GUYSSS!
So a while ago I said I wanted to make a collection of H2O merchandise for the mature audience/merch that is not automatically clockable as H2O themed. After dropping a Bella & the Band design, it was very well received and I started working on a few more things... So, today's the day!
This first drop contains 10 designs, available on t-shirts, hoodies, as stickers, magnets, hats, tote bags, and what not, including customisable colours. Welcome to the H2hoe: Just Add Merch! Collection.
The Life I Was Promised / H2hoe Water Bottle
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These first two are inspired by some of the posts and memes on my page. The minute I wrote that line with Cleo in the bath I found it hilarious, and it was indeed a very popular post. The water bottle design says "Stay hydrated, you h2hoe" with the H2hoe shoe logo on the bottle, for the keen eyed.
Mako Island Tours / Greetings from Mako Island
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These two were meant to be like, holiday souvenirs from your trip to the Gold Coast. One from a "business" of boat tours around Mako, while the other is more in postcard style.
Rikki's Café / JuiceNet
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These two were tricky to come up with, cause restaurants don't really have merchandise. I made a mock up receipt from each cafe (including some references in the listed items 👀). You're gonna confuse a lot of people bout why you're wearing a receipt on your shirts, but if they know, they know.
No Ordinary Girl Form / Full Moon Spell
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These were also semi-inspired by the memes on this page. The first one is a job application form, with some memorable lyrics :)
And of course, no one can hold you accountable for full moon fever, girlboss.
Bella & the Band #1 and #2
Tumblr media
These two were posted here before, so I'm just gonna quickly mention if you missed 'em. First one is a tour merch for whatever fictional tour apparently happened during the summer of 2011. The other design is more of a poster with all band members and song titles.
AND THERE YOU HAVE IT!
All designs, as well as some of my older ones (like the H2O and Mako Eras tour posters!) are available on my Redbubble collection page!
CLICK HERE TO CHECK EVERYTHING OUT
and plz plz plz repost, share, whatever this is called. I worked really hard on those and if they do well I'd do some more designs I have in mind (so many were planned ffs)

Could you write a fic of Zac Blakely from Mako Mermaids with a human boyfriend who studies marine biology?
Zac smiled as he watched his boyfriend, Y/N L/N, sitting down on his couch in the Bungalow reading a marine biology book. Ever since they were kids, Y/N has been obsessed with the ocean and all its wonderful creatures.
Y/N still hadn't learned Zac's secret about him being a merman. Zac was afraid that if he told Y/N the truth, he wouldn't want to be with him anymore. So, he kept it hidden from him even though it hurt him lying to him.
"Hey, you." Zac smiled and plopped himself down onto the couch with Y/N and kissed his lips. Y/N smiled at Zac. "Hey, yourself. What's got you so happy?"
"Nothing. I just like spending time with you." Zac said.
"Me too, but I'm pretty busy later on. I'm headed to Mako Island."
"Mako Island?" Zac looks surprised. "W-Why are you going to do over there?"
"Study the sea creatures there. I heard there's interesting things on that island." Y/N said.
"You can't." Zac said suddenly.
"Why not?" Y/N frowns.
"Because...Because..."
"Yes?"
"Because...I wanna go with you." Zac lied.
Y/N's eyes lit up with excitement. "Really? Cool. We leave in two hours."

I don't care how you guys feel about Charlotte, if there's one thing I'm glad S2 (in it's prime) explored - it was generational merfolk magic.
(Admitting Charlotte truther here) I find it fascinating exploring Mako Island and the generations of mermaids over the years for many reasons. Let's be honest, there's plenty of H2O fanfiction on Fanfiction.Net that tried exploring the H2O gang growing up and having powers to various degrees. Some focus on adulthood and drag it out while others get to the marriage and children phase a bit too quickly, but a few stand out just right (and by right, I mean "I could read this as if I'm watching it on TV"). But what I gather trying to read is Next Generation fics. Some writers opt to say the girls had normal children and don't tell them the Secret - which leads to history repeating and the daughters and/or sons finding their way onto Mako and going through the Metamorphosis. Others say the children are born with their powers, therefore automatically in on the Secret. And I think I recall a fic that ventured into the girls (or maybe just Cleo) becoming grandmothers themselves.
(FYI: It's a lot more telling how long ago a fanfic was written if the mermen in them have orangey-gold tails or any other colors pre-Mako Mermaids.)
Overall, I do appreciate those stories, but that doesn't diminish my preference for the past mermaids or what they could've/would've done if taking the present canon into account. I wanna explore how being mermaids in the 50s had worked out, if Gracie's choice was what split the group up, or if it was the tip of the iceberg. But mostly, I wanna know why Gracie was the only one to have a family and the implications of her ties to Mako after no longer being a mermaid. Did Gracie leave and never look back? Could Annette have been an 80s mermaid if she had returned? And regardless of how she came in, was Charlotte being drawn to Mako and becoming a mermaid really shocking?
Or what about Julia? The only reason we found out she died was because her locket sold at an estate sale and ended up at a jewelry shop. But did that have to necessarily mean she was alone or could it be implied she did have family and they sold her stuff without realizing the significance of the locket? What if someone did try to look for it and couldn't track it down? Maybe, if not directly a grandchild, but a grand-niece or nephew?
So in that hypothesis, out of the 4 known members of the 50s group, Gracie and Julia had more reasons to have had families in their lives while Louise (an elderly widow) and Max (a recluse hermit) didn't.
I understand we got used to the iconic OG girls, but there are too many holes and plots to be left unexplored.
((Before I end on this note, let me send this off that next-generation tropes don't necessarily have to apply to children and grandchildren. I'll fan the flame that Kim Sertori could have received the torch and become a mermaid. Cleo and co. were off the college and with the moon pool supposedly damaged, it wouldn't be like more mermaid hijinx could occur...that they'd be aware of. And what if Taryn Marler (Julia in S2 and Sophie in S3) had been brought on as a twenty-something woman who endured Metamorphosis, unlike the teenagers before her? Her character - Rachel Samuels from Blue Water High S2, free to watch on YouTube - had a much more preferable persona for H2O, so why not combine them into someone fleshed out? Instead of the main characters having children or having them help out the next random group of teenaged Merfolk - why not focus on a narrative of a mermaid's siblings finally stepping into her shoes and a woman entering her adult years as a mermaid?))

Mako Island except they're french now—
I actually did think about this au a little bit! While Marinette has the ability to manipulate water into shapes and things, Alya has the power to boil water and Kagami has the power to freeze water. They're not based off the original H2O girls themselves, but I thought the powers fit their vibes pretty well.
I imagine Marinette just wants to forget about all the mermaid stuff. It's stressful! Ya girl just wants to design clothes and help her parents bake! She doesn't want to have to worry about this big mermaid secret, or like the government coming after her, or people experimenting on her! That's a lot!
Kagami loves her new tail. Screw you Mom, I'm gonna go swim in the ocean and abandon my land life, except for the parts where I wanna spend time with my land friends. Of course living underwater indefinitely is... well, there's a lot to figure out and Kagami isn't sure she's down for that. But at least swimming is an easy get away!
Alya is obsessed with the way the mer stuff works. She does a lot of experimenting with her powers, testing the limits. After the first full moon, she also does a lot of limit testing for that too, trying to see what all she can still manage to do on the night of the full moon.
The first person to find out about their tails is definitely Nino, and Marinette freaks out about it and makes him swear to silence. Nino ends up using them to get cool underwater footage for him with his underwater camera, since they can dive longer than he can. He also helps Alya experiment with her powers and keeps notes for her. He keeps suggesting they bring more friends in on the secret but Marinette keeps panicking about it and Kagami insists no one can know about her secret escape from her mom's pressure.

Interesting little fact: 'Mako' means shark or shark-tooth in Māori, and as such, Mako Island is supposed to be a breeding ground for Mako sharks.
In reality, the shortfin mako shark is a real species that are common across all oceans aside from the polar ones.
So Mako Island translates literally to Shark Island.

The Evermore Grimoire: Islands
Mako Island is a mystical island located somewhere in the Pacific Ocean. Part of it was formed from the impact of a celestial object millions of years ago that helped create a magical Moon Pool buried deep on the island. A pod of mermaids discovered the island and decided to make it their home. They also made it their life’s mission to protect the magic it harnessed from the outside world. However a pod of mermen tried to take over Mako and initiated a war in order to achieve their purpose. They even created powerful Trident from the celestial rock that lined the walls of Moon Pool. They hoped the Trident’s power would be enough to kill any mermaid who appeared in their way. Armies of mermaids from the five oceans battled with them, however, they almost perished until one merman knew what they were doing was wrong, and betrayed his fellow mermen pod and switched sides. The mermaids won the war and the Trident was sealed away somewhere on Mako. Sadly as the years passed and human technology continually advanced, the mermaids struggled to keep the island and themselves a secret. In the end they decided to abandon Mako, leaving it’s magic unprotected.

Episode descriptions are under the cut.
The Aftermath
Tarrlok calls for Lin Beifong's resignation as chief of police, while Mako and Bolin move into the Sato mansion. While visiting them, Korra overhears implications that Hiroshi Sato is colluding with the Equalists and informs Chief Beifong and Tenzin, who find no evidence. An Equalist claiming to be disillusioned with the war reveals that Sato has a secret factory under his mansion, used to manufacture weapons for the Equalists. When Korra, Tenzin, and Beifong discover the secret factory, they are attacked by Equalists using large combat machines built by Sato, who reveals that the source was a trap. Beifong's metalbending officers are captured and taken to Amon, but Mako, Bolin, and Asami rescue Korra, Tenzin, and Beifong. Beifong decides to resign her post and rescue her officers, while Korra offers Mako, Bolin, and Asami sanctuary on Tenzin's Air Temple Island.
When Extremes Meet
At his inauguration as Beifong's replacement, Police Chief Saikhan vows to support Tarrlok's task force, leading Tenzin and Korra to quarrel with Tarrlok. Korra expresses frustration with her inability to airbend, and Tenzin tells her to obtain help from her past lives. Asami, Mako, Bolin, and Korra form a new "Team Avatar", patrolling the city and capturing Equalists, to Tarrlok's disapproval. Tarrlok places all non-benders under a curfew, and orders the arrest of a mob who refuses to disperse in obedience of the curfew. Korra tries to free the unarmed civilians, and Tarrlok arrests her friends to stop her. Later that night, she seeks Tarrlok out in private and he proposes to free her friends if she begins to fall in line with his wishes, but finding him to be corrupt, she angrily rebukes him and a bending battle ensues. Korra eventually gets the upper hand in the fight, only to have her fortunes reversed when Tarrlok reveals a dark secret: he is a bloodbender, able to manipulate human flesh through the water in the body. Tarrlok easily takes Korra captive using these skills and moves her to a cabin outside Republic City.
Out of the Past
Tarrlok locks Korra in a platinum box in the mountains, publicly claiming that Equalists abducted her. In response, Lin Beifong frees Korra's friends from prison and, with Tenzin's help, the five of them infiltrate the Equalist hideout, where Beifong frees her troops but an Equalist reveals that they had nothing to do with Korra's capture. Confronting Tarrlok in City Hall, a witness exposes Tarrlok's bloodbending powers, which Tarrlok uses to disable the group and escape. Meanwhile, Korra learns from Aang's past that 42 years prior, the mobster Yakone escaped trial by bloodbending the court, whereupon Aang removed his bending powers. Tarrlok confirms that he is Yakone's son, attempting to rule Republic City from a political seat rather than through crime. When Equalists track him back to Korra, his bloodbending proves ineffective against Amon, who takes away his bending. Korra escapes and reunites with Naga, who returns her to her friends.
Turning the Tides
After recovering from her abduction, Korra tells her story, and Tenzin asks Lin to protect his family while he attends the morning's council meeting. Tenzin is attacked at City Hall, and though he defeats his would-be abductors, he learns that the other council members have been captured by Equalists and that the city is under a full-scale attack by Equalists heavily armed with Sato's newest weaponry and military technology. Amon's airships bomb Republic City as Tenzin reaches police headquarters, where he wires the United Forces, the military of the United Republic, for help. Equalist 'mecha-tanks' capture Chief Saikhan and many officers. Korra and her friends rescue Tenzin. Tenzin's wife, Pemma gives birth to her fourth child, Rohan, as Equalist airships arrive at Air Temple Island. Lin Beifong, with the help of Tenzin's other three children, all airbenders, defeats the invaders. Korra goes into hiding and Tenzin flees with his family to preserve the last airbenders. Lin destroys an airship pursuing them, but is captured and refuses to reveal Korra's whereabouts, and is stripped of her bending. Korra's team enters the city sewers and General Iroh, the grandchild of former Firelord Zuko and commander of a fleet of United Forces warships, answers Republic City's plea.
Skeletons in the Closet
Korra and her friends hide in a camp underground until Iroh's fleet arrives; but the fleet is promptly disabled by Equalist mines, aircraft, and torpedoes. Korra saves Iroh from drowning, and they regroup with the others. Korra and Mako go in search of Amon, while Iroh, Bolin and Asami sabotage the Equalist airbase to prevent the sinking of a relief fleet under Commander Bumi, Tenzin's older brother. Korra and Mako discover Tarrlok captive in Air Temple Island, where he apologizes for his treatment of Korra and reveals that Amon is his brother, Noatak, who ran away due to Yakone's mistreatment of his children. Meanwhile, the assault on the Equalists' mountain airbase goes poorly when the attackers fall prey to an electric fence.
Endgame
Bolin, Asami, and Iroh are captured by Hiroshi Sato and the Equalists, but rescued by Naga. While Asami and Bolin fight Hiroshi and his mecha-tanks, Iroh destroys the Equalist bombers. Korra and Mako confront Amon at an Equalist rally, and expose him as a bender. Amon denies it and reveals that he has captured Tenzin and his young family. Korra and Mako free them, but Amon overpowers Mako and Korra, and removes Korra's bending abilities except for her airbending, which she later unlocks and uses against him. Expelled by her, Amon falls into the sea, and his escape unmasks him publicly as a waterbender. He flees Republic City, along with Tarrlok, who later explodes their boat and themselves. At the South Pole, Katara is unable to heal Korra's severance from water, earth, and fire. As Korra sits weeping at a cliff's edge, Aang's spirit fully restores her spiritual connection and bending abilities and Korra enters the Avatar State to restore Beifong's bending abilities. Everyone watches in awe and amazement with Tenzin addressing her as Avatar Korra.
