Solsona, Spain (No. 4)

The Plaza Mayor is the main square of the city. It is a square characterized by the porches of the houses that exist. In it the main streets of the city are: Calle del Castillo, Calle de Llobera and Calle de San Miguel. It is the point where the most outstanding events of the most important festivals held in Solsona take place: The Festa Major and the Corpus and the Carnival, as well as other events such as fairs and the weekly market on Tuesdays and Fridays. Of the buildings in the square, the Casa Aguilar stands out, which was once a stately home of successive dynasties of merchants and nobles.

As someone passionate about architecture I have to mention, the Plaza Mayor in Salamanca. The extravagant style of Catholic Baroque became very popular in Spain and it can be seen all over the city.

Baroque style can be a little too much sometimes, and that takes away the elegance of the place, but in terms of religious architecture I think it is quite adequate.

I really liked Salamanca. I only wished I had more time to enjoy every corner of the city. Next time more and better tour.
