How do you come to a work event and end up with a crush on your teammates date?
Dylan kept his eye on you all night, following your every move until you and Rasmus sat down at the table with him.
“Dyl this is y/n! y/n this is my teammate Dylan Cozens!” Rasmus explains, Dylan almost falls to his knees when you smile.
You hold on your hand for him to shake “It’s so lovely to meet you! My brother has told me so much about you!”
Dylan’s face contorted into confusion “Brother?”
Rasmus laughs “Did i not tell you I was bringing my sister?”
“No!”
You roll your eyes “Ras… wait! Did you think I was his date?”
Dylan blushes “Yeah…”
Both you and Rasmus look at one another before you begin laughing.
Dylan found out the next day at practice from your brother that you had come to stay with him after a horrible breakup from your boyfriend back in Sweden.
Dylan spent the following months being friendly with you until you had declared to the boys you were going on a date.
His face fell but he said nothing, he had no right.
While you were on the date, Dylan was at Peyton’s house with a couple of the guys when his phone started ringing.
“Hello?”
“Dylan?” “y/n? What’s wrong?”
“Can you come pick me up please? This guy he’s scaring me-“
Dylan was leaving the house then, staying on the phone and driving to the restaurant you were at. When he found you, you hugged him so tight and mumbled thank you’s to him in Swedish.
He took you back to his apartment, let you change into something comfier and put on a movie before he text Rasmus.
y/n is at my place. I’ll explain at practice, but she’s safe don’t worry about her coming home tonight.
He was nervous for his teammates reaction but the text that followed was;
I know she’s safe with you cozey. don’t break her heart ok?
Dylan frowned, not sure what he meant until it settled.
He knew.
The following weeks you and Dylan hung out a lot. You took comfort in his presence.
Dylan was out with an injury and so he had invited you up to the box with him for a home game, the invite which you accepted.
You sat and watched him in admiration as he shouted through the game. Come intermission he’d disappeared to get you both a soda.
Once he’d returned there was a bunch of little kids playing hockey with the mascot, by the end The jumbotron showed a little girl with Sabretooth that read
Winner!!! Lennon wins!!
“That’s such a pretty name” you comment, taking a sip of your drink.
“Lennon?” Dylan questions and you hum in response.
“I think I’d like to name my daughter that” you add.
He smiles softly before he mumbles to himself
“Sounds like a plan”
Not quiet enough, you hear him and you smirk
“Cozen’s you have to ask me out before we name our children”
Sometimes I think of how Ringo had such a difficult youth with his health and later the gangs/violence he witnessed and then the drugs and alcohol problems, and then he posts pictures of broccoli or his painted toe nails and my heart just warms. Everyone makes fun of him (lovingly) for his peace and love attitude but he’s so right and it makes me happy to think he’s finally living a life that consists of discovering Snapchat filters and wearing fun hats
Ok but are you talking about complicated relationship or are you talking about John Lennon and Paul McCartney meeting when they were just 15 & 17, who decided then and there that they will change the whole world forever, who fell in love with music and skipped school to write songs eyeball to eyeball every day, who wanted to be credited as Lennon/McCartney because all their craft should always be remembered as one, who changed history and wrote music that still inspired generations for the next 5 decades together, who've lived together and saw each other almost every day for more than 10 years, who were each other's biggest rivals driving each other mad trying to outwrite history's greatest hits, who were each other's greatest inspiration and source of jealousy, who had a bond so intense their wives said they never looked at anyone else like they looked at each other,
who ended their musical partnership and friendship through an article in the press, who didn't properly speak again for almost 8 years and only communicated through veiled insults in each other's solo records and media, whose breakup of friendship drove each other to substance and drug abuse for over a decade, who lost a battle to time as the other was gunned down just when they started properly connecting again, who said the night he was murdered that the other was family, and family always forgave each other,
and McCartney who never showed up to induction ceremonies but cried as he said, "John Lennon, you made it, tonight you're in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame" because they always promised they'd conquer the world together, who still showed up to gun laws march in Central Park 40 years after Lennon was murdered across the street, who spent every single interview he got telling people to tell their loved ones "i love you" before it's too late, because he never forgave himself for never being brave enough to say it.
Paul McCartney and John Lennon talking about the cover of Rubber Soul, The Beatles Anthology (1995)
Paul: And the cover story... you know that... the cover where we looked stretched, the photo's stretched... that was the kinda thing would happen then, which... we were all very into that kind of random, little exciting thing that would happen. The photographer was Bob Freeman and he'd taken some pictures round at John's house in Weybridge and we just had our new gear on, the polo necks, and we were doing straight mugshots, the four of us all posing. And he came... back in London he was, it was in someone's flat, and he was showing us, he had a little carousel of slides and he had a piece of cardboard stuck up on a little chair that was album cover sized, and he was projecting the photographs exactly on to it, cause you could imagine exactly how it would look then as an album cover... it was a kind of good way to do it. But just as he... we'd just chosen the photo, we said, well that one looks good... and we all liked, we all liked ourselves in one particular shot, and he was just winding up when the card it was on just fell backwards a little bit, and it elongated the photo and it stretched, and we went 'Oh!' we went, 'Can we have that! Can you do it like that?' and he said 'Well yeah, I can print it like that' and we said 'Yeah, that's it! Rubber soul! Hey-hey!'
John: You see there's no great mysterious meanings behind all of this, it was just four boys, you know, working out what to call their new album
just love it when bands names are the names of the members. simon and garfunkel. emerson lake and palmer. like they really sign up for no lineup changes thats commitment if ive ever seen it. ive only ever seen it with duos-trios for the obvious reason of they're more stable and it's more of a fundamental change if a member switches but i need to see like a Full Band with 4 or 5 members named like that
Me: I really need some distraction from the Beatles, it has taken over my life so much
Opens Netflix, sees newly added "Last Night in Soho"
First scene of the movie plays "A World Without Love"
Paul Mccartney: What was that you were saying again?
Thanks Paul for being such a wonderful composer. It made me happy that they inserted a Lennon-Mccartney song in that movie. Back to The Beatles it is, then.
