don't know how to rule as anyone else." Some heads turned to watch the pair with curious looks, but Mad Caine gently rubbed his thumb across Kinger's hand to keep him from seeing.
"I understand, but that doesn't mean I'll start agreeing with you on that any time soon." The two finally reached Ragatha as Kinger gave a chuckle that shook his shoulders. His advisor was somewhat absorbed in her own thoughts, surprised by how relaxed she was. By how relaxed they all were compared to past times like this. As horrible as the whole situation with Queenie had been, it had finally gotten rid of the ever-looming threat that she had once been.
"Your Highness," Ragatha greeted him with a noticeable hint of sarcasm, "is everything to your liking?"
Kinger sighed heavily. "All I'll say is that I'm going to need plenty of wine to get through this." Ragatha nodded and bowed, a glimmer in her eyes like she was about to tell a joke at any moment.
"I'll fetch you a glass."
Hours later, Kinger of Hearts had stayed true to his word, having downed several glasses at that point. Most of the more distinguished guests had filed out, with mainly guards and captains left, as well as other drunkards that they had to remove. Despite how most people and tables had been cleared away, the room felt far less empty with mainly just the trio standing in it. Kinger swayed a little on his feet, with Ragatha and Caine attempting to keep him upright. The two shared knowing glances, silently deciding that it would be best to completely finish the festivities. Before Mad Caine could suggest this to Kinger, however, the king spoke to him with a highly flirtatious tone.
"Heyyy, gorgeous~ you- you come 'round here often?" Ragatha put a hand to her mouth to try and muffle her snickers, while Caine gave Kinger a soft smile.
"Kinger, it's me, Mad Caine!" For the king's sake, he gave a quick glance to the guards, but they were busy removing a passed out accountant from the premises. "Your boyfriend?"
Kinger's eyes widened exponentially. "Woah... that's good. Vvvvery good." He cupped Caine's teeth with his hand. "Y-you're reeeeally pretty..."
The chess piece was mesmorised and Caine could feel his face heat up. Ragatha composed herself enough to put a gentle hand on Kinger's back.
"Your Majesty, you're drunk. You should go to bed." She looked to Mad Caine. "I can help you escort him there."
Caine, however, could clearly see the exhaustion on Ragatha's face, and refused to let her work any longer. "No, my dear! You need to rest for once. I have everything perfectly under control!" With that, Kinger rested his head on the top of Caine's teeth, abruptly shutting them.
Ragatha tried and failed to contain her laughter at Caine's muffled speaking while he tried to open his mouth again. She helped lift Kinger off of the hatter, smiling down at him. "Let me at least help get his Majesty out of here. Then I'll take a break."
Mad Caine agreed to these terms, and the two led Kinger of Hearts out and towards his room. They got halfway down the hall before Caine remembered that Ragatha had promised to rest, so he sent her to her chambers nearby. When the rabbit refused, insisting on helping further, Kinger of Hearts slurred out a threat to execute Ragatha if she didn't rest. She finally agreed, bidding Kinger good night and Caine good luck.
The hatter continued to walk with Kinger, holding one of his hands and with his other hand on the king's back. Kinger turned to face Caine, staring at him for a moment before speaking. "I love yoouuu."
Caine couldn't help but blush as a smile appeared on his face. "I love you too, my dear."
Kinger put a hand on Caine's waist and pulled him closer. "H-hey Caine, are you a flower? Be- because I wanna pollinate you~"
Mad Caine looked at the king in confusion for a moment before he remembered the biology of plant life. His teeth and gums became covered in a bright red as he began to stammer, his grip on Kinger's hand tightening.
"O-oh! Uh, I- l-let's just get you to your room!" He quickened his walking pace. The king's room was near the end of the hall, but he thankfully didn't have much further to go. Then the king would be able to sleep until he sobered up. While Kinger absent-mindedly matched his pace, he didn't stop flirting.
"Y-you're sooo cute... Hey, do- are you made of bees? Because yyyou're as honey as sweet..."
Mad Caine burst out laughing, although he did appreciate that Kinger tried. "Why, thank you, my dear." The hatter walked the king into his bedroom and sat him down on the bed. Before he could bid Kinger of Hearts goodnight, however, the king grabbed him and held him close, pulling Caine onto the bed with him.
Kinger kissed him repeatedly, and after a few moments, Caine returned the hug. He could tell that Kinger of Hearts was fighting sleep, so he decided to lay there with him, patiently waiting for Kinger to succumb to his exhaustion. Mad Caine adored these moments he had with Kinger, even if he would've preferred for the king to be sober, as it was something he had silently wished for for a long time. Eventually, he felt the kisses slow down and stop as Kinger finally fell asleep.
Caine let out a quiet sigh of both relief and content. He made a mental note to bring up their relationship and making it public once Kinger woke up, then drifted off himself, already excited to wake up next to Kinger in the morning.

Sunshine (Pomni x Ragatha) - Chapter 3: Helpless
Cover art by @blukiar
Tumblr media
[Click here to read from the beginning on AO3!]
The forest was as dismal as it was dark.
“H-Hello…?” Pomni let out a feeble whine, wrapping herself in a tight hug. She squirmed at every little sound — creatures skittering through the underbrush, leaves rustling in the howling wind, a distant choir of wolves serenading the sky. “Ragatha? A-Are you there? You’re supposed to be my partner, right?”
A bead of cold sweat raced down the length of her face. Was she alone? Please God, don’t let that be true. Please be there. Please say something. Please—
“There you are!”
Pomni flinched at the sudden voice.
“Wait right there, okay, new stuff?” the voice spoke again — friendly, familiar, and soothing in timbre. “I’ll come to you! Don’t move a muscle!”
Pomni had a lot of strengths — she was observant, organized, and a whiz at math, but she never was very good at following directions. Immediately, she ducked her head forward, charging toward the voice as fast as her feet would carry her.
Something felt off the moment she started moving. Her whole body felt twice as heavy, and the sound of clanging metal rattled her ears with every struggling step.
Her path cut through a shallow puddle; scummy, stagnant water splattered the ground as Pomni shoved her hands close to her face. She squinted. A pair of leather gauntlets existed where those stupid rubberhose gloves had been before.
What in the world was that about? Had Caine put her in an even wackier getup to humiliate her even further?
Still sprinting, Pomni shot a glance toward her torso. An ornate sword was hitched to the belt around her waist — but that’s about all she could make out before she crashed into Ragatha at full running speed, sending the patchwork doll tumbling to the ground.
“Ack! Ragatha! I, uh—” Pomni glanced around the dark woods, not quite sure what to do. In a moment of clarity, of course, it dawned on her that it would probably be polite to help her colleague up. Trying her hardest to not make the situation even more awkward, she looked away as she offered her hand.
Ragatha grabbed hold, and Pomni helped the doll back to her feet. “Oh my gosh, Ragatha, I-I-I’m sorry!” Pomni stammered, taking a deep breath, “I know you told me to stay put, but I—”
“Hey, hey. Don’t sweat it.” Ragatha gave Pomni’s fingers a light squeeze before finally letting go. She dusted off her mud-splattered dress to absolutely no effect. “We’re both safe. That’s all that matters.”
“You’re not hurt, are you?”
“Fit as a fiddle.” Ragatha smiled. “I can’t say the same for my costume, though…”
“Your…costume?” Pomni shuffled slightly closer, eyes not quite adjusted to the dark yet. Ragatha’s typical patchy dress was nowhere to be seen, replaced by something one might expect a goodhearted queen to wear in a medieval fantasy story. A small tiara crowned her head where her bow had sat before. Her short sleeves were twice as poofy, and her silky skirt, now a more royal shade of purple, flowed all the way down to her ankles.
Something deep inside of Pomni fluttered to life. Ragatha’s new look was…different. The redhead had always been pretty easy on the eyes, but now? Pomni found it hard to look away. Ragatha’s coordinated outfit contrasted perfectly with the elegant asymmetry of her face, and—
“My eyes are up here, Pomni.”
Pomni yelped. “Ah! Sorry, I didn’t mean to—” she shook her head, “I wasn’t—”
“Oh, stop it. I’m just kidding around!” Ragatha elbowed Pomni. Pomni barely budged. “Don’t get your pantaloons all in a twist.”
Pomni blinked rapidly. Her what?! Her fingers spread across her breastbone as she studied herself — she’d been so fixated on Ragatha that she'd totally forgotten about her own new threads.
The existing puffiness of her goofy jester’s outfit had been turned up to eleven — puffy sleeves, puffy pants, puffy everything. A pair of oversized boots protected her feet. Her collar was larger and frillier along the edges, covering part of the loose tunic draped over her body.
“I’m a…” her chin dipped toward her body, “…Caine turned me into a musketeer?!”
“With the feathered hat and everything! How delightfully dashing!” Ragatha covered her giggle with her hands, absolutely eating up Pomni’s shrinking stance. “Gosh, the only thing you’re missing is the pencil mustache. If only we had some grease paint…”
“Yeah, yeah. Yuck it up, why don’t you?” Pomni scrunched up her face to be as intimidating as possible — which wasn’t very much, considering she was also blushing — and drew her rapier from its scabbard. “I’m the one with the sword!”
“Please. You wouldn’t hurt a fly.” Ragatha booped Pomni’s nose. “And besides, sweetheart, I’m two heads taller than you. I could take you down with one arm tied behind my back, sword or not.”
The shy smile that had been tugging on Pomni’s mouth did more than break through — it bloomed into a tiny little chuckle. “Whatever.” She pushed Ragatha’s hand away and glanced at the path up ahead. “Aren’t we supposed to be doing something?”
🎪 🎪 🎪
Pomni planted another shaky step upon the uneven terrain. She didn’t pay mind to the crunching of leaves and snapping of twigs beneath her feet — the constant sound had long ago faded into the background.
Pale moonlight filtered through the canopy, illuminating the processions of twisted trees flanking either side of the winding path. The ancient timber swayed to and fro with the rhythm of the breeze, wailing a neverending requiem of haunting creaks and miserable moans. Intricate nets of spider silk stretched between each pair of knotted branches.
Pomni exhaled. Her knuckles, sore from clutching onto Ragatha’s skirt for so long, pulsed with nagging pain. Her aching legs begged for mercy, and her feet didn’t fare any better. Her annoyingly over-padded costume, though offering her thermal protection from the chilling wind, greatly restricted her range of motion. And it chafed like hell.
The young woman had every right to be absolutely miserable — yet at some point since she and Ragatha had set out together, a warm feeling had snuck its way into her chest, and hadn’t faded since.
The sensation wasn’t unwelcome — just odd, considering her horrifying predicament. Where had it come from? Was it the chance to finally stretch her legs after so many sedentary days? The simulated scent of earthy woodland air? Perhaps Pomni’s near-abstraction had scared her straight, and her subconscious was just clinging to Caine’s adventure to keep itself sane.
Pomni sighed, rubbing Ragatha’s medieval dress with her thumb. Discerning exactly what enchanted her wasn't worth the worry. For once, she wasn’t holding back tears, screams, or the urge to break something — and she would bask in that glow for as long as it would shine on her.
Swinging her other arm, Pomni glanced up to greet her pretty partner’s silhouette, and—
Oh, for #@%&’s sake.
“Hello? Earth to Pomni?” Ragatha was staring right at her. “Anyone home…?”
Pomni’s guts — or whatever it was she had stuffed in there — tied themselves into knots. Zoning-out mid-conversation was a forgivable mistake. Doing so two or three times in one day was embarrassing, but laughable after the fact. But four? Pomni was suddenly overcome with the distinct urge to plunge her head into the nearest hole in the ground.
“Ah! I’m sorry! I was listening! I was just, uh, thinking of what to say—”
“Humor me.” Ragatha palmed her shrimpy companion’s shoulder. “Before you ended up here, did you ever do any acting? School plays, community theater — that sort of thing?”
“N-No…?”
“Yeah. I can tell.”
Pomni’s eyes widened, but narrowed twice as quickly. “You—” she grumbled. She was already boiling to death in this stupid musketeer getup — she didn’t need Ragatha’s help to look any more like a bright red lobster. “Just repeat your question!”
“I said…” Ragatha practically sang, sticking her arm out to halt Pomni’s stride. She pointed her head down the path. “This looks like a nice place to sit down for a bit. What do you think?”
Pomni followed Ragatha’s gaze. Up ahead, the narrow tunnel of trees flaking the path eased away to form a sizable clearing. A colorful community of wildflowers, fed by a trickling stream, punctuated the carpet of grass that covered the flat expanse. Lichen bloomed upon half-decayed logs scattered randomly throughout. In the very center loomed a single, old-looking redwood; a thick beard of moss wound around its impressive trunk.
Pomni thought she was eager to return to the relative ‘safety’ of the tent (whatever that meant) but the serene sight — and the idea of sharing a moment of pause there with her adventure partner — made her reconsider. Caine’s adventure didn’t have a time limit, so it wouldn’t hurt to take it easy for a moment, would it? Besides, Pomni’s feet were absolutely killing her.
“Well…?” Ragatha looked at Pomni, “You’re allowed to say no.”
“No, it’s not that.” Pomni wore a whimsical smile — she sure had been doing that a lot lately. “I was just thinking. That sounds nice.”
🎪 🎪 🎪
“Okay. Your turn.” Ragatha prodded Pomni’s shoulder with a playful poke, “I’m talking way too much.”
“Oh! Um…” Pomni brushed her hand across the fallen log on which she and Ragatha sat. “That’s okay. I don’t mind just listening.”
“You misunderstand. I insist. It’s hard work filling up every little lull in conversation, you know.”
“Sorry.” Pomni kicked her feet with a sigh. She wasn’t exactly an introvert, but no matter how hard she tried, socializing just wasn’t her strong suit. “I guess I just don’t have anything interesting to say.”
“Just talk about whatever’s on your mind. I like hearing your thoughts.”
Pomni eased a bit at that. After a moment of hesitation, she nodded.
“Well, I wasn’t going to say anything, but…” Pomni flicked the ornate sword hitched to her belt, “If this adventure is supposed to be haunted house themed, then why the heck are we dressed for a day at the renaissance faire?”
“Yeah…” Ragatha rubbed the back of her neck. “You can blame Caine’s AI for that one.”
Pomni swallowed. Her warden being nothing but a jumble of computer code didn’t change her circumstances — yet the reminder still made the sour flavor in the back of her throat taste even worse.
“I don’t know how it works,” said Ragatha, “but something about his adventure-generating algorithm likes to create funky anomalies like that. You’ll stop noticing it after a while.”
“I wish I could stop noticing a lot of things about Caine.”
Ragatha’s ladylike giggle made the gloomy grove feel just a little brighter. “Get this. One time, he put us in these elaborate Victorian ballgowns for — wait for it — a sandcastle building contest.”
Pomni’s snort was the exact opposite of graceful. She could only imagine how disastrous that particular adventure had turned out. She pictured Zooble broken into pieces, cursing at the tide as their triangular head washed ashore; Kinger would be of little help, preoccupied with staring at the little crabs skittering across the sand. Gangle, Pomni imagined, would tackle the sandcastle-building with aplomb, and Jax would be equally enthused about playing the part of the stereotypical beach bully.
And then there was Ragatha. Pomni figured that the beauty would mostly keep to herself, sculpting sand with diligence and grace — but her daydream didn’t concern itself much with what Ragatha was building. There was a far more pressing issue to settle first, namely:
“What did yours look like?”
“My sandcastle?”
Sheepishly, Pomni pulled down the brim of her feathered cap. Her voice was suddenly a lot quieter. “…Y-Your outfit…?”
“Oh! Okay! Well…” Ragatha grabbed a handful of her flowing skirt; she almost looked nervous, although her face was difficult to make out in the dark. “I don’t have the sharpest memory, but from what I can remember, it looked about as ugly as the little number I’m wearing right now.”
“What? No! I think it looks nice!” Pomni turned away, idly tapping her fingers. “To be honest, you’d probably look great in just about anything…”
“I appreciate that you’re trying to make me feel better, but let’s be real. This style went out of fashion five centuries ago.”
“I’m not just being nice! Promise! I think you’re beauti—” Pomni hacked up a lung, standing sharply. “It! It’s beautiful! The dress!” Head spinning, she leaned against the nearest tree, face turning redder by the second — it’s anyone’s guess as to how she didn’t pass out right there and then. “It’s a real keeper! A-plus!”
Ragatha tilted away. “Thank you…?”
“D-D-Don’t mention it! Anyway, this was a great break. Ready to head out?!” Pomni sped toward the other end of the clearing.
“Hey! Get back here!” Ragatha’s voice called after. “It’s barely been fifteen minutes! Where do you think you’re…”
Ragatha hesitated.
“…going…?”
Pomni, still feeling a distinct burning behind her ears, kept up her pace, approaching the large tree in the center of the clearing. She mindlessly traced her fingers across its jagged trunk. Her and her big mouth. Why did she say that? Why did she have to make it weird?!
The tree twitched its rotten branches twice. The wispy breeze stilled, and the forest fell silent.
“Pomni!” Ragatha huffed, wet moss squishing beneath her racing feet. “Stop!”
“Rest all you want!” Pomni grumbled. She was still terrified of the forest, but she wasn’t about to give up on her bluff. “I’m going ahead — the others are probably way ahead of us by now! Do you really want to give Jax another thing to—”
“I said STOP!”
Pomni’s hair stood on end as Ragatha grabbed hold of her arm.
Scowling, the jester whipped around — but her face softened once she noticed how hard Ragatha’s arm was shaking.
“Are you…” Pomni’s voice was small. For a moment, she considered wrapping her hand around the ragdoll’s quivering arm, but with her latest faux pas still fresh in her mind, she simply said: “Are you okay?”
High above, the giant tree’s branches twitched again, knocking loose a handful of crisp leaves that had still been hanging on the ends. They fluttered to the ground, settling atop Pomni’s feathered cap.
“Get behind me.” Ragatha’s voice wavered, “Right now.”
Pomni’s stomach hardened — Something was wrong. Very, very, wrong. She opened her mouth to ask what, but her persistent stutter strangled her voice into silence. Nothing would come out. Not a single sound, no matter how hard she forced it.
Giving up, Pomni just did as she was told. Pupils the size of pins, she peered around Ragatha’s back. Her twitching gaze stumbled around her periphery.
Only then did Pomni see it — the tree. Its massive trunk looked to be breathing, gently expanding and harshly contracting on a steady pulse.
Lazily, the monstrous redwood shifted its massive weight toward the intruders, scattering the congress of ravens perched upon its limbs. Pomni, Ragatha, and everything else under the moon shivered at the shrill moan of creaking timber.
Pomni shuddered. “What the…” She took a step back, “What the #%@& is—”
With a deafening crack, hundreds of thorns erupted from beneath half-decayed bark.
“Your sword!” Ragatha shouted, “Give it to me, now!”
Pomni scrambled to pull her rapier from its sheath — but the very moment she overcame her shuddering fingers to do so, a massive branch pounded the ground, knocking the woman cleanly off her feet. Her blade skidded across the ground.
“Pomni!” Ragatha slapped her hands over her mouth.
A thorny branch seized the jester’s leg, wrapping it tightly. Pomni unleashed a string of angry curses, grasping desperately for her weapon — but it was no use. A few rain-soaked leaves still clung to her face as she was yanked into the air, squirming, flailing, and utterly helpless.
“Ragatha!” Pomni screamed. Helpless, helpless, helpless. After so many repetitions, the word didn’t even sound real, devolving into a random assortment of meaningless phonemes. Helpless, helpless, helpless. Yet no other word could so succinctly describe her harrowing predicament — to be trapped in mortal peril for which the only escape was the selfless act of another.
Helpless. The concept felt so horribly familiar.
“No! Leave me alone!” Pomni grunted at her own psyche, squeezing her eyes shut. Her throat felt tighter as unwanted visions of the recent past besieged her mind. “Go away — go away!”
No matter how hard the shameful memory was suppressed, how many layers of denial it was buried beneath, nothing could stop that persistent nightmare from stalking her from the shadows.
She was never, ever safe — not even in the waking world. One second, she was fine, and the next, the wire had been tripped, and nothing Pomni could say could possibly release her from its snare.
Hallway. Kaufmo. A beaten and bruised Ragatha, paralyzed by the beast’s corrupting touch. The ragdoll’s own body had turned against her, grotesquely twisting and warping and flickering and twitching as her very existence fell apart at the seams.
Ragatha’s wincing expression had looked Pomni straight in the eyes. “Do ̸y̴ou̸ ̵think̴ y̵o̸u̵ ̵c̵o̸u̵l̵d̵,̴ p̸erhap̵s̵,̵ ̸hel̴p m̴e̸ ̸o̴u̸t̵, he̵re?” she’d politely pleaded, pain soaking into every disjointed word. “I̵ u̵n̵de̵rst̸and ̸i̸f̴ ̴yo̸u ̴do̵n'̵t̴ w̴a̴n̵t̵ ̵t̸o̸, t̴h̵o̵ugh̴.̸.̵."̸
What had Ragatha thought as she watched Pomni hesitate to help? Had she felt relief when the jester finally extended a hand? What about when Pomni had flinched away, discarding the doll the very second her own safety had been put into question? What had gone through Ragatha’s mind after Pomni had left her for dead, uttering a simple “I’m sorry” to soften the blow of her selfish flight?
The surreal beast had pursued Pomni, and Ragatha had been spared — but Pomni knew that had not been her plan.
“What was I supposed to do?!” A second thorny branch slithered around Pomni’s waist. “I’m not a bad person! I didn’t—” The woman’s terrified cry stopped short as the branch squeezed her stomach flat, emptying the breath from her lungs.
She heard nothing but the sound of her own thumping heart. Where was Ragatha? Was she still by her side? Would she put herself in jeopardy for the coward who had deserted her, or would she even the score, fleeing for her own sake while she still had the chance?
Pomni didn’t dare open her eyes to see for herself, and therein lied her answer. Alone, afraid, and abandoned — that’s how Ragatha had felt.
A familiar, tingling pain nibbled at Pomni’s fingers as her thoughts began to spiral. Ragatha,, the rock keeping her tethered to this meaningless existence, was a victim. Her victim. Ragatha had every reason to thoroughly despise Pomni — which meant her affable nature could only be a pragmatic facade.
The dark clouds returned. The world grew darker.
The creeping abstraction, hidden beneath Pomni’s clothes, wrapped around her wrists and skated up her arms. A dozen eyes, large and small, bloomed across the corruption like a malignant rash. Tremors shook Pomni’s whole body, and she groaned as the horrendous pain overtook her.
Weakly, she resisted — but her despair was stronger.
Twitching eyes and blackened skin raced up her neck, across her chest, around her back. Thoughts flickered out before they could finish as her mind decayed, and at long last, Pomni felt herself falling. Was this it? Was this what it felt like to—
Pomni’s back slammed into the ground. Hard. Her pinwheel eyes flung open, and she would have gasped had she any breath left to do so.
Dead leaves fluttered down from the dense canopy above. The rocky soil below prodded her backside. Somewhere close by, a mature, feminine voice—
Pomni sat up in a flash, clutching her fluttering chest. Her heartbeat — as well as the slithering darkness wrapped halfway around her face — halted at the sight before her.
Stiff, severed branches littered the forest floor, curled in on themselves like a nest of swatted insects. Oozing stumps enveloped the monstrous redwood where its branches used to root.
Before the monster’s corpse stood Ragatha, sword in hand. Her skirt was cut to ribbons, and lumps of cotton tumbled out of open cuts on her arms, legs, and torso.
With one final grunt, Ragatha drove the blade cleanly through the towering beast’s trunk. The redwood recoiled as if to scream, its dying pose frozen in time as the cadaver it left behind hardened to stone.
Only after the petrification had encased the beast entirely did Ragatha’s powerful stance finally wither. Heaving, she collapsed to the ground, quaking arms barely catching her fall.
Pomni’s eyes glistened; the creeping black was gone.
“Ragatha! No, no, no!” Pomni scrambled to Ragatha’s side. She shook the woman’s drooping shoulders. “Get up — get up!”
Ragatha’s battered body still clearly roared with pain — but somehow, she still found the strength to lift up her head. “Don’t be so dramatic.” She laughed weakly, embracing Pomni’s hand with her own. “I’m just catching my breath.”
Pomni shakily swallowed, forgetting to blink. Ragatha was in bad shape. Very bad. Her face was pale. Her chest trembled greatly with each labored breath. Parts of her stuffing, poking out from her wounds, breathed in a black, inky substance that flowed steadily from her insides.
She squeezed Ragatha’s hand, trying as hard as she could to keep herself together — but the moment she opened her mouth to speak, it was all over.
“Why—” Pomni’s voice cracked. A tear traced the curves of her face. A second followed, and then a third. “Why did you—”
Ragatha’s brows came together. She grasped the little jester’s face and thumbed away her tears. “Why did I what, sweetheart?”
Pomni shook her weary head. Too exhausted to even begin making sense of it all, she surrendered, diving into Ragatha’s strong embrace with a whimper and a sob.

Whew! This one sure took me a while. Thank you all for your patience. I hope you enjoy it!

Is it okay for me to ask you to make a design for my oc in your au? Like- how would they look like in your vision? It's okay if you don't want to! ^^ you can even not answer this ask if you don't feel like it!
Tumblr media
(It's originally a FNAF oc I had for a really long time now (Since the second game actually!) But I don't mind them being in other fandoms lol)
Ohh sick, I don’t usually do designs for other folks unless ya pay me some money for it but I could give you some pointers
Like I said with the others, pick a theme first, a particular type of freak you might want your character to represent (for instance zooble is a strong man, and gangle is akin to Siamese twins) or generally a role you’d find in a typical early 1900s circus. I’d assume perhaps a clown based on their current design (I would say jester if jesters weren’t more royal fools than an actual circus.)
A lot of my thought process behind my designs were ‘what can I do to make them look morbid’.. (granted I had a friend helping me out with those designs or at least putting together ideas for how they’d work out) I’d probably also help to figure out a gimmick you might want to give them or something that separates them from the rest .
Go crazy with the gore too, the filter is off
..and lastly.. photo realistic eyes, the most fun part because they’re on all of the characters who’ve been severely affected by the circus (kinger and Pomni would be the only one missing at least one), though depends if you plan on having your oc a new addition or a preexisting one, new additions often don’t change much from og design unless it doesn’t fit their theme already (otherwise Caine oiled change it).. older characters might look more deranged and eerie, just depends on the how they would fare in these kind of conditions.
I hope that was a tinsy bit helpful

some thoughts on digital circus while I was eating a fudge pop
So Pomni's reaction to being trapped within the Digital Circus is used as a form of comedy. Which makes sense, considering she's a jester, a performer meant to make people laugh.
But it's also intriguing, considering the role of a jester was to point out the flaws of the monarch in a comedic fashion, being part of the performing class, who could get away with such. And who is the monarch/leader of the Circus? Caine.
A general consensus online is that Caine isn't intentionally causing the poor mental conditions for the people trapped in the Digital Circus, his A.I simply doesn't understand the way the human brain works.
It's also interesting considering that Caine had to fix Ragatha's glitching by seeing her condition and snapping his fingers. He didn't know about Pomni's glitching, but she was still fixed.
Considering Pomni's role as the main character, I wonder if the series is going to lean into her being special from the other prisoners of the Circus, and her being the one to point out the flawed way Caine runs the circus, like a jester typically does.
additional thoughts
- It wasn't only jesters that could poke fun of the nobles; bards and posts could do so as well. Gangle, being themed after theater masks, might also play a part of showing Caine the flawed way he's running things.
She might also be paired with Pomni in the series, since while this is a circus, the only ones with entertainment themes are herself, Pomni, and Caine
- Jax and Pomni might also be a duo, but more subtle. He's like a jester, poking fun at others and causing general mayhem, but he doesn't seem to be interested in improving things, simply making fun of people for his own enjoyment.
Maybe the series will draw parallels between the two and Pomni will have to show him that contributing to the crappy conditions of the circus doesn't help anyone, including himself.
- Kinger is what you probably thought of when I mentioned the term monarch, and considering the fact that he has knowledge of the digital world that seems to not be as well known by the others (as shown by Jax being surprised at Kinger being an expert) along with the mystery of Queenie, maybe Pomni and Kinger will be at odds with each other to contribute to the 'jester and royal court' motif.
Kinger was the first to bring up Kaufmo's insanity, and the first to suggest Pomni might be insane as well. That, alongside the possibility of him and Queenie being close and Queenie having abstracted, he might be put off by Pomni's rebellion and try to quell it.
then again, they could be doing something entirely different, and I'm here for it. I'm excited to see what this show brings.
IDK man I was rewatching the pilot and was brainrotting.

Jester, not Clown. Fool, not idiot.
Tumblr media
This is going to be a bit of a pointless rant, BUT.
I'm sure someone already did this, but I want to do my own theorizing and detail dump. I realized that there were several clown-ish characters crossed out in the hallway featured in the pilot, including Kaufmo, but no jesters. So with the idea of Kinger having been with a 'Queen' character once before (and of course, we assigned a meaning to that, right?)
So, the characters forms got to have some meaning, which means I get to dive into a thorough analysis of what a jester and/or fool is supposed to be, do and represent.
Unlike modern clowns, jesters were employed by royalty to entertain the court, which is why they were called court jesters. They could also perform for the general public as part of travelling performers, but the connection to the court is what stuck out to me, since we already have a literal chess King as a character. And the close connection to the royal court would give jesters a bit more insight into the workings of the court and were given the privilege to speak the truth for comedic value. (Which is also something Shakespeare liked to do, let his jesters be little oracles of a sort.)
They were even considered as advisors and critics at times, since they had the Jester's Privilege to speak freely to the crown.
This, in combination with Pomni seeing and going for the elusive Exit right off the bat, makes me think she's just gonna keep seeing a bunch of stuff that was supposed to remain behind the scenes and hopefully relay it to the others. This has already happened in the second episode, in part. But she is still new, ergo a fool.
Which brings me to the dumbest connection my brain has made: The Fool tarot card.
The major arcana cards in tarot are supposed to represent life-altering events, the big steps a human being takes on their life's journey. And the Fool, number 0, is the first. (Usually pictured happily walking off a cliff, with their gaze to the clouds.)
The idea is that the fool has the potential to be great, but due to inexperience, may be seen as stupid.
So, whether the 'court' in the Amazing Digital Circus is a nod towards Kinger or Caine, I have no idea. Functionally, Caine is in charge, but maybe Kinger was at some point? Maybe it's both, but the one thing I am certain about in this chaotic trainwreck of a show is that Pomni is gonna wise up real quickly, and once she does, she'll probably dismantle the whole system.
Rant over. Do with it what you will.

Is it me or Kinger and Pomni have something in common?
Both have someone who will protect them (Zooble for Kinger as royal guard and Ragatha as Pomni friend)
both (probably) have higher health bars than the rest of the gang (Kinger for difficulty level, Pomni level is a tutorial so players can make mistakes and didnt accidentally kill Pomni)
both also parts of nobel (royalty for Kinger, low nobility for Pomni) (assuming she is a court jester), not related but hey I like overanalyze)
Kinger has an admin power, and Pomni smh can detect 'who try to break the collars' power in your non sentient Pomni doodles. (Do Kinger take Pomni power before she sentient to help Queenie free from the collar???)
Kinger becomes sentient the first, and Pomni sentient the last, and they are at the end of the rope!
Magenta + teal = purple
... Well that's all I can come up with.
Honestly, If Pomni were to be sentient earlier, Kinger and Pomni may become good friends. Who knows.
Fehehe ... Kinger and Pomni have quite a pit of writing parallels, yeah... So glad you picked up on some of them.

The gangs all here!
Hello! Now that the main cast is finished, I get to reveal some info on each of the characters. So here goes nothing!
Tumblr media
Caine
Lovable, wacky and most of all loves to put on a good show, Caine is the host with the most of the funhouse and his performances and magic tricks are eager to give the most famous magicians a run for their money. With his butter smooth voice and over optimistic personality, he knows how to put on a good show. His personality may make him seem like a out of control ringmaster but don’t let that fool you! Despite his let loose kind of attitude, he still strives to entertain you, no matter what!
Bubble
Meet Bubble, Caine’s partner in crime and his loyal yet quite goofy co-host, always having something random to say when his best bud gets a little too rowdy. His actions may make him look like an annoying little rascal and for how annoying he may be, he has his friends back. When it’s helping to hosting a party or eating all the food that he promised is for his friends, he is the silly little rascal we all know and love.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pomni
Pomni is a jester that always finds a way to make her friends laugh whenever they feel down. But when she is not making the audience have another trip to the loo, she can be found hanging out with her best buds most of the time but can be seen having her own personal space. She has a wild attitude that doesn’t mind causing trouble when it comes for her time to shine. And please don’t call her short.
Jax
The funhouse’s cocky and laid back inventor! This periwinkle rabbit is known for his wacky inventions that ether turn out to be a big mistake or operate successfully. When he isn’t in his workshop, he is also known to be quite the prankster! But don’t always expect him to be like that when it comes to his opinions towards his friends. Design the case, just try to stay on his chill side and not his crazy prankster side.
Ragatha
Introducing Ragatha or Rags or short, our sweet, caring and compassionate ragdoll that is quite the gamer! In fact, she has the highest scores on many of the games here, now that’s what we call talent. When there is a problem. She will be always be there to help out when trouble rises. Ether way, She is that iconic dolly that is sure to show that kindness is always the answer.
Tumblr media
Gangle
Confident on the outside as much as shy she is on the inside, Gangle is quite the fan of musicals and everything theatre! She may look confident and brave but don’t think that’s the case! In reality, she is actually is quite a shy bunch of ribbons but when you get to know her, she may or may not dump you on her favourite musicals. Just don’t break her comedy mask.
Zooble
Chill, Groovy and quite the opposite from the rest of the gang, Zooble is sure to make you dance along to sweet mixtapes and remixes! Whereas the rest of the cast is more high energy, Zooble is more chill and has a sense of swag and is pretty competitive when it comes to games. You can tell she’s a winner! But nothing compares to her sick beats and her rockin’ remixes! When she starts the party, you know you’re in for a awesome time.
Kinger
Hailing from royal origins, Kinger is known for being abit of a coo-coo bananas kind of person with a fascination in insects and magic! Some consider him “Crazy” but despite the fact, he isn’t afraid to be brutally honest about his history and how talented he is at magic, in fact he is a pro at it! Whenever he is making snarky comments on his insects or duelling with guests with a sword in hand, he is just there to make guests smile!

GUYS listen i just got such a big brain idea. I'm slightly obsessed with it, but art block is hitting me like a freight train
Anyways, TADC PANTHEON AU AUUGHFHGHG
well, not exactly. I'm not really basing them on any real gods or goddesses, i'm going on vibes alone KBKGK
i also love me some immortal/mortal dynamic. i'm a sucker for it, and who's better than the doomed yuri to take that role. Goddess Ragatha and the random human who she found in the woods, Pomni. Who also works as a jester for some royal family or something something idk what im doing
anyways, if ur interested perhaps i'll put it in my tadc au book...also idc if u use this idea, im not original either so i'd be a hypocrite. Just please don't claim my ideas as your own, thats it! But still, if you come up with your own ideas or designs, please let me know (only if you want!). I want more silly circus content on my plate.
