How do you feel about the new voice actors for Camp Camp?

I...Really don't like them. Like Gwen, I don't know why the voice actor left, I know they say that the three got replaced for representation, but replacing Gwen makes LITERALLY NO SENSE since she's not even going to be in the new season!

And then for Max, I get it, again representation, but he's already such a character. Plus, Micheal still works for Rooster Teeth, so I feel like it would have worked better if he had at least done this episode, and THEN got replaced for the next season if they really had to, and they could say he went through puberty or something.

Nerris I can't really tell because she hardly spoke, but another issue I have with Gwen and Max's voice actors is that they sound like robots. It's like this is their first jobs voice acting.

I think for Max it's almost definitely because the new voice actor is TRYING to sound like Micheal, like really trying.....I don't think it's working.

Thoughts?

Tldr I don't think the VAs are necessarily bad and can be judged completely soley on this episode. Max new VA could do really well if he talked faster and tried less sounding just like Michael. Gwen sometimes sounds too nice and monotonous and sometimes nails annoyed and tired w shit gwen. Nerris sound definitely different but not bad when not scratchy. Recasting for representation reason is understandable but it threw everyone off w new voices after 4 seasons of getting used to these characters.

Edit: adding the video cos its crazy how it improved max talking at ×1.25 speed

Hmmm well first I always think most important thing of a VA is being able to be expressive as the character. And then ofc there's if you look at that character you think this VA goes well w it.

Tho think especially hard to get used to the new VA when we've heard them for 4 whole seasons. Also i think this episode writing was also kinda awkward w the way the characters speaking or not expect the characters to say. Like for max

"Excuse me! Another betrayal"

"Woooooooow"

"Hear that, they love it. What would they do without us"

Actually someone mentioned max is talking too slow which makes it sound more off just like w that last quote.

You know putting max at faster speed at ×1.25 he sounds good like in alot of them! I'm wondering if they slowed him down or the VA really did talk slowly; so weird (I'm not over it)

Even went back for gwen on some parts and she could also talk a lil faster to sound better.

I think for max you are in somewhat right he's trying hard to sound like max, but i think emotion wise he does have potential if he just well wasn't trying hard to mimic "usual max". You can hear it especially when max annoyed like

"Nothing, I'm having a great time"

"Neil what did she just tell you to do"

"You have no idea how depressing that is do you. Don't worry kid you'll be happy at some point"

So i think as you said if the new VA just stops trying hard to mimic Michel (probably as you said excuse w puberty) I think he'll turn out well. (And if he talked faster lol)

For gwen oddly enough tho slightly different I don't think the va necessarily bad, I think in part it's the volume, like idk her volume is oddly consistent; I want her to be louder when she's pissed lol. I'm going back and someone mentioned she's sounds "too nice" and i think ye it doesn't sound in character sometimes in the episode.

Tho if she's not coming back it is odd to recast (unless it's a trick and she is coming back lol).

Tho yes it would make sense to at least keep the old va before kicking the new season but then thinking irl it's been years and who knows what they doing.

The only reason we can see is they change for representation and not to appropriate. Alot of conterversy around this, but personally I think the VA should match w characters ethnicity. Tho it can be alot harder to do like here where you already had the va for awhile and just now changing since now expected to sound the same.

As for nerris going back she sounds soooo different. She only talked twice.

One when the trio sat w her and dolph: different but not bad. Tho not typical "nerdy/dorky" voice.

And when everyone made fun of david: that i think was trying to mimic nerris "nerdy" (?) voice which made it sound off.

Part 4 of This Might Be It For Tony (1, 2, 3)

Gif 2: Cut back to Adam on the bed, who slowly stands and walks towards Tony, still not reacting. The camera abruptly cuts to focus on Tony as Adam grabs Tony's face and kisses him on the mouth. Tony blinks once in shock and freezes with his eyes open, not moving. He is stunned.

Gif 3: Wide shot of Adam holding Tony with his hands cupped at his jaw as he kisses him. Tony is standing stiff with surprise and Adam is craning slightly to kiss him. Helene watches calmly from the side with her arms folded. Cut briefly to over Tony's shoulder, focus on Adam whose face is hidden behind Tony's head, then cut again to over Adam's shoulder, focus on Tony as Adam pulls back. Adam's hands are still cupping Tony's jaw and Tony looks only surprised for a moment before his brows knit in confusion, his eyes flicking between Adam's eyes and lips. He cannot process what just happened.

Gif 4: Cut to focus on Adam over Tony's shoulder, still holding Tony's face; he smiles at Tony with deep fondness, and lets his hands slide down to Tony's shoulders. The focus cuts to Tony over Adam's shoulder as Tony shifts on his feet a little, and Adam's hands slide off his shoulders. He licks his lips and looks at a loss for words.

Gif 5: Tony can't decide where to look, moving from Adam's chest to his eyes, down to his lips and to his eyes again. He is clearly flustered, and after a pause says "Thank you." He nods slightly and swallows, finally turning his head to look to the side. He hollows his cheeks and looks at the ceiling as if looking for inspiration on what to say. His words are written on the bottom in white.

Gif 6: Cut to Focus on Adam over Tony's shoulder. He is still smiling fondly, but as Tony starts to speak he makes a 'of course' face and looks to the side slightly, his hands moving to his hips. Tony, after a pause, is still looking to the side but brings his hand to his nose to rub in a considering, nervous tick. He says "The kitchen may be in good hands but, uh..." His words are in white along the bottom.

Gif 7: Cut to focus on Tony over Adam's shoulder as he continues speaking. He tries to look at Adam but can't seem to bring himself to, looks to Helene (out of frame) once before settling on the middle distance he started from. He says "Kaitlin can't handle the front of the house. She's got beautiful legs but, uh..." and pauses while shaking his head to himself. His words are on the bottom in white.

Gif 8: Tony finishes his sentence, turning out a little more towards Helene (out of frame) but not looking at her, and turns back towards Adam while nodding decisively. He tries to look him in the eyes but can't quite manage it, looking quickly away towards the window and licking his lips. On the bottom in white it reads "she's not very useful on the phone."

Gif 9: Focus on Adam over Tony's shoulder as Tony nods to himself and turns to move towards the door. Adam is still smiling fondly, and tracks Tony's movement with his head.

Gif 10: A wide shot, Adam in the background, as Tony walks over to Helene who standing with her arms crossed. He stops to speak to her and she listens attentively. The camera cuts halfway through to just the two of them, Helene nodding when Tony finishes with a small, genuine, smile. "Stay here and make sure this idiot doesn't have a concussion." is written in white along the bottom.

Minor Characters in Brooke’s Series

-Kaitlin Borden: an 18 year old that babysits Brooke and her siblings during the events of Meet Brooke, she is attending Pierre’s School of Cosmetology. At the moment, she is recovering from two cracked ribs due to attending the infamously badly handled Woodstock ‘99 festival. -Ms. Carole Breault-the grandmother of Brooke’s friend Alicia,she works at Cyro as a boss. Even when she wants to watch ‘her stories’ (soap operas),she’ll let her grandkids and their friends play Super Nintendo instead. Has a bit of a dry sense of humor. -Mr. Bussiere: a 6th grade teacher at Willard. Brooke has a grudge against him due to him thinking that she was having a Tourette’s fit on purpose. -Mrs. Robin Donarumo-a neighbor of the Meyers, she has her own business making balloon arches for special events such as weddings. Seems to have a huge amount of patience,especially when it comes to her only child Kailee. -Mrs. Jones: Brooke and her brother Austin’s 4th grade teacher. She isn’t too amused when Brooke sings the song Mr. Jones by Counting Crows after introducing herself. Other than that,Brooke enjoys having her as a teacher. -Ms. Margaret Maurais: the 3rd grade teacher of Brooke’s brother Christopher,as well as Brooke and her siblings before her. She works at Margaret Chase Smith Elementary,a grades K-3 school. Many of her students speak highly of her. -Dr. Pierce: a doctor at Goodall Hospital, he sees Brooke’s brother Jake during the events of Happy Y2K,Brooke, when Brooke accidentally cracks three of Jake’s ribs while the two were using Socker Boppers. -Mr. Charles Potter: the principal at Willard School. He is mostly seen during the events of Brooke’s New School, when he tries to calm the girl down when she’s accused of acting up on purpose. -Mr. Christopher Ridge: Jake and his twin brother Stephen’s 5th grade teacher. Parents and students either love him or hate him. Brooke becomes one of Mr. Ridge’s students by the end of her fifth book. -Ned Shanahan: a new kid from Australia,he’s in Jake’s 5th grade class. Brooke seems enamored with what he has to say about his home country,such as the wildlife being largely dangerous and lethal,as well as how you can get ice pops at the school canteen (cafeteria) or a Sunny Boy to beat the infamous Australian heat. His favorite snacks from his home country are the Polly Waffle,Fairy Bread,strawberry & lemon Calippo Shots,and Vegemite Snackabouts.
