Llagunes is a village in the Siarb Valley of the Catalan Pyrenees. This valley is also known as "terra roia" (red land) because of the colour of its rocks, which are also used to build the villages.

Recent excavations in medieval Kalmar have yielded invaluable insights into its historical fabric. The analysis of over 30,000 artifacts spanning from 1250 to 1650 offers a meticulous examination of daily life and societal structures.
Noteworthy discoveries include a 15th-century gold ring adorned with a Christ motif and an alsengem crystal amulet, shedding light on religious and secular practices of the time. Moreover, evidence of the Kalmar War of 1611 underscores the city's tumultuous past, with remnants of burnt farms, collapsed buildings and wartime relics serving as poignant reminders. Through scholarly inquiry, a deeper understanding of medieval Kalmar's complexity has emerged, largly due to the massive scale of these excavations.
