It’s not like I don’t TRY to like recent perfumes. I’ll test Prada Paradoxe or Mon Guerlain on skin and I’ll sniff it with a wobbly smile and go “after two hours it smells really nice! I like the dry down…” and then at home I’ll put on some scent described as “leather+powders” and I’ll cry with relief.

NOW FOR PART 2, WHICH YOU CARE EVEN LESS ABOUT BUT YOU LITERALLY ASKED: The Overwatch gals.
Hana: I had to actually do research (ugh) for this one, because I know she'd be into whatever young people are wearing, because despite her best efforts and calculated marketing and overwhelming responsibility, she actually is a Young People. Young people in the US and Europe overwhelmingly wear vanillas and gourmands, but young people in Korea have much more affection for florals, which are considered more 'mature' in the western markets.* So. I wanted to find something floral but softer and with a bit of the sweet brightness that is identified with a lot of 'young' perfumes. Finally got to smell my frontrunners in Harrods this winter.
La Tulipe by Byredo. Byredo makes some FANTASTIC stuff but by God are they expensive (she wouldn't have to care anyhow) so it took me a long while to get a chance to smell this one. Even buying a decant, how I normally do perfume, was spendy. But it is exactly what I want, almost a top jammy note with this gorgeous subtle floral. It's young, but 'grown up' and composed. (the second frontrunner was Jo Malone's Wild Bluebell, but after smelling both, I think La Tulipe is right)
Fareeha. In much the same way, Fareeha's tastes are influenced by the middle east, though I know enough about that to not need to seek out stuff. She was actually extremely easy. I knew it the second I smelled it, as in, I was walking by and had to walk back because I knew it.
Oud Wood by Tom Ford. It's masculine and commanding. This is a leader's perfume. It's a very well balanced oud fragrance, appropriate for Cairo or London. It really strikes that balance between Western and Arabic perfumery in a way only a handful of perfumes do, and the other ones I can think of have spice or floral notes I don't think Fareeha would like. The wood and amber notes really come through, and lend this air of mystery and purpose to the whole thing. it's a great perfume honestly.
Angela I see as only wearing perfume for special occasions not even in a "not like the other girls' way, but in a 'she struggles to prioritize and take care of herself' way that i see a lot of her 'sloppiness' coming out of. I think if she did have one, she would pick something sweet and warm and very 'comforting'. There are so so many choices in this vein that it was genuinely difficult for me, but I think I like what I ended up with.
Apple Brandy on the Rocks by Killian. Funnily enough, I thought I would like this for me, but i absolutely do not. It's giving boozy apple pie, which fits so well with my concept of Angela at her greatest and highest that I'm annoyed I didn't think of it years ago. It should have been a Fareeha-type situation.
Lena. I have had an idea of what Lena smells like for YEARS, but I could never find it. It's young but masculine leaning, the smell of citrus brightness and an old leather jacket. For years I was layering perfumes to sort of get there but was never happy with it, and then one day I sampled something offhand just in case and there it was.
Sicilian Leather by Memo Paris. Honestly, everything i have smelled in their leather line has been killer even if it's not for me to wear, so I didn't think it would be a waste. (I absolutely recommend trying some of their stuff) But the second i smelled this, it was THANK GOD FINALLY. It's so hard to find something that uses leather that is also bright and cheerful and young, but this is it. Orange oil and Cedar, and laying under that, a gorgeous leather accord. It's perfect.

Jo Malone storefront opened at the rich person mall so i had a good sniff sesh and got some samples (Tuberose Angelica and Jasmine Sambac & Marigold). went to Sephora anyway to test the new meme tom ford with the cringe and trashy name (Vanilla Sex) (it sucked also, smelled like raw dough in a not good way) and the cherry themed Black Opium flanker (fine, smelled like cough syrup, launched about 5 years too late, that trend has passed i think). came away with a commodity sample set. almost impulsively bought a travel spray of Bee (Ellis Brooklyn) because its really similar to Bee (Zoologist) which is just out of my tax bracket to be honestly. had a salad bar salad for my good friday fast small meal. gonna spend the rest of the day doing laundry and playing WoW i think.

Hi, thanks for asking! I am honestly kind of boring compared to a lot of perfume girlies on here, I don't have a very sophisticated nose, but I do like to smell nice and collect pretty bottles 😊 I love florals and citrus-y scents (groundbreaking, I know...). My 'signature scent' (though tbh I don't spritz every day because it's pricey) is Diptyque Eau Rose EDT, a very fresh and romantic rose which regularly gets me compliments, perfect for spring imo. Rose can be stuffy, I think it might be the lychee note that makes it appealing to me. I just ordered the solid refillable version, which is so cute and ideal for putting in my bag to re-apply throughout the day:
I also have a weakness for Jo Malone, although tbh I think the quality of their releases keeps decreasing so I'm kind of done... I still love their Lime, Basil & Mandarin, Pomegranate Noir, and Orange Blossom. I also like the Guerlain Aqua Allegoria line, especially the Nettare di Sole and Pera Granita.
I recently purchased a Penhaligon's discovery set, but I haven't tried them yet - might do some little reviews here if people are interested!

genevieve lives in a two bedroom flat near campus. paid for by her parents, her apartment takes up the top floor of a small but stunning building. the building is old, built as the university was growing, and while the historic beauty of it has been preserved the space has been infused with modern luxury. the entryway features italian marble floors and a stunning staircase, and two floors up ( by stairs or by small elevator ) sits genevieve’s apartment . . .

though the stunning historical architecture of the apartment has been kept painstakingly intact, the space has been treated to many renewals and lots of upkeep over the years. it was already a high end space geared towards the wealthy students of meraviglia before genevieve ever stepped foot in it, but the most recent work on it was done by her team. the design of the apartment highlights its historic charm while keeping a clean, modern feel. think large windows and wood floors with high end fixtures, white linen, and crisp lines. while genevieve didn’t pick out a single piece of furniture or design anything herself, everything has been perfectly tailored to her style, simple, elegant, and expensive.
the upkeep of her apartment is also something gen doesn’t play a big role in. while she does generally keep her space meticulously tidy, she isn’t someone that’s ever done her own laundry or taken out the trash. the apartment is always serenely beautiful and impeccably neat, exactly what you would expect her space to be. it generally smells of wood sage and sea salt from her favourite jo malone candle mixed with a floral scent from the flowers that are regularly refreshed (again, taken care of by someone else, genevieve not at all nurturing enough to change the water in a vase).
her kitchen doesn’t get used very much, but it’s stunning nonetheless. her fridge is primarily stocked with meals from a chef on the island and bottles of expensive wine. her gorgeous, gas, unbelievably expensive stove goes almost untouched, as she prefers to simply order in meals rather than to cook — because really, how could she spare the time for that. what she will take the time to make is a cocktail ( she’s never been the kind of girl to go for a vodka cranberry ), everything needed to make the perfect martini is available at a moment’s notice. she will often use her kitchen to study, the marble countertop of the island perfect for spreading out her papers and books when her desk feels too small. it’s perfect, given that she really prefers studying at home to studying in public where anybody can see how hard she works ( and interrupt her ). she tends to alternate between her bed, her desk, her counter, and on occasion a bubble bath for studying, schoolwork, and planning.
the apartment has one and a half baths. the powder room off of the main entry way is stunning enough, beautiful floral wallpaper and expensive fixtures ( and perfect lighting for moody mirror selfies when gen is ever hosting ), but the en suite is truly gorgeous. featuring an enormous tub, bubble baths a favourite of gen’s, and a large shower, of course with a rainfall showerhead and a steam setting. essentially, it’s an on demand spa in her humble abode.
the living room rarely looks lived in, but it’s furnishings are plush and inviting. incredibly expensive couches upholstered in white fabric that brings a brightness to the space and contrast the dark wood of the coffee table. there always seems to be a new selection of coffee table books waiting to be picked through by any guest, always featuring some form of incredibly interesting and cool subject matter, fashion and architecture and art infused into her space in the most unobtrusive way. the space also features a gorgeous, original fireplace with a large mirror resting above it. gen, not one to watch tv often, instead has a projector hidden away somewhere. the living room also opens up to a small terrace which adjoins to her bedroom, featuring a cafe set for breakfasts in the warm italian sun.
the second bedroom in the apartment has been converted into a space that is so specific to genevieve it’s almost sickening: a combination walk in closet and office. perhaps it seems odd, but the pairing never gave her pause. to genevieve the way she presents herself to the world is another piece of her work. half of the room is lined with bookshelves, the other half with clothing, shoes, and handbags. if you’re lucky enough perhaps you’ll even see the jewelry collection that’s tucked away, filled with vintage diamonds and pearls that have been passed down to her.
her bedroom is, in a word, luxurious. in the center of the room sits a plush king sized bed, topped with silk sheets and a down duvet. on her bed side table you may find the latest issue of vogue ( which she happily reads for the fashion AND the articles, a girl shouldn’t have to choose ) or a dense, unflinchingly complex text on international law or political theory. one wall features large windows and of course the entry to the balcony, diaphanous curtains separating her from the world while greedily allowing the light into the space. her vanity also resides in her bedroom, gen preferring to do her makeup and hair there rather than anywhere else. the closet in the bedroom is heartbreakingly small, owing to the old architecture of the building, in it mostly nightwear resides, silky nightgowns and pajamas as well as warm cashmere for when she feels cold. while her bedroom is gorgeous, it perhaps has more in common with a luxury hotel than someone’s home. gen keeps little of anything sentimental in the space, a firm believer that attachments only slow one down. of course, there’s also the fact that the only person she’s ever truly been sentimental about is her brother, and reminders of him burn more than they soothe.

his relationship with his father is extremely complicated . on one hand , he wants to be completely rid of him , but his father unfortunately knows that santi has always craved to have a relationship with him . whenever his dad is in trouble , he knows he can call santi and worm his way out .

he currently resides on west 23rd street in chelsea , having bought a condo there when he moved to new york . considering that santi has a mind for business , he has made successful investments over the years which has led to him owning homes in southampton , monaco , and back home in atlanta ( specifically in the buckhead area ) .
one of his proudest moments is being able to buy a home for his mother— although she profusely refused , santi surprised her with a new home after winning his first professional race .

What’s some of your favorite perfume? Atm I’m liking La Belle, Eau Première, Vanilla 28, Libre Le Parfum, & Angels Share✨
ooh anon I loved Vanilla 28 so much that I bought the Kayali Discovery set and I loved Pink Pepper, but the longevity isn't great (ok for the price point, but not great).
Angels share- anoooon, you have taste. I love how sexy and decadent it smells. I was browsing duty-free a few months ago and almost impulse-bought it. It's the sophisticated older sister to Sol de Janero Brazillan crush (which I spray in my hair if I'm between washes).
So my signature scent is Intense Rose Musk by Montale, but in the summer, I rotate between Issey Miyake rose or rose prick, or red roses by Jo Malone (they are all much lighter). I also spray on some Rose Jam by Lush. My last fragrance buy was the Snow Fairy spray. I tend to either wear gourmands or rose scents- often, I layer them.

I know she has a huge following, but Jo Malone products never appealed to me and I've never bought anything from them, until today. I was immediately drawn to the big bow on this fragrance when it launched weeks ago and even more intrigued by the name and notes of Ginger Biscuit Cologne. It's a fragrance they've previously released and those that love it, have been calling for it's return and here it is for the 2023 Holiday season with it's big striped bow and ginger coloured bottle.
I know critics will say, they've just slapped a bow on an old scent and called it 'limited edition' to lure us in, well their marketing worked on me as I wouldn't have (and didn't in previous years) look twice at it without the cute packaging. I generally love Christmas, so their Gingerbread Land theme this year really appealed to me with cologne adorned trees, huge candy striped bows, giant gingerbread house and whimsy soldiers.
Ginger Biscuit cologne has top notes of ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg with a caramel and hazelnut heart and warm base of vanilla and tonka bean. On paper, it sounds right up my street, so after stalling for weeks, I blind-bought the 100ml online today (fingers crossed I don't regret it) before it sells out. I'm hoping to smell like something yummy just come out of the oven at Christmas time, don't let me down Jo Malone!
P.S. I was sorely tempted by the Orange Bitters Cologne too, another Christmas LE that I think would be fantastic layered with Ginger Biscuit. There's also an adorable gingerbread house box with 5 miniature versions including the 3 limited edition Ginger Biscuit, Orange Bitters and Green Almond & Redcurrant, as well as other sets, the advent calendar and candles.
