I have finished episode 19 of my Healer rewatch and wow has it been a fun ride. This is definitely a drama that rewards a second watch. There is a lot going on in the backstory and it was easier to pick up things knowing all the players from the beginning.

This drama was so meant for me - the complex slowly unfolding story, the large cast of interesting characters, the slow build of a relationship built on intrigue and then reality of who each person is. The way they fall for each other because they are smart and brave. The substantive nature of that connection even before knowing their shared past.

The identity porn! I freaking love the identity porn and the way Ji Chang Wook is playing so many characters and how when you get to see the real Jeong Hoo it's clear he's a little bit of Healer and a little bit of Bong Soo deep down.

The way Jeong Hoo is so touched starved he melts into Yeong Shin every chance he gets once they are a couple. And yes, they have a physical relationship - it's clear they have sex which is revolutionary for kdramas 10 years ago - but he also simply finds comfort in being close to her.

He likely had so very little physical contact in his last twenty years and he is soaking it up like someone who has no idea if it will last. I love this character so freaking much. He is a realist in so many ways, but so hopeful when it comes to Yeong Shin. A light shines in him when he is with her. He says at one point that basically she is what matters and he will do whatever it takes for her.

The devotion. *flips a table*

Anyway. I don't even remember how they wrap this up. I can't believe it's been 19 episodes honestly because I was pulled in from the first episode. Even if the wrap up isn't ideal, the fact that the first 19 were such a wonderful ride just reinforces my initial feels about this kdrama - simply put, it's one of the best. My top 5 for sure.

So I finally finished watching Healer and I can't believe I slept on it! Because it's actually so good?!! Like WHA!!!!! 😭😍😭

But then again, you can't blame me, considering it was aired in year 2015 👀 and I only started watching k-dramas from last year. So there's that too 🌝

I guess I kinda owe thanks to 'Marry my husband' and 'Welcome to Samdal-ri'. Because when I was looking up for new content to watch I saw Min young and Ji-chang names in the cast and was like 'Hey! I know them! I have seen their dramas recently!' So thank you MMH and WTS 🥹💛

As for Healer, yup you are right; I am going to watch it again 🙈 still not over the feels it give me in each and every episode, ranging from happiness to angst to fluffiness 😍🤩

I won't be lying but I was a bit disappointed with the way they ended the last episode. Too much stuff crammed in it and still some questions were left unanswered.

But oh well, such is life 🥲 you don't get everything ( I would have like them to see them get married)

There's now one more thing to do *cracking my wrists*; time to write fanfics of my new otp 🙈✊

Dramas I think you should watch pt. 2

Healer

1. Best kdrama. Hands down. Period. Everything about it from the plot, to the characters, to the pacing— incredible. If you haven’t watched it— please watch it. It's a mystery wrapped in a romcom with good action scenes to boot.

2. Cha Young-shin sings when she is down and saves sad people while also working (multitasker to the extreme), played by Park Min-young-- so completely gorgeous and has insane chemistry with her counterpart.

3. Seo Jung-ho has no friends or close family, can kick multiple asses at once, parkour enthusiast, sad lonely boy, and paid to be a problem.

4. Park Bong Soo the loveable goof who can't do anything right and is scared of everything, especially violence and is the alter-ego of Jung-ho.

5. Kim Mi Kyung. I love her and everything she does.

6. The soundtrack. All the action scenes where Jung-ho is fighting for or around Chae Young Shin did not have the standard epic action-y music like action scenes normally do. The music score was a love song and I loved every god damned second of it. Allllll my love, it's all yoursssssss. And there'll never be another one cause I'm eternally yourssssssss!!!!

7. The two dads. The most intimidating man wearing a floral apron and the short gangster who acts like Young-shin's mom.

8. There's murder, romance, hand-holding, violence, intrigue, origami, love songs put to action scenes, revenge, and a very nerdy-looking ji chang wook. Watch it. You won't regret it.
