Disney+ Sets Date For Final Blue Sky Studios Project, Ice Age: Scrat Tales For April 13th

Disney has announced the release date of the final Blue Sky Studios project before the shutdown, Ice Age: Scrat Tales

This is a series of six all-new animated shorts starring Scrat, the hapless saber-toothed squirrel of the “Ice Age” adventures, who experiences the ups and downs of fatherhood, as he and the adorable, mischievous Baby Scrat, alternately bond with each other and battle for ownership of the highly treasured Acorn.

Featuring the vocal talents of Chris Wedges as Scrat and Kari Wahlgren as Baby Scrat, the series is produced by Anthony Nisi, with Robert L. Baird and Andrew Millstein serving as executive producers.

“Nuts About You”

Directed by Michael Berardini and Donnie Long. Story by Michael Berardini.

In “Nuts About You,” Scrat meets his son Baby Scrat and experiences the pure joy of being a new parent—until Baby Scrat sees The Acorn for the first time.

“LoFi Scrat Beats to Sleep/Chill to”

Directed by Donnie Long and Matt Munn. Story by Donnie Long.

In “LoFi Scrat Beats to Sleep/Chill to,” Scrat pounds out a percussive lullaby to get a crying Baby Scrat to fall asleep.

“X’s and Uh-O’s”

Directed by Donnie Long and Drew Winey. Story by James Young Jackson and Drew Winey.

In “X’s and Uh-O’s,” Scrat demonstrates for Baby Scrat how to plant The Acorn, but Scrat is really the one being taught a lesson.

“Nutty Reflections”

Directed by Donnie Long and Eric Prah. Story by Galen Tan Chu.

In “Nutty Reflections,” Scrat and Baby Scrat run after The Acorn into a dark cave, which resembles a creepy funhouse hall of mirrors.

“Teeter Toddler”

Directed by Jeff Gabor and Donnie Long. Story by Galen Tan Chu.

In “Teeter Toddler,” thanks to a dodo bird, Scrat and Baby Scrat end up on opposite sides of a log held up by a single branch.

“Nut The End”

Directed by Lisa Allen Keane and Donnie Long. Story by Michael Thurmeier.

In “Nut The End,” The Acorn goes flying off a cliff. With it seemingly gone forever, can Scrat and Baby Scrat live in harmony?

Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (2009)

Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs is a American computer-animated adventure comedy film produced by Blue Sky Studios and distributed by 20th Century Fox. It is the third installment in the Ice Age series and the sequel to Ice Age: The Meltdown (2006). It was directed by Carlos Saldanha and co-directed by Mike Thurmeier.

Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, Denis Leary reprise their roles from the first two films and Queen Latifah, Seann William Scott, and Josh Peck reprise their roles from The Meltdown, with Simon Pegg joining them in the role of a weasel named Buck. The story has Sid the Sloth being taken by a female Tyrannosaurus after stealing her eggs, leading the rest of the herd to rescue him in a tropical lost world inhabited by dinosaurs beneath the ice.

Ellie and Manny, the two woolly mammoths, are expecting their first child, and Manny struggles to make life perfect and safe for the family. At the same time, Diego the saber-toothed cat decides to leave the herd because he thinks he’s losing his edge and isn’t meant for the family life. Sid the ground sloth begins to wish for a family of his own and takes three apparently abandoned eggs that he finds in an icy cavern and calls them Egbert, Shelly, and Yoko. Manny tells him to put them back, but Sid ignores him and looks after the eggs, which hatch into baby Tyrannosaurus rex the next morning.

Although Sid tries his best to raise the three dinosaurs, their rambunctious behavior scares away all the younger animals and ruins a playground Manny built for his child, which angers Manny. Not long after, a female Tyrannosaurus rex, whose eggs Sid stole, returns and carries both Sid and her young underground, with Diego in pursuit.

Ice Age 4 Continental Drift PC Game was made on the same movie name. This game was produced by Blue Sky Studios. It was written by Jason Fuchs and Michael Berg, and directed by Steve Martino and Michael Thurmeier. This Game was made for Xbox4, Playstation, and Microsoft Windows.

Gameplay

Ellie and Manny are forced to handle the trials and tribulations of their teen daughter Smashers, who has trouble fitting in with her peers while Scrat unwittingly causes the break up of Pangaea. Ellie attempts to support her daughter, but Manny becomes extremely over protective. Meanwhile, before left them both Sid’s family returns, however only long enough to drop off the aged Granny. Soon after, a continental break up separates Manny from the herd. Trapped on a transferring chunk of ice with Sid, Granny, and Diego, Manny has no choice but to ride the current out. Meanwhile, Ellie, Peaches are encroached on by a giant land shift, and those remaining on land, causing them to make their way.

After violent weather pushes them further the group of Manny is captured with a band of pirates sailing on a floating iceberg directed with a Gigantopithecus, Captain Gutt, who tries to press them into his crew. When they refuse, Gutt attempts to do them, leading with their getaway, which inadvertently cause the food and ship supplies to sink. Gutt’s first mate, a female sabretooth named Shira, joins them after she’s left for dead.

Alice Through the Looking Glass

Cast: Mia Wasikowska, Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Sacha Baron Cohen, Rhys Ifans, Matt Lucas, Lindsay Duncan, Andrew Scott, Alan Rickman, Stephen Fry, Michael Sheen

Critical Consensus: I am not a fan of Tim Burton’s reimagining of Alice in Wonderland, but at least it had ambition and visual spectacle that passes of as cinematic that the sequel should follow up. But instead, it is a huge drop of quality. Granted that the visuals stayed consistent, but in terms of story, the focus on Johnny Depp’s Mad Hatter character is a fatal mistake. Even Mia Wasikowska’s Alice gives a non-presence to her own movie. The rest is a colorful puke stain, disguised as a $200 million disaster.

Grimsby

Director: Louis Leterrier

Cast: Sacha Baron Cohen, Mark Strong, Isla Fisher, Rebel Wilson, Penélope Cruz, Gabourey Sidibe, Annabelle Wallis, Ian McShane, David Harewood, John Thomson, Scott Adkins, Barkhad Abdi

Critical Consensus: Sacha Baron Cohen takes on the spoof of the spy genre, playing a football hooligan to estranged brother M-16 spy Sebastian, played by Mark Strong, and gets dragged along in his espionage pursuits. Cue bottom-of-the barrel jokes and lame characters that offer nothing. Even with its higher carnage and bigger stars, including Oscar nominees Barkhad Abdi, Gabourey Sidibe and winner Penelope Cruz, Grimsby is an unwatchable trite that ups its R-rated gush to the lowest of the forms.

Ice Age: Collision Course

Cast: Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, Denis Leary, Adam DeVine, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Jessie J, Nick Offerman, Keke Palmer, Seann William Scott, Josh Peck, Simon Pegg, Jennifer Lopez and Queen Latifah

Critical Consensus: After Continental Drift, Blue Sky Studios wanted to cash in more to their 16-year-old franchise to diminishing returns. Piling up more supporting characters (or stars to cash easy checks) to their mindless drivel and placing them in a preposterous plot, Collision Course makes it clear that Ice Age has run out of ideas. Despite the animation being topnotch and Simon Pegg as the crazy weasel is the only thing salvageable but that’s about it, the Ice Age series has just run off its course. No pun intended.
