Yesterday, while talking about my serving job, my office coworker said, “You ever feel like you’re in a Broadway show, like it’s just the same thing repeating night after night?” I said, “Absolutely. There’s a song in the Beetlejuice musical where he goes, ‘I do this bullshit, like, eight times a week,’ and I swear I think of it every single day on my way to work.”
A couple of weeks ago a woman at one of my tables asked if I’m “in the theater” and I said no, and she was like, “oh, you just seem like you have that personality.” I don’t need to join the local theater, ma’am, I already act for a living at this job. You’re simply seeing through the cracks in my carefully crafted but summer-worn worksona. I said to my coworker, “I was just assigned theater kid by this woman,” and they said, “She probably clocked that you’re gay but she’s too straight to realize it so she was like, ‘She must…do theater.’”
#so don’t be freaked. stay in your seats. i do this bullshit like eight times a week.#so just relax; you’ll be fine. drink your $50 wine and take a breath.#<- truly me whenever customers start getting pissed about fucking anything#my patience is wearing SO thin which is how i know it’s august#last week i let a table know their food was on its way and asked if they needed anything before it came out#and the guy goes ‘yeah when’s our food coming?’ i was like ‘..AS I SAID-’#last night a woman asked if she could sub out pasta for a vegetable and i said ya the options are blah blah blah#she was like ‘a veggie sauté? what’s that?’ i said ‘it’s a mix of vegetables.’ ‘but what’s in it?’#i just flipped her menu over while holding eye contact with her and pointed to the description on the menu#my other favorite: can i get you anything else to drink besides water? coke diet coke sprite iced tea lemonade club soda?#‘can i have a root beer?’ ‘do u guys have dr. pepper?’#……#COKE. DIET COKE. SPRITE. ICED TEA-#‘oh okay i’ll have a pepsi’#AND I HOPE YOU DIE. I HOPE WE BOTH DIE.

Going To Costco with Jake Jensen
It's that time of the month!
It's time for you and Jake to go to Costco.
You get there early to do the cans and bottles,
Jake grabs the SUV sized cart.
You made the list.
Jake, when left to his own devices, will NEVER make a list.
Which is why he spends more money that he intends to.
You show your membership card to the greeter.
First thing's first.
Jake has to look at every computer, every tablet, every phone, and every TV.
Then, Jake sees a few old-school arcade games.
Of course, Jake has to look at every one.
It takes longer than you intended because Jake has to touch and look at every electronic and device.
Eventually, you and Jake make your way to the toilet paper.
But you get a two pack of sweatpants and a two pack of T-shirt.
You basically live in sweats when you're home.
Which Jake finds incredibly sexy and cute.
You go to the bakery section, and get muffins, carrot and chocolate cupcakes.
You and Jake get the toilet paper, the bottled water, and the seltzer water.
You and Jake also get frozen pizza, gluten free chicken nuggets (those are GOOD!), fish sticks, and you even get fruit and veggies.
You get the Cherry Barbecue chips, and you get two bags because they don't last too long between the both of you.
(If you haven't had these, try them. They're good, and they're Michigan made! I'm a Michigander, and I love these things. Cherry barbecue sauce is tasty if you do it right.)
You get granola bars, some chocolate chip cookies, oatmeal bites, even bread, and breakfast bites to have as a mid-morning snack.
You even make sure to get plenty of kibble, wet food, and doggy toys and doggy treats for Mario.
You also get a huge thing of both plain and peanut M & M's, cheese and caramel popcorn (Chicago or Detroit popcorn, depending on which city you are in-I just call it cheese and caramel corn), and Sander's sea salt caramels (another good thing, trust me a jar doesn't last too long in the house, because we ALL eat it, no matter how hard we resist).
You get coffee and vitamins, with a huge pack of Coke and Pepsi for Jake.
Jake pays for the purchase, and you go to the food court and get you and Jake a slice of pizza and some vanilla soft serve.
You put the pizza and soft serve in a box.
You and Jake arrive home, and you put the lunch in the kitchen.
You put the soft serve in the freezer.
You and Jake unload the car.
After you and Jake put everything away, you both change into your sweats, and you even wear one of Jakes really big graphic tees, with on of his hoodies over it.
Jake is in his sweats, graphic tees, and hoodie.
You and Jake have been together for two years, living together for one, so you two dress alike, even though you and Jake both work from home.
Jake literally pretends to be annoyed by it, but he finds this incredibly sexy deep down.
You both eat your pizza.
You grab two bottles of water, and you put some lemonade mix in it.
You both have lemonade.
You then eat your dessert.
After, you two try to watch a movie, but you both fall asleep on the couch.
Jake grabs a blanket, and he covers you both with a blanket.
You both sleep for the rest of the afternoon, and you order Chinese for dinner.
Because screw it, you're both WAY too lazy to cook tonight.
You read your book after you're done, and Jake plays a video game for a bit.
Eventually, you two fall asleep in bed later that night, but after you two have some adult fun time activities.
That's to help burn off lunch and dinner.
You and Jake wouldn't trade this for the world.

Saiki K characters getting slushies
Kaidou - mixes every flavour
Kuboyasu - Swears by a 'recipe' and when not all of the three flavours are available he gets pissed and storms out then comes back in to get something like lime (acidic but sweet). Will mix with a shot of vodka on the sly.
Nendo - Pepsi, swears it tastes different from Coke, will not get any Coke brand flavours, will sulk if the store doesn't have Pepsi.
Saiki - Right there with Kaidou mixing every flavour, has THE biggest cup, and is showing off his Advanced Slushy Pour Technique - EXCEL.
Akechi - ......lemon. you know why.
Aiura - Bubblegum or cherry or strawberry lemonade. Depending, might eyeball Kuboyasu's vodka in consideration, making him very nervous.
Toritsuka - He's over by the nudey mags but he'll get whichever colour makes him horniest, then takes one sip of it, grimaces, and throws it out cus actually he hates slushies (prefers shaved ice, IT'S DIFFERENT OKAY), and he'll do this every time.
Hairo - Whichever one is red cus he's RED HOT LET'S GET FIRED UP EVERYONE WORK WORK WORK ah it's melting, it's melti- Drinks warm juice.
Yumehara - Takes a long time to figure out if she wants just the one flavour (bubblegum) or if she wants to mix all the flavours after figuring out if she wants the small cup or the large cup.
Saiko - "What the hell sort of plebian thing is a slushie?" Loves them. Steals Kuboyasu's recipe. Gets his own slushie machine. Mocks Kuboyasu by always having those flavours in stock and in working order. Has never seen alcohol before in his life.
Satou - Coke, maybe? If it's available, if not, peach. If not peach, eh, whatevers good?
Mera - Mouth under the nozzle, mixing every flavour and chugging like a fiend, getting kicked out of the store.
Imu - Prefers to throw slushies at rude boys clustering around Teruhashi instead of drinking them.
Teruhashi - Heretic who won't drink slushies.
Kusuke - Heretic who only drinks monster energy.
Suzumiya - Has Type 1 Diabetes.

Mod Weeping ❤️- uhhhh idk we haven’t played Pokémon in forever TvT but favourite drink is iced coffees (especially caramel ones), honeydew milk tea with boba/bubbles, and Mexican/spicy hot chocolate
mod plush 🌻 — we don't really have a set team, but our favorite pokemon are furret, girafarig, dragonite, mareep, milotic, and rhydon! our favorite drink is iced tea (bonus if its mixed with lemonade). thank you for asking! ^_^
mod wonder - my favorite drink is probably brisk raspberry iced tea. beautiful and perfect
mod morpho 🦋 — never played pokémon, but my favorite drink is hot chocolate! though if I go to a shop selling drinks, I get whatever decaf or non caffeinated seasonal / limited time drink they have
Mod Avon 📖 - Not sure on a full team, but it must have Dragonair. That’s my favorite! As for drink, I love Wildcard Sodas (what I call the mix of sodas from a fountain). My typical mix involves Wild Cherry Pepsi, Dr. Pepper, Root Beer, Strawberry Mtn Dew, and Lemonade.
Mod Bugz 🐛 - I have never played pokemon before :[ I don’t know many of the actual names of Pokemon, but there are some designs I find to be very cute. I also have very different favorites; monster ultra strawberry dreams, dr pepper, chocolate milk, boba tea, unsweetened green tea and some more!

Preliminary Gayeties: Preparatory Materials for Interested Parties
Greetings, all! As you may be aware, @barricadescon (x) is happening this weekend. Myself (x), @shitpostingfromthebarricade (x), and @grantairelibere (x) will be hosting one of the social night panels, and we are BEYOND excited! Below, I’ve got a bit more information for you:
As you may know, Preliminary Gayeties is one of the chapters of the Brick, in which Grantaire, Joly, and Bossuet get a bit trashed while they wait for Lamarque’s funeral to reach the riot stage. The three of us have a fairly longstanding personal tradition of reading this chapter aloud and playing a drinking game whenever we’re together, and it is to this custom that we would like to invite all of you. Now, in order to fully participate, you may need some supplies! All versions of these supplies are equally valid, and certainly it can be played with simple water and any snackie of your choice. However, we find it is MOST amusing when you have a specific bev or snack to stand in for each one specified. To that end, we provide a guide below so that as many people as possible may be prepared to participate fully in our game!
First of all, we need some bevs:
The primary drink is (usually red) wine. For substitutions, we suggest: any wine you personally prefer, a wine cooler, grape juice, grape flavored gatorade/sports drink, any kind of purple drink mix, some water with red/purple food coloring in it, Just Straight Up Water, whatever speaks to you!
In much smaller quantities, the activity also calls for beer (specifically stout), brandy, and absinthe.
For beer, we suggest: any beer of your choice, a nonalcoholic beer, some lemonade, Just Some Bread, ginger beer, ginger ale, any kind of cola, etc.
For brandy, we suggest: brandy, whiskey, any dark liquor, Just A Shot of Maple Syrup, tea, a shot of coke or pepsi, etc.
For absinthe, we will do The Ritual, in which you put a small amount of absinthe in a cup, put a sugar cube in a strainer above it, and slowly pour water over the cube until it has dissolved. For substitutions, we suggest: any violently green energy drink, mountain dew, sugar water with green food coloring, Just Eat Some Licorice, ouzo, a straight shot of lime juice, or anything else unhinged that your little heart desires!
For snacks, we suggest you have some bread, along with…
Oysters. For substitutions, consider: smoked salmon/lox, any shellfish or seafood of your choice, some nice oyster mushrooms, oyster crackers, gummies shaped like shells idk do they sell those, frankly Swedish Fish, etc.
Brie. For substitutions, consider: any kind of cheese or faux-cheese, any kind of Bread Spread you prefer, butter, flavored butter, jam, marmalade, etc
Ham. For substitutions, consider: bacon, turkey bacon, turkey, any kind of cold cut you prefer, thinly sliced vegetables, veggie burger, etc

What I think everyone's favorite drinks are:
Darry: He's old and works all day, he probably drinks ginger ale and water 24/7. Maybe on special occasions a beer or two.
Sodapop: definitely loves Fanta. Fanta gives him a bunch of different flavors to choose from, or sometimes he mixes all the flavors. He occasionally drinks like any type of juice as well.
Ponyboy: Pepsi. I can't explain it, he just looks like he really really likes Pepsi. Specifically Vanilla Pepsi. He probably debates what's better, Pepsi or Coca Cola. He probably also drinks Gatorade (the white one) because he's also an athlete.
Johnny: He likes kool-aid. Whatever flavor, he doesn't care. Maybe also a Coca-Cola once in a while. He doesn't know why he likes Kool-aid, he just does.
Dally: He's doesn't have one, but he's usually seen drinking Coca-Cola, sprite, literally any basic carbonated drink except root beer. He hates root beer. Unironically.
Two-bit: Beer. I mean, he's always drinking it, but an alternative is coke and rootbeer. Maybe he'll mix it with other drinks too, because he's funny like that. Like some grape Fanta with root bear.
Steve: Sprite (lmao) and some root beer. Most of the time he's forced to drink Fanta because that's like the only thing Soda drinks, so he also has a small soft spot for Fanta in his heart.
Curly: He'll drink whatever you'll give him, but his favorite drink is definitely Jarrito's because the bottle makes him feel bad ass. Also he can smash the bottle and shit (like the hard headed kid he is).
Tim: ...*cough* Lemonade *cough*.... okay but i actually don't know why, maybe because I like lemonade and I like Tim. Also be probably likes lemonade but really sweet. Like so much sugar that it has a pile at the bottle of the glass. If it's too sweet then Curly won't ask for some, that's why.

so, in no particular order:
Strawberry smoothie! a really thick one that you eat with a spoon. whenever I have one it's always made at home with frozen strawberries from the ge
peace tea! it's this one brand of cold fruit teas that I absolutely LOVE. unfortunately, price went up from like 89 cents to 2 dollars a can. they're still the length of my forearm and taste really good though, so it's worth it every once in a while
strawberry bubble tea! specifically, with lychee jelly. we've tried a handful of places over the years, but unfortunately. bubble tea spensive. there are a couple really good places though! I also really enjoy mango
this one asian jelly drink my mom gets! the jelly comes in cans, and you have to cut them up, then you boil water and dissolve a lot of sugar in it and mix everything in a pitcher with ice. it's super yummy and always disappears within three days
iced earl grey/iced pecoe tea!! we get tea bags, I boil some water, I mix in sweetener and the tea bags, then I dunk in some ice. it's one of my favourite, relatively low effort, very accessible (for me) drinks to make! we pretty much always have the stuff for it right here at home
and this is also the part where you figure out. anything I drink usually falls into at least two of the following: tea, fruity/strawberry, cold, sweet
also special mentions to: pepsi, sprite, fruittopia, strawberry milk, lemonade, the soy sauce/sugar/sometimes lemon sauce that I make to eat with dumplings and chicken hearts (drank in single sips, don't worry), mango/peach juice, and iced caps and iced coffees from Tim Hortons

I tried the Faygo Arctic Sun Real Sugar Soda and it was pretty good.
This soda had a lemon lime taste but with a little orange flavor in it. This soda tasted light and smooth. This soda tasted lightly sugary to me. This was kind of like Faygo's version of sprite or 7up without the aftertaste.
I would drink this again. But I want to review the diet version.
Got at Meijer.
I tried this with Zero sugar Fanta orange and it was pretty good.
This soda mixed tastes like a orange lemon lime soda and I think the Fanta zero sugar overpowered the arctic sun soda.
I will drink this again.
I tried this with Diet Mountain Dew and it was pretty good.
This soda mix tasted like those lemon lime popsicles that are usually light green or clear. This tasted sweet but not overly sweet to me.
I would drink this again.
I tried this with the Mountain Dew Summer Breeze Zero Sugar and it was pretty good.
This soda mixed tasted like a lemon lime with a light cherry lemonade taste to it. This tasted sweet but not overly sweet to me.
I would drink this again.
I mixed this with the New improved recipe Pepsi Zero Sugar and it was pretty good.
This soda tasted like a lightly tasting tamarind soda to me and the color reminds me of the soda too. This was sweet but not overly sweet to me.
I would drink this again.
I mixed this soda with Caffeine free Coke Zero Sugar and it was pretty good.
This tasted like a orange lemon lime coke which had a light fizz with smooth taste to it. This was sweet but not overly sweet to me.
I would drink this again.
