Cant believe disney cancelled the show before we got the hooty lore I crave.
Anyways, episode concept where it's an Indiana Jones parody that takes place after the main story and Lilith and Hootys museum opened.

Hypothetical episode plot below:
With the grand opening of their museum coming up, Hooty finds that Lilith has less and less time to spend with him. While she's looking for a main attraction to display on opening night, Hooty takes a nap and dreams of an old temple that belonged to the Titan.
Hoping to spend more time with Lilith, Hooty lies and says that the temple will have the best possible attraction inside, full of new info about the Titans lifestyle and diet (to be clear for comedic value he means like a health diet like the Titan was a keto nut or smthn) and stuff. Reluctant to leave but hoping to find a main attraction, Lilith goes on the adventure with him. They travel to the Titans skull and inside it's right eye socket they find a spiraling reverse-tower that goes deep into the ground. Exploring inside they find it's a bit of a labyrinth but Lilith is confident that she can lead them out with some landmarks she notes on the walls.
Not long into the reverse tower Lilith begins to lose hope about finding anything new and interesting that would draw in large crowds, as nothing about the tower seems to present anything new that they hadn't already found in Kings tower. Hooty begins to worry that their time together will be cut short and when looking down a long pit that presumably goes to the bottom of the tower he knocks off Liliths glasses then lies and says it was an accident. She begins to worry that she wont be able to find the way out without them and they agree to go down to the bottom of the pit. On the way down some of those fleshy guardian things begin to animate and Hooty has to guide Lilith into a saferoom where coincidentally the walls are covered in murals about Hooty and his past with the Titan (I'm not actually writing deep lore here, you decide what that past is lol).
Confronted by his past Hooty breaks down and Lilith comforts him, he admits that he lied about knowing what was inside the temple and knocking her glasses off, Lilith is upset but understanding and admits that she's been missing spending time with Hooty as well. They come to the compromise that Lilith will work healthier hours and that Hooty can be more honest with his feelings. They burst out of the room and with some of his memories about the temple returning to him he guides them down to the bottom of the pit safely, grabs Liliths glasses, and flies her out of there without her even having to use her landmarks.
When they get to the top he apologizes again and especially for having wasted her time "Sorry Lulu, we'll find something better for the museum." Lilith laughs and grabs his face, excitedly squishing it as she exclaims that when she got her glasses and was able to see again while they were escaping that the murals on the walls were exactly the kind of thing that she was looking for and they promise to return better prepared and more honest.
Cut a few weeks later to the opening of the museum, Eda Luz and King are standing dumfounded at the exhibit which reveals all of Hootys past with the Titan. The three of them look to the stoic and a little creepy pictures of the murals on display, then to Hooty as he does something silly goofy, then back to the murals. Luz mutters "Geez, what happened?" (in reference to why is he goofy now when) and the episode ends.

My Weight-Loss Journey
Over the last three decades, despite a relatively active lifestyle, my weight has steadily increased a pound or two per year. I could see it was becoming a problem every morning in my foggy bathroom mirror.
I finally realized that I had to do something about it last fall when I walked out onto my porch one morning. The neighbor's kitten came over to say good morning and got caught up in my gravitational field and went into orbit around my waistline.
It was then I started looking into different diets. Keto, Caveman, high fat, low carb, lima bean, Atkins. Holy crap! The number of different diet choices were staggering. Greater still were the numbers of dieticians and nutritionists shrieking that this diet is best and only a booger-eater would choose that diet.
After a bit of cogitation, I started researching the Carnivore diet.
It sounded right up my alley: eating nothing but meat, cheese, eggs, and dairy products, and drinking water. And I could eat bacon. Basically, I could eat anything that is animal-based.
The bacon thing sold it for me.
The week before Thanksgiving 2023 I started my new diet plan. You might think that dieting during the holidays wasn't a grand idea, and you'd be right. Eating nothing but meat while watching my family chowing down on traditional holiday meals (turkey and all the fixings for Thanksgiving, and ham and all the fixings for Christmas) and stuffing their faces with cookies and candy and pie and everything else associated with the holidays was as much fun as stuffing a cactus up my rectum.
But I stuck to it.
To this point in my life I had never been disciplined about anything related to food, but somewhere along the way I found the strength to keep anything not indicated by the diet out of my pie hole. (except coffee - I'll be cold, dead, and buried before I stop drinking coffee.)
And the weight came off. 3,4,5 pounds a week. It seemed to literally melting off me. My initial goal was 50 pounds by the end of February and then I'd transition to something more sustainable.
It wasn't easy, at times, especially during the first 2 or 3 weeks. I bought some bite-size sugar free candy to take the edge off for the times when I was jonesing for sugar. And I ate a ton of bacon.
By Christmas Eve I had lost 20.5 pounds. By January's close I had dropped 34 pounds. On January 8th, 2024 I got out of the shower and looked down and saw my penis without a mirror for the first time since about 2003. Also, I could see a six-pack peeking from behind what remains of my belly fat. As of this writing I'm down 39 Pounds. I have a few more days to go, but I don't think I will hit 50. But that's okay.
On March 1st I will start introducing fruits and veggies and whole grains to my diet. I intend to stay away from cane sugar and continue drinking only water.
There have been some negatives along the way. 1. I now abhor the sight of steak. 2. My dog won't stop licking my legs. 3. I have had to go out and buy essentially a new wardrobe.
What I've learned - coupled with portion control - is that 90% of weight loss happens in the kitchen, and the plain fact that bacon makes everything better.
Even though I didn't meet my first goal of 50, I intend to keep going until I've met my ultimate goal of 60. I know I can do it by the end of this year.
I don't know if this will work for everyone; I only relate what I did and what happened. Overall I feel great, I am sleeping great, and my spousal unit says I look better than I have since the beginning of the Clinton administration, although she wants to buy a new car so she may be playing me...

I'm not 100% sure what you're referring to. I'm assuming you're asking about what your body requires to function while still fasting. I'll go into a lot of detail regarding this since I feel like it's important. First of all I'd like to preface this by stating that everyone is different. Some people have deficiencies or immune issues or blood pressure.. the list goes on issues. Before even considering a fast, know your body and it's requirements. I would hate for someone to read anything I write and take my word for it and do something that harms them. I couldn't live that, so please do your research. Regarding what your body needs; if you're already a very thin person, don't fast. You have to understand that when you're eating, your body is burning calories for fuel. When you're not eating, it switches to burning fat. This is ketosis. A lot of the goal of a ketogenic diet is to switch the body over to burning fat for fuel. This is the biggest reason for why people have a really goddamn hard time the first few days of fasting or even starting keto. What people refer to as "keto-flu." It's your body protesting against your switching over to burning fat, when burning calories is so much easier and it's instant energy. Burning fat is a lot more work. So, if you're already thin, your body won't have much fat to burn through. What your body will do instead if burn through muscle and organ tissue. You REALLY do not want that. Bear in mind that even if you have fat deposits, muscle loss is likely to occur anyway, as your body may burn through muscle it thinks you don't necessarily have use for. If you go past a 36h fast, autophagy also begins to occur where your body starts to heal itself. I personally love this and have healed my acne scars through this. I had really bad acne scars and now I have maybe a couple I can see if I look reaaally closely. Putting that aside. You need hydration A LOT of water, and you need fasting minerals (electrolytes). These are mainly sodium, magnesium, and potassium. Now I personally just make snake juice at home, because I like control over what I put inside myself. Water=2L | Potassium chloride =1 tsp | Sodium chloride = 1/2 tsp | Sodium Bicarbonate = 1 tsp Magnesium Sulphate = 1/2 tsp Now it's up to a person to know how long they can fast and how long they should fast, however if you're planning an extended fast. I cannot stress enough to get a general check-up, get professional help during your fast if you can, and monitor your blood pressure and blood sugar levels. Some things I experienced through my many fasts has been throwing up by the way. Usually around day 7-14. I was able to fix this with a mixture of a table spoon of apple cider vinegar and pickle juice. I couldn't drink snake juice anymore, because it was too concentrated it made me feel ill. However the pickle juice had enough minerals to keep me satiated without being overwhelming and the apple cider vinegar balanced me out. No these do not break the fast. This is medically proven to aid with fasting, I didn't just come up with this btw. Also you may find yourself bloated with water as you lose weight and your body decides that it wants to fill the fat you lost with water. Potassium supplements can help with this. Just be careful with your dosage. Little goes a long way. You will pee A LOT. This is normal. You'll pee a lot in the beginning of your fast, as you drop water weight, especially when you got to bed. It slows down towards the middle when your body starts packing on the water. Potassium makes you start the hose again though. Anyway I hope this helps some people, gives some insight. Be careful. Take care of your bodies. Don't be stupid. I can do stupid things, but I try to be a self-aware and well informed idiot. That way I don't have anyone but myself to blame, because I know better.

I need to write these down before I forget them- just lil titbits of what I think would happen to and with him from living on 4546B for so long
It is most unlikely that he would simply be climbing up the mountains with his bare hands- as much as I acknowledge that this man is a feat of pure strength, I do struggle to believe that he can seriously scale the mountain island with his grubby mitts alone. I think that on the Alterra ship there was likely a few climbing harnesses, likely reserved for maintenance workers or the like, in a part of the ship that we cannot access in the game. As Ryley is essentially a janitor, he likely would have access to these. And when it comes to rope, this would likely be found in the same place. And more of a fun idea- what about if he had little spokes on the back of his heel made from stalker teeth that he could use to slide down slopes! Of course, he likely will need a climbing axe. This he could likely craft from various metal scraps and pipes.
The main hurdle I have with Ryley's improvements to his whole getup is that he needs to be aerodynamic, as he often has to do swimming. He normally wears a whole scuba kit with the rebreather/helmet etc... but if we were to say add useful accessories such as belts, built-in weapons, small pouches, etc.. then suddenly all of those aerodynamics are lost. Though more often he's in like a prawn suit/seamoth in the later-ish parts of the game, so this makes a bit of sense, as the introduction of exosuits and vehicles aligns with the introduction of new inventions and tools. Plus the area of 4546b he is on is a tropical climate, so everything has to be super lightweight and unobtrusive.
Now- considering his diet and lifestyle: Ryley lives on a 13-20% protein diet (considering that fish are 60-82% water and 1-20% fat) and that his daily doings are almost entirely swimming, which uses the entire body's worth of muscles, as well as retaining his breath AND scaling mountains, extreme heat, fighting off deadly creatures, traversing difficult landscapes, and surviving electrical shocks, radiation, overwhelming tropical climates, concussions, brain damage, a deadly bacterial infection, just to name a few. Essentially, he is built different. This means that he will be burning calories, and consequently fat, at an astronomically high pace. This man has to be utterly shredded. It is not until late-ish game that he *might* gain carbohydrate-based fuel (marblemelons and lantern fruit) so by living an INCREDIBLY protein-rich keto diet while practicing strenuous exercise, he is likely to gain muscle mass. AND considering that Ryley's PDA at the beginning of the game is completely reset, there are likely hundreds of blueprints missing that would have normally been on his PDA, seeing as the PDA system is one that houses all kinds of tools, both from Alterra and outside sources (Mongolians, sunbeam, etc...) he likely would have even more things to find and build that we, the player, might not be able to. I mean, take the large amount of Below Zero items that aren't in the original game! Goodness knows what's out there... and seeing as he is an engineer/janitor, he likely has experience in handiwork, so upcycling junk he finds is very likely in his DNA! I would imagine him living much like Maida, using bits of junk and handiwork to craft a lifestyle designed to survive the harshest conditions and defend against the worst of the worst.
And also- he most definitely made some panpipes to keep himself occupied, like imagine the soft whistle of panpipes echoing off the two mountains of the floating island at sunset... sweeeeeeet

not asking in bad faith but just because this type of post goes around radblr every so often & I feel like it does make a good point - do you have any opinions on the whole "veganism/vegetarianism being dangerous in for teenage girls/women who develop eating disorders around it" thing?
those posts piss me off. the vast majority of girls with EDs are omnivores, so should we say that an omnivorous diet induces EDs? or is it more likely that people with those conditions with use anything at their disposal to try to hide an ED? you see these same girls jump to keto, raw, juice cleanse, gluten free, carb free, fat free, sugar free, anything they can.
the big issue is the misunderstanding of vegan as a diet. it is an ethical belief that informs actions that happen to include changing diet to adhere to those beliefs. nothing more, nothing less, nothing about health. meat and dairy and eggs are the densest calorie, highest fat foods, so girls with ED are going to be more likely to view them as 'not allowed foods', but that has nothing to do with the ideology of veganism. you can tell the difference between veganism and ED eating when the pseudoscience, calorie restriction, low carb, etc. stuff comes out, and they also absolutely refuse to eat vegan 'unhealthy foods', like a slice of birthday cake, or a bean burger night.
rather than going 'well, they should be eating meat!', why is the solution not 'how do we address the common occurrence of eating disorders in teenage girls?' because they've had them long before veganism became mainstream. and personally, as someone that had near ED eating habits throughout my childhood and teen years due to autism, veganism has helped me eat more, enjoy my food more, and i'm the heaviest weight i've been since 16 because when your focus is on following ethics, then you, at least for me and a bunch o other vegan women i've talked to, begin to have a healthier relationship with food.
