O day, arise! The atoms are dancing.
Thanks to Him the universe is dancing.
The souls are dancing, overcome with ecstasy.
I'll whisper in your ear where their dance is taking them.
All the atoms in the air and in the desert know well, they seem insane.
Every single atom, happy or miserable,
Becomes enamoured of the sun, of which nothing can be said.
"Only those who are not in love see their own image."
"He who has faith will never get lost."
"Everyone uses his most precious gift to find his way."

"The filmmaker, through carefully planned shots and sequences, which are treated like paintings, and the poetry of his writing, pays an homage to the splendour of Arab culture."

Trama[modifica | modifica wikitesto]

Nacer Khémir : The storytellers still exist !
A long time ago, children used to be lulled by the wonders of fairy tales. These tales were created and told by strange creatures, half adult, half child, half man, half woman, half devil, half angel.... in short, everything that can be invented thanks to the immense power of the imagination.
Tumblr media
Fortunately, I’ve had the opportunity to be part of this last generation who, despite the absence of direct orality, could still enjoy the Lully told. The CD and the radio were the only vicarious tools for these creatures: the storytellers. And in Tunisia, the one who offered this pleasure for young and old was named: Nacer Khemir.
You may know him as a director, but before being one of the best directors that Tunisia has ever had, he was the best storyteller. Although you will tell me that both professions are related by parenthood! Nacer Khémir is one of these multifaceted creatures, with multiple professions: filmmaker, painter, calligrapher and writer, storyteller; he does everything as long as it makes you dream!
Tumblr media
Nacer Khemir has risen to the challenges of the evolution of the storytelling profession, and I think that few countries continue to have storytellers as talented and recognized as this one. He has seized the new media of his time to infuse his stories, but he has also continued to perpetuate the traditions of storytelling in the medinas. He is one of those extraordinary creators who mixes the new and the old, the modern and the ancient, for our greatest pleasure!
So if you have the opportunity, do not hesitate to listen to these stories that you can find on streaming platforms and at worst go and watch his films (on Mubi) which are great works!
