story behind this audio: i was on the tf2 wiki, clicking random page, as one does on a wiki, when i landed on the item called "texas half-pants." this item has a voice line at the top of its wiki page. there is a link that says "click to listen" to this audio clip, which i assumed would bring up an audio player or at least take me to a separate page to listen to the audio in my browser. instead, it automatically downloaded the sound clip to my computer. i was laughing at this, saying, "this is on my computer now, great," and i clicked on the file to open it, thinking it would play it in whatever media player i had set as default. it did play…but apparently my default music player was set to itunes. so it opened itunes, added the clip to my itunes library, played the clip, and THEN started playing the next song in the queue, which was coconut mall from mario kart wii. so this is what i experienced just now.

The Koopa Cape track in Mario Kart Wii has a dynamic musical score. It consists of three parts, the beginning, the river, and the underwater pipe, which each play their own arrangement of the music. Internally, this is done by playing several tracks at once and muting those belonging to the sections the player is not in.
For an unknown reason, one particular instrument, a synth melody, plays separately from the others despite not belonging to a specific part of the track. Instead, it plays in both the beginning and the river section, but is not embedded into either of them. It is possible that at some point during development, it was intended to play by itself somewhere on the track.
Above is the synth track in its isolated form, extracted from the files.

Left: in Mario Kart Wii, penguins on the N64 Sherbet Land track always have a neutral expression.
Right: however, an unused angry expression exists in the game's files, which is shown here by modifying the game's code. What it would have been intended for is unknown.

Fact: Item Boxes are used in tournaments seen in the Mario Kart series and other titles such as Mario Tennis.
In Toad's Factory from Mario Kart Wii, Brick Blocks are turned into Item Boxes with the use of a magical, rainbow-colored substance filled with small stars.
