Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Karate Teams Selected After Al-Kabir Championship in Peshawar

karate teams have been selected to represent Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in upcoming competitions held in Lahore following the conclusion of Phase Two of the Al-Kabir All Pakistan Karate Club Championship in Peshawar.

The Championship, which took place at the Peshawar Sports Complex, saw participation from various academies across the province including Safi Warrior Martial Arts Academy, Friends Shotokan Karate Center, Kohat Division Team, Shaheen Academy of Martial Arts, and Young Fighter Shotokan Karate Academy.

After the competition, a selection committee chose four teams consisting of Chaudhry, Shiraz Awan, Muhammad Tahir, Muhammad Sharif, Habib Nazir, Mansoor Ahmed, Sheen Gul, Abdul Samad Jamal Khan, Kamran Ali, and Saif Ali.

The first team comprises Salman, Ibrahim, and Murad; the second team includes Haris, Abdullah, Asim, Shahzeb, Israr, Abrar, Atta-ul-Rehman, Ehtsham Parvez, Muhammad Saleem, Abdullah Jr., and Waris Habib. PCB announces match officials' panels

Following a comprehensive review and annual appraisal process, the Pakistan Cricket Board Thursday announced its panel of match officials for the 2020-21 domestic season, which will commence with the National T20 Cup from 30 September. The first round matches of the double-league competition will be held in Multan, while the second round will be played in Rawalpindi. The six-member PCB Elite Panel of Match Referees include Ali Naqvi (Lahore), Iftikhar Ahmed (Karachi), Muhammad Anees (Lahore), Muhammad Iqbal Sheikh (Hyderabad), Nadeem Arshad (Faisalabad) and Prof. Mohammad Javed Malik (Multan), while 14 members of the PCB Elite Panel of Umpires are Ahsan Raza (Lahore), Aftab Hussain Gillani (Bahawalpur), Asif Yaqoob (Islamabad), Faisal Khan Afridi (Sargodha), Ghaffar Kazmi (Lahore), Imran Javed (Karachi), Nasir Hussain Snr (Lahore), Qaiser Waheed (Lahore), Rashid Riaz Waqar (Lahore), Saqib Khan (Abbottabad), Shozab Raza (Lahore), Syed Imtiaz Iqbal (Karachi), Waleed Yaqub (Lahore) and Zameer Haider (Lahore). These 20 elite officials will be on 12-month retainer contracts and will be responsible for sharing officiating duties in the First XI Cricket Association and HBL Pakistan Super League matches. In the 2019-20 season, the PCB had offered contracts to 18 elite match officials. Mohammad Iqbal Sheikh and Nadeem Arshad, are the two additions in the match referees panel, while Aftab Hussain Gilani (promoted from the development panel), Imran Javed, Nasir Hussain Snr, Qaiser Waheed, Syed Imtiaz Iqbal, Waleed Yaqoob (promoted from the development panel) and Zameer Haider are the umpires who will be offered contracts for the first time. The PCB has introduced supplementary panel for the first time, which includes the match referees and umpires who were unable to find places in the elite panel. They will be offered season contracts, which includes match fees and daily allowances. This panel will be responsible for officiating in the Second XI Cricket Association matches and will set-up for First XI and HBL Pakistan Super League duties as and when required. The 72-member PCB Development Panel of Umpires has been equally divided into two groups, with the first group to officiate in the PCB-organised age-group matches and the second group to stand in club, grassroots and school fixtures. The playing control team in these matches will be led by the PCB Development Panel of Match Referees, which comprises 15 officials. The PCB Development Panel of Match Referees includes a female official, Saman Zulfiqar from Sheikhupura. This is the third successive year she has been named in the panel as the PCB continues to encourage its women officials to get involved with the game if they have any aspirations of representing the country at the international level. Similar process was followed and adopted while finalising women umpires for the 2020-21 domestic season, who will be offered season contracts. These women officials will be involved in officiating women's domestic matches, schedule of which will be shared in due course. The notable inclusion in the eight-member PCB Panel of Women Umpires is the addition of Sabahat Rasheed, who played 13 One-Day Internationals for Pakistan from 2005 to 2007. The 37-year-old from Lahore was a right-arm off break and is a graduate of Arts and Education. "This year's assessment and appraisal process was transparent and merit-based in which two independent former ICC match officials reviewed the performances of all the officials, while accessing their self-assessments and video decisions during the season (where available) as well as presentations, interviews, knowledge and understanding about the Laws, decision-making and man-management skills. Separately, the match officials also underwent fitness tests, which are mandatory and as per international standards. "This robust process was carried out to ensure the best match officials can officiate in the PCB-organised tournaments and through their good knowledge and understanding of the Laws and regulations, contribute in enhancing the standard and quality of the 2020-21 domestic cricket. "At the same time, we have provided a pathway to the supplementary and development panel umpires with the incentive being a place in the elite panel. I understand this is a challenging pathway but such is the role that only the best of the best can move up the ladder and this can only happen through determination, consistent performances, correct application of the Laws and regulations, and good match management." 56 Baloch abducted by Pakistan army in Balochistan and Sindh

Reports from Balochistan and Sindh confirm 56 Baloch abducted and forcible disappeared in a few days. The detailed report is as follows: On 28 October 2017, Nawaz Atta, the information secretary of Baloch Human Rights Organization (BHRO), a Balochistan based human rights group was abducted along with eight others from Karachi. The abductees include eight years old Aftab Younis, 17 years old Abid Ashraf, 17 years old Farhad Anwar, 18 years old Sajjad Yar Jan, Ulfat Altaf, Rawat Taj Muhammad, Muhammad Arif Muhammad Younis and Ilyas Faiz Muhammad. On 28 October 2017, security forces abducted six persons from Chitkan and Airport road Panjgur district Panjgur. Abductees are Murshid Muhammed Baksh resident of Chitkan Panjgur, Salim Khuda Bakhsh, Pir Bakhsh Issa, Khaliq Dad Mengal, Asad Jamal and Issa Raza, residents of Gichk Panjgur. Khan Muhammad was abducted by security forces from Faqir Colony district Gwadar and Khalil Faiz Mihammad was abducted from Teerandask area of Dasht district Kech on the same day. Waris Baloch On 27 October 2017, Waris Baloch, resident of Kohad Tump district Kech was abducted from Naval Colony Karachi. On 27 October 2017, Sadiq Misteri Khan Muhammad was abducted by security forces from Faqir Colony district Gwadar. On 27 October 2017, ten persons were abducted by security forces from Balgatar District Kech. While Wahag Baiyan and Zahid Gorich, residents of Shapkol Kolwah district Kech were abducted by the security forces in Askani Bazar Aapsar district kech. On 20 October 2017, seven persons were abducted by security forces from Kark-e-Dal, Gichk district Panjgur. Abductees are Khuda Bakhsh Arz Muhammad, Aslam Khuda Bakhsh, Issa Lashkaran, Mubarak Gul Muhammad, Muhammad Jan Dawood, Mazar Mir Khan and Hussain Mir Khan. Shah Nawaz Jalal Khan On 20 October 2017, two teenagers, Qadir Bakhsh Khair Muhammed and Shah Nawaz Jalal Khan, residents of Shuli District Dasht were abducted during a house to house search operation in Bilal Mosque area of district Gwadar. On 19 October 2017, Manzor Gulam Qadir was abducted by security forces in Balgatar district kech, when he was traveling from Kech to Panjgur. On 19 October 2017, a 70 years old man, Karim Bakhsh Jumma was abducted by security forces from Thank Shardoui Mashkay district Awaran. On 18 October 2017, Ghani Master Liaqat resident of Surag Damb bazar, Bal Negwar Dasht district Kech was abducted by security forces from Zero point Pasni district Gwadar and Yousuf Sarwar and Dad Shah Munir were abducted from during another military operation on same day. Javed Akhtar On 17 October 2017, security forces abducted Javed Akhtar, residents of Paroom District Panjgur from Malant, Tump district Kech during house to house search operation while the Frontier Corps abducted Arif Rasool Bakhsh from Bostan Pullabad Tump district Kech, during a same kind of military operation on the same day. On 16 October 2017, as per received reports from Jinnani Bazar in Gadduki-Koh area of Bal Negwar, Dasht district Kech, two teenagers, Saghir Hasil and Nadim Ali Akbar were abducted by security forces. Dr Omar Hassouna, who moved to Walsall, [England,] said he found out in a phone call from his brother on Tuesday [17 October]. His niece, her husband and their two-month-old baby "instantly died" after a wall fell on them when they were sleeping, he said. Dr Hassouna said his brother "just could not speak" and it was "very, very upsetting". "She was very close to me personally," he added. "I just cried today, so incredibly unbelievable." Dr Hassouna has lived in Walsall for more than 40 years but recently visited Gaza to see his family. He said the current situation was "very frightening" and his family were "not sure whether [they're] going to live tomorrow or not." "These people, they don't know where to go," he added.

Qazi Hussain Ahmed

Qazi Hussain Ahmed was third elected Ameer, Jamaat-e-Islami of Pakistan, after its fouder-Ameer Syed Abu ul Ala Maudoodi and his successor Mian Tufail Muhammad. He is the youngest amongst his ten siblings. His two elder brothers namely Dr. Attique-ul- Rehman and late Qazi Atta ur Rehman had been workers of Islami jamiat-e-Talaba(A sister orgainzation of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan). Qazi Hussain Ahmed followed the suit and started participating in the activities of jamiat. He studied Jamiat Literature and imbibed the spirit thereof, and then dedicated the rest of his life for the cause of Islam.

Earlier Education and Practical Life

Qazi Hussain Ahmed received his earlier education from his learned father at home, then having passed his graduation from Islamia College Peshawar. He earned his M.Sc in Geography from University of Peshawar, whereafter, he taught as Lecturer in Jahanzeb College Saidu Sharif for three years. Due to political activities, and his natural bend for the same he had to discontinue his service, so he resigned. Thereafter, he started his own business at Peshawar, there too, he made his name known and was elected as Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry NWFP.

Political Life

His introduction with Islami Jamiat Talba during his student life, whipped up his zeal to work in the vanguard of Islamic movement. Therefore, he acquired the membership of jamaat Islami and went on to head the Organization in Peshawar City, then District Peshawar and thereafter the President ship of the NWFP Chapter of the party fell to his lot.

In 1978 he was appointed as Secretary General of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, in 1987 he became Ameer-e-Jamaat (president of the Party), and since then has served as such, for four terms in a row.Qazi Hussain Ahmed was elected to the Senate of Pakistan in 1985, and again elected Senator in 1992, but this time in protest to the Government Policies, he resigned as senator.

It is worth mentioning that he won the election as a member of National Assembly from two constituencies in the general election held in the year 2002 .

UNITY OF UMMAH----- The first priority

Qazi Hussain Ahmed has always taken pride as a follower of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and therefore unity of the followers of the Prophet of Islam has always been his chief concern and to get this objective, he has striven hard to forge unity amongst various factions of Islamic Parities and that especially of the components of MMA Alliance (Muthida Majlas-e-Amal) was materialization of his dream. Due to his selflessness, he was unanimously elected President of the Alliance after the sad demise, of Maulana Shah Ahmed Noorani. Earlier, when the fire of hatred of dissent and division between Shias and Sunnies, was flame, he formed National solidarity council (Milli Yakjehti Council) which effectively extinguished the sectarian fire. Thereafter he was instrumental in the formation of IJI (Islami Jamhoori Ittehad) an alliance of right wing of political Parties.

When lingual bias in Karachi was enflamed Qazi Sahib led a procession of brotherhood love and peace (Karwan-e- Dawat-o- Muhabbat), all the way from Peshawar to Karachi and back which enkindled the candle of love throughout country in general, and peace was restored in Karachi, in particular. It may be recalled that he dauntlessly, led Tahrik-e-Nazam-e-Mustafa(Enforcement of Sharia) in the province of NWFP as its provincial chief and bore the brunt of imprisonment. His efforts to bring about unity among Ummah were not confined to the territories of Pakistan alone, rather, they were world wide in scope and nature.

When Mujahideen battling the then USSR, fell apart, Qazi Hussain Ahmed collected notables and leaders from around the Muslim world, to iron out the differences among various Afghan Mujahideen Groups, unfortunately, the enemy neutralized all such efforts. Again seeds of dissent were sown among Muslim Freedom Fighters in Kashmir; he again brought them together and dispelled the misgivings in time. When Doctor Hasan Turabi Founder Of Islamic Movement in Sudan, and General Umar Hasan Al Bashir the Head Of the State, stood estranged, both the parties referred the matter to the Qazi Sahib for arbitration which resulted in peace between the parties. But the International and regional conspiracies frustrated peace efforts, notwithstanding, he let not the differences turn into a clash.

Be it, Iraq, Kuwait or issue of Palestine, Qazi Hussain Ahmed was not less concerned. Plight of the Muslims in Bosnia ,Kosovo and Chechnia, agonized him beyond description, last but not least repression of the Muslims in Burma and Eriteria equally pained him, therefore he tried his best to find out a just solution to the aforementioned problems under the aegis of united forum Of Muslim Ummah.

Right after assuming the leadership of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, Qazi Hussain Ahmed paid special attention to the propagation of the manifesto of the Party by taking out countrywide processions, extending invitation to study the program of the party to the notables from every walk of life and in this connection, he formed various National Committees, a hectic membership campaign was launched throughout country , as a result thereof, over 4.5 million of people, espoused the cause of Jamaat-e-Islami.

Arrests and Imprisonments

Qazi Hussain Ahmed was arrested on many a occasion for his commitment to the cause of his party. He was first arrested during Tahrik-e-Nizam-e-Mustafa in 1977 again he was imprisoned when he took out a protest procession against American aggression in Afghanistan. Once more he protested over publication of blasphemous cartoons of the Prophet (PBUH) in Danish Paper, thus he was jailed during his detention, he penned down number of articles which were later published in a book form, which are eight in number.
