astrology awakening anon here with some fun facts i came across when figuring out pairings: 1. There are NO tauruses among the gen 1 Shepherds, but 4 among the children (lucina, morgan, cynthia, and laurent)

Libra

Libra practices Fire Emblem's patented "Fantasy Catholicism." He was abandoned at an orphanage by his parents as a child, they believed he was possessed by the fell dragon Grima(basically dragon Satan, desperate for them to stay, he clung to his mothers legs, weeping. In disgust she struck him, leaving a scar on the back of his neck. He grew up as a cleric, raised by fellow priests. During the events of the story, his clergymen are slaughtered, so he picks up an axe and avenues them, becoming a War Monk. Libra is beautiful and is often mistaken for a woman. He's kind and calm and sensitive. He does his best to be a good person. But inside he feels like he's only putting on a show. That he's the scum of the earth and is only pretending to be a good person. He wishes to remove the memories of his childhood. Post game, he and whatever wife he may have taken, build an orphanage and raise lonely children like he once was. He is courted by both men and women alike, and is widely believed to be the reincarnation of Naga(basically lady Dragon God)

He's haunted by his past and he can wield an axe, that's all one could ever ask for in a man

She goes to Our Lady Of Intermittent Sorrows catholic school and when she prays to Jesus he appears

She’s like maybe 10 years old with so much pressure to be the best at everything. She goes to a Catholic school. (I think. If it’s not specifically Catholic then sue me I guess.) She speaks six languages etc. etc. She finally decided to stop trying to live up to impossible expectations because she met Jesus and he told her he didn’t really care if she won or lost the bee.

I know this is an ice cold take, but I get so sad when I play Fire Emblem. Because like, some of these characters have such an interesting story, so much of it is GOLD. 

Like, PLEASE tell me more about Camilla’s parentification and how it turned her into a helicopter sister, develop her paranoia surrounding Corrin, how the constant changes around her lead her to clinging to someone who literally couldn’t leave, how her connection to Corrin was most likely due to abuse and a lack of belonging, how her growing up without a mother drove her to become one for her siblings.

PLEASE elaborate on how Libra’s fervent faith was brought along by a neverending feeling of guilt, how he found peace within religion, how his past chases him. Tell us more about his devotion to Emmeryn, how his faith might have shaken upon seeing her plummet.

I BEG for more information on Peri, how her psychosis has been fed by being placed in a position where she must continue to feed her loodlust. For stories about Noire and how her trauma effects her beyond her DID. For the overwhelming fear and trauma Yarne has seeing history repeat itself, his mother dying, making him once again the last of the Taguel.

I feel like that’s the problem with the Fire Emblem formula, but also, in some way, it’s strength. They introduce these compelling ideas, but instead of leaving them open-ended and well shown, they just fall flat.

Great for the fanfic writers though.
