Juvia's Place The Saharan Palette Review & Swatches
Juvia’s Place The Saharan Palette Review & Swatches
I had fun taking a break last week with the Jeffree Star Cosmetics Blood Sugar palette, but we’re back to going through all of the Juvia’s Place eyeshadow palettes. Today I’m going to be going over The Saharan palette which was inspired by the spirit and vibrance of the Fulani culture. And contains 12 with 4 mattes and 8 metallic/satin shadows. Unlike other Juvia’s Place palettes previously…

It’s been awhile since I’ve done a 100% affordable makeup look.  I was super happy with how this one turned out and I wish I had had somewhere to wear it!  I had a friend ask me if I wore makeup everyday because of my blog…. The complete opposite is the case.  I just wear skincare to work on a day to day basis.  On occasion I put on mascara that I keep in my car if I have a meeting or some part of the day planned where people look at me.  I also swear by Dr. Jart Cicapair Tiger Grass SPF 30 Cream for days where I have a breakout- it dulls redness like a charm but doesn’t loo.  Two or three nights per week after I get home from work I do makeup and take pictures for blog posts.
It’s weird how social media can portray something that is so far from how things really are! I wish I had the time to workout in the morning and then get super glam for work, but that’s just not my life.
Not wearing makeup to work gives my skin lots of help staying clear and I don’t go through products very quickly.  When I used to put on makeup for work I HATED not having time to do it well. Only having 15 to 20 minutes to get ready guaranteed I wasn’t going to have time to have my makeup turn out how I wanted, which put a damper on my day.  Being free from that issue is amazing.

Complexion | RIMMEL lasting finish foundation, MAYBELLINE master conceal cream contour, NYX concealer, COTY airspun powder, MAYBELLINE fit me powder, MILANI bronzer, LOOXI creme de la creme highlight, HERITAGE rose water glycerin setting spray
Eye | JUVIA’S PLACE Saharan palette (joya, katsina, chad) ESSENCE glam metals eyeshadow, SEPHORA COLLECTION colorful shadow liner pencil, LOREAL miss manga rock mascara, KOKO Stella lashes
Brow| COLOURPOP arched auburn brow color, LOREAL brow stylist plumper
Lip | MAYBELLINE peach buff lipstick, NYX ever liner
Pink lips seem to give the appearance of a healthy glow, which is why I went with Maybelline Peach Buff. Sometimes colors like this pull orange or clownish on me, but I like this one.  I used Milani baked bronzer soleil as a blush to make sure pink cheeks weren’t competing with the lip.  I’m still working on getting the pink lip look down, this was definitely different for me.

Welcome back to our Instagram palette series! This series has been fun and challenging, because it forces me to try to be more creative in my day-to-day looks, without doing the same thing every day. And the Juvia’s Place Saharan Palette was surprisingly versatile. And the colors are so beautiful that it truly was a joy to use every day.
This slideshow requires JavaScript.
Review of the Saharan Palette ($25): For only $25, you can get some of the most pigmented, beautiful shadows I have ever seen! There are plenty of colors for pretty warm-toned looks, especially fun pink shades that are surprisingly wearable. I loved the bronze-y shades that I wore on Friday, But I just loved how I basically had a different statement eye look almost every day, and it was so easy to use. The only thing this palette lacks is a shade to set my primer but that’s never a big deal to me – I just use a setting powder to set my primer.
If you have $25 and you love eye shadow, I would buy this asap! Don’t forget to use an influencer’s code to bring the price down even more!
And up next week… my brand new Colourpop I Think I Love You palette! (And as of this writing, it’s not sold out!)
I mean, first of all, it’s pretty as hell! That copper-y rose gold-y goodness! Aaack. Best of all? This palette is only $16.
I love a good bronze-y eye and I couldn’t resist this. Yes, it’s possible I have some of these shades in other palettes – I think most people who love makeup might. But I don’t have them all together like this. So I needed it, obvious. And for $16? DONE.
So get ready for a bunch of bronze-y warm toned good ness next week! I’m going to try to make them as creative as possible, so stay tuned to our Instagram page to see what I come up with!

Calling August a busy month would be an understatement! My wonderful best friend, Tiara, recently introduced me to her lovely hair stylist Tiana who was in need of a Makeup Artist for her salon. We met up soon after and within a week I was moving my kit into her salon, VBT Beaute Emporium. Crazy, right?!

Review: Juvia's Place Saharan Blush Palette Vol. I & Masquerade Eyeshadow Palette (With Swatches)
Review: Juvia’s Place Saharan Blush Palette Vol. I & Masquerade Eyeshadow Palette (With Swatches)
Juvia’s Place has certainly made a name for themselves in the beauty industry as more than just an Indie makeup brand. After falling in love with the Nubian Eyeshadow Palette from Juvia’s Place last year (see review here), I knew I had to buy more! One look at the bright, shimmery colours of the Masquerade palette and I knew that would be my next purchase. Then, I saw the Saharan blus palettes…

Juvia’s Place Saharan Blush Palette Vol. I & II Review
Juvia’s Place is a relatively new cosmetic brand that has taken social media by storm. Literally, everyone from top beauty influencers like Nikkie Tutorials to the average consumer has been raving about this company. Naturally, I wanted to see what the hype was about. So when Juvia’s Place introduced the Saharan Blush Palette vol. 1 & 2, I knew I had to get my hands on them. Are the new Juvia’s…

Next up in the Juvia’s Place eyeshadow palette try out is The Saharan II. This palette contains 9 shadow with a mixture of metallic, duo chromes, and matte shades that were inspired by the rich colors in Moroccan spices, herbs, cities, and rich patterns. Like the other palettes in their collection this one costs $20. This palette is also vegan so I don’t know remember if it’s on the packaging that this palette came it as I got rid of it, but vegan red tones can dye the skin due to the dye/pigment in the shadow.
All of the shades in the palette are stunning but a great range from vibrant or more neutral looks. Though I have not done a neutral look as I like the vibrant tones from this palette. Like some of the other palettes from Juvia’s Place, they are larger with 3.6 grams of product in each pan. However, it’s not the smallest palette even though it only has 9 shadows so it’s not the best for traveling. It can be done but it is bigger than a Colourpop 9-pan palette. I haven’t mentioned it in previous reviews but all of their palettes have stunning illustrations and are made of a sturdy cardboard.
Like the other palettes the mattes are insanely pigmented and take a hot minute to blend. But they still look stunning on the lids, as long as you use a packing brush. And yes, I actually remembered to use a blending brush for the brush swatches this time since that’s the best for these matte shades. The metallics and duo-chrome shadows are buttery like the other palettes. I seriously am still blown away with the quality of these palettes and I can’t wait to play with the rest.
Shade Descriptions:
Marrakesh (shimmer golden peach)
Aziza (shimmer medallion)
Hadiya (shimmer rust)
Berber (shimmer french blue)
Nomad (shimmer maroon)
Chefchaouen (shimmer turquoise)
Fez (matte sienna)
Zohra (matte sangria)
Taza (natte gingerbread)
Swatches
Finger Swatches
Brush Swatches using a fluffy angled brush (Luxie 207 – Medium Angled Shading Brush)
The metallics and duo-chromes don’t look the best with the fluffy brush, but you can see the mattes perform better with this style of brush unlike the packing brush. If you want to see how that generally goes with this formula check out one of my previous two Juvia’s Place reviews: The Nubian 2 or The Warrior palette.
Looks
This look was made using almost every single shadow in the palette including two of the ColourPop Supernova liquid shadows: Dragon and LOML. I think the only shade not used in this look was Hadiya. Maybe was a bit much for Thanksgiving but I still loved it. I also used the Azeredo Cosmetics false lashes in the style Hollywood (use code MAE10 for 10% off).
Here was the second look from this palette. Not a major fan of my hair, but that has nothing to do with the makeup. For this look I used the shades: Marrakson, Aziza, Hadiya, Nomad, Fez, Zohra, and Taza. Which is a similar look to the look I did with The Nubian 2 palette, but more vibrant and not having blue shade underneath. I mainly just wanted to use the shade I didn’t use the previous day, so I ended up doing this staple halo look.
Love ya,
Mae Polzine

Juvia's Place Saharan Blush Palette Volume I Swatches
Juvia’s Place Saharan Blush Palette Volume I Swatches
Juvia’s Place randomly dropped 2 new blush palettes on us last month and the makeup world spontaneously combusted! Okay, it wasn’t that massive of a launch. But it was still a huge deal because now we get matching blushes, highlighter and bronzer to pair with our favorite Juvia’s Place eyeshadow palettes like Masquerade. When I first saw the announcement, I squealed out loud like a true fan girl…
