If someone said to Gina Draw me a picture of Abundance, she would’ve drawn three words on neon sign.
Blue Claw Diner
You couldn’t throw a bagel without hitting a diner on Long Island, but here in Blue Claw, in the crotch of Paumanok, was the most miraculous specimen of them all. Twelve different cakes and pies floated in dreamy circles in their rotating display case. Silver streamlined, railway-car slim, the building was wedged on the corner of Midway Street, and those narrow quarters stocked enough ingredients to maintain a twenty-four-page menu.

Hello people of tumblr! :)
I am not used to using this app but I thought i would give it a shot as the fandom works featured here are straight up the best things i've found on the internet, and the community seems just AMAZING on all regards!!! So I thought, yk, that I would share my ideas for this AU fic that perhaps maybe I would write sometimes...... idk....
Actor Bucky x Model Buck
Set in the 90s, this AU follows this rough outline : despite the 90s being a time of counterculture for the youth, (grunge, alternative movies being pushed forward and towards larger audiences) and being out of the 80s and all it entails (glam rock and so on) there was this paradoxally reinforced idea of masculinity (leather jackets, men having to be "strong", etc.) and lattent ideas of homosexuality being a "bad, filthy thing" in some places, interlinked with the misinformations concerning the HIV epidemic (if you're gay, you'll get AIDS, you'll die in a few months, all this stuff), which causes the Bucks have to hide their relationship from the public in fear of retaliation and backlash.
Buck is a male model, in a decade in which supermodels are emerging, and put on a pedestal : it's a decent job for him, despite not being a Claudia Schiffer or a Kate Moss (as female models, especially in that decade, were getting paid way more than male models, and overall just represented couture houses more than men did.). People know his face, he's had a few campaigns, but it's not enough to make him one of the A-list celebrities, not that he minds. He's slimmer than what is the norm for male models, but compensates it with his face : it is his strength as much as his weakness concerning bookings. He is known by his peers as this wise and generally kind man, not overly flairy as people can sometimes be in their industry, and overall very discreet about his personal life. He is extremely professional, a master of his craft that knows exactly what is expected of him at any time.
Bucky, on the other hand, is an actor. Freshly discovered among the rest of a new generation of actors, he climbs steadily and surely his way to the top, and has people from all over the USA watching his career with interest. He acts in movies which in our timeline would feel like "The Matrix" ; "Trainspotting" ; "Fight Club", and all of those sorts of very "mainstream yet still posessing their bit a flair" movies. He's extending his choices and taking more risks, ones that could perhaps lead him to great rewards (not that he is especially looking for it : Bucky would be content to act in a short movie by a middle schooler if it was done with love and passion.) Charming, bubbly, he is loved by many of teenage girls (and others, ofc :p). Everyone has a story about Bucky, be it good or bad. "Oh yeah, he bought me a car when mine broke down" says a make-up artist on a set. "He got so drunk he forgot I was here and punched me square in the face when i got up to pee" says his friend Curt Biddick.
Tumblr media
(i made an ugly ass moodboard for the vibes)
-> now i'm gonna dump random infos for no particular reasons
TW : mentions of drugs, alcohol, homophobic cliches.
-They met at a party/gala of some sort for a brand, for which Buck modeled and Bucky was ambassador : it didn't click right away, but closely enough for it to feel like fate played a part in it.
-Buck is kind of excluded during parties as he's fully sober, whether it's from drugs or alcohol : a rarity, in the modeling world, and often not a welcome one.
-Bucky on the other hand, is a bit too much of a party monster : he drinks a lot, perhaps snorts a little cocaine in the bathroom, takes a little speed... Which GREATLY concerns Buck.
-Bucky is as cocky in his confidence and his career as he fears (and represses A LOT) the possibility of everything tumbling down and just going back to being nobody (THIS MAN NEEDS TO BE LOVED BY EVERYONE)
-He's terrified that fame will change him, that he will become a parody version of himself, that people will only know and like the version of himself he presents them and nothing else, not seeing his worth as a person, as an individual of flesh and feelings.
-Between the two of them, he's the one who desperately wants to tell the general audience about their relationship, not caring about the consequences, because in his eyes, love is love, and there sure as hell ain't nothing wrong with loving Gale Cleven, and people should know that he loves him, that they love each other, that they're a pair, that life only ever feels complete when they stand side by side, hanging in each other's orbits. They sometimes argue over this.
-Buck, on the other hand, wishes for their relationship to stay a secret, as he fears if it was to be known, it would taint Bucky's image, this very manly, confident and suave man, mingle it with dumb cliches (in a gay couple one is a "Folle" and the other has to be effeminate, because they're like GIRLS yk) and that it would basically ruin his career, tarnish his talent and hard work, get him blacklisted from most studios/directors and only perhaps offered type-casted roles in homophobic movies written by straight men. Buck could not stand seeing the love of his life being disgraced in the public's eyes, just because of some dumbass cliches, because of his love for him.
-Marjorie (Marge) covers for Buck. She's his front : They are seen dining together and huddling on benches by paparazzis, giggling and talking as they walk in the street, and that's enough. Their story makes people dream, these two young people who grew up together and fell in love, still a couple until this day, still loving each other as much as they did on the first day... They are a lavender couple (when both member of a relationship are queer, and use their couple to cover any suspicions) which helps making Buck and Bucky seem like just buddies. Marjorie is most likely not famous, or if so, she'd be more of a writer than anything else.
-Bucky is EXTREMELY jealous and FUMES whenever he cannot kiss Buck in public, touch him, do his little Bucky things, make Buck feel his. Despite that, he's sort of reckless and allows himself gestures that would not fly were the two men not viewed as pinacle of masculinity and a great example of brotherly love. Buck can't even bring himself to ressent him for it, and does not hold it against him : he too wishes they could hold hands on red carpets.
-Bucky is basically a disaster waiting to happen at some point, a pressure cooker dangerously whistling : he bottles everything he feels, just grits his teeth and says he's fine when dark times arise, drowns himself in alcohol and wishes to forget about his worries, thinks about simpler times when he had none at all. Gale stays by his side, no matter what, no matter his terrifying relationship with alcohol and the memories of his father.
-They live together, despite the risks : Buck couldn't bear having to say no to Bucky when he bought their appartment with a huge check from the royalties he earned over his first blockbuster. It is approprietly cozy : most of the decorum is Buck's doing, but Bucky's things still find their ways in there ; baseball posters, pictures, awards and silly little drawings on stick-it notes... It feels like home, to both of them.
-They probably have bought some sort of ranch or farm, somewhere, to run away from the city when things get crazy : they bask reverently in the fact that there, nothing they do or say matters, watching the sunsets on their patios, enjoying the melody of nature without any civilization.
That's pretty much it for now, I'll most likely add things later! :D I'm begging you to excuse any mistake I made, i'm just a poor French person trying her best. Don't hesitate to tell me how you feel and stuff, I am so nervous to make this post you can't imagine lmaoo
To end things, I guess I'll just post an extract of a wip, a written transcription of a fake interview Bucky probably had on some talk show!!! :]

AITA for trying to make my daughters stars?
I (40sF) have two daughters, J and L (both young women). All their lives, I wanted them to be stars! I needed an agent, and all I needed was 88 bucks, but my Papa wouldn’t give it to me! So I decided that I would make them stars myself, and I met my dear H (40sM) soon after.
With H’s help, I started a beautiful act with J! She was so close to being a star, and she was absolutely perfect!
…That is, until she decided to run off with one of the boys from her act and left me here!
That’s alright. I still had L. And I tried to make L a star, but she just wasn’t as good as her little sister. We couldn’t get booked anywhere except a burlesque club, and we decided to take the job. Turns out L has a real flair for this business, and she ran off too to become one of the world’s most legendary burlesque artists! But she doesn’t talk to me anymore, and H left me after I pushed L to do that first job! All I wanted was for my girls to be stars! Was that so wrong of me? AITA?

End of September, at the "Dead End Café" after closing.

Tomoya: Cheers~♪ Good job, everybody.
Since the opening event wasn't too long ago, I was a bit worried about the success of this event too.
I'm glad this event went as well as the last one. Thanks to the new members, Aoba-senpai and Harukawa ♪
Tsumugi: Fufu. I'm thankful for Anzu-chan's leadership and fortunate timing~
The concept of this café is that a girl wanders into the "world of the dead" and is served by dead waiters—
I was asked to serve as a "Magician of the Dead". Luckily, Sora-kun and I had some free time in our schedules.
It's a pity that only Natsume-kun couldn't join us because of his work.
I'm sure he wanted to be here. This morning, he said to me, "It's not Fair that you get to work with Wataru-niisan."
Sora: HaHa~♪ Didn't Shishou sneak into the café?
Tsumugi: Eh, really?!

Looks like they've already left... We have no choice but to eat them ourselves.
Tomoya: I see. I'll go get a knife and plates for everyone!
Tsumugi: Thank you very much. Hehe, Mashiro-kun is such a nice and thoughtful boy.
Shinobu: Speaking of thoughtfulness, Mayoi-dono really shone today, de gozaru.
Although your main role was behind the scenes, you occasionally came forward and engaged with the customers, right?
Mayoi: D-Did you see it?
That was, well, um, it seemed like there weren't enough servers, so... Uuu, how shameful.
Shinobu: It is nothing to be ashamed of. I, for one, am impressed by your growth, de gozaru.

— BIOGRAPHY
bio  - tw mentions of robbery, gambling, fighting.
Ezel was born as an only child to Asli Demerci her father wasn’t in the picture and she couldn’t remember anything about him. Her mother didn’t bother to mention any detail of who he was or if he cared to get to know his family. Her mother settled to live in Los Angeles, California. As a child, she was one to take initiative, she liked to be adventurous. Which often led her to do some daredevil things. She was one to be confident in everything she did. She was in control of herself, and no one else. Throughout her childhood, her mother really was the only example she had as a parental figure. The relationship was not the typical mother-daughter love that one would expect. It was more of a business, nothing personal. Ezel was taught and raised to be whatever her mother sought her to be. In this case, a treasure, a flower, or a prize to be placed on the highest pedestal. Her mother made sure that Ezel excelled in all subjects in high school, she made sure her name was known. Asli taught Ezel that you can get anything you want if you set your mind on it. Everything in life was handed, it was about taking without giving in return.
One could say her mother was a bit of a con artist or rather used her charm as a scammer and made her way up to the finer things in life. Thus providing Ezel with a way of living. This didn’t leave room for things such as love, comfort, and safety–all things a daughter had in connection with a mother, but unfortunately, it only made the hole in her heart black. The beautiful girl grew up to be distant, unempathetic, and unapologetic. Turning to the people surrounding her as she aged, to be examples of what one shouldn’t be. Had her play pretend and blend into society, after all, that is what her mother wanted.
In a way, this made her dangerous because she has a temper that one wouldn’t want to see on a bad day. At the age of twenty, Ezel had come to learn that life is what one made of it. She wasn’t really taught how to defend herself or fight, plus she didn’t grow up with any protection at all. She protected herself. So she would hang with the wrong crowd, often entering an underground club that dealt with gambling, money, and fighting. a gal had to make a profit right? here she was taught defense with extra flair. Her nights spent do activities as such, she then picked up a habit of pick pocketing.
It wasn’t until a dark stormy night, that she had come home to ruins of her family home, broken glass. The sounds of someone breaking in. luckily, she caught them. now she could have easily turned them in, but she interrogated them.
Whether it was the right place or time, she somehow formed a friendship with the person who would have robbed her mother. That was how she was introduced into the world of thievery. Plus with her background in knowing how to charm others by fooling them, she could easily take things. She managed to form a friendship of sorts, knowing the right people which led her to New York. Under the disguise of a bartender of course, she gathers information that may be used in her favor.
— WANTED CONNECTIONS / PLOTS
Frenemies - you get on each other nerves, may want to fight or do the complete opposite. Bartenders - Fellow people that she works with. Information - people she gathers intel from, and exchanges information with. Annoyance - someone she finds annoying and can't stand. crush - someone who may crush on her.
PERSONALITY
She has grown up all her life learning how to blend into society, and she never really showed her true self. It was always about the finer things, people always discussed names and titles, and she pretended for most of it all. She has a hard exterior and rarely shows a kind caring personality. However, she does like adding a bit of a flare in what she does because she’s dramatic. However, she won’t tolerate any disrespect, to herself or fellow bartenders. She is known for making things fun, parties, decorations, and events. She’ll be the first to go all out.

A lot was at stake when the only time separating your identity from the world is a theatrical mask.
Still, Emma wouldn't trade this life for the world. Growing up, she aspired to be a hero, only to be torn down by peers and adults alike who said a Quirk like hers wasn't suited for heroics. A girl like her should use her Quirk, pretty face, and harmonic voice for more artistic pursuits, like a career in theater. It was only taken further when she was scouted to become an idol. She enjoyed being an idol for the most part, but she didn't feel like she was doing enough good for society by wearing colorful clothes and prancing on a stage.
When she applied to U.A. in hopes of getting into their Heroics Department, the lack of physical power in her Quirk stuck her in the General Studies department instead. More disgruntled than ever, her interest was only piqued once again when she heard a rumor that those in General Studies who did well enough in the Sports Festival may be considered for Heroics.
She did her best, but still missed the mark. Strike three.
Which is why she's here now, taking the law into her own hands by becoming a Vigilante by night. People did illegal stuff every day, if she was doing it for good, then what difference did it make? That's how she justified it, anyway.
Purse snatchers, petty theft, back-alley deals, all was fair game. She took care of it with anonymity and flair, then left as quickly as she came. Her showy personality made her a popular persona in online circles, but as far as the law and heroes were concerned, she was still a criminal. That's fine, as long as her face was never shown.
Tonight was a bit more difficult than usual, the physical advantage of this guy's Quirk was giving her a lot of trouble, but the vigilante Eyecatcher wasn't deterred, she had a job to do and she wasn't about to give up because of a strength difference.
... though, she should have been more conscious about the noise they were making, lest it attract attention from a wandering hero.

Okay, you have my attention…
Testing the waters...
The first few messages Inga and I exchanged were hosted on the dating site. I was keen to abandon the use of the site as a go-between largely because I was suspicious about with whom I may actually be communicating. There were certainly no lack of anecdotes regarding men who believed that they were communicating with the girl of their dreams only to discover the objects of their affection were actually apparitions conjured by the site hosts to continue the "pay for play" paradigm. One could fairly argue that my desire to continue communicating with Inga through another method starkly betrayed my ignorance as to how some scams actually operate.
(As a reader, you may want to hold onto that concept of a scam as it reemerges as a theme.)
Still, I made the suggestion that we communicate directly, via email. Inga was receptive to the idea and addresses were subsequently exchanged.
After writing my first email to Inga I was eager for a reply. I was definitely drawn to her in a way I could not fully explain at the time. Yes, she was young and attractive and portrayed herself as having a bohemian spirit. From the few thoughts she shared to that point, she described herself as a reader with liberal views and an artistic flair. She longed for travel and the stimulation of places and cultures apart from her day to day in the cold and dark corner of northwest Russia. It seems that as I describe these aspects of Inga, you are owed a more formal introduction. Keep in mind as you view this sketch I now draw, revisions will most decidedly be offered. Within a previous post I provided a brief description of Inga. Here are some additional details for you to consider as we move through the arc of the story.
Is this Inga?
Inga was fond of describing herself as a "dwarf". In fact, she stands about 152 cm in height. She was preoccupied with her weight and struggled with her body image as a consequence of her pregnancy. If she was not actively dieting, she was planning a diet. Not unlike many Russian women, appearance was very important, even when managing the most mundane of tasks which took her out of her home. Make-up and stylish dress were the utmost of importance.
More personally, she described herself as being fiercely independent from the age of 18, when she took a job in a casino. Apparently these were legal in Russia, at the time, but have since fallen from government favor. Inga described her efforts to complete school, where she was studying art and design. Inga was from a family which includes two sisters and a brother, all her senior.
Her parents separated and her mother was her primary caregiver as she grew up. She described her father as an alcoholic and a burden to her mother. According to her memories, her father was often verbally abusive to everyone in the household before his resulting departure.
At some point after finishing university, she moved to Sochi and enjoyed her time in the warmer climate of the south of Russia. It was in Sochi where she described a relationship which led to her pregnancy and the birth of her daughter, Eva. It was on this topic that Inga refused to provide much detail other than to reject the idea that marriage was ever a consideration. She talked about Eva's father as being only involved in the life of his daughter from a distance. Inga talked about her eventual move back to Pskov as a necessity born out for the need for familial support.
Boarding the slow moving train to Crazy Town
With both Inga and I embracing the idea of email communication, we eventually began writing to one another with more and more frequency. I should digress just a bit here and add that I was not actually enthusiastic about emailing. I had hoped for text messaging coupled with an occasional telephone call. However, it may become evident why email was the medium.
What started with a message or two a day quickly gained momentum until easily 20 email were exchanged in the course of a single day. From my perspective, this had the feeling of a blossoming relationship. Inga could be witty and comically acerbic. I became more interested in the welfare of both Inga and Eva and began looking for little ways to be helpful. Initially this took the form of helping with a birthday gift for Eva who was to be a 5-year-old. Inga wrote about the difficulties putting a party together because of her work demands and the relatively low salary she was earning at the time. From this seemingly innocent gesture I eagerly offered to send all manner of gifts from the USA to Russia.
It was these efforts which raised my first suspicions that there was more beneath the surface.

Cool Girls Making Cool Sh*t
Since being on the Instagram, it has had its ups and downs as a creative platform. Its developed personalities that were born on the likes of MySpace and Buzznet into full fledged entrepreneurs over the matter of a decade in the information age. I wanted take this moment to pay my respects to some of my favorite creators and designers out there making things and working the work. [PART 1]
1) Tiny Thunder Design
Tumblr media
I first discovered this eclectic table of jewelry trinkets in Seattle at a market full of creators called the Bad Will Market. This gal Phoebe makes most, if not all, of her inventory, which is pretty spectacular since her Etsy store runs about 300+ items, from mainly jewelry to random vintage clothing. What I love about her items is that you can find anything from: pizza slice earrings, witchy crescent moons, crystals and resin pendant necklace with many pop culture references. If your a fan of 90s cult classics like Twin Peaks, Jurassic Park, anything grunge or Pacific Northwest related. Give her a follow!
2) Jini And Tonic
Tumblr media
While I was wandering the streets of Logan Square, a neighborhood of Northwest Chicago, my friend who so graciously hosted me, showed me this lonely storefront called Flair. Inside was a small vintage round rack and a whole wall of enamel pins, sassy greeting cards and patches. Twin Peaks seems to come up A LOT in this blog, well anytime and of course there were some pins reminiscent of the Log Lady and Agent Dale Cooper speaking with Diane. The brand: Jini and Tonic perfectly meshes cult classic phenomena into wearable art. While some are pop culture references, a lot of designs played satirical keys of today's wild politico world. The storefront has since closed due to lack of foot traffic in the area, however you can find her pins at various shops, pop-up markets in and around Chicago and of course online: Jini And Tonic.
3) Tesseomancer: Art By Tessa Tigges
Tumblr media
About a year into being a Vegas resident, I got a serving job at a cool place inside the Hard Rock Hotel. The girl who trained me happens to be a talented artist! She quickly left the desert life and is now based in Los Angeles. Her style is beautifully haunting and gothic just like her artwork. With intricate line work, her art features various desert-scape scenes, blended with all seeing eyes and alchemical symbolism. She pays homage to her Arizona origins with images of saguaro cacti, agave and other desert flora and fauna. Currently, she is sold out of most of her art work, but offers various housewares, like tote bags and mugs that feature her illustrations. You can find art by Tessa at Tasseomancer online and peep her Instagram for pop up markets. [Update: @Tasseomancer_candles on IG]
4) Hunt & Orchard
Tumblr media
I have been following these two best friends for a few years now. Shining on through the downfall of their previous brand Gypsy Warrior, Nicla DiCosmo and Michel Bezoza started their more jewelry focused brand: Hunt & Orchard which offers new and vintage jewelry, talismans, accessories and manifestation kits. What I love about them is their branding. They are constantly updating their inventory as they find vintage pendants, rings and gem stones. From having so much success with Gypsy Warrior, they have kept strong relationships with their clientele, major plus if your developing a new e-commerce shop. Brands that manage to keep and grow their customers from a previous endeavor to a new project are doing it right. Hunt and Orchard periodically hold contests and flash sales, so give them a follow! I've been lucky to score from time to time.
More to come in part deaux! I've found so many lovely ladies that create works of art in their own mediums, or multi-versatile (made up word?) mediums, since this blog last post... which was YEARS AGO.

Looking at Cardi B in a Larger Cultural Context
Tumblr media
In my blog post, I will be analyzing Cardi B because she is such an interesting person, and while some may just view her as a raunchy stripper-turned rapper who shamelessly flaunts her WAP, I see her as an inspirational character that has impacted sex culture, feminist culture, and POC culture. I believe it can also be safely said that Cardi B is currently an easily recognizable culture figure of the past 10 years through her chart-topping and Grammy-awarding music and unfiltered bold personality.
Looking at how Cardi B first rose to fame, it’s already pretty unprecedented that she was first working as a stripper before starting her music career. This is interesting because stripping is not considered a “real” or socially acceptable job for women. They are constantly disrespected in the field and objectified. However Cardi B saw her stripping job as the job that “...was positive for her life in many ways: ‘It really saved me from a lot of things. When I started stripping I went back to school.’ She has stated that she became a stripper to escape poverty and domestic violence, having been in an abusive relationship at the time after being kicked out of her mother's house, and that stripping was her only way to earn enough money to escape the situation and get an education”.
I think this helped re-form the public view of the sex industry because it shows that stripping is not a job that should be looked down upon. I think this helps strippers feel less ashamed about themselves and for others to look at them more as equals because of Cardi B’s confidence and positive view toward her experience. In fact, to add as a contrast, Cardi B was also affiliated with a gang, the Bloods, when she was in high school and she actually does not have a positive view on that experience and does not recommend it for anyone. Therefore, I think that she has made an influence on sex culture, specifically on the sex industry through her public view of stripping as the experience that changed her life for the positive, and hopefully she inspires other women in the industry as well, because she has demonstrated that she was able to achieve her dreams and transition from a stripper to a world-famous rapper.
Cardi B also impacted sex culture with her open sex-positive messages and sexual expression in her music. The most common example everyone can think is WAP, which is already, with the title almost screaming right in your face, as raunchy as it could get. However with WAP’s debut as #1 on multiple charts and winning many awards as well, it proudly promotes Cardi B’s, as well as the featuring artist, Megan Thee Stallion’s control of their own sexuality and prowess and celebrating their womanhood. With the all-female collaboration on top of that in the music video with features of Kylie Jenner, Rosalia, Normani, Latto, and other female artists/sex symbols, the song really unites women to not be afraid to express themselves.

Cardi B has not only impacted sex culture, but also the culture around POC and minorities, and we can see that just by simply listening to her, as her thick New York accent will immediately hit you and she never tries to hide it. Cardi B is of Dominican and Trinidadian descent with African roots, but born and raised in Bronx, New York, and Spanish was her first language. She is very proud of her roots and in her hit song, “I Like It” featuring Latin artists J Balvin and Bad Bunny, she embraces her Dominican roots through its Latin flair.

She has also incorporated her Latin side by singing in Spanish in the songs “Taki Taki” and “La Modelo” with Latin artist Ozuna.

She has become a proud role model for many aspiring people of color, especially females, to work hard to pursue their dreams as anything is possible for them. As stated by Pizzabottle news website, “She stands for female empowerment–working hard for yours, not relying on others for your success and finances. She talks to young girls in impoverished neighborhoods–much like the one she grew up in–to inspire them to reach for more, to dream big and achieve it.” So again, Cardi B not only impacted the culture of POC nor sex culture, but female empowerment culture altogether.
It is interesting to note that while there is a lot that Cardi B has been praised for, there has definitely been a lot she has been criticized for as well, which makes her quite controversial at times. To start with, the song WAP has received a lot of criticism by plenty of American conservative commenters. Complex Magazine stated that, “...James P. Bradley, went so far to claim that 'Cardi B & Megan Thee Stallion are what happens when children are raised without God and without a strong father figure,' an immensely controversial statement, especially given that Megan’s father passed away when she was 15.” Complex Magazine also brought up a very good point that, “These ludicrous critiques show, once again, that sex is only a taboo expression in music when women—specifically women of color—explore it. Love-making, sex, f*cking, or whatever you might call it, isn’t a new theme in music… So why do we only hear criticism like this when artists like Cardi and Megan do it?” This opens up a conversation about the misogyny in the rap and hip-hop genre, which has always been male-dominated, as well as opening up the feminist culture that Cardi B is fighting for.
Another criticism of the WAP song was by Ben Shapiro, another American conservative, who analyzed the song and music video and sarcastically stated, ““Guys, this is what feminists fought for… This is what the feminist movement is all about. It’s not really about women being treated as independent, full-rounded human beings. It’s about wet a– p-word. And if you say anything differently, [it’s] because you’re a misogynist, you see.”  Below is a tweet that Shapiro posted criticizing the song, and one of the many memes responding to his strange critique.
Tumblr media
I honestly just found this funny and I think this only publicly revealed in an embarrassing manner that he does not even understand basic female anatomy.
Overall, Cardi B has become a very prominent cultural influence to women and people of color and continues to show her support for them. Although since her breakthrough in 2017, I have heard very strong opinions for and against her, I believe it is an objective fact that Cardi B has impacted these cultures through her social media and musical platforms. I hope that after reading my blog post, some of you out there can view Cardi B in a different, perhaps more positive light from seeing the positive intentions she has to re-form these cultures.

Taiwan opens office in Lithuania, in move set to anger China IIT Madras students take up sustainable development goals for entrepreneurship contestĮthiopia releases 6 U.N. We often laugh when we hear the creative team say, “Sara will not wear those clothes” or “Sara would ask this question.” We have emotionally invested in making Sara the girl we would love to hang out with. We defined her personality at length (how she talks, what bothers her, what she wears). What was the brief to the designer and artist?
Tumblr media
She brought a perfect mix of humour and flair to the illustrations. Our Chief Visual Designer, Aayushi Yadav adapted these ideas to powerful images. Bookosmia co-founder, Archana, wrote Sara’s dialogue. It is all teamwork - her expressions, language and posture. She is famous for her quirky Indian designs and did a fabulous job. Sara was designed by Parvati Pillai, ex design head of Chumbak. You just have to look at her, see and listen to her and you will connect with her instantly. She is just like them, figuring out the world, not just talking, but listening, reading and asking questions. Sara is someone young people can relate to. In creating Sara, we wanted to make something different - no mythology, no Hindi cinema, no rockets or superpowers. We held writing contests across India and received at least 500 stories from every corner of the country from Surat to Kolkata and Chennai to Jammu. Sports is a powerful medium to give the message of the importance of struggle, persistence, teamwork and humility. She talks about current affairs including games and festivals. These stories are perfect for children in the age group of two to six years. We thought it is not every day that one reads a Kannada story to one’s child, which talks about culture and festivals. This self-imposed isolation is for our benefit, but staying isolated during a festival makes us feel bad, that is why we released stories for Ugadi. We have children, adults and senior citizens - all cooped up at home. We are all trying to adjust to the new situation against the backdrop of coronavirus. Nidhi spoke to MetroPlus about Sara’s latest adventures.Ĭould you tell us about the Kannada stories?īookosmia (smell of books) released two stories in Kannada for Ugadi. Bookosmia’s aim is to make children fall in love with reading and writing.” “For instance, Sara has provided match predictions, interviews and cricket anecdotes from the recently concluded Women’s T-20 World Cup. “In this section Sara curates fun sports stuff,” says Nidhi Mishra, Founder and CEO of Bookosmia, a company that provides content for children across physical and digital formats. The online platform recently launched Sara’s Corner, detailing the exploits of a 10-year-old sports-loving athlete. Bookosmia made two Kannada stories available for free from March 25. That was reason enough for Bookosmia to come up with programming for children to kill time creatively. Parents are under pressure now to keep children occupied and engaged at home.
