The young Dutch artist Lars van Wieren loves his domestic scenery.
“From an apparently everyday starting point, he makes a composition that you like to look at and keep looking at. He always makes clear choices, his touch is accurate, the paint remains 'paint', and you are always put on the wrong track because of the suggestion and illusion. His work, although it always concerns objects that we encounter every day, is and remains worth seeing. You keep looking and you keep seeing something different, something happens that you didn't see before”.

Het Nederlandse technologiebedrijf Starred.com opent na Londen nu ook een kantoor in Barcelona. Oprichter Lars van Wieren gaat de leiding over Engeland overdragen om zich te richten op verdere Europese expansie en, eind 2017, mogelijk een eerste grote investeringsronde. “Het verbaast me hoe makkelijk we in Spanje aan tafel bij bedrijven komen, hoeveel budget er is en hoe goed Engels men er spreekt. Ze snappen goed wat we hebben. We openden een kantoor in Barcelona bij wijze van test.” Weinig wijst erop dat die vroegtijdig wordt afgeblazen.
