TELL ME MORE ABOUT YOUR VOLO AND COGITA THING PLEASE!!! is she immortal too. whats going on there. i am so interested

both of them are immortal! cogita has been around since the original hisuian hero (alder) and the two of them were friends. she was given immortality by arceus to guide future heroes and also was given the opportunity to see alder again since arceus actually sent him home after that adventure

volo is 20 in pla and is either cogita's son or grandson idk he's related to her. after pla he fucks off to other regions to find a way to create his new world. he runs into mew who just likes causing problems on purpose all the time in milesverse. like they see volo walking around and goes "wouldn't it be fucking hilarious to give this guy immortality just to see what happens" and make a deal with him that they'll grant him immortality to create his new world and if he fails to do so he'll have to become mew's new plaything for the rest of eternity. volo goes "fuck it" and agrees so yeah he has immortality now. volo also grabbed idk mew's eye lash or something and uses it to get himself in the mewtwo project later on

anyway volo timeline:

1981 (25 years before rgby) - volo has a kid with someone and that kid is cynthia. volo realizes "oh fuck this kid looks a lot like me" so he takes the kid and drops her off at cogita's at celestic town (keep in mind that they haven't talked to eachother for almost a hundred years at this point) and goes "congrats you're a grandma now" and disappears. doesn't elaborate. cogita is cynthia's grandma now

1995 (11 years before rgby) - has another kid (n) with someone else. did the awesome parenting tactic of "giving your child to the wolves" because he didn't want to keep dropping off kids at cogita's

1996 (10 years before rgby) - meets a 15 year old cyrus being like depressed or something and decides to infodump sinnoh myths at him because he was idk bored or something. bad idea because now cyrus knows how to end the world

2003 (3 years before rgby) - learns about the mewtwo project and decides get himself involved because he's interested on what makes something alive and wanted to play god a bit. he shows team rocket the mew lash and they let him in. when shit begins to hit the fan he immediately decides that this isn't worth it and leaves. also he accidentally caused the hardenshipping divorce after telling archie and maxie about hoenn myths (oh yeah archie and maxie used to be in team rocket btw)

2010 (5 years before bw1) - volo learns that apparently the kid he gave to the wolves got adopted by a cult leader and snuck himself in team plasma out of curiosity. he got bored and left because he hated everyone's vibe but had something gay going on with colress before he left

2012 (3 years after dppt) - lucas has been eebied and volo overhears dawn and barry being sad about it and goes "god dammit i feel kinda bad" but also think this is a super good opportunity to figure out what sinjoh's deal is because he doesn't want to risk getting smited by arceus by stepping inside. he tells the two of them that the only way to save their friend is to go to the sinjoh ruins and summon arceus. so dawn and barry get cynthia's help along with the help of ethan and kris and they all investigate sinjoh together. nothing bad happens to them. definitely :3 (they all get blasted back in time)

2013 (ten years before scvi) - snuck into the area zero research team because he was curious. stole a bunch of crystal and dipped because he didn't like sada/turo's vibe

2015 (two years before xy) - accidentally stumbled upon team flare shit and snuck himself in out of curiosity. he realized he hated everyone here and dipped but before he left he grabbed a bunch of info on mega evolution timeline bullshitery

2016 (three years before sumo) - snuck himself into the aether foundation to learn more about ultra wormholes. stole a bunch of information about inter dimensional travel and pushed mohn into a wormhole because he spotted him being a little to silly. volo promptly fucked off and disappeared after that

2017 (two years before sumo) - began doing some ultra wormhole shenanigans until realizing that this wasn't getting him anywhere at the moment and promptly got bored and started doing something else. but before he did he gave a certain rainbow rocket leader information on interdimensional travel because he was bored

2019 (sumo) - pops in during the rainbow rocket take over to talk about alternate timelines and be kind of a nuisance. he's not part of rainbow rocket and isn't like being malicious to lillie and friends but he's not exactly friendly either

2020 (lgpe) - started working on a digital simulation of the kanto region during 2006 (rgby) because he was curious how realistic he could make ai into real people using the area zero crystals. this causes the events of lgpe when red, blue, and green finds the simulation (along with mina i guess)

2021 (swsh) - just kinda chilling in galar. infodumps to gloria, hop, and marnie about galar myths at one point. he's not that important actually idk how to shove him into rose's deal sorry

so yeah uuuuh that was a lot. i am normal about volo 👍

I’ve wandered to many a place during my years traveling this earth, and it seems that this time I’ve traveled to Rotomblr. I’m an enthusiastic academic hoping to learn new things and share the things I know with the world. I’m particularly interested in Legendary Pokemon and past civilizations.

this is a pokeblog for volo.

hi, i’m the admin of @fighttype . i kept thinking “man, i want to make a volo blog,” so i made a volo blog. wild. this blog is based around my own headcanons for him as well as the popular(?) immortal volo au/theory. i mostly just want to have a chill good time with everyone, but if you want any clarification on the nature of his current existence OOC feel free to shoot me an ask.

i’ll be playing it pretty fast and loose with the timeline, as i usually do. i may settle more as we go on, but to begin with he’s loosely in the same timeline as my other blog.

i’ll be trying to stay in-character as much as possible both in posts and tags but may occasionally break character or write in prose for ask games or longer threads—any instances of this will be marked.

So the list of characters that could be The Ghost from ghosts of memory au:

Melli:

He was at LEAST close acquaintances w Ingo. He knows this guy. He was also the most physically close to Ingo which means out of all of the Hisui ghost options, they were probably the most familiar with each other

A lot of his interactions with Ingo were probably full of misunderstandings on his side [ingo uses a lot of modern language, plus he just. doesn’t communicate in a way that Melli recognizes] so theres a wonderful whole thing when Melli with the twins and he just. recognizes that way of being friendly, and when he puts it all together hes like hit with just this feeling of absolute fondness. because he GETS it now. all his interactions w adult ingo have been shed with new light and he GETS it now.

He may think of it as a reward for learning. A test even, maybe? He’s grown as a person since he was last able to interact with others, and now he can share his wisdom, share what he’s learned with children. This time he’s not watching from behind a wall anymore. This time he’s in the picture.

Irida:

This isnt an Ingo centric fic. as it happens. so Melli getting the focus just because of his connection with Ingo simply Is Not Fair. And so, I introduce Clan Leader Irida.

She meets Elesa first, and sees a weird little girl in a forest, with only her pokemon by her side. She has burns on her fingers, and Irida has seen a lot of things. She refuses to assume, but there are many reasons that she could be alone, why she has no shoes on her feet, why she could be hurt. Irida has been a weird little girl. She won’t let this one be harmed [To be clear. lol. Elesa is not being abused, she simply plays with wires when she’s bored and keeps getting sparks on her fingers.]

She knows Ingo. She knows him. The name is such a shock she cannot help her curiosity when they ask to meet her in the forest behind the town again. [He looks nothing like how he once would. He wears not his hat nor his coat, and his small face lacks the wrinkles she had gotten used to by the time he disappeared. At this time, she wouldn’t recognize him, but one day, she would, and she would weep for the knowledge that she would lose him again.]

Emmet is someone she feels no kinship towards. She knows Ingo [or at the very least, feels distinctly as though she does], and Elesa reminds her of herself. Emmet’s complete uniqueness to her is refreshing. She enjoys his company, and the way he has really no relation to others she knew.

Adaman:

He already has a weird little sister, let him have another & two weird little brothers

He does know ingo! he knows what he looks like, he knows all the stories but he doesn’t know HIM. it’s so easy for adaman specifically to write off all of it as a coincidence because he doesnt know ingo. but he does. slowly, slowly he DOES. he will learn

I just like him. so he deserves a spot

He got voted onto the list by @dittolicous so!!

He was a child when Ingo was there so ummmm how the turns have tabled lol

He would have had a reason to be in Unova under the impression that the cowboy gym leader is his decendant

Volo:

History guy watches himself & his time become history

could totally meet cynthia

would be funny under a certain hc [that is sort of implied in canon?]

would allow me to have him meet our immortal bestie cogita again

cogita is part of this. shes here. she makes it so the kids can see ghosts

it would be really funny

he gets absolutely no wisdom from his dead years he is exactly the same as before

it would get rid of all the sad fun things thag make this story good but it would be so funny
