Bought as "Tiger Babies", which should be more on the cream side but these looks like regular tiger lilies. Still nice but not what I was going for but anyone who's into gardening knows that this happen and you just buy some more until you get it right.

Lilium lancifolium syn. L. tigrinum (tiger lily, lance-leafed lily, var: "Splendens")
Tiger lilies always like to 'dress to impress' 'and this clump at the entrance of a local golf course is putting on quite a show. This cultivar "Splendens" has been bred for heavy flowering and can produce up to twenty-five blooms a season from a single stalk! If you plant three of them, the bulbs will reproduce sideways and you'll have a show garden full of tiger lilies in about ten years time.
The scientific name of the tiger lily used to be Lilium tigrinum, which makes sense because tigris is Latin for tiger. However it was later discovered that an earlier botanist had named this species Lilium lancifolium from the Latin lancea ("lance") + folium ("leaf"). In the hothouse world of botanical taxonomy. precedence matters, and (seriously) naming rights can make or break a botanist's career. Not that these beautiful tiger lilies, basking in the afternoon sunshine, really give a hoot about what botanists call them.

A member of the Liliaceae (lily) family native to Central Asia. The bulb of this flower 浙貝母 (zhè bèi mǔ) is used in Traditional Chinese Medicine to relieve coughs and reduce phlegm, among other indications.

A member of the Rosaceae (rose) family native to China. Known as ko-demari (小手毬) in Japanese as its clusters of small flowers look like the patterns on temari, children's handball toys that are also symbols of great loyalty and friendship.

A member of the Liliaceae (lily) family native to China, Japan, Korea, and the Russian Far East. The species name, lancifolium, refers to its leaves looking like polearms (i.e. lances). Its showy black-spotted orange flowers have made it a popular ornamental plant.

African milkweed (Gomphocarpus fruticosus) flower [x]

A member of the Apocynaceae (dogbane) family. Native to eastern and southern Africa, the plant is also found in Australia and New Zealand, where it is known as narrow-leaved cotton bush. Its thorny fruit pops when mature in late fall, producing cotton-like seeds.

鬼[Oni] : Ogre, demon
百合[Yuri] : Lily
It is said to be named because the flower is reminiscent of an 赤鬼[Akaoni](Red ogre.)
It is the only Japanese lily that produces propagules. 小鬼百合[Kooniyuri](Lilium leichtlinii f. pseudotigrinum,) a species similar to this, does not have them. 小 means small.

oh yk i was thinking… if i were to classify skz as flowers right… it would be
chan: gladiolus
literally means “little sword” which… idk it fits so well! he’s tiny but packs a punch jddjdjsk and also the flowers symbolise strength of character, faithfulness, moral integrity and remembrance. all very… chan-like traits
minho: lavender
i always associate him with lavender for some reason. they represent purity, silence, devotion, grace and calmness. it’s just… a very minho vibe. he’s just so calming and he’s very devoted to the things and causes he cares about. and ofc he moves like a gazelle.
changbin: tiger lillies (specifically lilium lancifolium)
changbin just always gives me tiger vibes. soft and cuddly but very very powerful and can go from cute to intimidating and majestic in seconds jdhsjjdjs i also associate him with the colour orange bc he’s just… so vibrant. and also spits fire on stage hahahahah
hyunjin: daffodils
kind of because of that poem daffodils by william wordsworth. he talks about how daffodils are happy flowers that always bounce around and dance in the wind. and cheer you up. and idk that… that imagery reminds me of hyunjin’s smile haha. he’s got a very bubbly vibe to himself. daffodils are also said to symbolise creativity, resilience and new beginnings, and hyunjin’s all of those things plus he’s always getting new opportunities to shine.
jisung: forget-me-nots
they just feel so very jisung. the story behind why they’re called what they are is so bittersweet and romantic, it just… pulls at your heartstrings. much like han jisung’s songs. his music is the embodiment of the sentiment of love and remembrance and comfort-in-a-bad-situation that makes up the symbolism of forget-me-nots.
felix: gerbera daisy
i’d say sunflower but i think the delicate-ness of daisies really fits him. they’re bright, they’re happy, they’re usually yellow (and technically more sun-like since the sun’s light is actually white, not yellow dhhdkdjd). they symbolise purity and innocence (not in a naive way but in a… pure hearted wants the best for everyone kind of way)
seungmin: iris
they represent faith, hope, courage, wisdom, and admiration. and i feel like that encapsulates the kind of friend seungmin is. he always seems so emotionally intelligent and in-tune with everyone’s needs despite being a jokester.
jeongin: purple clematis
they symbolise royalty, so ofc that’s what maknae on top deserves jdhsjsjsks no but also, they symbolise mental strength. the flower itself has the ability to climb up and around obstacles, twisting and spreading to reach magnificent heights and yk innie is always overcoming little obstacle himself (and with the help of his members) and he’s come so far. reminds me of when chan said he was a “blank canvas” that shaped into a beautiful painting.
