The last post on here after i left for my hiatus was not me, fyi. I deleted it a few mjnutes ago. I am still extremely upset, so why return? Because i still believe in something connecting us that is far greater than either, or both, of our current belief, will, mindset, etc...but, I am hurt and confused. I spent a lot of time WISHING that it was over, or a delusion from the beginning, or had run its course, or was something from which i could simply opt out. It's not. I'm fine with that. I am not going to agree to just bow down to every single request your lifestyle will demand....and if i end up with someone else, i am not leaving them due to you one day changing your mind. But, i am open minded enough to discuss anythibg, and am far less conservative than you liely realize. If not for the fact that YOU are completely inflexible, i'm sure we could swing something (no pun intended) or that i could, at least, be allowed in the presence of THE love of my life. I am not with anyone else....until i am....let's continue to hope for a miracle (sad that the "miracle" in this case is simply you being reasonable.lol

Liesandra After the War
WARNING! This story contains contains domestic abuse, alcoholism, slavery, and sexual themes. If this triggers you in any way, please don’t read.
Liesandra scoured the abandoned farm's fields. There were hardly any crops left, weeds taking over the soil and their thorns poking into her hardened bare feet. It had been too long since she last ate, so long that she had forgotten what food tasted like. It didn't matter if it was maggot ridden old portage or bread that was more mold than grain. She was starving, and the others wouldn't share their food, and so, the small girl scavenged.
With the sun's hot rays on her back, and the scent of bloody decay all around, she found some corn lying on the ground besides it's stock.
In a swift motion, the head of corn was in the calloused and dirty hands of the girl. Looking around, she tried to find more to no such luck.
With the rumble of her stomach, the small child took off, hopping over the corpses of her former comrades to get to her master's new home. Her footsteps echoed on the empty streets as Liesandra scurried past the looming buildings until she got to the mostly intact mansion and made her way for the servants entrance.
When she reached the kitchen she began to soak the corn in water and start a fire. When the flames were ready, she placed the movable grill over it and place the corn upon it. After some time, the corn was ready.
After letting it cool for not nearly enough time, the girl tore off the husk and sunk her teeth into the golden grain. Juice dribbled down her scarred cheeks and dripped off her chin. It was delicious.
With her belly full, the young Liesandra sat back to catch her breath. Only now did she realize that she had burnt her tongue and mouth by eating before the food had cooled down.
After a while, there was a tug on the tip of her pointed ears as the hoop earring was being pulled. Her master was summoning her to his chambers. She quickly got up from the dirty floors and dusted off her ragged dress before running out of the kitchen and up the stairs to his room. The longer she took the harder her ears were tugged, to the point where she thought her ears would bleed and the rings bould be tugged out of her skin.
When she arrived at the door, she gave it a gentle knock. “Here I am, Master.”
“Get your puny self in here!” A gruff voice slurred at an unbearably loud volume.
With the creak of the large door, the small girl entered the room. It was dark; ragged curtains covering the open windows and balcony. The scent of booze and herb over ran the girl’s senses as the sunburnt and ash laiden carpet crunched beneath her feet.
Liesandra looked at the bed that was covered in a mess of silken blankets and pillows carelessly thrown about. Upon it was a manor sixteen with messy blonde hair, striking red eyes, and robes lazily wrapped around his large and muscular frame. The empty bottle of liquor looking like a toy in his hand.
“What took you so long, Lielie?” He spat. The man was drunk. That much was clear from his flushed cheeks and ears. “And where’s my drink?”
“I-I was in the kitchen cleaning, a-and we’re all out.” She answered. He didn’t need to know of her meal, and was planning on cleaning up after herself so it wan’t a total lie.
“All out?” He growled, “What do you mean that we’re ‘all out’?”
She shrunk in her place by the door. “T-the last bottle is in your hand,” herr voice quivered no matter how hard she tried to stop it.
The master let out a tisk, “ I bet that you drank it all, didn’t you? I’m sure you did, filthy mud blood,” the blonde spat at the end.
Liesandra spoke up, “I didn’t-“
CRACK!
The next thing she knew, Liesandra was knocked to the floor, blood started to drip from her head and down her face, landing in her lap. The darkly stained glass from the former bottle of wine lay broken all around her.
The master of the house dropped his hand after throwing his fragile ammunition.
Lifting his hand, he moved it in a way that the rings on his pinky and thumb could be on display. He got off the bed and walked over to the edge of the glass mess. The blonde pulled his ringed hand up, forcing the earrings on the girl to pull her up. He grabbed a fist-full of the girl’s hair and lifted her over a foot in the hair so she was forced into eye contact with his crimson eyes.
“Did I tell you that you could speak?” He asked through drifted teeth; his hot and fruity breath hitting her in the face.
Throwing her hands over his in pain, she tried to heave her head. “No, sir,” she answered in a horse whisper.
After a short silence, he threw her down into the broken glass.
“Clean this up, then get me some more,” The red eyed brute muttered, going back to his bed to lie down.
The girl pushed herself up with a groan and began to remove the large pieces of glass from her flesh. After that she picked up the glass and cleaned up the mess. She carried the broken pieces out in her dress, receiving a “And make sure it’s strong,” from the man on the bed.
When she reached the kitchen, Liesandra threw out the garbage and began to clean herself. Her wounds didn’t feel deep, but you can never know for sure. She got a bucket of hot water, a sponge, and some soap that she had made the week prior. She planned on tearing apart some old rags that were too worn to use as anything but a bandage.
She pealed off her dress and began to wash the cuts. She winced when the warm water leaked out of the sponge and over her cuts. Taking the bar of soap, the child rubbed it with wet hands until she got enough suds so she could clean her wounds. Once that was finished, Liesandra took the sponge and rinsed out her sudsy cuts and gashes, the more she did so, the more and more blue the water got with her blood.
It was still something that she had not gotten over. Only up until eight months ago her blood was red. Red as anyone else’s. She didn’t understand at the time why the others had bothered to keep her alive. But now, she knew why, they needed a slave. They weren't used to manual labor and couldn't handle their anger nonviolently, to be bluntly. This however, did not change Lielie’s treatment. They even made sure that her blood would be the color of mud.
With her wounds ready for bandaging, the strips of cloth tore several times as it was tightly wound around her thin frame. Liesandra pulled her dress back on and dumped the bloody water onto some of the blood sucking bushes.
Liesandra began to slowly walk away from the mansion, limping and wincing with every step. She knew that it wouldn’t be long until she was fully healed, but that didn’t stop the desire to have the pain removed. Not to mention, the cuts and gashes on her sides would take at least a day to heal.
The other survivors would be back soon. She had to find some alcohol and get back to the manor to make them supper in just half an hour. That wasn’t nearly enough time. Her master had already raided the area and left it dry.
Luckily, she knew a spot. She went to an old boutique and ran to the back, past the workstations and mutilated bodies of the seamstresses. She pushed a bookshelf aside and revealed a shriveled up pannel. Reaching into her apron pocket and pulling out a screwdriver. She didn’t know what kind it was, just that it was in the shape of a cross on the pointed end.
She unscrewed the pannel and set it aside before crawling into the dark room. Hitting a switch, a single dim light turned on, revealing a small and cramped space filled with bottles of liquor and valuable fabric. This is where the business would store the spare fabrics and acted as a makeshift safe. Not to mention, great staff were alcoholics. Good people, but addicted to their drink.
Not that Liesandra minded. They did hide her in the safe when bombs were being thrown. It made her realize that there are people who don’t care about your class, weather you are a princess or a slave.
She grabbed a few bottles and sealed up the safe. The slave girl ran back to the mansion and set the bottles down down on a table with as clank. She then pulled out ingredients for her master and his friends’ dinner. With what she had on hand, it would be best to make some bread and soup.
Liesandra pulled out a giant pot and filled it with water. She set a fire and placed the pot upon it. She then walked back out to the garden to grab some of the tomatoes and herbs. She washed them off and began to cut up the fruit. She threw the produce in the pot when the water started to bubble.
While that was cooking, the slave girl began to make some bread. She threw some flour, salt, yeast, and baking powder into a bowl before stirring them all up. She them mixed up some eggs, butter, and milk from the cooler until she got dough. The small girl got a crate to stand on and climbed on it and cleaned the counter before sprinkling some flour on the surface and began to kneed the dough for a good ten minutes. When that was done, she placed the dough back inside the bowl and covered it with a cloth.
Liesandra placed the bowl outside in the sun to rise and went to check on the soup. She took a spoon and stirred, getting the present aroma of tomato soup. She threw in some spices and let it simmer. For half an hour the girl cleaned up ad got the oven ready while waiting for the dough to rise.
When that was all ready, she placed the ball of dough inside the brick oven to bake.
She then began to get the trolly ready with bowls, glasses, cutlery, and drink. She then placed the pot of soup on it with a ladle. The bread was pulled out and placed upon a wooden cutting board, then put on the cart. A serrated bread knife was wrapped up in a cloth and placed beside the loaf. Some cloth napkins were it down under the cutlery.
And just as Liesandra finished, she was called again to the master’s chambers. She quickly pushed the large cart up the steep slope to the second floor and knocked on the door.
This time a large woman of over 6 feet opened the door. She had dark black hair and soft green eyes. Her skin was pale and seemed to glow in the retreating light of the sun as it was setting, making the gold chain in her hair sparkle. He dress was made oof the finest silks and dyed to a deep lavender.
Behind her on the bed with the master of the house was another man with a husky build who stood a little above seven feet. His robes were made from fine lining in whites and browns. His hair, curly and a messy brown and his face covered in a beard. His eyes were turned toward the blonde, their blue giving his red all of his attention in their conversation.
The girl scoffed, “It’s about time!” And left to her seat back on the bed in between the two men.
Liesandra gave her a nod and rolled the cart in beside the bed and went to light the candles all around the room. As she did so, the other three began to dig in. She watched out of the corner of her eye. They had to like it. It had to be good if it wasn’t good, she’d get punished again. And Liesandra couldn’t afford to get punished again today.
The woman turned to the slave and said “Thanks for not messing this one up, Lielie,” before taking another bite.
“Well said, your highness.” The brunette spoke up with a nod.
The royal smiled and puffed up her chest. “But of course! A princess must always look after her people, no mater how small and worthless, dear Father.”
Wrapping his arm around her waist, the blonde leaned in and kissed the side of her head. “How generous of you, your majesty.”
The master’s lips moved to the princess’ as the noirette slid her hand to the thigh of the father, the brunette kissed her neck and looked at Liesandra.
The young girl quickly left the room and closed the door. She didn’t need to be in the same room as them when that did that. And she certainly didn’t like how the priest was looking at her. It made her chin crawl, she felt like that whenever he looked at her. It was why Liesandra always made sure to never be in a room alone with him.
She went down to the kitchen and began to clean up the mess she made while making dinner. There was extra bits of vegetables, a cracked pot and a couple of bowls. She could have dinner. And because there were guests over, she couldn’t eat here.
Liesandra picked up everything that she needed and ran out into the night until she arrived at the abandoned farm. Her dirty, bare feet went up the path and into the farmhouse.
The door opened with a loud creak and sent dust and dirt into the air. Walking over to the wood pile, the slave grabbed a few pieces and set them down in the hearth. She lit a fire and went to grab the wooden bucket in the corner. The girl then left to draw some water from the well a three minute walk away.
When approaching the well, she saw it. A woman with very long white and wavy hair and skin as pale as the dead. Her figure was thin but not unhealthy. She wore a knee length white dress with puffed sleeves, and a pair of nice leather boots and some white gloves. Around her neck a fine steel chain and a small locket on it. Her eyes looked to be made of silver as they turned to look at Liesandra. She looked to be eighteen but didn’t have the height for it, only being around five seven. And upon closer inspection, her ears did not have pointed tips, they were round as a baby’s.
“Oh, hello. I did not know that anyone is here.” The pale lady spoke, her voice high in pitch but soft in tone. “I am not intruding, am I?”
Liesandra shook her head. “No, I just came for some water.”
The woman nodded. “Ah yes, water. It is very wet and delicious. I like to eat it very often.”
The girl nodded. “Yeah… so could you please move? You’re blocking the well.”
“Oh! I am so sorry, I had forgotten where I was for a moment.” The pale woman hopped off the well’s edge and watched as the girl worked with giant equipment. “Everything is so big here, it is kind of incredible.”
“Mhm.” Liesandra acknowledged what the woman had said whitest puking up a now full pail of water.
She then began her walk back to the cabin with the strange lady following beside her. “Say, are we in the land of the giants?”
The girl looked to the pale woman in confusion as she opened the old farm house’s door. “You aren’t from around here, are you?” She asked as they entered.
“What makes you say that?” The woman asked while taking a seat by the fire.
Liesandra paused while pouring the water into the cracked to and stared at her. “Are you serious? You don’t look Blablurian, and I doubt that you’re a survivor, you’re too clean.”
“Survivor? Is that where we are at now?” The woman asked to herself, earning a puzzled look from the girl as the scraps were thrown into the pot.
Shaking her head, Liesandra turned her attention back to the pot. When it began to heat up, she pulled the screwdriver out of her pocket and used it to stir the pot.
As the food was finishing up, Lielie grabbed one of the bowls and filled it with the stew. And when she did so, the woman asked. “Can I have some?”
The girl looked at the woman, then the pot, and then to her own bowl. She had planned on having seconds, she didn’t know when the next time she could wat was; but she also couldn’t bring herself to let another person starve. That was a pain that she knew all too well.
Liesandra gave her bowl to the woman and grabbed the other one and filled it with what was left of the stew. She sat down to eat and set the screwdriver down on the floor.
After a few minutes of eating in silence, the lady grabbed the screwdriver and looked it over. “A Phillips, good choice,” she said and set it down.
“Phillips?” The slave asked with food still in her mouth.
“Do not speak with your mouth full, it is rude.” The woman nagged. “It is the same of that type of screwdriver.” She set down her empty bowl and stretched. “Well that was good, Phillips. Thank you for the meal.
“I-what? Who are you calling Phillips?” Lielie piped up.
“Why you of corse! You have been carrying around a screwdriver in your pocket. Cookie?” The lady stuck a hand in her hair and pulled out a cookie and placed it in the girl’s hands.
“Ah-thank you.” She began to eat the cookie and chewed slowly. It tasted like a painterly but there was something else. She looked down at the cookie in her hand and saw that there were brown chunks inside it, Lielie’s eyes widened. That was chocolate. Why did this lady give her some? This was strictly for those that were a much higher statis than a slave.
“It is good, right? Tell you what, I like your cooking. If you work for me, you can eat good food and have a warm bed every night.” The pale woman piped up.
It wasn’t that bad of a deal for Liesandra, but there as only one problem.
“I would love to, but I can’t.” The girl shook her head.
The woman frowned, “And why is that, Phillips?”
Liesandra motioned to the rings on her ears. “I’m a slave. I have a master, it’s not my decision to make. And don’t call me Phillips.”
“Then what if I become your master? I will never harm you, and give you a safe place to stay. You will even receive pay. And I will make sure that you will never go hungry again.” The stranger offered. “You would just have to give me your owner’s rings. What do you say?”
Liesandra stared at her and thought. After a few minutes she spoke. “Do you promise? Will you make an oath?”
The woman smiled, “I swear on the name of the Goddess of Time, Snowflake, that if I become your master, that I will never cause you any harm.”
The slave stared at her in shock. “I want you to be my master.”
The woman smiled. “Good! Now Phillips, I need you to get me those ownership rings.”
“Why can’t you get them? They’re going on your fingers.” Lielie asked. “And it’s Liesandra.”
“Because if I get them, it will be considered stealing and then I can not ever be your master.” The lady answered.
Lielie nodded and took a deep breath. This was going to be hard. Her current master was so big and strong, and she was so weak and small; not to mention that she was only a kid! She was just twelve! Still, it had to be done. To live a better life.
The child stood and walked to the door. She turned to the woman and said, “I will be right back,” and left to her master’s manor, taking the screwdriver and putting it back in her pocket.
She snuck in quietly and began to slowly walk up the stone steps and to the master suite. She put her ear to the door to listen and see if the other three were awake. It was quiet with the occasional snore and sigh. Perfect.
Liesandra cracked the door open and took a peek, and it looked like and easy mission. The blonde was on the far side of the bed with the princess in the middle and with the priest closest to the door.
She crept in and quietly made her way around to the other side of the bed, being sure to keep to the shadows. She reached over to grab the blonde’s right hand and began to slowly slide the rings off of his fingers. Thank the Gods that all three of these people reared of booze, sending them into a deep sleep.
The one on his thumb slid off with a twist, the problem was the pinky’s, he had a closed fist. Liesandra began to carefully unwind his hand just enough to slide the second ring off.
The priest made a loud snort in his sleep that made the slave girl jump. She stared at him as she finished with the second ring. Liesandra slowly pulled away from the triad and crept out of the room and down the stairs.
She got down the stairs when she heard her master say, “What? That bitch!”
The girl took off and ran for her life, holding the rings close to her chest as the sound of the blonde man quickly untangling himself from his sheets, waking the other two up in the process. She clamored out of the main door and down the moon lit road as her master jumped off the balcony and took off after her.
He soon caught up and tackled her to the ground. “What in Snowflake’s name do you think you’re doing you filthy little slut?” He growled and slapped her face before wailing on her.
She reached into her pocket and pulled out the screwdriver and plunged it into his side, earning a hotel from him. It bought her enough time to scurry away from the giant man as the other two approached.
Liesandra booked it for the farm house, loosing the others on the way.
By the time she arrived at the location, he rungs were on fire and her legs felt like gelatin. The woman stepped out of the cabin to greet her.
“Oh there you are Phillips! I see that you have made it back in one piece.” She said and wiped away some of the blood from the girl’ face. The woman then noticed that Liesandra was holding a bloody screwdriver.
The girl looked down at the bloody tool. “They followed and got what was coming to ‘em.”
“Ah, living up to your name, eh Phillips.” The woman put the slave maser rings on and stood, putting a key inside of the keyhole of the cabin door.
Lielie stood and watched the woman in anger. “For the last time, my name is Liesandra! Why can’t you get that? I shouldn’t have to be called that, especially when you haven’t given me your name?
The woman laughed and opened the door, on the other side was a completely different place than the farm house. “I guess that I forgot to say it. You may call me Snowflake. Come along now, we have much to do, Phillips.”
The girl’s eyes widened as they followed Snowflake through the door. If God says your name is Phillips, your name is Phillips.

CCS: Clear Card Ch. 61
Happy Belated CLAMP DAY!!
I wanted to read the chapter on April 1 but ended up being really busy. I did listen to CCS playlist that FlyingDog tweeted about, and wahhhh CCS songs so nostalgic. I also totally did not end up spending more money ordering CLAMP merch CCS Clear Card vol. 12 special edition. Anyways~the latest chapter is currently available on CLAMP-net’s YouTube Channel. As always, do check out @meimi-haneoka's post on the latest chapter for EN-JPN translation differences.
Links for previous chapter reactions can be found here.
Reactions:
Akiho & Sakura on the colored page! So spring! So lovely ♥
WAIT! IT'S LIELIE AND NADESHIKO!!
This is so gorgeous!! Omgsh!! I'm just spazzing out of joy!!!
Also me one second later: feelig SAD because we won't see the girls and their moms together forreal because... yeah TUT
That dream of Sakura facing MCF is totally not ominous... >_>
THE BEGINNING OF THE END!!! To think that this series was going to be a "short series" when we read the first chapter and saw these very lines...
To think there can be anymore to happen in the dream to make me feel even MORE uneasy for the day we get this real confrontation... we have Sakura's outfit being teased...
Father & daughter moment! Precious times!
Awww they're talking about Nadeshiko. Fujitaka is speaking of her sooooo fondly ahhhh!!! I'm... tearing up!
"The only person for me" line again TuT
Not surprised that Akiho's having a similar moment.
Kaito holding back from the headpat is just... =_= why do you do this to yourself man...?
Oh! Is this Akiho experiencing the resonance/synchronization from Sakura's end??
Wait... did Akiho always know about magic... for some reason I thought she had her memories erased/repressed or...??
Akiho T_T
Kaito fist-clench. I would want to shake my angry fist too ><
YES! THOSE FOOLS! Call them what they are!!
Wait... both her parents like chocomint?? *squints*
Oh man... so Kaito's doing all this out of guilt too...?
Two new cards! Resembling Touya & Fujitaka!
~~
Thoughts:
Man, this chapter is just entirely a parallel between Sakura-Fujitaka and Akiho-Kaito. But one end is full of wholesome sweetness (with a bit of sad) and the other end is just full of bitter sadness TuT
1. I need to focus more on the Kaito-Akiho exchange. Oh man, I had to check back older notes and also @meimi-haneoka's post on this chapter to confirm that this was the first time Akiho openly talks about her clan (and her knowledge of magic). I remember those flashbacks from when she was younger too, but I thought she was probably feeling disconnected from those memories because she repressed them or something. But gosh, seeing her say those things and repeating what her clan members have told her. That's just SO CRUEL of them! The whole if they had known Akiho would be like this then they wouldn't have introduced her parents. Won't go into details, but I personally experience something similar, so I feel this on a very personal level.
I think the worst of it is Akiho recounting all these things, thinking that Kaito's not aware of the situation, when in fact he is! And wow, all of this is just making Kaito so much more angrier and upset--at both Akiho's clan, and also himself, especially because he's soooo much more aware of everything. A lot of things are starting to connect and make so much sense. The extent that Kaito is going in order to change things because at the time when he thought he was helping Akiho (by dismissing her and saying she's powerless, like a blank book, in hopes that they'll just exile her to a normal life), he ended up... ruining her chance at happiness/normal life. He basically feels that he's condemned her with his words and she's on the verge of losing her soul. Wow. For Kaito, Akiho is the daughter of the one person who pretty much opened/changed his view of the world. Knowing that his words is causing her to being subject to this, of course there's extreme guilt! I think it just got worse over time because no doubt Kaito has become so fond of Akiho (and feels love for her obviously) over the years, but there's this thing at the back of his mind telling him how he needs to fix this, or makes him feel unworthy of her because he's the reason why her life is heading the direction it's heading. HENCE ALL THOSE TIMES HE'S LITERALLY HOLDING BACK HIS HAND! His motivation makes SO much more sense now because he's placing all that blame on his very own words, so he doesn't even care if he ends up sacrificing himself in order to save her soul. This knife cuts deep.
EDIT: Forgot to add this but something in my gut tells me that the "accident" which resulted in the death of Akiho's parents... is no ordinary accident...
I'm hoping that when everthing gets resolved at the end--without death of any additional characters (my fear)--that Kaito will be able to be more like himself, and be able to tell Akiho stories everyday about everything he knows about Akiho's mother (and father, though that's prob limited info for him lol).
2. The confusion I have over the chocomint thing is because Lilie mentioned that the one she likes, does not like chocomint. Pretty sure it's not a mistake on CLAMP's end. So maybe they just said that because it's information they're not sure about... maybe they just remember seeing her father eating a lot of chocomint because Lilie likes chocomint.
3. And finally: The new cards are Choice and Freedom. It'll be interesting to see what these cards will do in the future.
I just want to give everyone all the hugs because they deserve it.

—haunted house tour, part i
pairing: pillars x reader
summary: it’s the season of the witch and you’re invited to take a tour of a haunted estate by your friends.
warning: none
words: 2k+
note: a long overdue halloween fic that was originally a super spicy sanemi story with no plot whatsoever. then i decided to incorporate a few of the other pillars so a monster fic was born. i had so much fun writing this and there will be a part 2 coming soon so please enjoy! my inbox is open for requests.
someone managed to convince everyone that the western tradition of halloween was a fun social event that could boost morals. while a fun event was an indisputable fact, you’re not quite sure if it will boost morals. for starters, the pillars themselves were partaking in the event as individual monsters they’ve picked out from a book that were imported from overseas.
shinobu was in charge of decorating an empty estate, alongside aoi and the butterfly girls. however, shinobu wanted to be a witch, so during the evenings, you saw her wearing a large pointed hat that looked a bit big for her small head. from what sumi said, she even hand painted the marks of a witch onto her face. the craftsmanship was so well-done that you thought shinobu had contracted warts.
“maybe i should paint something on your face too?” her soft voice couldn’t hide the vein that’s pushing upwards underneath the skin of her forehead. “you and everyone else who’ve asked me this question!” her lipstick-stained mouth twitched upward into a grin that hid malevolence underneath, causing you to shrink back and excuse yourself.
when the night of the haunted house tour arrived, you were the only person who wanted to go as a single. everyone else went as groups of three or more. when tanjiro and his friends came out, you noticed the immediate reactions. while inosuke insisted on going inside so he could fight everyone, zenitsu was dragging him back, while crying over the horrors within the building. tanjiro, on the other hand, seemed to be the only one who enjoyed it.
“where’s nezuko?” you asked, noticing the absence of the demon girl.
“she’s part of the attraction with the others,” tanjiro replied, beaming with pride. “we got a good glimpse of her, but i think she’s trying a little too hard to be scary.” the last of tanjiro’s words came out in a whisper. he then waved at you, just as both inosuke and zenitsu started tugging at his arms. “you enjoy the house, okay?”
once the butterfly girls came out, sniffling and laughing at the same time, it was your turn. you handed murata your ticket and he beckoned you in.
the first thing you noticed was the sheer darkness of the interior, followed by the subtle scent of wisteria flowers flowing through the air. you knew that the estate was a bit far away from the other buildings, so they put wisteria incense around to deter potential demons from slipping in. according to the people who already went, the path was just a one-way destination. after you finish, you go around the building and collect a wisteria pouch for your trip down.
when you enter the first room, you noticed that you’re face to face with a well placed in the very center. it didn’t look real enough to be one so you suppose it must be made from scratch materials. nothing else was in the room, though you notice a thin mist covering the bamboo floor.
the only logical thing to do was to interact with the well. steeling yourself, you made your way up and gazed into it.
“boo.” muichirou popped up, dressed in the clothing of the dead as he dropped a white ceramic plate onto the floor. he looked absolutely emotionless, perhaps even bored. when you didn’t react, he propped his chin on his arm and tilted his head. “strange,” he said softly, “everyone else was shocked and scared.” then, looking embarrassed, he sunk down into the well again.
for a moment, you were left startled by the suddenness of muichirou’s appearance. you’ve never thought of him to be an easily embarrassed type, so you felt guilty for not pretending to be scared. you walked over to the well’s entrance, seeing him adjusting his accessories within the darkness, and said, “you did a good job!” there was silence, before you distinctly heard muichirou’s voice respond with a ‘thanks.’
moving on, you trudged through a hallway lit with lights behind partition doors. the way they made it look like some of the lights were floating, but you noticed the people behind, moving the lights themselves. shrugging, you continued until you felt someone pushing you into a room. “from now on, random monsters will come and try to scare ya!” the voice said, muffled by a fabric covering their entire face.
and they were right, because for a short duration, multiple people covered in make up and cot sheets were jumping out from room and oddly placed furniture. they each attempted to grab at you, only for your hand to automatically come up and slap them lightly. soon, you began muttering more apologies than actually being scared. fortunately later on, the people started dwindling until you found yourself in another room.
the second room you were in was lit with individual lights of orange, red, and yellow. someone had brought in thick wax candles that were carved to look like ghoulish faces. you also saw two fake western pumpkins perched behind a group of candles, no doubt the brainchild of someone from shinobu’s estate. despite the wisteria scent still hovering in the air, you noted a vague smell that lurked underneath.
suddenly, mist poured forth in thick waves. a shape appeared, before it slowly lumbered over to you. their hands were stretched out, as if vying to grab hold of something. you then saw the paper talisman hanging off of their face and the mane of fiery hair underneath the hat.
“rengoku?”
your heart hammered with excitement as you watched rengoku amble towards you. a groan escaped his mouth, before he stopped, body frozen in mid-walk. “[name], you’re supposed to run around the room!” he quickly said in a whisper. then, he was back at walking, now hunching forward as he made his way around the room. frequently, he would shift his body towards you, but you stood there, stifling a laugh and body unable to move.
instead, you lunged forward and wrapped your arms around rengoku’s midsection, giggling. he froze then, arms sagging as he dropped his gaze to you. a faint breeze from your movement lifted a portion of the paper talisman upwards. through the tiny amount of light, you noticed that rengoku’s face was in shock—and if you dare to say—with darkening cheeks. but the shock coming from rengoku subsided and soon you felt two hands cupping your cheeks, gently lifting your head up.
“you’re quite a troublesome victim, [name]!” he said, voice bright and cheerful as always. in response to his comment, you stuck your tongue out before waltzing back.
“next time, i think you should be more fast and really grab someone!” you replied, holding your hands behind your back. “i wasn’t scared at all, not when you look so nice in that outfit.”
rengoku laughed, but you knew he was feeling more than happy on the inside. he then waved at you, just as the lights flickered off. now, it was time for you to leave his room and move on to the next attraction.
upon stepping into another corridor, you smelled the faint scent of something sweet. coupled with the wisteria scent that drifted through, it felt more like stepping into an oiran’s room. you also noticed that this hallway was a bit brighter than the last, with colorful decorations that were most liely imported from overseas, and some fake flowers that lined the walls. you pondered about staying here for a moment, just to gaze at everything, before you heard someone cough and whisper for you to go on to the next room.
before you could slide open the door, mitsuri came out, dressed in fake ears and several fake fox tails. she was absolutely giddy about something, but it wasn’t her expression that caught your surprise. no, it was the desserts that were placed on a long table behind her. none of these desserts were the same and some were even new to you.
“hello [name]! welcome to my banquet!” she said, holding your hand as she took you to the table. “i made most of these, but sanemi made the ohagi and—oh! he was here a moment ago, but i guess he went off to prepare for his room.” briefly, mitsuri looked disappointed before she perked up and tugged at the sleeve of your uniform. “but don’t worry your cute face, i’ll make sure to feed you well!”
“feed me?” you said, taken aback by the drastic change. however, you were feeling hungry and the temptation of sweets tugged at your mind. so before long, you were eating, with mitsuri piling more on your plate every time it goes empty. while doing so, mitsuri was talking about her room. she wanted a more western themed banquet that aligned with halloween, so everything was made to look like some type of spooky creature and item.
“i must say, sanemi was really good with reshaping those ohagi so they looked like cats, but i wouldn’t put it past him, he’s good with his hands after all!” mitsuri squealed and clapped her hands to her cheeks. she’s gushing about all of the pillars and non-pillars while you shove food into your mouth. suddenly, you heard the familiar sound of a snake’s hissing and accompanying footsteps.
“ah, iguro!” mitsuri said, moving to sit next to you. she then embraced you from the side, pulling you so close to her chest that you felt heat rushing into your cheeks. when you saw him, you almost choked on your food. wrapped around him was a fake cobra made from paper, but it looked so realistic that you thought it could’ve been breathing.
iguro looked at mitsuri first, then his eyes turned to you. “hurry up, you’re taking precious time away from us.” he was leering down at you, but you only swallowed your food and offered iguro your plate without saying a word. instead of decisively turning away, iguro stepped back. “..i didn’t say you can share your food with me!” he then turned around, but not before muttering ‘idiot’ under his breath.
“oh stop that, [name] was being nice!” mitsuri said, plucking a small onigiri off of your plate, before throwing it into her mouth. “iguro wants to join us, right?” there was a teasing tone in her words and you were certain iguro noticed. but in the next moment, he was sitting directly besides you. you were now sandwiched between both love and snake pillar, an d their close contact was making you shift with a fluttering sensation inside your ribs.
“here, a gift,” iguro said gruffly, showing you a sock puppet with eyes made of flat stones and a smile painted crookedly by hand. you set your plate on your lap, before mitsuri reached over and took it from you. you then slid the puppet onto your hand and played around with it.
“thank you! it’s lovely,” you said, “you’re really good at making these, you should show me how to do it later.” you saw iguro cross his arms against his chest, but all you heard was a grunt as he turned his head away. mitsuri was cooing at the leftover food, which she was too busy fawning over while eating. noting how much time you’ve already spent in this room, you then stood up and thanked both for their individual hospitality, sock puppet still on your hand.
“oh don’t mind us, we’re just looking out for our cutest member,” mitsuri said with a light giggle. she then stood up and lightly pushed you out of the door on the other side of the room. then, leaning in, she added, “he may not look like it, but i think iguro likes you a lot! and watch out for the dog up ahead.” just when you were about to turn around, mitsuri plants a kiss on your temple.
you felt yourself inhaling a deep breath, cheeks now hotter than ever. throwing your gaze back, you saw mitsuri watch you leave, hands clasped together. she wasn’t hiding her face nor did she look embarrassed, so you began to wonder if, perhaps—
but your thought was quickly pulled away when you felt someone lift you up off the ground. a small whimper escaped your throat as you feel them move, your legs hovering uselessly off the ground. but you sensed no malice from this person, so instead of fighting you close your eyes.
after all, this was still part of the attraction right?

War Anthem | Gabriel and Lielie
If he was to be truthful with himself, this was worse than the first loss, and perhaps that was why he had abandoned any semblance of self care past the bare minimum the moment she walked out of his apartment. He gave her the choice, she took it, and he regretted every damned word he had thrown at her the moment she began to speak. Maybe it was his empathy, the Fae half of his genetics, that had made it so easy for a miserable Gabriel to pick up double pneumonia in the middle of May. Didn’t the stories talk about Fae willing themselves to waste away out of grief? He wasn’t sure, but he was also on a rather stupendous mixture of antibiotics, decongestants, and codeine laced cough syrup right about now. He also was standing near his door holding the same mail from several minutes ago, having realized that he hadn’t even processed the action at all. That was good, that was...there was a knock at the door, swift as lightning and just as quickly it opened. Brynn didn’t enter like that, neither did his Da, and the whole thing made his head spin enough that he lost his footing turning around to look. The sofa arm narrowly saved him from hitting the floor, but it wasn’t easy to right himself again. Nor was it easy to process just who was looking at him, or to handle the jolt of pain in his chest at the sight of her. He looked like shit, that could account for some of what he saw, but it still didn’t make sense. “I thought...I thought you weren’t coming back. That you didn’t want to see me again.” He said hoarsely. “I deserve as much, I think.”

Maybe Treasure is...
It all began suddenly and weirdly, as most stories do. I was helping a friend to clean their garage, so many trinkets and trash to separate, try to sell, try to give to charity and among it all there was... this map. They told me that it was most likely a joke map he got from a souvenir store in one of their many trips but they didn’t care for it anymore. I asked for it and they said “sure keep it” in a very dismissive tone... they didn’t really care or it. Thankfully they didn’t saw my face that at that moment was full of glee and greed because the previous day I watch a documentary of treasures and luck would have it... this map was the real deal.
I took the map home without mentioning my friend why I left in such a hurry, just the usual “I feel slightly ill” excuse and then I was trying to decipher the map. Because the map ended up being written not in latin like the documentary said but in code, code RESEMBLING laitn. Initially i was lost and unsure what to do. But then a develish idea came to me. I called at my friend. She is studying archeology in college, I sent her a transcript of what was written in the map and ask her if she could solve it. She was curious where I got the scribbles I sent but I just dismissed it as a bet with me and a friend. Thankfully she didn’t asked more intrusive questions and since she digs the whole think with language and cipher and language she got me a perfectly understandable alphabet. She asked me to tell her later what the translation gave. “Sure...” I said, with full intention of NOT fullfiling that promise.
With the translation in hand it turns out the treasure wasn’t that far off the city, yet no close either. It was located in a tiny island far into the sea. I decided I needed a boat to get there and It had to be me ALONE who got there... so I went to my friends that owned a boat shop to get what I needed. Initailly they got very curious and in my face about why or where I was gonna use the boat for, specially since I was only asking them to borrow their boat to me (Maybe I could have told them to sell it, but didn’t got money at the time and was NOT sharing my profits out of nowhere). Eventually they lend me their boat under the condition of making a party on my return... *sigh* sure why not, it’s ot like I won’t have the means to right?
I finally set sail and with a day’s journey reached the small island. According to the map the treasure would be right at the center. Got ready my shovel (borrow from another friend) and began to dig... by the end of the first day I was in despair checking the map time and again to see if the spot to dig was another.
During the second day of digging my brain was running on fumes “WHY WOULD THIS MAP BE A FAKE? WHY ALL MY HARD WORK WOULD GO TO WASTE!?!?!?! Can’t you see how much it cost me reach this point? Finding the map? translating it? Getting on a boat? THE SHOVEL!?!?!?!? I DESERVE THIS TREASURE COME ON WHERE IS IT! WHERE I-*CLANK*
There it was! Finally my days of effort and push finally rewarded, I grab the chest, open it up and find... SO MUCH GOLD! ALL OLD COINS BUT CLEARLY GOLD! And even some jewlery and precious stones, the chest (that was the size of a personal printer) was full of goodies and they were all mine! Before I left I decided to empty the chest, I was totally gonna leave the empty chest burried empty with just a jokey note so maybe some other greedy idiot would find that all theirs efforts in the end were for note saying something silly like “Maye treasure is the--” I got distracted from my awful thought when I looked at an letter that fell from the chest. The letter, from the pirate who had hidden the treasure read as follows:
“To ye who fund my plunder o’ plenty: CONGRATS MATEY! You take this tiny reserve off my avast fortune made in the seas. Use it wisely or throw it down a cliff in the joys of sea and man, it’s up to ye. But if you can hear an ol’sea dog’s advice: NEVER FORGET YOUR CREW! I know I wouldn’t have made it far without all this perfect petulant parrots by me side. So appreciate your pals until each of you get separated by Davy Jones locker since THEM are a far better treasure that those scraps you got from this old dog of the seas”
"Never forget my crew? what does...” and suddenly felt the coldest bucket of icy water in my life. Looking back from when I got the map until that moment... and I knew. I grab the treasure with chest included, left the place untouched and departed back home at full speed. The moment my cellphone got any type of reception I called all my friends for them to wait for me at the dock the following day. Without that letter, the most liely outcome would have been me running with the boat to a paradise island to waste all of “my” treasure. But now...
The moment I reached the dock, all my friends where there. All puzzled and extremely shocked when they saw the chest full of riches. We all have a laugh at the friend that had the map in the first place, though I did apologize for not telling them the truth of the map in the first place. We all paid attention at how my friend was able to create the translation for the code of the map and I showed her and all what it said in the map (fun fact: didn’t noticed before but the island was charted on the map as “savings” island). Then, like a salesman I showed how awesome was the ship my two friends borrowed (and now I bought) gave to me for a “mysterious” trip that lead my to the treasure. And with all of them gathered I shared my new idea: LET’S BECOME A LITERAL CREW! We can search for treasures big and small! You have the resources, I got the will and leadership and the friend who lend me a shovel has the finance prowless to help us keep the business afloat! It took some convincing in the end but sounded fun AND was an investment we all thought we could afford. After all, there was plenty of treasure left after I give to each of us a smal percentage of it.
And so while we’re getting ready to have a huge party for the start of our new partnership. I look at them, smile and remember that ancient all joke...
Treasure DEFINITELY is the friends you made along the way.
Rules:
Yes, I just took the meme “Maybe ____ is the friends who made along the way” and made it a heartfelt story. Probably needed some work but for a first draft I say is alright.
Hopefully the “pirate” advice doens’t look too weird? Corny I don’t care, just that it’s understandable...
Now read the story again but listening to: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6bB10gCUk9A   (Donkey Kong Country 2 - Jib Jig [Woodwind cover])
Extra song since I did the first half of the story with this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YwOlXGSv5JI

Harrow House
There are sometimes feelings much, much too heavy for words. At that point in between not knowing whether I am truly alive or just a cog in the machine that made up my mind. I, myself not entirely being whole. I live in a constant state of re-entering. I constantly wake up; subconsciously to new feelings, thoughts, and realities. My heart and mind torn to pieces.
Dark wood paneling lines the walls of the small double wide sized home. Lights are scarce, while darkness consumes the home; except for the small aura of light above each bedroom door. Leading one by one down the hall, they all led to a single chair.  Centered in the middle of the floor was an old fruitwood chair with a half circle frame. When sitting in the chair I can see my own reality, but sometimes when those other doors open, Other’s join in my perception. On occasion its, loose thoughts. Sudden and on topic, but not my own. Other times it’s more like playing a part in a show. Some poor gent attempts to be someone else and convince an audience. The difference is that instead of having to learn an accent, a dialect, or mannerism; he would get into the light and become it, naturally without thought. Only afterword would his brain realize something was wrong. How he had, so unknowingly changed and became something other than himself, but still whole and seamless at the same time. This even Is nothing strange to my very reality. Certain situations I am not in all wholeness, myself.
Now that I no longer lock their doors, and they freely observe and intervene; I am becoming more and more aware of “our” wholeness. I long and wish to truly be whole. In this house of darkness and sadness is a place more encroached in woe and hurt.  This door is feared by all but remains open consistently; as a reminder to myself of the pain I must live with.

Blue Monday | Gabe and Lielie
He thought nothing of Brynn’s remark about how she had let an old friend of his upstairs earlier to wait for him at the time. There were few people who sought him out and Brynn? She had solid judgement on the relative danger or annoyance levels of anyone she met. She had mentioned it as a brief aside as he was heading upstairs and she was heading out for the day, Saturday being her normal half day of the week. So it was probably Lenie or Shiloh, maybe even his Da, which was precisely why he opened his door without another thought towards the matter. It wasn’t until he was heading towards the kitchen that he caught sight of her, and his eyes went wide, his hands suddenly loose around the handles of his grocery bags. They fell to the floor with a solid thunk just as he could feel tears coming to his eyes. It couldn’t be, it was entirely...and yet there she was. Could he be hallucinating? He’d never done so before, he watched his bloody sugar so he wasn’t going too low and all that nonsense. He wasn’t sick, for once. “You’re dead, Lielie.” Gabe said hoarsely. “Je suis allé à tes funérailles.” He paused, still frozen in place. “Mon coeur est mort avec toi.”
