This is what you wanted. You wanted Doctor Mayhem.
So another animatic, huh? Who keeps putting these ideas into my head so I can keep churning it out every year, what's up with that-
But anyway, I got real smitten with the game Penny Larceny: Gig Economy Supervillain from @fictionfactorygames (that was rec'd to me by a friend) and also by Isaac Marquez because I love that kind of complex character story. So of course I decided to toss all that into the drain and made him insane, because you cannot tell me that All Eyes on Me does not fit an insane Isaac. He deserves it as a treat.
If you haven't played the game, I highly recommend it before spoiling yourself on this! It's on discount right now as of posting this, so go get it! I loved the art and the plot and the way a visual novel works to play into the lore, it's SO COOL.
(also if you want to scrub through the frames proper, it's on youtube as well with my artist commentary!)

And the award for Best 4th Wall Break goes to:
Penny Larceny: Gig Economy Supervillain!
I haven't even fully completed the game yet, but it's just so good. Like the premise that I'm not the player character but a voice in their head is implemented so well as a base, with great nods while breaking the 4th wall already. The finalé of the Overmistress' storyline is fun as well. But then the chapter of the story "Don't Copy that Floppy" is so fucking amazing if you've played through Arcade Spirits 1 & 2. I love it so much! Like I've had imerrsive games and visual novels where I feel like the PC, but making real-world me be a character in this fictional world is handled so greatly it's like surreal in a way. 10/10
And yeah I do wish the game as a whole had a little more persistent memory in what you've done in a way that affects the narrative system to give me the voice more influence and also ability to cut down on repetition, a system similar to Hades or more simply something like Undertale. So the game isn't perfect but there are moments in it that just feel so real.

Wanted to shoot you a quick game rec. Try Penny Larceny: Gig Economy Supervillain. It's a visual novel with a deep love for the superhero genre.
Plus it's got an interesting twist in that you the player are not actually playing as Penny but rather you have some kind of inter-dimensional bond with her and she turns to the player for advice/asks them what to do.
Also like anything with heroes lately, there's some multi-verse shenanigans but they tie into some replayability which is cool.
(I'd also recommend the dev's other series, Arcade Spirits. Those are more traditional VNs but still fun and there's actually some crossover with Penny Larceny)
Ooh thank you!

My animatic's out! Yippee! Wahoo! And as per usual, you guys get to see some of the frames that I used for the animatic. Only some.
It was actually really nice to just not do an intensive animatic, this time round. Even though it's still pretty effortful in some areas (like the rendering, and the perspective, and the animation I did at the end). But I'm happy with it!

Penny Larceny features a diverse cast of companions, villains, and heroes. Doing so from your cybernetically enhanced feline companion to mad scientists, and a computer designed to HATE. Whose stories and experiences will allow you to uncover the plots and schemes of the world's elite. This exciting announcement comes hot on the heels of Fiction Factory Games receiving a nomination. Doing so for "Game of the Year" at the Gayming Awards for their game Arcade Spirits: The New Challengers. Along with its LGBT friendly approach, Penny Larceny is also a satirical take on the gig economy and modern life. So players will need to use their wits and cunning to outsmart their rivals. Providing new experiences in different playthroughs.
Features:
A Gigaverse of Timelines: With multiple paths and endings in Penny Larceny. So that every playthrough is a new adventure. Will you save the world, or will you rule over it?

Pet a Cat and/or Destroy Capitalism: I mean, you'll probably do at least one of those things.
Penny Larceny: Gig Economy Supervillain comic book adventure game is coming later this year. Due to release on Linux, Mac, and Windows PC. So be sure to Wishlist the game on Steam.
