Note
I don't know if you ever got that tornado footage confirmation you were looking for, but if you look up Lincoln tornado April 27 or the Lincoln hashing on Twitter at the moment, you see many other videos of this storm from many angles that match the shape and movement of the one in the video. It's the best I could do other than just pointing back at the Twitter post the video was taken from.
Hope that helps you hunt down what you need.
Jesus. That's astonishing footage, then, and they are absolute maniacs for driving at it.

chapter seven: perseus & andromeda – part one
(masterlist) (part 1) (part 2) (part 3) (part 4) (part 5) (part 6)
hello beautiful people <3 here is chapter seven !!
synopsis: After deciding to let Abby live, Ellie has returned to Jackson. But given everything she's lost, it no longer feels like home. She's sad, she's confused, and above all else, she is so, so very lonely. So when a group of strangers shows up and offers her a second chance, she might just take them up on that. Ellie must decide between staying in Jackson – and living with the ghosts of her past – or leaving in search of new meaning. Whatever she decides, her choice will have far-reaching consequences – not just for herself, or for Jackson, but for all of humanity.
Or,
Ellie saves the world, maybe?
(ellie williams x reader, post-tlou2, useless lesbians, slow burn, cross country road trip, lots of references to greek mythology, etc.)
Andromeda: Princess of Greek myth, famous for her legendary beauty. Chained to a rock as sacrifice to the sea monster Cetus.
[Lucy]
Besides the occasional infected, the trip had been relatively quiet. But, as with all things in life, everything is quiet – until it isn’t.
As she watched the raindrops pelt the windshield, Lucy recalled lectures from the meteorology unit in science class. Her teacher’s voice rang in her head: The climate and geography of the midwest make it prone to thunderstorms, intense precipitation, and tornadoes.
Indeed, it did. Thick, heavy drops of water littered the front window faster than the windshield wipers could get rid of them. Bright, forked bolts of lightning split the  clouds and illuminated the otherwise darkened sky. Claps of thunder shook the inside of the truck so loud that Lucy could feel them reverberate in her teeth.
The truck crept its way down the highway, unable to go much faster than a crawl given the thick wall of water limiting visibility. To their left, periodic bolts of lightning backlit the skyline of a nearby city. Through the haze, Lucy could just barely make out the old green signs of the highway. Lincoln, ¼ Mile, they said.
“We’ll pull off and find shelter once we get past the city,” Jacobs yelled over the storm as he drove.
“Why not one of these buildings?” Lucy asked, gesturing down the off-ramp.
“We don’t know what’s down there. Should only be a few minutes. It’ll be safer further away,” Jacobs replied.
As if on cue, a loud pop! echoed from below the truck. It wasn’t thunder.
“Shit – ” Jacobs muttered as he tried to regain control over the swerving vehicle, until it gradually came to a halt. He groaned, then sighed.
“There’s a spare in the back,” he announced as he and Alvaro prepared to get out. “Stay put, this shouldn’t take long.”
They disappeared from view as soon as their doors were shut. Inside, the heavy rain continued to beat rhythmically on the roof.
Lucy sighed and sunk lower in her seat. “Great timing, huh?” she said, looking over at Ellie. Ellie didn’t reply, instead wringing her hands as she nervously watched outside. It was obvious she was on edge.
Lucy took note and said, “Hey, it’s just a flat tire. They know what they’re doing. It’s gonna be fine.”
Keeping her gaze out the window, Ellie heaved a deep sigh and said, “I know, I know, I just… I have a bad feeling about this.”
“What do you mean?” Lucy asked.
“Well, the cities can be really dangerous. There are some really bad groups out there, and sometimes they’ll come up with these schemes…” she trailed off, clearly remembering something unpleasant. She shook her head. “But yeah, no, I’m sure you’re right.” She turned to Lucy and forced a small smile. Lucy returned the gesture.
Then, the doors flung open, gloved hands reached inside, and all three passengers were ripped out of the truck.
The first thing she felt was the rain – so heavy and so cold. She had to squint to keep the water from dripping into her eyes. Within a matter of seconds, her hair and clothes were completely soaked through, chilling her to the bone.
She lost her footing as she was pulled from the truck, leaving her scrambling on all fours. Strong hands clenched around her wrists from behind, and she desperately tried to gain purchase on the ground as they dragged her away from the vehicle. When her captor came to a stop, Lucy was forced to her knees as the sharp, cold blade of a knife pressed against her throat. The blade was pressed so tightly to her skin that any sudden movement was sure to draw blood.
Out of the corner of her eye, Lucy could see her father in the same position as a second captor held a knife to his throat. The gloved hand holding the knife was attached to a tall figure wearing a dark, hooded cloak that obscured the rest of their body.
Through the watery haze in front of her, she could just make out Alvaro and Jacobs wrestling with two more hooded figures near the back of the truck. Lucy frantically looked around for their fifth member, but Ellie had been pulled to the other side of the vehicle and was nowhere to be seen.
“Ellie!” Lucy yelled, desperate to be heard over the downpour. She thought she heard a voice yell from beyond the truck, but it was impossible to be sure over the storm.
“Shut up,” a gruff voice from behind her said as the blade pressed deeper into her neck.
Without further outburst, Lucy watched Alvaro and Jacobs as they tussled with their opponents. The strangers were quick and nimble, deftly avoiding the officers’ advances. But the officers were built like oxen, so when they finally landed a punch the hooded figures crumpled to the ground in a heap of fabric.
With their opponents knocked out, the officers stopped to gauge their surroundings. Over here! Help! Lucy wanted to scream, but the knife at her throat kept her quiet. She had no way of knowing what had happened to Ellie, but she thought at least one of the officers would come to her and her father’s aid. She was instantly relieved when they looked in her direction. Yes, yes, we’re over here! She could have sworn she even locked eyes with one of them.
Needless to say, her stomach dropped when both officers disappeared behind the other side of the truck. She kneeled tensely as the cold rain poured down her back, listening for any sign of life.
Next to her, the figure holding her father shifted their weight. “Hey, what’s going on over there?” they yelled. No response.
“Hey, man,” they said to the person holding Lucy. “We should get out of here while we still can.”
“We can’t just leave them out here!” Lucy’s captor replied.
“C’mon, they could be dead already for all we know! You saw what those guys did to the others.”
Her captor considered for a moment. “Fine, let’s go,” they said, as they removed the knife from Lucy’s neck. “Blessed be the light.”
Lucy didn’t have time to question the statement before the hilt of the knife collided with her temple and everything went black.
------------------------------
Lucy was still in her wet clothes when she woke, and immediately she started shivering. Wrists shackled above her, she sat leaning against the cold, hard wall of what looked like an old conference room. She brought her knees to her chest in a futile attempt to hold onto whatever warmth she could.
The blow from the knife left a throbbing pain in her head and blurred her vision. She had to squint in the harsh fluorescent light. Blearily, she watched as someone wearing a dark hooded cloak entered from the hallway carrying a tray. The figure approached and knelt in front of her, offering a glass of water.
Lucy turned her head in refusal, too weak to say anything more than “Nnn…”
“Please, it will help with the pain,” a gentle girl’s voice emanated from under the hood. “I promise.”
Lucy tried to make out the details of the girl’s face. The lights were too harsh and the hood’s shadow too dark, but Lucy could tell the girl was quite young – maybe 14, if that. She looked sincere, and Lucy reluctantly sipped from the glass as the girl held it to her lips. Lucy accepted apple slices too, glad to have something in her stomach.
The girl looked behind her as if to check if anyone was there. In a hushed voice, she said, “When he comes in, don’t fight him. He’s nicer if he thinks you like him.” Three sharp knocks came from the door, signaling her time was up as she turned to go. “The sedative should help with the pain, too,” she whispered as she hurried away.
Lucy realized what the girl meant just as her eyelids grew heavy and she was pulled back into unconsciousness.
------------------------------
As the drugs wore off, Lucy groggily opened her eyes to find a man seated in a chair in front of her. Unlike the others, this man wore a crisp, pristine suit and tie, face clearly visible. He was clean shaven, and his long, gray hair was carefully styled so as to leave no stray hair out of place. When he smiled at her, she noticed his teeth were a harsh, abnormal white.
“Hello, darling. Welcome back.” He flashed that awful smile at her again. She was still having trouble forming words, so he kept talking. “My men tell me they saved you on the highway out there. Nasty weather, huh? Lucky we were there to help.”
Lucy furrowed her brows, trying to make sense of what he was saying. She knew she was probably nursing a concussion, and forming coherent thoughts proved to be an arduous task. “That’s… that’s not… what happened…” she managed.
“Mmm… must have been a nasty tumble you took,” he said, cocking his head. “Head injuries are no joke, you know.”
“I didn’t… f-fall…” she stammered as she glared at him.
“Ah, my sweet. Perhaps your memory will come back in time.” He raised his eyebrows and made a gesture of surprise with his hands. “Oh! How silly of me, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Keane. I run things here in the city. I’m looking forward to showing you around, once you’ve healed a bit.” He leaned forward and used his hand to caress her knee. Lucy tried to pull away, but there was only so far she could go with her back against the wall. “I think you’ll be very useful here.” He flashed another smile, and being almost face to face with it made her stomach turn. She spat in his face.
Immediately, his demeanor changed. The smile disappeared, his eyebrows lowered, and a cold, cruel look crept into his eyes. He calmly wiped the spit off of his face and leaned back.
“I see you’re not quite healed enough yet. Maybe next time I see you, you’ll remember how lucky you are to be here. Blessed be the light, sister.” He stood up and walked out of the room without saying another word. As he left, a large hooded figure entered, gloved hands wielding a thick baton. Lucy cowered against the wall as the figure swiftly crossed the room, coming directly for her. With one deft strike to the head, everything went black.
------------------------------
“Lucy? Lucy, hey, are you there?” a voice called, sounding far away. Hands gripped her shoulders and shook her back into semi-consciousness. In her half-aware state, Lucy saw the dark hood on the figure in front of her and struggled weakly to get away.
“N-no… get off of m-me…” she mumbled as she curled herself as far away from the figure as she could in her delirious state.
“Hey, hey, look at me.” The voice was soft. The figure removed their hood and gripped her face. Strong, calloused hands gently turned her face so Lucy was forced to look at the person in front of her. As Lucy’s vision focused, she found herself looking into a familiar pair of green eyes.
“Hey, it’s me. It’s okay. You’re okay.” Ellie talked as she unlocked the shackles above Lucy’s head. “I’m gonna get you out of here. Can you walk?” Lucy nodded weakly, but as Ellie helped her stand up, she almost collapsed.
“Woah, woah, okay. That’s okay. Just hold on, alright?” Ellie wrapped one arm around Lucy’s back and the other under her knees as she picked her up. With whatever strength she could muster, Lucy wrapped her arms tightly around Ellie’s neck. She tucked her face into Ellie’s chest to block out the harsh light that made her head throb.
Lucy was conscious enough to keep herself upright, but otherwise everything passed in a blur. She registered doors opening, strange voices, the sensation of being set down and picked back up again. Occasionally, Ellie would mumble something like, “Hey, stay with me, okay?” or, “Almost out, just a little further.”
Eventually, everything faded to quiet. Lucy felt herself being laid on the ground, head propped up on something soft and solid. She managed to open her eyes, and was met not with the harsh fluorescence of before, but with soft morning light peeking through a leafy canopy. Above her, she watched as Ellie smiled softly down at her. Lucy’s head was in Ellie’s lap, and Ellie gently brushed stringy pieces of hair out of her face.
“Hey, you’re okay. I’ve got you,” Ellie said. “We’re safe, for now. You can rest if you need to.”
Grateful for the invitation, Lucy didn’t fight it this time as she slipped back into unconsciousness.

So, I experienced the mighty power of a tornado, kinda. The power was out for 3 days, and I was essentially doing crafts by candlelight (and flashlight). My grandmother kept calling me Abraham Lincoln lol.
Worst part was that I couldn't write cause my laptop died T-T

Motorcity Headcanons: Cities/the outside
- Cleveland is in ruins the only people that live there are the nomadic groups that occasionally set up camp.
- New York City is domed but is considered a collection of towns/gang territories rather than a city. Only out of towners call it NYC, most people on the inside call it New Townships.
- Texas has five domed cities: Fort Worth, Austin, Dallas, Houston, and Weatherford. Unlike New Detroit and most other cities, the living and office work spaces are located underground to keep people safe from tornado/hail damage. The recreational spaces and factories are topside and people evacuate whenever a tornado shows up.
- The Texas cities are in regular contact with each other and with most out of state cities. Kane however refuses contact.
- Alaska has underground cities and towns, domes tend to crack from the extreme cold.
- D.C. is in Ruins and is considered cursed. People are especially terrified of the Abe Lincoln statue.
- some small towns and villages have makeshift domes, especially in areas where there was a lot of science/military related jobs. They work surprisingly well.
- where people live outside of the domes depends on how irradiated an area is.
- Most people outside the domes (called outsiders or outlanders) are nomadic and herd livestock. The most common livestock is tied between domesticated deer and goats.
- There are permanent settlements in the areas with the least amount of radiation. They grow mushrooms on logs and keep animals.
- life expectancy outside the domes is 60 years for women and 40 for men. The most common cause of death is cancer followed closely by getting got by mutants.
- They communicate with each other through HAM radios, telegrams, Morse code, bagpipes, and drums.

hello i am visiting chicago for the first time in march and have no clue what to do do you have suggestions …
YES !!!
feel free to PM me with specifics if u want (neighborhood you're staying in, dietary restrictions, interests) so i can make better recs but here are some general must dos
Attractions:
The Art Institute of Chicago is beautiful, huge, and world class and so you will not see everything but they have an app-guided tour that will take you around to some of the most famous works in their collection
The Museum of Science and Industry is a childhood fave but the interactive exhibits still hold up tbh. You can look at anatomical slices of real human bodies and simulate a tornado!
The Shedd Aquarium is amazing but pretty $$ ($40!!) so would recommend if you're super interested but maybe save your money if it doesnt seem worth it to you.
Millenium Park is a must see--weather is kinda touch and go in March but if you get a warm/sunny day I recommend renting a Divvy bike and checking out the Lakefront Trail (side note: Lake Michigan is way bigger than u think it is)
Navy Pier is largely a tourist trap and nothing special I would skip it LOL 1
The Architecture Tours are also amazing and worth it !! Plus the views from the river are unmatched.
Neighborhoods to check out/Food to eat:
(I'm assuming you're staying in the loop but if not I can give you more suggestions based on where you're staying/what's accessible via transit)
Wicker Park/Logan Square
Cool bookstores, record stores, thrifting, good breakfast/brunch, coffee shops up the wazoo. Easily accessible via the blue line (more on transit later), one of my favorite meals ever is the Chicken Fried Chicken from Dove's Luncheonette.
Chinatown
The Chinese American Museum is pretty interesting if you're into history, but the biggest draw of Chinatown is the food. Chiu Quon Bakery has delicious pork buns and egg tarts that are ridiculously affordable, Hing Kee's soup dumplings are top tier. Go4Food is another local favorite and I recommend Happy Lamb if you're looking for hot pot.
Lincoln Park
Lincoln Park Zoo is free!! Check out the lily ponds and the Lincoln Park Conservatory. The coffee and baked goods at Verzenay are a little $$ but totally worth it.
Andersonville:
My biggest pet peeve is when people tell queer tourists to go to Boystown just cuz they have the gay bars and rainbow sidewalks. Andersonville doesn't have as many lesbians as it used to, but the vibes are a lot more inclusive and it feels way less yuppie gay white guy in my humble lesbian opinion. Lots of cute boutiques and good food. Kopi Cafe is unique and has really great vegetarian/pescatarian sandwiches and snacks. Not too far from Little Vietnam either, get a big bowl of pho or a banh mi at Pho 888.
Getting around:
I will wax poetic about the CTA, but it can definitely be intimidating if you're not familiar with it! You can get the Ventra app on your phone and tap it at the turnstiles/on buses --any chip card will work too. The best bang for your buck is to get a 3-day pass or a 5-day pass depending on how long you'll be here, because those give you unlimited rides and you'll probably be doing a lot of running around. The L (for elevated trains) is generally faster than the buses and are named by color (e.g. the red line, blue line, green line etc). Buses are numbered and sometimes have letters too. Google Maps' transit directions are usually solid but estimated arrival times are more accurate on the Ventra app itself.

It said that Lincoln proper avoids tornados because it sits in a "bowl", a valley, or is protected by a big ridge to the west. It seems to be true since those that hit areas are on the edge of town and in the county. In 1993 - There was weak tornado the cut a path northwest of Lincoln from the airport to near 27th & Superior Streets. 2016 - Two EF-1 tornados hit far southeast Lincoln and caused minor damage. Most damage was from hail. 2017 - A short lived tornado hit UNL East Campus in open land and caused no damage. 2019 - The C&L Dairy Sweet, near Pioneers Park, was hit by small, short lived EF-2 tornado. People watched it from the windows of Lee's Restaurant. Since 1953 Lancaster County has been hit in 1957, 1964, 1981, 1984, 1993, 1997, 1998, 2004, 2009, 2014, 2017, 2019.

Part 1 of me single handedly trying to grow the Miracle Workers fandom because I love the show.
Segment 1: Out of context quotes (Season 1)
1. Eliza - “Theres no way we can answer all of those [prayers].
Craig - I generally try and shoot for three, four a day. Although, now that I’ve got you, a teammate, theres no telling what we can do. I’m thinking 5…6…maybe as many as 6!”
2. Eliza - “There’s got to be something we can do .
Craig - I mean you can press F7.
Eliza - Does that stop typhoons?
Craig - No but it turns the sound off.”
3. Craig - “And does the debris ever dance?
Person - What?
Craig - Say the debris had lost an object, and then that object were found for it, would the debris be like *insert Craig dancing slightly*”
4. God - “But if you fail…
Eliza - Earth explodes.
God - Yeah but also…you have to eat a worm. Alive. The whole thing. The head and the butt. In front of everyone.”
5. God - “So we could explode his heart, or his lungs, *under his breath* or his penis.
Sanjay - Explode his penis?
God - Woah now that’s an idea!”
6. Abe Lincoln - “Out of my way black cat I’m late for my fun play!”
7. Craig - “Oh, no. No. Im not scared.
Eliza - You’re not?
Craig - No. I’m a bold, intrepid man with a strong mind. I’m a risk taker. I’m a big, bad…boy?”
8. Man 1 - “Oh shit my melon.
Man 2 - There goes our fruit salad.”
9. Craig - “If the world explodes then you will go down as history’s greatest murderer. Nobody wants that.”
10. Person - “This isn’t the department of anuses. We have integrity.”
11. Craig - “Thank you, and this pizza gentleman is gonna live, right?
Eliza- We are back on track.”
12. Eliza - “That necklace…why? I mean who wears bones to a massacre. I mean ugh I thought I was so hip.”
13. Sanjay - “We just watched you eat mud out of a bog.
Craig - Yeah that was clean mud.”
14. Person - “Why is the tornado staying in one place! This is impossible!”
15. [God scatting]
16. Craig - “It would make me really sad if God couldn’t read.”
17. Eliza - “Did he just turn that guy into a jellybean?!”
18. Eliza - “I am objectively bad at my job. I have accidentally killed a ton of people and I’m the leader of this group.
Sanjay - It’s true.
Craig - She leads us.”
19. Craig - “Yes! She saved us! Nooo, I have it away! He knows.”
20. Sanjay - “Okay, okay, new pitch. Uh, how about a romantic carriage ride?
Craig - Nope. Sam’s afraid of horses. Doesn’t like their eyes.
Sanjay - All right, then, uh, what about an eyeless horse? We get some crows, right?
Craig - Wait, where are you getting crows from?
Sanjay - It’s Earth. Anywhere. We get them to swoop down and peck the eyes out of the horse.
Craig - No, crows only peck out of dead things, though. So unless you’re going to get a dead horse-
Sanjay - Then I’ll get a dead horse!”
21. Eliza - “You’d go for it, right?
Craig - Well, no, not necessarily. Not if I was unsure about how she felt about me, or was scared to death if losing her as a friend, and also pretty frightened of her in general.
Eliza - What?
Craig - What?”
22. God’s Brother - “Explain cows.
God - I don’t want to do this anymore.
God’s Brother - Tell mom and dad what a cow is.
God - It’s like a big dog you can drink from.”
23. Gods Brother - “Tell then about giraffes. What’s a giraffe.
God - Tall dog with a leg for a neck.”

@loveislarryislove
through the snow and through the storm
QR/R1 | Rated T | The 100 | Murphy x Raven | 3.2k
“Everyone is so concerned about this storm,” Raven says. “It’s calling for what, three or four inches of snow? Back home in Minnesota, that’s not even enough to close schools.” Murphy snorts. “Well, hon, welcome to Georgia,” he says. “This may be a shock to you, but we don’t get as much snow as Minnesota.” “Yeah, I’ve noticed,” she says, chuckling. “It’s kind of boring, honestly.” “Being locked up in your house for months because the outside world is trying to freeze your face off sounds boring.” “That’s what scarves are for, John.”
i just want to know you better
R2 | Rated T | The 100 | Lincoln x Octavia | 2.5k
The upstairs is both simple – just a bed, night table, and wardrobe, with a small shower and washbasin in the corner – and remarkable – all the furniture is growing out of the walls and floor! The showerhead is a living flower! Octavia’s widened eyes suddenly narrow as another question pops into her head. “There’s no toilet,” she says. “Do faeries, like. Do you not poop?” As soon as the words have left her mouth, she wishes she could take them back. That was a bit much, even if it is a perfectly reasonable question, it’s not really an attractive one. But Lincoln just tips his head back and laughs. Octavia realizes she’s not sure if she’s ever seen him laugh before – not for her or for anyone else. He’s sweet, and she’s certainly earned enough of his smiles, but his laugh… it makes her stomach flip, and suddenly she doesn’t regret the stupid question at all. Or, Octavia has already captured Lincoln's heart -- but can she capture his cat's?
@bellamysgriffin
i say that i hate you with a smile on my face
QR/R1 | Rated G | The 100 | Murphy x Raven | 2.8k
There's a tornado raging over his head and his father's bakery right in the crossfire, but all Murphy is worried about is what he's going to tell Raven about his date the night before.
we did our best (and we will again)
R2 | Rated G | The 100 | Lincoln x Octavia | 2.3k
“If you want to help me, you can start by letting me go.” Lincoln sighs, dropping the spoon. “And then?” Her blue eyes flash. Then the anger fades. “You’re right. If you let me go, I’ll kill you. That’s the way it has to end. For one of us, at least.” Lincoln lifts the spoon to her mouth. After a moment, reluctantly, she drinks. They do this in silence until the soup is gone. He can see in her eyes that she’s ashamed, that she feels weak, powerless. So he gives her an offering, the only one he can think of. “My name,” he says, “is Lincoln.” She looks at him, and is he dreaming or is there a ghost of a smile in her eyes? “I’m Octavia.” or, linctavia au in which everything is (mostly) the same except lincoln has a dragon and octavia wants to kill it

(Cause This Can't Be) The Way the Story Ends
QR/R1 | Rated T | The 100 | Murphy x Raven | 5.8k
A bummed-out business owner, a disgruntled barista, a stressed student, a mysterious stranger, and a mechanic on a mission are trapped in a bakery during an ice storm. Or, how John Murphy found the girl, lost the girl, experienced a natural disaster with the girl, and then found her again.
The Fairy Ring
R2 | Rated T | The 100 | Lincoln & Anya | 5.5k
For as long as he can remember, Lincoln has been fascinated by the fairy ring in the woods beyond his village. For as long as he's known her, Anya has mocked his interest in the ring.
@sailawaymayday
When It's Over
QR/R1 | Rated T | The 100 | Murphy x Emori x Raven | 5.7k
Murphy is prepared for a perfectly normal day of work in his bakery. What he gets instead is an earthquake.
Beware The Wild Rushes
R2 | Rated M | The 100 | Lincoln & Luna | 5.9k
Lincoln knew there was a reason he never liked the ocean. Now he and Luna are trapped in a world that shouldn't exist, with a new pet that definitely shouldn't exist. Everything is totally fine. Maybe. Sort of. Yeah, it's pretty much the weirdest day he's ever had.
