Despite the murder weapon being a hand canon and the victim being a man who looks like a brick house, everyone stalwartly believes a tiny 14-year-old child performed this crime without so much as an injury to his name. Apollo watches a man die and is haunted by his final words. Surprise Lamiroir is acrually blind and accused the penis hair shark man to be the actual killer!! He hated your guts from moment one for some reason well now you know it's because he was the villain here. Have fun watching Klavier get lit on fire again and again at least 7 times. The most convoluted and unsatisfying breakdown and way to acquit your client yet.

Well, whatever. Final cases are supposed to be the best!! This Mason system seems weird but surely it has to explain some things. Phoenix Wright is our main narrator and all. Apollo actually gets his shit together enough to understand something is weird about all of this but he's got no other choice than to charge into it all headfirst. Anyway really fucking annoying investigation time!! Have fun figuring out which very specific order in which to do these snapshots!! Apollo and Trucy are siblings??? Whaaaaat?? BLACK PSYCHELOCKS??? What does it mean??? Phoenix has fully taken over the case it is no longer Apollo's show.

Back to the trial, your client could die but more importantly, Kristoph is back, baby!!! We're never going to learn what those psychelocks meant, you have to first stare at the scar on his hand making a face lol. Misham said he never met his client but Vera obviously met Kristoph in person so Drew either left her in a room with a questionable adult alone or was straight up lying on the stand about that. I mean Zak had the evidence that could clear his name in his pocket the whole time and chose to fucking dip instead of clearing himself of a murder charge so like same hat, but I digress. Klavier is having a TIME, Apollo doesn't get to say a damn thing as we close on the court, and wheeee that's it that's the game!! You get to choose the Not Guilty verdict yourself don't you just feel so included???

I want to make it clear that I love this game dearly, but woof it is. Such a ride.

If the ask game is still open, AU where Bakugo gets dismissed as not being all that powerful by Todoroki and Yaoyorozu (because they're really far more OP than he is), causing him to stop bullying Izuku and challenge the recommendation students instead.

1- so Momo and Shoto place at the top of the quirk assessment ranking but Shoto only considers Momo a threat and Momo doesn't seem to consider anyone a threat, she isn't particularly scared by any of her classmates and she even thought Aizawa was bluffing, so she's not worried. Bakugo hears her tell Mina this when the girl asks Momo if Todoroki was serious about challenging her for the top spot at the end of class, or if he was flirting. (Momo figures its neither. It was indeed the former.) Bakugo inserts himself into the conversation and asks if she's worried about facing him. Momo is like ".... um, not really? We're all hero classmates." Todoroki adds: "And we all saw the ranking" so Bakugo has firmly forgotten Izuku.

2- Uraraka: That guy just totally blew you off? Should we say something?

Izuku: Absolutely not, this is better. Though, i hope Yaoyorozu and Todoroki are ok...

Uraraka: yeah i think they'll be fine. and if they're not, Aizawa will stop him again

3- With Bakugo so distracted by his two new oblivious rivals, he doesn't even question izuku having a quirk anymore, and never learns about ofa

4- Momo, on realizing at the SF that Bakugo is still serious about challenging her, begins to wonder what's up with that. But she does decide she's got to face bakugo head on, not just on a team with Todoroki, and is determined to make it to the match with him, beating out Tokoyami beforehand (she made a light grenade, and she was more confident because she was seen as a legitimate threat and also maybe thought about bombs because bakugo was yelling at her the whole time to win so he could beat her. she spends the time between their rounds trying to find and memorize a formula for a good extinguishing chemical.)

5- in contrast to Momo taking Bakugo seriously finally at the SF.... Todoroki does not. this infuriates Bakugo more, and he does actually reveal himself once hearing Todoroki ask Izuku if he was All Might's secret lovechild. Demands to know if thats the one reason Todoroki is taking Deku more seriously than him, because Bakugo sure as hell knows he's not All Might's bastard, having grown up with the kid. Todoroki is curious but when Bakugo makes it clear he will not be providing 'helpful' information to his 'enemy', Todoroki says he doesn't take Bakugo seriously because he reminds him of his father, and then grabs Izuku and leaves. Bakugo never quite hears the reason why that's such a bad thing, but he kinda figures there's baggage there, and also that if Todoroki is so dumb as to think Deku is somehow related to All Might, Bakugo really should focus on the real threat that is Momo, both for high ranking power but also intelligence and being class representative.

New game recc!! This time it's Figment!

Do you like Psychonauts? Or just the general idea of personifying pieces of your brain for easier comprehension? Then you'll like this one! It's a puzzle/action game about a surly hero relearning his drive for protecting his host!

The puzzles kinda kicked my ass more than the combat, so you know this game was a good one hahaha.

I really liked that it was kinda a musical! The three bosses all perform songs and their "fights" are actually just another puzzle!! I really liked that, that these manifestations of fears were defeated through outsmarting them instead of just brute force.

It's also really pretty!! And surly as he is, I really like the main protagonist, Dusty. Piper got a bit annoying to me, but she's fine in the end. Just a happy thought doing her best to rouse the Courage inside the brain.

The actual story is kinda weak, like you never really end up caring for the host, but it was a beautiful and fun challenge! Would hightly reccommend it, even for just the soundtrack. (it mostly reminded me of Astral Train from NitW specifically)

(also the sequel's set to come out soon, get the demo for that if you're on the fence about it. I personally am excited to see how far they've come.)

AU where Midoriya isn't able to convince Bakugou to work with him during the finals

1- Izuku tries. You can't say he doesn't try. But Bakugo would rather lose, and Izuku can't beat All Might right now. To win, he has to leave the exam.

2- he doesn't go directly for the door- All Might is expecting him to be reasonable and try. Instead he vanishes down a side alleyway, taking a post of the fence All Might threw at him.

All Might expects a sneak attack and stays prepared, covering his weak side, but by the time he realizes Izuku has snuck around and back, Izuku's too close to the exit and makes it just through in time.

3- Izuku passes the exam. He got through on time, he has to. It's just a matter of of Bakugo will or not. All Might, RG, and Aizawa discuss. Aizawa shrugs and says pass both, even if he prefers them to have worked together. All Might honestly doesn't feel good about Izuku running, it feels antithetical. RG frowns at both of them, and strongly disagrees. She's the one who watched the entire exam, and Izuku finally did what she told him he needed to do at the SF, and also tried to work with Bakugo, but he just refused to. All Might thinks about about the start of the year, how Izuku almost told him about OfA, and has to agree. The decide to pass Izuku, and fail Bakugo, and Aizawa prepared a set of noice cancelling headphones to deal with his reaction in class.

4- When the League attacks the camp, they know one of their targets is in the lounge, and warps in closer to there. Kouta is never near Muscular - until Izuku carries him there, as the students sent back to the lounge realize it's on fire. The remedial students inside all got out safely, but then had to fend off further attackers. It's utter chaos, with half the students focused on the lounge and slowly beating the villains back, and the other half slowly dropping to sleep in the woods after Ragdoll was taken.

In the aftermath, the villains forced to leave at Kurogiri's pickup, they don't take Bakugo. But they do take Tokoyami, snatched up by Compress in the woods.

5- some things do not change. Izuku is going to help the rescue team. This is not an exam. AfO will not leave Tokoyami alone if Izuku sneaks away. This is the villain Izuku has to face, and he will save his friend along the way. Some things do change. Aoyama, a dear friend taken, wavers more.

And Bakugo, pride twice burned because he failed his exam and he doesn't get why, because he and everyone else at the lounge heard that the League was after him mostly, a target, a victim, a failure - Bakugo goes to Izuku and says Izuku isn't running this time. He's going to help Bakugo beat the villains and get Tokoyami while Bakugo blows Tomura to smithereens. Which, Izuku was already going to go with the rescue team. But if Bakugo is going to start helping now, well, they'll take him for any extra fire power they can get.

3) What were your top five books of the year?

literally the 5 books in the Inheritance Cycle.. I started the series again because the 5th book was coming out (it has since come out and i LOVED it) and it made me remember why i loved the series in the first place + had me realize i did NOT understand alot of the story when i was younger!! felt incredibly nice to revisit and my favorite thing about this series is the relationship between Dragon and Rider.. :,)

4) Did you discover any new authors that you love this year?

.. this is going to be very strange bc I haven't actually read her work yet + she is an author I found on tiktok (im. very hesitant on taking recs from there and that will reflect in a later answer) --> her name is C.M. Alongi and I really like her current series she's doing on Tiktok that she's writing a book on rn - I really like the way she portrays her characters and her ability in weaving a story together .. idk if that makes sense lol

13) What were your least favorite books of the year?

it was called The Chocolate Kiss.. I actually really liked the beginning of it! The author did a super good job in setting a very magical, cozy scene, and I also really like the dynamic between the female lead and her aunts !! However the male lead was. Insufferable imo .. I mentally kinda checked out of the book when he uh. broke into the female lead's house . and like the book just kinda glosses over it? It was supposed to be romantic in some way maybe? It wasn't for me to say the least, i think part of why i dislike it is the disappointment bc I thought the premise was interesting and the beginning was promising

17) Did any books surprise you with how good they were?

Legends and Lattes! This is also a huge tiktok rec - I was wary of it at first bc of that.. I did buy a physical copy eventually but didn't read it for a long while. However, a close friend of mine read it and said she really liked it, so I finally gave it a try !! I ended up REALLY liking it - Tiktok is hit or miss (ALOT of Miss) but I am very intrigued by the "cozy fantasy" subgenre this falls into and hope to find more books that fall into it
