I decided I wanted to try my hand at resucing a mini. I found this lot of Dark Imperium Plague Marines that were caked in...something. I've always loved the Dark Imperium sculpts so I had to pick them up. How could I not?
I have no clue what this model was painted with, but it was a pain in the ass to get off. It must have been some kind of enamel paint because acrylic paint comes off easily with my stripper. Either way I'm really happy with how it turned out in comparison to what it was prior. Once I made it passed whatever the blood effect was the armor coloring seemed to be almost like a darker blue Night Lords style color scheme. Whoever worked on it did a good job. I'm not really sure why they caked on all that blood effect. I wish I could have heard from the person who painted this squad to see what was going on in their head at the time. Maybe there was a plan that just didn't work out like they had thought it would. I know how they feel.
From the very first time I saw the incredible design of the Space Maid made by ChumiiCham, I wanted to paint one. Look at them, they are adorable :
Thanks to Solflamer that created a 3d model for them (available on Cult3d : https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/game/maidmarine) my dream came true.
It was both a really challenging mini to print correctly (mine still have defaults I patched up as well as I could with greenstuff. I'm a beginner both at 3d printing and greenstuff so that's not amazing) and to paint with a lot of shades of pink, but what a blast that was.
Anyway, here are all the other angle and the reference :
The absolute worst type of people in these fandoms are those who think the little plastic soldiers from the 80s were created to reinforce shitty political views of dipshits in the 2020s
"Humanity first but if you have fem space marines I will cry about it"
Not to mention almost none of these goobers actually paint, play, watch or read anything related to the hobby, and only found out what they wanted to know through overused memes on Facebook
Fuck outta here, let the rest of us paint and play with our little soldiers in peace
Here's a repost of this one Skit that went to some schola for mechanicus adepts for explosive/special weapons training once.
I instantly forgor that she had one meaty arm, sorry bruh it is what it is
So I've decided to put painting Mortarion off. I don't like the direction I'm going with the paint job that's on him currently. I know I've said before that I'm falling out of love a little with my current color scheme, but I'm still unsure what to change. I like my colors, but I think I need to do something different with them.
Anyway, I can currently play 1,000 Point Games now. Which is a big deal! I've actually made it to the point of being able to play a real game of 40k. I have about three matches set up so I need to get the remainder of my points painted. I have less time than I thought, but I think I should be able to get everything painted before the games. I would prefer playing with no unpainted models, hopefully I can actually do that. So for now we just stick with the current paint job.
