Vrimmek, the Meddled
I did write something back then for the setting I was building. Only that I don’t know where it is, but I remember key aspects of it: no humans, five gods, three suns, several beast races, dragons, merfolk, undead to the south... and then consolidated all of them while placing it in the Multiverse. I finally gave it a proper name. Not sure if it’s good enough but veryroughsummaryoffafewmillenniaoftheplaneshistoryincoming-
Humanity ruled on the plane of Vrimmek once. A sprawling civilization spanned across its lands, harnessing mana to power their myriad technologies. Then came a tipping point: infighting ensued, chaos spread, and they doomed themselves to extinction. No one who still lives today knew what exactly happened.
Primal forces soon took over. The Archdragons expected humanity's downfall, and bid their time until they can take back all of their peaks without effort. The deepsea Mer took the Seven Spires, one of humanity's most ambitious monuments, and made it the center of their realm. Numerous greatbeasts, once relegated and corralled to the continent of Gaen Tura, roamed the lands freely again.
However, Vrimmek is to undergo change throughout the following centuries, for better or for worse, through the actions of five planeswalkers of old.
A human planeswalker came to Vrimmek, saw the abandoned cities, and found no humans. They saw a lot of other creatures, however. Seeing a chance to experiment and test their theories, they started tinkering with some of the animals they found - lizards, birds, cats, goats, cattle - and see if the plane could be repopulated with other kinds of sentient life. Thus born were the other races of Vrimmek - the reptilian Liramo, the winged Furamo, the fierce Pozamo, and the stalwart Bovimo.
A second planeswalker came during a time when the new races have fully established themselves. Wanting to study the sun, they lived high above, creating spheres of pure mana to help in case something should go awry. A horrible accident happened, diminishing Vrimmek's sun, and plunging the world into a long winter. Feeling remorse, the planeswalker created three massive "suns" and a complex array of enchantments to amplify what was left of the world's natural sun. When all the work was done, they left, never to return.
A third planeswalker, a necromancer, laid waste to the southern continent of Drauka. Summoning all the undead, they waged war against everything else, forcing everyone else to ally against them. In the end the planeswalker was pushed back and upon finding the effort eventually unrewarding, left Vrimmek. What was left of their army was left in Drauka, now forever known as the Underlands.
A fourth planeswalker found Vrimmek and saw it as an escape from responsibility. Finding a remote island, they built a grand palace all to themself. They left Vrimmek eventually, and local explorers found their palace uninhabited. What was left however was knowledge of other worlds, and those that can travel across those worlds. Rumors spread, and every once in a long while stories about locals "disappearing" made more sense.
A fifth planeswalker trekked across Vrimmek. Both a scholar and a mage, the planeswalker gathered followers as they traveled around studying Vrimmek's magics. Ending up with what amounted to a hundred individuals, even including an archdragon, they crossed the sea to a large island off the coast of Gaen Tura and settled down. The City of Mages would rise here, an easily-recognized neutral ground, open to any looking for knowledge and enlightenment.
By now the knowledge of planeswalkers has spread far and wide across Vrimmek. Human planeswalkers in particular are easy to spot in crowds, seeing that no other humans exist in Vrimmek. Most settlements welcome them as emissaries from other worlds - that is, if they do not present an immediate threat. A few covert groups worship them as deities, even after the Mending. Much older folk treat them with suspicion and hostility, remembering how planeswalkers toyed with their home. Even in this era of relative peace, some suspect a sixth planeswalker will soon meddle with the plane, causing upheaval...
Several factions inhabit the world of Vrimmek:
The Bovimid Clans: A collection of several minotaur races that live in the largest continent, Vrigad. They were originally nomads who then settled on old human cities on the plains, reviving them and refitting them for their use. They became industrious artificers and, over time, highly-organized soldiers, eventually learning how to operate the mountain fortresses that kept the territory free from dragon incursions.
The Archdragons: Primal forces of the fiery earth. The longevity of the intelligent and fiery archdragons serve them well, with some even hailing back before humanity's golden age. They took on the Liramo, lizardfolk of Vrimmek, who now still live and serve under them. After undergoing  rite of passage, liramo are eventually gifted wings and fire by the archdragons to become true dragons.
The Deepsea Mer: Primal forces of the watery abyss. The merfolk of Vrimmek once lived deep underwater and were rarely seen near the surface until humanity disappeared. The truly old, colossal mer remain in the dark depths and move the ocean's currents, their existence spoken as myth. Those near the surface are younger and more curious, living near the coast to interact with the landwalkers.
The Roaming Suns: Products of an observation gone wrong. The Roaming Suns are three massive spheres of pure mana, surrounded by floating complexes and maintained by a network of enchantments manifesting as glyph chains. The angels that live near them are an enigma, appearing aloof to events on the surface until the suns are threatened. Down below, a few cults see these mysteries as objects of worship.
Claw and Wing: Two beast races tied together by a generations-old alliance. Centuries ago the birdlike furamo and the catlike pozamo realized they could accomplish more if they worked together. Always seen together on and outside the battlefield, harnessing greatbeasts with fury, wit, and agility - expect a force to be reckoned with when their interwoven sigils are seen.
The City of Mages: The shining legacy of an offworlder. The City of Mages is a neutral ground, having inhabitants hailing from different parts of Vrimmek. People come here for two things: to learn, or to teach. Many of the world's renowned scholars, mages, and artists trained here, going back to their homelands to impart what they have experienced.
The Underlands: A forbidden land cursed with a dark history. Ever since the undead war, it became common knowledge not to tread on Drauka, now known as the Underlands. A chunk of the necromancer's undead army still lingers, unable to rest, and they still roam the continent to this day. Rumors tell of the undead trying to remake what they once were, living as if alive, and even interacting with the brave souls who try to explore the continent - all without any hint of hostility...
