i think all my pairs of jeans are worn out and have ripped at the thighs what the hell. why can't they make clothes that will survive anymore? two of these i bought not much longer than a year ago, and the other pairs i lost i have been wearing for far longer now, but they also gave in. i refuse to hate having large thighs because they won't make clothes that can actually handle being worn longer than two micro seasons how many jeans do i keep mending :/

27 and (still) single

so I finish reading namaaz with my mom. and I go and change into comfier pjs. I put some bio oil on my face. I grab my notebook from the bottom drawer of my side dresser and my markers. I come downstairs. I put the kettle on to boil some water for my tea. I am wearing my comfiest red sweater. My hair pulled back into a loose messy low bun as always. I sit on the couch in the family room. I start writing a new page in my notebook. I start each page with the date and time. So today, March 17, 2024; 10:42pm. My water has finished boiling. I go to the kitchen and grab a tea cup, the one with the little yellow flowers on it. I get a tea bag from the tea drawer I organized weeks ago, but it’s already messy again. I put the tea bag in the cup and pour my water. I set the tea to steep. I go back to my seat in the family room. And continue writing as my tea begins to steep. I write Dear Allah, . And I start writing down my thoughts. I ask, I plan, I wonder, I write, I think, I worry, and I get a lump in my throat. So today, I am 27 and (still) single. I might be single for a very very long time or a very very short time after this passage of writing. Only Allah knows. And I have to be okay with that.

Every Eid Morning, my family while getting ready for Eid Namaaz will BLAAASSTT this song all throughout the house and my older sisters would always make it so hype for my brother and I. As they did most things growing up, our household was very very very rocky in my youth and they always put in an effort to distract my brother and I from it. So now it’s like a tradition in our family, and it genuinely does not feel like Eid Morning unless this song is playing!!!!!!!! Just hearing the song makes me smile like crazy and I wonder if my sisters will play it in their own homes this Eid for my nephews. I’ll be honest, since they moved out and we no longer get ready for Eid in the same home it hasn’t been the same. It desperately lacks my eldest sister’s shouts of telling us to go faster and her consoling my brother and I after we start crying from a fight and my older sister’s laughs at us and most importantly EVERYONE shouting at me for being a brat 😭 however I still play it nonetheless to reminisce of those days and to get myself in the Eid spirit!!!!!! Another Eid tradition from my family is eating sewaiyan every Eid morning <33 which is a desi dessert that my ammi makes only on Eid day and we will shovel that entire pot down our throats. Alhumdillah for it all. 😊 Driving to Eid Namaaz this year in my car alone and not with all 5 of us in my moms van is going to be a little depressing I will admit but alhumdillah!!!!! 💌
