Início do depoimento.
ARQUIVISTA (DEPOIMENTO)
Ele me drogou. Ele obviamente me drogou, essa é a única explicação plausível.
Verdade seja dita, eu odiava meu trabalho.
Eu me virei pra encarar o Salesa e dei de ombros.
Estava escuro.
Parecia a luz do sol.
Nenhum deles respondeu.
Eu sabia que ia morrer ali, preso e sozinho. Fiquei me perguntando se algum dia me encontrariam.
O Salesa deve ter me drogado. É a única explicação racional.

Fim do depoimento.

Nairobi, Wichita, Budapeste, Xangai – a lista continua.
Gertrude Robinson estava tentando comprar Leitners.
Resumindo, o notebook me deu muitos motivos pra me preocupar e poucas evidências concretas.
Fim do complemento.

“Senator Meighen Discusses Riots in Penitentiaries,” Ottawa Journal. February 15, 1933. Page 4. ---- Denies Convicts Ill-Treated and Opposes Move to Have Judge Pass on Punishment ---- Riots at Portsmouth Penitentiary last Fall were more successful than on previous occasions because convicts of a peculiar type had been sent to the institution near Kingston. So stated Rt. Hon. Arthur Meighen, Government leader in the Senate, yesterday. These men, Senator Meighen declared, had great organizing ability and used that ability for conspiracy purposes, while keeping themselves in the background.
The mover of the resolution (Senator Lewis) on prison reform had the impression that the prisoners were ill-treated, Senator Meighen observed. This was not surprising if Senator Lewis gave credence to the reports emanating from convicts and ex-convicts.
Reform Should Be Aim. The sitting opened on the Lewis resolution ‘calling attention of the Government to the report of superintendent Ormond on the outbreak in the Portsmouth Penitentiary and that in the opinion of the Senate full publicity should be given to prison discipline, and that the aim of discipline should be reform as well as punishment.’
Opening his remarks, Senator Lewis declared: ‘Those who jeer at sentimentalism and the ‘coddling’ of prisoners, have not given serious thought to the subject. Intelligent prison reform aims not at amusement, or pleasure for the prisoner, but occupation for body and mind as a means of regeneration.
‘There should be abundant physical exercise in the open air, whether at work or play. A farm is the preferable environment for a prison, but where this is impossible and where sufficient outdoor work cannot be provided, outdoor farms should be regarded, not as intervals of relief from discipline, but as essential parts of discipline, aimed at reform.
Senator Cosgrain (Montreal), said he had visited Bordeaux jail and found the accommodation very good. He said it was much better than most of the prisoners had at home. He did not believe the prisons should be made a desirable place for people to reside.
Senator Griesbach (Edmonton) thought Senator Lewis should have informed himself of the Penitentiary Act, regulations and disciplinary methods before he had condemned the administration.
Senator Meighen Speaks Senator Meighen said he had visited penitentiaries frequently. The penitentiary was a Dominion institution. It was where the more violent class of criminals were confined. Provincial jails were for improvement rather than punishment. The penitentiary was to protect the public from the hardened criminal. He thought a penitentiary would be a peculiar institution if the guards were to be of the type recommended by Senator Lewis, who would have them of the missionary rather than of the police class. Under such guardianship, he said, no discipline could be maintained. If it were tried there would be more riots and convicts would soon be in charge.
Senator Meighen pointed out that he had been associated with the Department of Justice and particularly with the parole branch. He could not believe that any man would recommend that punishment in a penitentiary should be decided by a county judge. This would be a matter of judicial determination between the warden and the prisoner. This would be an impossible position and punishment or discipline would have to wait the visit of a judge and also would completely destroy the authority of the warden.

What does tier 4 mean for the property market?
England is now under four tiers of coronavirus restrictions, with London and parts of the south east having been placed in the highest tier by Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
The good news is that under the government’s new advice, the housing market remains open for business, whether you’re buying, selling, renting or letting.
Tier 4 – stay at home
Tier four replaces tier three as the very highest level of English restrictions and is reserved for areas in England where transmission rates of Covid-19 are rising rapidly.
People living in these areas are not allowed to meet anybody outside of their household or support bubble in an indoor or outdoor setting, apart from open public spaces such as parks and beaches, where one individual may meet one person from outside their bubble.
Tier four residents have been advised to stay at home and cannot leave or be outside of the place they are living unless they have a reasonable excuse.
The public are also advised not to travel in and out of these areas, other than for work, education, accessing youth services or caring responsibilities.
What does tier 4 mean for the property market?
The government has been clear that the property market is staying open even as restrictions are toughened, and during the latest national lockdown moving services continued but with Covid-secure measures in place.
Leaving your home to undertake activities associated with finding and securing a new home, or moving home, are considered exemptions to the advice to stay at home.
However, people outside your household or support bubble should not help with moving house unless absolutely necessary.
The government has called for flexibility among movers and sellers under these measures, should plans have to change due to any of the households involved contracting or being exposed to Covid-19.
Can I view properties in a tier 4 area?
Yes.
In-person viewings are still allowed under tier four. However, some estate agents, sellers and buyers may decide to postpone viewings while restrictions are in place.
That said, renewed lockdown measures may also heighten people’s desire to move if they are unhappy with their current accommodation.
Virtual viewings can continue to take place and are likely to be offered by estate agents in the first instance so that any in-person viewings are given to the most interested prospective buyers.
As in the lower tiers, Covid-secure measures should be firmly in place during in-person viewings.
Such measures include the wearing of face coverings, regular hand washing, keeping doors and windows open for good ventilation during the viewing, and only two prospective buyers from the same household entering the property at a time.
Sellers and the estate agent may choose to wait outside the property or decide not to be present while viewings are undertaken.
Open house viewings are not allowed under tier four or any of the lower tiers.
You can find out more about what to expect from socially distant viewings in this article.
If any member of either the household whose home is being viewed, or the household viewing, shows symptoms of Covid-19 or is self-isolating, then an in-person viewing should be delayed.
Are estate agents in tier 4 open?
Yes.
However, as with tiers one, two and three, the toughened tier system means people are being encouraged to work from home when possible.
This might mean some agents choose to work from home, continuing to work digitally and remaining open at branch-level by appointment only.
Can I move house under tier 4?
Yes.
Estate and lettings agents, removals, valuers and people in sales and lettings offices and show homes can to continue working under the tiered system.
Meeting with people outside your household or bubble “to facilitate moving home” is listed as one of the government’s exemptions from gatherings limits across all tiers.
The government advice is to follow the national guidance on moving home safely, which includes advice on social distancing and wearing a face covering.
Which English regions are in tier 4?

All 32 London boroughs plus City of London
South East

Berkshire (Bracknell Forest, Reading, Slough, Wokingham, Windsor and Maidenhead and West Berkshire)
Surrey (excluding Waverley)
Hastings and Rother

Moving Your Goods Versus Selling and Buying
Moving your personal goods, much less your family, can be a daunting thought, but after a careful review of all your options, you will see that it needs not be a difficult ordeal, just one that requires thought and organization. Hopefully, this post will help you arrive at the thought process.
I have done a big move of personal goods only three times, and I was boxed in (no pun intended) by the same thought process each time. I have come to discover that there are many ways to consider the move to Costa Rica, and some may be much cheaper or at the very least less stressful and requiring less coordination.
The first thing I learned about moving goods to Costa Rica is to find your mover in Costa Rica and coordinate the move through him, as you want to be able to deal with someone local from this end, just in case there should be any questions or problems. How logically simple is that? But had I not been advised, I would have called a mover from Dallas, and I think it would have caused more logistical problems in the long run.
Here are some of the mistakes I made. We brought everything, and I do mean everything. We should have had multiple garage sales prior to the move because we downsized from a 3,000 sq. ft. house to a 2,300 sq. ft house, and we had acquired junk from the previous 20+ years. We knew we wanted to build and no longer wanted a dining room, as we discovered it was wasted space in our last home just to store a dining room set. But we certainly brought everything else. George Carlin has a gig on "stuff", and everyone should listen to that before coming to Costa Rica. It took a little over a year for us to actually move into our house, which meant that we paid, by the square meter, to store our goods, which is an expense we had not considered. Had I had the opportunity to do it again, I would have brought our bedroom set, living room furniture, dishes/silverware, and that's it! Yes, special art pieces and personal belongings, but about half what we brought. That would have cut our moving and storage tab in half.
You can buy American appliances here, and yes, at a higher expense, but still less than moving and storing yours from home. Personal goods are not taxed, but goods that are new are subject to taxation. Many times they are not taxed if you have one of each, but if you bring 10 new flat screen TVs, chances are you will be taxed a very large amount. If you want to have no questions about taxation, Barry will develop a flat-rate move that includes your taxation. You needn't worry about this, as his company will handle all the details and dealings with Customs and deliver your goods to his storage facility or your new house.
I would suggest you get a 3-ring binder and keep all the papers related to moving in this notebook. If you pack goods yourself, label the box with the contents of each box and keep a copy of that in your notebook. If you have professional packers, make sure you get a listing of each box's contents, and that the box is labeled with the contents that you have a copy of in your 3-ring binder. All the paperwork related to Customs should be kept here also.
The following are some tips on what you should do before and after you move to Costa Rica:
Two Months before Moving:
1. Gather your moving supplies (boxes, tape, rope, etc.). Begin packing.2. Make any necessary travel arrangements (airline, hotel, and rental car reservations).3. Call a moving company or make truck rental reservations to move your goods.4. Cover your real estate temporary & permanent needs.5. Keep your legal, medical, and insurance records in a safe and accessible place.6. Give your new address to all your mailers (family members, friends, banks, insurance companies, and other financial institutions, charge card and credit card companies, doctors, dentists, and other service providers, state and federal tax authorities, and other government agencies).7. Keep your moving receipts (many moving expenses are tax deductible).
Two Weeks before Moving:
1. Notify gas, electric, water, cable, local telephone, and trash removal services of your move, and sign up for their services at your new address.2. Notify long distance Phone Company of your move.3. Arrange help for your moving-day.4. Confirm your travel reservation.5. If needed, make arrangements to close or transfer your bank account.
Packing Tips:
1. Make sure you have the following supplies and accessories: boxes (all sizes), bubble wrap or other cushioning material, marking pens, tape measure, furniture pads or old blankets, packing tape and scissors, and money and credit cards.2. Label each box with the room in the new home to which it should be moved.3. Make an itemized list of what you're packing with a yard-sale price on each item, so you don't have to pay too many taxes when your household arrives at the Costa Rican customs. Personal household goods are exempt.4. Number the boxes, and keep a list of what is in each box.5. Mark any fragile item.6. Pack your personal items (clothes, toiletries, medicine, maps, food, and drinks) into a bag, and keep it in an easy-to-find place.7. Keep a medical kit accessible.
After Your Move:
1. Locate police, fire, and gas stations as well as hospitals near your home.2. Locate shopping areas in your new neighborhood.3. Find out which day the trash is collected and whether your new community has recycling programs.4. Seek out new service providers (banks, cleaners, doctors, dentists, and veterinarians).5. Provide your new doctor and dentist with your medical history. You may need to request your file from your previous doctor and/or dentist.6. Find out more information about schools, cable service, cultural events, community activities, and the availability of emergency calling services (such as 911) in your new neighborhood.7. Transfer your insurance policies to an agent in your new community. If necessary, make a detailed list of all your belongings, their value, and your coverage.

Gerard Nolst Trenité - The Chaos (1922)
This poem is great for training your pronunciation if you’re not a native speaker of english and I love it. Dearest creature in creation Studying English pronunciation,   I will teach you in my verse   Sounds like corpse, corps, horse and worse.
I will keep you, Susy, busy, Make your head with heat grow dizzy;   Tear in eye, your dress you'll tear;   Queer, fair seer, hear my prayer.
Pray, console your loving poet, Make my coat look new, dear, sew it!   Just compare heart, hear and heard,   Dies and diet, lord and word.
Sword and sward, retain and Britain (Mind the latter how it's written).   Made has not the sound of bade,   Say-said, pay-paid, laid but plaid.
Now I surely will not plague you With such words as vague and ague,   But be careful how you speak,   Say: gush, bush, steak, streak, break, bleak ,
Previous, precious, fuchsia, via Recipe, pipe, studding-sail, choir;   Woven, oven, how and low,   Script, receipt, shoe, poem, toe.
Say, expecting fraud and trickery: Daughter, laughter and Terpsichore,   Branch, ranch, measles, topsails, aisles,   Missiles, similes, reviles.
Wholly, holly, signal, signing, Same, examining, but mining,   Scholar, vicar, and cigar,   Solar, mica, war and far.
From "desire": desirable-admirable from "admire", Lumber, plumber, bier, but brier,   Topsham, brougham, renown, but known,   Knowledge, done, lone, gone, none, tone,
One, anemone, Balmoral, Kitchen, lichen, laundry, laurel.   Gertrude, German, wind and wind,   Beau, kind, kindred, queue, mankind,
Tortoise, turquoise, chamois-leather, Reading, Reading, heathen, heather.   This phonetic labyrinth   Gives moss, gross, brook, brooch, ninth, plinth.
Have you ever yet endeavoured To pronounce revered and severed,   Demon, lemon, ghoul, foul, soul,   Peter, petrol and patrol?
Billet does not end like ballet; Bouquet, wallet, mallet, chalet.   Blood and flood are not like food,   Nor is mould like should and would.
Banquet is not nearly parquet, Which exactly rhymes with khaki.   Discount, viscount, load and broad,   Toward, to forward, to reward,
Ricocheted and crocheting, croquet? Right! Your pronunciation's OK.   Rounded, wounded, grieve and sieve,   Friend and fiend, alive and live.
Is your r correct in higher? Keats asserts it rhymes Thalia.   Hugh, but hug, and hood, but hoot,   Buoyant, minute, but minute.
Say abscission with precision, Now: position and transition;   Would it tally with my rhyme   If I mentioned paradigm?
Twopence, threepence, tease are easy, But cease, crease, grease and greasy?   Cornice, nice, valise, revise,   Rabies, but lullabies.
Of such puzzling words as nauseous, Rhyming well with cautious, tortious,   You'll envelop lists, I hope,   In a linen envelope.
Would you like some more? You'll have it! Affidavit, David, davit.   To abjure, to perjure. Sheik   Does not sound like Czech but ache.
Liberty, library, heave and heaven, Rachel, loch, moustache, eleven.   We say hallowed, but allowed,   People, leopard, towed but vowed.
Mark the difference, moreover, Between mover, plover, Dover.   Leeches, breeches, wise, precise,   Chalice, but police and lice,

Golf, wolf, countenance, lieutenants Hoist in lieu of flags left pennants.   Courier, courtier, tomb, bomb, comb,   Cow, but Cowper, some and home.
"Solder, soldier! Blood is thicker", Quoth he, "than liqueur or liquor",   Making, it is sad but true,   In bravado, much ado.
Stranger does not rhyme with anger, Neither does devour with clangour.   Pilot, pivot, gaunt, but aunt,   Font, front, wont, want, grand and grant.
Arsenic, specific, scenic, Relic, rhetoric, hygienic.   Gooseberry, goose, and close, but close,   Paradise, rise, rose, and dose.
Say inveigh, neigh, but inveigle, Make the latter rhyme with eagle.   Mind! Meandering but mean,   Valentine and magazine.
And I bet you, dear, a penny, You say mani-(fold) like many,   Which is wrong. Say rapier, pier,   Tier (one who ties), but tier.
Arch, archangel; pray, does erring Rhyme with herring or with stirring?   Prison, bison, treasure trove,   Treason, hover, cover, cove,
Perseverance, severance. Ribald Rhymes (but piebald doesn't) with nibbled.   Phaeton, paean, gnat, ghat, gnaw,   Lien, psychic, shone, bone, pshaw.
Don't be down, my own, but rough it, And distinguish buffet, buffet;   Brood, stood, roof, rook, school, wool, boon,   Worcester, Boleyn, to impugn.
Say in sounds correct and sterling Hearse, hear, hearken, year and yearling.   Evil, devil, mezzotint,   Mind the z! (A gentle hint.)
Now you need not pay attention To such sounds as I don't mention,   Sounds like pores, pause, pours and paws,   Rhyming with the pronoun yours;
Nor are proper names included, Though I often heard, as you did,   Funny rhymes to unicorn,   Yes, you know them, Vaughan and Strachan.
No, my maiden, coy and comely, I don't want to speak of Cholmondeley.   No. Yet Froude compared with proud   Is no better than McLeod.
But mind trivial and vial, Tripod, menial, denial,   Troll and trolley, realm and ream,   Schedule, mischief, schism, and scheme.
Argil, gill, Argyll, gill. Surely May be made to rhyme with Raleigh,   But you're not supposed to say   Piquet rhymes with sobriquet.
Had this invalid invalid Worthless documents? How pallid,   How uncouth he, couchant, looked,   When for Portsmouth I had booked!
Zeus, Thebes, Thales, Aphrodite, Paramour, enamoured, flighty,   Episodes, antipodes,   Acquiesce, and obsequies.
Please don't monkey with the geyser, Don't peel 'taters with my razor,   Rather say in accents pure:   Nature, stature and mature.
Pious, impious, limb, climb, glumly, Worsted, worsted, crumbly, dumbly,   Conquer, conquest, vase, phase, fan,   Wan, sedan and artisan.
The th will surely trouble you More than r, ch or w.   Say then these phonetic gems:   Thomas, thyme, Theresa, Thames.

Gerard Nolst Trenité - The Chaos (1922)

“Escape Effort Costly Affair For Prisoners,” Ottawa Journal. December 23, 1930. Page 13. ---- Five Inmates of Pembroke Jail Sent to Penitentiary ---- Special to The Journal. PEMBROKE, Ont., Dec. 22.  - Five prisoners, who were involved in an attempted break for freedom in the county jail here, on December 12, were this afternoon sentenced by Police Magistrate MacGregor to two years each at Portsmouth penitentiary, the terms to run concurrently with their previous sentences. Manacled together, the men showed no evidence of surprise as they heard the sentence pronounced.
The men, whose ages range from 18 to 23 years, are [TOP to BOTTOM] Oscar Moreau, Maurice Enright, James Sullivan and James Mustlak, of Renfrew, and Owen Gendron, of Arnprior, four of them sentenced to various terms at Burwash for different offences, while Mustlak was within 12 days of completing a sentence here.
Enright, who was brought here on December 10, had the longest term of any of five, two years less one day at Burwash for breaking and entering McArthur’s store in Renfrew. Charge Dropped The charge of complicity in the jail-breaking attempt against Sylvester Dupuis, Enright’s accomplice in the Renfrew theft, was dropped by the authorities, he apparently having taken no part in the affair.
The chief witness against the men was Turnkey T. Boland, who was first on the scene after the outbreak started. He told of the breaking of the locks on seven of the cell doors, and of all the windows in three of the jail corridors, as well as of finding afterwards broken boards in Mustlak’s cell and a small board under Enright’s bed.
Jailer William Brown corroborated the turnkey’s evidence, and told of having been warned by a prisoner, who was leaving the jail about December 1, that such a plot was under way.
Told of Plotting Sylvester Dupuis in giving evidence, told of the men plotting to ‘rush’ Turnkey Boland, as part of their plan to escape and that, failing to succeed in escaping, they had hoped that by doing all the damage they could in the jail they would be speedily transferred to Burwash.
The prisoners then gave evidence in their own behalf, all denying that they intended harming the turnkey, while they claimed they had no desire or intention to escape, hoping only to be transferred speedily to the prison farm. All claimed that Dupuis was in on the plot, and Moreau stated that Dupuis had said that he had ‘best a murder case’ from Detroit.
They also involved other prisoners as the instigators of the scheme, naming Jocko Commando, a Golden Lake Indian, serving a term here for stealing mink skins; Oscar Viallancourt, of Renfrew, in jail for breaking into Hazelton’s store at Killaloe, and another, named Jollicoeur, as the prime movers in the affair, though they had not taken part in the damaging of the jail.
Asks Penitentiary Term Crown Attorney H. S. Johnson, K.C., who prosecuted, asked for a penitentiary term for the five accused men and pointed to the boards taken from the cells as mute evidence of their intent to attack the jail officials had they entered the corridor.
Magistrate MacGregor, in pronouncing sentence, reminded the men that he could give them a maximum of 14 years and told them that in Kingston they would have no chance to repeat their performance. He remarked on the chances the law had given them before and warned them that, if after completing their penitentiary terms, they should again get into trouble, their records would be known and it would go hard with them.
The prisoners will be taken to Kingston tomorrow morning by Sheriff Alex Morris and Bailiff William Mills.
[AL: Moreau, also known as H. Miron and Victor Bertrand, was the oldest of the five men at 23, born in Gatineau in Quebec, and had already been in the Prince Albert Penitentiary as inmate #1463, and had also done two ‘bits’ at Burwash. He worked in the paint shop at Kingston Penitentiary and we was released in September 1932 but came back to Kingston in 1935 for another three year term. Enright had also been in Burwash before, was 18 at time of sentence, and was from Renfrew - he worked in the shoe shop was also released in September 1932. Sullivan was 21, born in Belfast, and had also been in Burwash before - he was released in September 1932. Mustlak, also known as MacKinnon or James Mushlake, was 22, was born in Winnipeg, was Indigenous, had only been in the Pembroke Jail for 30 days, worked in the stone shed at Kingston Penitentiary, and was released September 1932. Finally, Gundeon or Gumdon had been in the Fort William Industrial Farm twice before, in the Hull Jail twice, in the Mimico Industrial School once before. His brother was also at Kingston Penitentiary at the same time. A troublemaker, he was released in October 1932.]
