if we were to look at it through a racial lens, I do find it very interesting that Jupe’s wife is white. that the audience at Star Lasso are majorly white. that he’s basically robbing the Haywoods, a black family, of their horses to feed them to an alien creature for white people’s entertainment. that he was the token asian adoptee in sitcom as a child. the model minority. fitting himself back into a system that used and failed him as a child, so he can find some semblance of respect and power as an adult man, only to still be swallowed up whole.

Ok I swear I will go to bed after this and I have made basically this same post before but while people talk a lot about Vimes' possession by a spirit of vengeance, I love the storyline of Tiffany getting possessed by an entity of desperate desire. She spends the whole book out of her element, struggling to fit in socially, wanting something to hide behind, and the hiver feels the same way. It's formless and helpless without a body to wear, and all it wants is to accumulate whatever will keep itself safe. It doesn't realize what that does to everyone around it. It's our id. It gives us what we want, even when it's not what we need.

And Tiffany gets her body taken over and watches herself threaten and steal and kill, forced to acknowledge that these actions stem from what the hiver sees in her, and when she gets free she pities it. She understands what it means to be scared and alone and ruled by your worst impulses. She gives it a name. She takes its metaphorical hand and helps it through the door. (And then accidentally gets stuck in the land of the dead and has to get dragged back, man Tiff what is it with you and underworlds). God I love her.

@gaywizrd submitted: hellllloooo please look at this incredibly freshly emerged ladybug- it’s a little late in the season for em, but its super rad to see them out and about! she started developing spots pretty soon after (EXTREMELY COOL TO SEE) and nibbling on the cocoon. im fairly confident in saying shes an asian 7-spotted ladybug (nortnernish utah, we have a ton of em) but please correct me if you know exactly what she is!

FRESHLY PEELED ANGEL. Seven-spotted ladybugs and Asian lady beetles are two different species. I can’t actually tell what this one is for sure before it darkens up and gets its normal markings but I think I maybe see the start of 7 spots and the pupal case doesn’t quite look like an Asian lady beetle, so I’d lean towards the seven-spotted ladybug.

I've had this hunch for a few months now but events today have made me pretty sure the sudden disappearance of the territorial posturing and hostility from the majority of the cis men in the choir wasn't because they got used to my presence as a tenor/decided to stop being shit about me being trans but because there were suddenly lady tenors and now I was easy to just shove back into the role of a girl and they didn't have to acknowledge me being trans and since they could just treat me as a girl and there were other girls and they had a specific accepted presence I was no longer being a threat and invader into their male space

Also like. I am getting really fucking tired of them correcting themselves or tacking on a "and lady" when they lump me in with an "ok men, let's try that again/do this/do that" even when I'm the only afab person in the room and 1. never object to being lumped in with the men and 2. do object to being called a girl lady woman or any similar gendering.

#also just like. there is a reason i sit in the middle of the section and it is because i do not want to be mistaken as an alto or soprano #and having the section organized in a way thst makes it clear you're grouping me as lady within the section is hella dysphoric #do not have me stand next to the girls becsuse you think i am one djdkwkwk i want to peel my skin off
